CAA is omnipresent?

A wonderful friend has dug up some interesting information that I am about to share about CAA.

Jan 2023: The move cements the separation of their assets from the pan-European Wild Bunch AG film group, which was created in 2015 out of the merger of their original French company Wild Bunch and Germany’s Senator Film and is now majority-owned by German entrepreneur Lars Windhorst. This means Wild Bunch AG no longer owns its 20% stake in the independent standalone international sales company Maraval and Chioua and their 15-strong team launched in 2019 under the banner of Wild Bunch International (WBI). The company is now been majority owned by Maraval and Chioua and its staff, with CAA also holding a 20% stake. The pair are in the process of securing a new name but the public dropping of the Wild Bunch moniker marks a decisive move for them and their team as they continue to build the new company.

DEADLINE: Wild Bunch International has existed as a standalone company since 2019. Why have you decided only now to split from the iconic brand name you created in 2002 but no longer own? BRAHIM CHIOUA: When we created Wild Bunch International in 2019, Wild Bunch took a 20% stake in exchange for allowing us to use the Wild Bunch brand in our name under a signed three-year agreement. We had a second commercial cooperation deal for the same period under which Wild Bunch International continued to sell and manage Wild Bunch’s international catalogue for a fee, and also had access to the group’s back-office services, for which we paid a fee. This deal came to an end in November 2022 with a get-out clause for both parties. We opted to buyout Wild Bunch’s equity share.

DEADLINE: You have always worked closely with CAA. How does this move impact your relationship with the agency?

MARAVAL: CAA has been an historical partner and they allowed us to start the new company three years ago. Our relationship is probably one we are the most proud of because this goes beyond a simple business relationship. Together with Roeg Sutherland’s team, we built a unique business model of synergies and connection in term of promotion, financing , talent representation that benefit the talent and the producers we are working with such as Alice Diop, Nadine Labaki, Claire Denis, Rebecca Zlotowski, Ladj Ly, Jacques Audiard or Gaspar Noé for example.

DEADLINE: As well as continuing to work on international sales, the new company seems more directly involved in producing... MARAVAL: International sales is no longer our only activity. We’re much more involved as active co-producing partners whether it’s through Le Collectif 64 or Wild West. It’s not like in the past when a company such as Fidelité would come to us with a film, and we would say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Now, we participate in the development, financing and packaging of projects. Changes in the industry meant we had to reformat ourselves. We don’t have to sell the films produced by Getaway Films, Wild West or Le Collectif 64 because with those companies we’re wearing a co-producer hat with an active role. We need to find the best solution for each film, which won’t necessarily involve us selling it internationally on a territory basis.

It looks like transatlantic cooperation, that's why pairing up an American actor and a European actress makes sense to attract not only domestic but also an international audience. As we know Chris is not well-known in Europe, if he wants more international fame and financing for the Kelly project from a non-US company, this pr rl might be a good chance for him.

Industry people have been informed about WBI and WB AG deal since 2019, Seb and Aly, Chris and Lily, and now Chris and Alba appeared in 2020. Actresses are from Europe.

The industry is changing due to many factors. Chris is trying to survive like many actors. He doesn't have his Marvel role too. It's a new start for him, he needs to build a solid foundation. Industry-wise, he is not RDJ or DJ, he doesn't have a pull to make people go to watch his movies as a lead, he needs pr.

Chris' case is also different because of Amelia's children and his 2 movies. And we don't know about Jinx marketing plans.

below the cut is a little about the server, and how you can join me.

To begin, this server serves as an extension to my library, @rookthornesramblings, and its main purpose is to do so.

There will be roles and tags for each collection, and there is an option to opt in for every one of them or only a few — it is your choice and you have freedom to change your mind, or even select none of them!

PLEASE NOTE: this server is for people over the age of 21. This is due to the nature of things that may be shared in certain channels — it is non-negotiable.

Within the server I have set up a couple of different categories for socialisation:

a place to introduce yourself and know more about myself and your fellow kittens, while also selecting the roles of what you wish to have within your experience.

a section for you to promote your own and other's works, events, and creations, while also serving as a sprinting host and a place to brainstorm with others (and myself).

Within the library section of the server, there are more categories:

channels dedicated to different characters that I write for that are not connected with AUs — so this is where my drabbles and one shots will be found.

an entire lot of channels and categories dedicated to both my Bucky Barnes and Stucky collections — they are listed alphabetically and have 3 channels each, one for chatter, 2 for brainstorming/inspiration.

no joke, people need to start paying more attention to the political situation in india. it's not as bad as the genocides elsewhere (yet) but the situation with muslims is growing worse every day. and honestly, though they hate muslims and sc/st the most, other religious minorities will probably get targeted as well.

besides indian political issues not getting seen in the west, what examples of indian politics they DO see are heavily tainted. here's a new example:

I imagine they changed it so they wouldn't get harassed by BJP followers. it's cowardice but nothing new either. this is also why I hate RRR since it was a soft propoganda movie that favored hindutva facism, but people in the west didn't know and that was frustrating to see.

False SA allegations are apparently less terrifying than coming out as gay?!

Trigger Warning: Discussions about SA and casting couch. I recently saw this reblog from blea74. There someone claims to have worked for CAA, the PR firm Chris Evans is still under. You can read everything this person said here:

Something important was mentioned that some people still deny when I talk to them privately about this whole Portugal PR mess: "but to my understanding and digging a little deeper, there was some tantrums on both sides here. Chris not wanting to do things, and her forcing it by whatever nonsense she has in her pocket. I will divulge my suspicions of that, but it's probably within your imagination. And yes CAA suits would do that. They would also tell the parties involved it's over or "do this and you're finished" and then change their mind. As long as the date on the paper hasn't expired they can really do whatever they want." When confronting people with the fact that Hollywood is basically a mafia, many refuse to believe me because it sounds too much like a conspiracy theory. However, not too long ago I came across this article:

I don't know much about Vin Diesel because I don't watch idiot movies like Fast & Furious (I actually only like horror movies) but it doesn't matter which social media platform, almost every time Vin Diesel is written about in connection to the SA allegations, many people in the comment sections reply: "How? He is gay." Where there is smoke, there is fire and just because someone has children and wife, doesn't mean they are hetero. See: Will Smith or John Travolta.

Shortly after the allegations against Diesel, I saw this discussion by a youtube channel called HoneyBadgerRadio:

At 33:50 the discussion becomes interesting in relation to our PR theories. They already started to talk about Vin Diesel before my time stamp but at 33:50, the celebrity expert called Lauren B comes on the show and discusses how this accusation could just be PR to make Vin Diesel appear as a "masculine" straight man. The discussion I highlight goes on until 48:14. I recommend listening to these 15 minutes but the most important thing you'll learn is that: False allegations are apparently less terriyfing than coming out as gay. I remember a similar story regarding this soccer player called Ronaldo or something... but I digress. And when you think about it: Hollywood is hypocritical again! They push the agenda that toxic masculinity is bad but use examples of toxic macho behavior to promote their stars??! And it also demonstrates to what lenghts some of these PR firms go in order to paint a certain narrative. So when an anonymous CAA anon claims that Chris and other celeb dudes could be forced into certain behavior, unless they want to kiss their careers good-bye, it is actually not so hard to believe.
