you know what, i hope lauren lane knows that there are a whole bunch of lesbians/queer women on tumblr.com who find so much joy and solace in cc babcock as a character, who see themselves in her, who find her desirable and who will die mad about how she was treated by canon.
like yes, technically this tiny little fandom is for fran x cc and g-d knows i adore fran (both fine and drescher although she remains on thin ice) but rlly, so many people are here because this woman who we see as queer/gay got destroyed by the narrative and we're just...wanting to set that right?
anyway, i'm thinking too hard about cc babcock again, i hope lauren lane is having a really nice day, thanks for everything.

The Nanny/Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Crossover where Niles catches C.C. insulting Geoffrey
Niles: I leave you alone for five minutes and this is what happens!
C.C.: Niles I can explain! I didn't mean for this to happen!
C.C.: He means NOTHING to me! It's you I despise!
Niles: Don't give me that! You probably say it to all the hired help!
C.C.: No it's true! I loathe you and only you!
Niles: I feel so cheap. Like a 99 cent sponge that doesn't even have a scouring pad on the back.
C.C.: I'M cheap! Come on, call me a harlot, a floozy, a drunken tart!
Niles: Never again!
C.C.: Remind how I can only get a man to fall for me is if he was thrown out of a moving car!
Niles: YOU DON'T DESERVE IT.
C.C.: Tell me you hate me. For the love of God tell me you hate me!
Niles: Miss Babcock, you are a beautiful, charming, intelligent, and compassionate woman.
C.C.: No!
Niles: You've always been the brains behind Maxwell and the fact he cannot see you for the amazing person you are means he's a fool.
C.C.: Stop!
Niles: And by the way, you couldn't possibly be a day over... 20.
C.C.: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Niles: I want you to know one thing, Geoffrey. You will NEVER, EVER, disgust her as much as I do!
Geoffrey: I'm feeling pretty disgusted right now, actually.
Niles: UGH, don't you come on to me!
...
C.C.: I threw away the best thing that ever happened to me and for what, for WHAT?!
Fran: Cheer up Miss Babcock. If it makes you feel better, I could ask if you stole your hair from a clown.
Fran: Or are you renting?
C.C.: I DON'T DESERVE YOUR COMPASSION!

Oh. I just realised something I hadn't noticed.
It's about Niles' name.
Throughout the series, we had only one mention of Niles' possible family name. And that's in episode "The Butler, The Husband, The Wife and The Mother".
When Fran asks Niles what his last name is, Niles replies: "Just Niles, Like Cher".
So he's actually answering truthfully: his last name is "Niles". She never asked for his real name, because she thought "Niles" was his name. Soo, he has a point in his favour there.
Anyway, I checked on Reddit for more information about this, and came across a debate on this topic where they too came to the same conclusion.
One of the comments said (and I quote):
“I think Niles being his last name is right. In a Season 4 episode, Maxwell's father greets Niles by name and says he hasn't aged since he last saw him and Niles says "That was my father".
Unless his father was Niles Sr., it would mean that Niles is the family name.”
Now. If You go to IMDb and you read the trivia of that chapter, you'll see that they tell us that Niles' full name is:
EDWARD EZEL NILES
The information comes from IMDb so it's true. So I came to the conclusion that "Niles" is the surname.
Back to my point... Niles and C.C. share the same name composition!
Chastity Claire Babcock → C.C. Babcock
Edward Ezel Niles → E.E. Niles
Such a clever thing btw. I didn't notice, but probably you did. Maybe I'll write something about this. Have a nice day ✨
