You are right about Chisato (and also Kanon) but I feel like we are forgetting how much of a wild card Hina can be. Hina will probably just initiate the kiss without saying anything, and Chisato could try to scold her and talk about the importance of consent, but Hina will respond with something like "but you do want to kiss me too" and Chisato can't really deny that

Also imagine Hina in an interview (thanks game for making it canon that Hina just say whatever): It's hard to understand people, they can be so different sometimes, like I can always just kiss Eve, but I have to ask Maya first or she gets too nervous, and also mad at me, Aya I can tell her on advance a week before I do anything and she still will be nervous"

Chisato is backstage wanting to kill her for giving TMI, but she keeps going: "I still don't get Chisato, she complains if I kiss her without saying anything, but once I asked her if I could kiss her and she said "I don't know, can you?" So I didn't because consent is important, and I thought that was dubious so I shouldn't do anything, but she still got mad at me, is that the tsundere thing I read about in the internet?"

I’m glad that the most recent event made it so that not only is it canon for Hina to run her mouth during any question she receives ever but also that Chisato will her go for a hot minute because she’s panicking and desperately trying to get her back on track before she spills even more of the group’s beans. So you got Hina who’s blabbering on and on about how much she likes to kiss all the other girls in the group and Chisato fucking running up from behind and grabbing Hina and staring directly in the camera: “I’m sorry it looks like something urgent has come up, it is time for us to leave, farewell” 

And like its said in perfect Chisato seriousness with that Look on her face that she gets at like all times and everyone is terrified to defy her but the second that she’s out of sight they’re all turning to each other like: “......................pastel palettes kisses each other don’t they”

Honestly, you doing the calculation of how old a character might be using almost exclusively only information you gathered by meticulously looking at every information on couple of screenshots is one of the best parts of the jet wolf experience. I don't know much about history, it used to be my worst subject at school, and I only recently found it to be more interesting now that I don't have to memorize a bunch of stuff for a test. So if you don't mind explaining a bit (usually I try not to bother people and instead try searching the internet, but you just said it's not that trustworthy and I don't know enough to know the difference), you are saying that these "torture devices" like the iron maiden were actually just decorations?

You’re the second person reaching out for clarifications (and no, I don’t mind at all, actually the opposite!) so I’m thinking of doing a sort of “masterpost” tackling the 3 I mentioned and other famous ones (like the metal chair).

In a very concise way, tho: iron maidens weren’t decorations either bc they did not exist at all until the late 1700. 

They’re based on a -real- barrel called schandmantel once used by civilian authorities to publicly humiliate certain criminals (umiliate, not torture!), barrels that had no metal spikes at all until -wait for it- the late 1700. The maidens, inspired by those barrels were then created to evoke a false “gothic, horror middle age” aesthetic that was liked in that period and well into the victorian era (think works like the Castle of Otranto). 

Then they were used to push that “booh, cruel and barbaric ME Church! Booo” anticlericalism, but even in late 1800 historians were already calling bullshit on the Maidens as middle age inventions (as if Me people had any intention to waste so much invaluable metal for torture purposes! A rope was more than enough to inflict pain and costed nothing).

if maya’s annoyed that she’s basically got a big joke on her arm, then kuro... actually doesn’t care too much. she’s got lots of antics to get up to in paris after all, n it helps that her words are on the nape of her neck, where she can’t rlly see them. out of sight, out of mind. oh, she’ll spare a curious thought or two about what kind of person her soulmate is, to say something as dramatic as “if that is what you wish” in this day n age, but for the most part kuro has other things to worry about--like who’s going to take her back from the park, if they’re going to visit papa in tokyo over her mom’s spring break, whether or not she’ll make the audition for lou’s

there’s a lot going on in kuro’s life. the possibility--inevitability, even--of a distant romance is far from the forefront of her mind.

when she gets big as a child star, some ppl are unscrupulous enough to try and catch her unguarded. they succeed. kuro puts her hair up for dance practice and before long, pictures of her words circulate. her family shuts it down quickly, but the ppl who care to see already have. 

kuro gets older. people get crueler. some even try to take advantage; “if that is what you wish,” they say, as if kuro wouldn’t know her soulmate on sight. (right?) it sours her on the concept, and she hates it--her mother and father are soulmates. kuro had, in her own way, taken it for granted that the path to hers would be just as inevitable. 

she puts it from her mind. let the rabble be rabble. she is saijou claudine. she was arrie. the issue of her soulmate can wait, just as it had waited in her childhood. but then: 

tendou maya. 

hearing her words coming from maya’s mouth is like getting shot through with a bolt of lightning. it’s her. maya is hers, without a doubt--but then kuro falls, and suddenly being near maya is a painful thing. does she want maya?? does maya want her?? there are plenty of people who don’t adhere to the soulmarks; they’re happier, even, to be living outside it. maybe maya is of that sort. maybe kuro is too. 

kuro’s not sure what she wants, much less what could possibly b running through maya’s mind. she empathizes with mahiru going into their second year. the other lead roles are all paired up; all but her, mahiru, maya, and karen. mahiru makes her feel better about her uncertainty, and gives her an excuse to pretend not to know what it means when maya’s stare lingers a little too long. she can’t even explain it to herself in her quietest moments. why doesn’t she just... relent? perhaps because she still thinks of it as surrender, rather than falling into a person who matches you, grows with you, could come to love you. she doesn’t know how to feel ab maya. she isnt sure she wants to

but the revues happen, n kuro finds herself at the finish line staring down the unlikeliest duo. n its--its perfect. she’s never been so in sync w another person, n for the first time kuro rlly feels it for herself: the synergy of being with your soulmate. she can’t help herself. she gets too caught up in the sensation of being with maya, n when maya’s cape falls, kuro only has one answer: it’s her fault. it has to be. she was too careless, too focused on the thrumming of her heart in tandem with maya’s to b wholly present during the fight. she was the weak link. 

but maya doesn’t allow it. at last, kuro has the answer to her first question: who is her soulmate? what kind of person is she? infuriating. frustrating. inscrutable. n damn her, kuro loves it. its not a surrender if they’re both reaching out, after all

A bit early to ask, but have you decided what to do after you finish Vivid? The anime doesn't cover all of the manga so you can read that if you want, the manga is already finished and the translation is almost caught up. There's also the Vivid Strike anime, but that one sort of happens after the manga, so you might be a bit lost if you only watched the anime. If you want after you finish I can tell you the last chapter the anime covered, or a short list of what happened so you don't get lost

I’m planning on continuing the manga after I finish! If you want to tell me where the anime stops that would be great, I won’t be liveblogging it much, but I’ll try to make a few summary posts along the way and when I catch up. 

I actually read the manga as it was coming out years and years ago, and I think I got past what the anime covers, but I remembered basically nothing as I started the anime, so I want to pick up where the anime left off. I think the only things I remembered were the general premise, Einhart’s whole inherited memory thing, that the training camp battle happened, that there was a tournament, and that Sieglinde and Victoria existed. 

I am definitely going to watch Vivid Strike, it sounds really cool, but I probably won’t liveblog that either, just due to the time it takes me. I’ve been watching Vivid over my spring break, and once college starts up again I’m not going to have the time. I might see if I can do episode summary posts, or some amount of blogging about it along the way.

Also, after that I figure I’ll wrap around and go back and watch the movies, since I never actually saw any of them. I had heard good things about the adaptations of the first two seasons, and now apparently there are two other original movies?! 

I’m looking forward to it.

I saw the Tsubasa not killing grampa kazanari as both 1- Tsubasa has just gotten out of the mind control and reliving her trauma so let's not put "killing a human being (he does unfortunately still fits this description) for the first time" on top of that. And 2- grampa kazanari kind of wanted her to kill him, so not doing that and only putting him in prison like they did to dr ver back in G is the thing he would hate the most

I kinda get that’s what they were going for, but between the speed of that entire arc, Maria’s weird line about not killing family earlier, and this franchise’s... uneven history with abusive parental figures, it still left a bad taste in the mouth. Not as bad as the tainted tomato metaphor from last season, but still there.

Kudos is not really the same as a likes on Tumblr, because many people sort fics by kudos/check how many kudos a fic has before deciding to read it, so it does help with promoting. Many readers are terrified of commenting on someone's fic, they don't know what to write or they think the author doesn't need/want to see what they want to say (an irrational and unfounded fear, authors love any and all comments), so kudos is a way to show appreciation and help with promoting the fic

I'm really happy to hear that you are liking revue starlight. Also I figured I could tell you that this is a multimedia franchise, you don't really need to see/read/play any of the other stuff to get the anime, but after you are done with the series you can check them out if you want. I specially recommend the stage play, it's done by the same voice actress because they all have experience with theater, and it's a different retelling of the story

Ooh, interesting! I’ll keep that in mind.

I JUST REMEMBERED THAT YOU KNOW FRENCH, SO YOU KNOW THAT TECHNICALLY CLAUDINE SAID THAT KAREN IS A BITCH (I mean it was a mistake, the writers wanted her to say dog, and french is a gendered language so they had to say Female Dog, and they accidentally used the French equivalent of "Bitch", but it's hilarious thinking Claudine meant it)

On a completely unrelated topic, I just finished manaria friends, and so, now that I have better context, I can help you out with tail content, starting with not really horny content, because not all of us can flip a switch as fast as you. But you remember how Grea has the habit of sleeping hugging her tail, and she finds it embarrassing and wants to stop, while Anne is very horny for said tail, and at the end of the anime they started sleeping together?

So it's 100% possible that Anne decided to help break that habit, by simply putting herself between Grea and her tail, so that now, Grea sleeps cuddling Anne, that is sleeping hugging her tail. It's a win-win situation really. (Grea probably still holds her tail when she's sleeping alone, but that's more because she's missing having Anne to hold than the normal previous habit)

oh my god absolutely. You can’t tell me for a second that Anne wouldn’t immediately try and become Grea’s new cuddle object the second that she sees how she sleeps with her tail. And once they do that enough nights Grea will become so used to sleeping holding Anne that she’ll start to not be able to sleep without her instead of her tail and frankly that’s just fucking adorable.

Really I also think Anne will start to not be able to sleep without Grea’s tail as well which sure will lead to some awkward ass shit once they really start sleeping together you feel me.
