Hello! I just wanted to ask for a Volturi kings x fem!mate who is very powerful. The problem is that they don't exactly know how powerful she is cause she's all happy and bubbly person and very rarely use her powers. So when the king's lives are in danger, she gets all angry and mouthy to the threat and just uses her powers and just annihilate them. Que open-mouthed vamps and one aroused blonde lol.
A/N: Pikachu meme was my inspiration and let’s once ignore the fact that Aro can read minds! Also, it is hard to imagine a situation where the kings could be harmed so apologies for the bad plot that I made up.
-S
+400ish words.
TW/CW: Three cases of beheading (blame Stephenie Meyer for making the vampires so over powered). I can't think of anything else!
Tumblr media
It took them quite a long time before your mates even realized that you had special powers.
You really didn’t talk about them because to you it wasn’t anything too special and due to your bubbly personality, you rarely talked about any bad past experiences.
You sat on Caius’s lap playing with his extravagant clothes whilst waiting for the trial to start.
The room was mostly empty, only consisting of the three kings, you and two lower guards. The next case was said to be pretty simple and quick, so it was deemed that a massive security wasn’t needed. Also, the higher guards were in need of a break.
The heavy doors opened, and you quieted down.
You didn’t really know what the man being escorted had done. But from what you had heard from your mates, the man had hurt many people causing humans to start to question what was going on.
You didn’t really pay attention to the happenings. Aro took the lead like most of the time. He gently took the hand of the man in front of him, diving into the man’s memories.
Aro most of the times closed his eyes when using his powers. He said that it was because it helped him to concentrate on the vast amount of information that he was getting.
You weren’t sure what happened but in seconds the man pulled his hand away from Aro and the two guards on the floor were on the floor heads separated from their bodies.
All of your mates seemed very confused. It had been centuries since one who was standing in trial had attacked the kings.
Before you could stop yourself, you got up from Caius’s lap and activated your power.
Mid movement the man stopped, half a step away from Aro trying to behead Aro just like he had done with the guards. Slowly bringing his hands down.
“What the hell happened?” Caius said, taking your hands to his.
You didn’t have any time to respond when Aro had twisted the man’s head off of his body, letting the body and head fall on the ground unceremoniously.
“I used my powers on him...” You said, finally diverting your gaze from the man.
“Aro...”
Your mate turned to look at you and you ran to him taking him into a hug.
“And remind us of what exactly your powers were...” Caius said, still very confused.
“I can control people's bodies...” You said, getting embarrassed of all the attention that you were getting.
“And you didn’t inform us of this power?” Marcus asked.
“I mean it's not really that impressive, so I didn’t see the point in it...”

Could I get some headcanons on Caius with a long-term mate? Like, they’ve known each other since they were fledglings and are one of the most solid, oldest couples in Volterra. Gender neutral reader please? Thank you!
Yes, yes, absolutely yes!
Warnings: none
Caius having a long-term mate
Tumblr media
One thing is certain: the other two kings respect Caius' mate. The majority of the vampires in the palazzo have been turned much later in time and are not as old as the kings themselves, but Caius' mate has been there with them from the start. It would be difficult to break that bond.
I can imagine his beloved being the one that urged him to create more artworks when he first started out painting. They would watch him try out various mediums over the centuries and still manage to create something beautiful.
Same goes for Caius. If his mate is particularly interested in something artistic, he would encourage them to pursue it. Money is no objective after all. He would watch them get better and better over time and smile to himself, knowing that he was their biggest supporter.
The guards respect all of their masters, but they have a special fondness for the old couple. It seems as though they are constantly filled with wonder as they watch them walk down the hallways.
However, things were very different in the early years of their relationship. It took a lot of time to form the Volturi and continually be at odds with the other covens, and the couple barely had time for each other. And yet even in those times, they found solace in each other's arms.
Caius' partner has most likely seen most of the world's wonders alongside him. He enjoys traveling and usually takes his partner with him. So, indeed, they have spent their eternal lives discovering Earth's wonders. They traveled to numerous locations over the years that have now been destroyed.
I would guess that Caius' mate was fluent in several languages, as are all of the Volturi masters. That would imply that they enjoy conversing in other languages. Sometimes they would speak in multiple languages at once. Caius could start the conversation in german, and his mate could continue in turkish. They would understand each other of course.
While most of the time Caius would stick to the classic petnames (like love, dear, darling, etc.), he might give them a nickname in another language.
He is a fantastic chess player and would definitely convince his beloved to play with him. The problem is that he's really competitive. So he would do his best to beat them in the game.
They have also met many of the great artists of all time together. Da Vinci, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rembrandt? They have all seen them from at least a distance.
Caius would paint so many portraits of his mate. There is now a whole room filled with the works he painted throughout the years. Even though it's typically shut off from the other inhabitants, his beloved is always welcome there.
On nights when Caius is very sentimental, he would tell his mate how their features remind him of various things. Like their eyes remind him of the finest pomegranate, their hair of the darkness of night/the familiarity of a wheat field/the trees of the forest/etc. He always describes it in a way that would make poets jealous.
The two have such a deep understanding of each other. They don't even need to communicate in words, because they have both picked up on the other's mannerisms. Caius really appreciates having found his mate so early because he cannot imagine his immortal life without this connection and understanding.
All I can say is that this is a beautiful relationship.

Enchanted ~ Caius Volturi One-Shot
~~~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N ~ this is probably my favorite piece I’ve ever written and I hope y’all enjoy it 💜 posting off moblie so I apologize for any formatting issues. Also this is dedicated to @felixschokehold and @mell1806-blog who helped hype me up to finally write something lol.
Word count ~ 1122
Summary ~ Your first kiss with Caius 💜
~~~
Caius had caught you walking home alone earlier in the night.
Again.
It had become quite a common occurrence for your roommate to leave you alone while she left different clubs and restaurants with strangers each night.
It did used to hurt your feelings getting left at various places, especially by her. But now you didn’t mind as much as it meant more time with your red-eyed creature who couldn’t seem to stay away from you. Just about every night he would find you, and walk home with you. Caius would gently loop your arm with his and scold you for how dangerous it was for a young woman to be walking alone at night. He never missed a moment to be alone with you, and tonight was no exception.
Sorta.
Demetri and Felix, who he described as his coven mates and in a way business partners were never far from his side. While they had been very polite in the few times you had met and gave you and Caius plenty of space, they honestly scared you more than you wanted to admit. But they were nowhere to be found tonight.
Thankfully.
Although deep down you knew they were close.
But as far as you knew, it was just you and Caius alone as you stepped into your apartment. A first time occurrence for Caius. As you showed him the small space he was quiet throughout, there wasn’t much to show. Two small bedrooms and one bathroom and then the kitchen that was connected to the living room. Caius was more curious about the space you occupied more than anything.
He curiously looked around your room as you got clothes for a needed shower, your voice filled the room as you randomly babbled about your day to him. His eyes scanned your bookshelf, which were mostly fantasy novels mixed in with various college textbooks. He ran his fingers over your unmade bed, along your notebooks filled with various subjects, and finally came back to your side to trace the bottom of your spine to the top. His cold hand made you shiver.
Setting your clothes down you turned around to face his direction. You couldn’t help but smile up at him. Eyes twinkled as you moved your hands to rest on his chest. “I’m really glad you are here,” You whispered to him.
Moving your arms you pulled him into a closer embrace. As his arms followed suit he replied looking down at you. “As am I, Mí Cara, you can learn many things about someone by the way they live. And you, for some reason, I cannot know enough of.”
Being so close to Caius almost made you dizzy. There was no heartbeat as your head rested on his chest. No warmth. Just his natural intoxicating scent. You had never been this close for it to hit you as hard as it is right now. You could stay here forever.
Thoughts of a shower knocked you out of the trance he had you in. You very reluctantly pulled away. “Let me take a shower and you can get to know me as much as you want.”
~~~~~
“It is quite rude to leave your guest waiting for too long.” He sighed, pretending to be annoyed as you sat down beside him. Caius lightly pulled you closer to his side, brushing a stray piece of hair behind your ear, before wrapping his arms around you. His amused smile came back as he looked down at your grinning face.
You couldn’t help but laugh. Time meant nothing to this creature.
“You’ve waited a long time for me, I figured a couple more minutes wouldn’t hurt.” You teased him back; Giggling as you pulled a blanket over yourself, and reaching for your phone to stream music on your TV.
Caius didn’t seem to produce any body heat or even retain heat, a blanket was definitely needed.
“Taylor Swift?” He questioned you. “I am not familiar with her music”
“Really? Never?” You were surprised, especially when he’s mentioned in the past he is a very old creature, with all that age, how could he be oblivious to her music?
“Well we will start out with my favorite song then.” Picking up the phone again, you put on Enchanted.
There I was again tonight
Forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place
Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw your face
All I can say is, it was enchanting to meet you
A small sigh escaped you as you cuddled against Caius, letting yourself enjoy the moment. With one hand you grabbed him and intertwined your fingers. They were just as pale as the rest of his body, and just as cold. The longer you gazed at them the more you noticed what seemed to be… bite marks? Scattered all over. You couldn’t help the sudden worry that came over you. Who would hurt Caius like this?
“Those scars are very old and long since healed mía cara.” Caius assured you. His voice lifted your eyes to connect with his. They were a brighter red than when you last saw them. Similar to a flawless Ruby, if they could even compare to his beauty.
“These hands have seen many battles, and will possibly see many more conflicts to come. But I can assure you these hands will never bring harm to you.” He continued, while holding your gaze. His free hand came up to gently stroke your face.
“You have not been scared of my presence the entire time we’ve been in each other’s company, I would like to keep it that way. Which will be more difficult the more you see of me and know of me. Just know Mia Cara, you are one I could never bring harm to. You have my word.” Caius promised you. His red eyes were intense with emotion looking into yours. Those words genuinely came from his heart. It left you speechless.
Speaking of hearts, yours felt like it was going a million miles a minute. You could feel every beat, every rush of blood to different parts of your body. The mix of his words and the close proximity to you had such an effect on you. And he knew.
Caius kept his eyes on yours as he slowly moved in closer. His hand which had been stroking your face, had moved downwards and rested on your neck. Feeling your warm skin and the thud of your heart underneath. His breath was cool and intoxicating as it hit your face. You couldn’t wait any longer.
You closed the gap that separated your lips.
All I know is, I was enchanted to meet you.
Can you do Caius x mate reader
❝baked goodness❞
Tumblr media
✭ pairing : volturi x reader
✭ fandom : twilight
✭ summary : (y/n) is the owner of “baked asf” a bakery which she opened with some funds she had saved up, one day out of the ordinary a man shops by and it seems it’s history from there
✭ twilight masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the air as (Y/N) bustled around her bakery, "Baked Asf." She had poured her heart and soul into this place, a dream she had pursued with unwavering determination. Every morning, she woke before the sun to knead dough, perfect recipes, and create mouthwatering delicacies that drew customers from far and wide.
It was a quaint bakery, nestled in a charming corner of the small town. Warm, golden lights spilled onto the sidewalk through the large, inviting windows, beckoning those passing by to step into a world of sweet delights.
One crisp evening, just before closing time, (Y/N) was meticulously arranging her display of cupcakes when the chime of the bell above the door caught her attention. She looked up, expecting to see a customer browsing her treats, but her gaze locked onto a figure that sent a shiver down her spine.
Caius Volturi, a name that had whispered through the town like an ominous breeze, stood framed in the doorway. His piercing crimson eyes scanned the bakery's interior, seemingly indifferent to the delicious pastries on display. His presence was a stark contrast to the warm and inviting atmosphere (Y/N) had created.
Curiosity piqued, (Y/N) approached him cautiously, a friendly smile on her lips. "Welcome to Baked Asf. Is there anything I can help you with?"
Caius regarded her with a calm and calculating expression. He had walked in merely to see what this bakery was about, but something inexplicable stirred within him as he met her gaze. The scent of her freshly baked goods was nothing compared to the intoxicating fragrance that wafted from her skin.
"No, thank you," he replied in a low, velvety voice that held a trace of an accent. "I'm just looking."
As (Y/N) continued to talk to him about her baked goods, her heart raced. There was an aura of danger about Caius that was impossible to ignore, but she couldn't deny that there was something undeniably captivating about him.
Caius, however, was grappling with a realization that shook the core of his being. He had just met his mate, the one person fated to be his for all eternity. But (Y/N) had no idea of the supernatural world he inhabited, nor did she understand the significance of their meeting.
As he exchanged polite pleasantries with her, Caius couldn't help but wonder how he could reveal his true nature to (Y/N) without driving her away. He knew that he was bound to protect her, but the shadows of the Volturi loomed over their newfound connection, threatening to engulf them both in a world of darkness and secrets.
Caius Volturi found himself visiting Baked Asf more frequently than he ever anticipated. Each time he stepped through the bakery's door, he felt an inexplicable pull, a magnetic force that drew him toward the owner, (Y/N). It was a sensation he couldn't resist, even though he knew he didn't need to consume human food.
Every evening, just before closing time, he would enter the bakery. The chime of the bell above the door had become a familiar sound, and (Y/N)'s face would light up with a radiant smile as she greeted him.
"Good evening, Caius. What can I get you today?" she would ask, her voice filled with genuine warmth.
Caius, well aware that he didn't need to eat human food, would pick up a pack of muffins or a cookie from the display, the same every time. "I'll take this, please."
He watched as (Y/N) carefully wrapped his chosen treat, and he paid with generous bills that far exceeded the cost of the pastries. It wasn't the pastries that drew him; it was the simple joy he saw in (Y/N)'s eyes each time he made a purchase. He couldn't deny the pleasure it brought him to make her day just a little brighter.
Days turned into weeks, and Caius's visits became a routine. (Y/N) had noticed his frequent appearances and had even joked about him being her most loyal customer. She had no inkling of the supernatural world he belonged to or the depth of his feelings for her.
As Caius continued his daily visits, he couldn't help but wonder about the consequences of his actions. The Volturi were known for their secrecy, and his connection to a human, no matter how innocent it seemed, was a potential risk.
Yet, he couldn't stay away. It had become more than just about (Y/N)'s smile or the satisfaction of brightening her day. It was about something he had never experienced in his long existence—a genuine connection with another soul.
The more he interacted with (Y/N), the more he craved her presence. He found himself wanting to learn more about her, her dreams, and her aspirations. He wanted to protect her, not just from the world of vampires but from the ordinary challenges that life threw at her.
Caius was trapped in a delicate dance, torn between his loyalty to the Volturi and the desire to keep (Y/N) safe and happy. As the days passed, he knew that the complications of their connection were bound to unravel, and he would have to make choices that could alter the course of their lives forever.
As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the ancient streets of Volterra, Caius Volturi prepared for his nightly visit to Baked Asf. He had come to cherish these moments, the brief respite from his duties and the connection he had formed with (Y/N), the bakery's owner.
However, tonight was different. As he made his way to the door, Marcus, one of the Volturi's most ancient and perceptive members, blocked his path. His hooded cloak concealed his eyes, but the air of curiosity surrounding him was palpable.
"Caius," Marcus began in his soft, monotone voice, "I have noticed your frequent departures each evening. I am curious about this diversion of yours."
Caius knew he couldn't evade Marcus's inquiries for long. The Volturi leader was perceptive, and secrets within the coven were not easily kept. He weighed his options and made a quick decision.
"Marcus," Caius said, his voice low and measured, "if you wish to understand, then follow me. Bring your cloak."
Without waiting for Marcus to respond, Caius turned and strode away from the Volturi castle, knowing that every minute was precious. He could sense that Marcus was right behind him, his presence silent but unmistakable.
The two vampires moved through the darkened streets, passing unnoticed by the oblivious human inhabitants of Volterra. Finally, they reached the familiar corner where Baked Asf stood, its warm lights casting a golden glow onto the cobblestone path.
Caius pushed open the bakery's door, and the melodious chime of the bell announced their arrival. As he stepped inside, Marcus followed, his eyes scanning the cozy interior. His gaze fell upon (Y/N), who was behind the counter, her smile bright as she greeted her customers.
Caius watched Marcus closely, aware that his reaction could have far-reaching consequences. The bond between him and (Y/N) was a secret he had guarded fiercely, but now it was laid bare for Marcus to see.
(Y/N) looked up, her gaze meeting Caius's, and her smile widened. "Good evening, Caius. The usual?"
Caius nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "Yes, please."
Marcus, hidden in the shadows, observed the exchange between Caius and (Y/N). He could sense the genuine affection between them, a connection that transcended the ordinary. It was a bond that neither words nor actions could deny.
As (Y/N) prepared Caius's usual order, Marcus realized the depth of his companion's feelings. Caius had found something rare and precious in this human, something that had captured his heart in a way that Marcus had never witnessed before in their long existence.
Caius paid for his purchase with the same generosity he had shown every evening. As he left Baked Asf, Marcus followed him back into the night, the weight of their silent encounter hanging heavily in the air.
The visit to the bakery had revealed more than just a secret—it had unveiled the vulnerability and humanity that still lingered within the cold hearts of vampires. Caius's connection to (Y/N) was a testament to the enduring power of love, and it left Marcus with questions that would undoubtedly reshape the destiny of the Volturi.
The cozy atmosphere of Baked Asf welcomed another visitor, a stranger to (Y/N)'s bakery. It was Marcus, cloaked in his usual hooded attire, who entered the bakery earlier than Caius, as if by design.
(Y/N) looked up from behind the counter, her curiosity piqued by the sight of the enigmatic newcomer. She offered him a warm smile as she approached, ready to extend the same hospitality she had shown Caius on countless occasions.
"Good evening," she greeted him politely. "Welcome to Baked Asf. Is there something I can get for you today?"
Marcus inclined his head slightly, acknowledging her with a nod. "Good evening, (Y/N). I am Marcus," he introduced himself, his voice low and measured.
His name sent a ripple of surprise through her. Caius had never mentioned a brother before. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Marcus. What can I get you?"
Marcus seemed content to engage in conversation, and (Y/N) found herself drawn into their discussion. They talked about the bakery, the town, and the changing seasons, all while the air inside Baked Asf filled with the tantalizing scent of freshly baked pastries.
Time passed, and (Y/N) realized that Caius had yet to arrive. She glanced at the clock, a touch of concern in her eyes. "I'm surprised Caius isn't here yet. He usually comes in just before closing."
Marcus's lips curved into a faint, enigmatic smile. "Ah, Caius can be rather unpredictable at times. But he speaks highly of you, (Y/N). He holds you in the highest regard."
The unexpected compliment warmed (Y/N)'s heart. She had grown fond of Caius over the months, and knowing that he had spoken kindly of her made her feel a connection that transcended their daily interactions.
Just as their conversation neared its end, Marcus stood to leave. He turned to face (Y/N), his crimson eyes locked onto hers. "It has been a pleasure getting to know you, (Y/N). I look forward to having you as a future sister-in-law."
His words hung in the air, and (Y/N)'s brow furrowed in confusion. "Sister-in-law?"
Marcus's smile widened, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. "Yes, (Y/N). Caius speaks of you as if you are already a part of our family. It seems he has found something truly special in you."
Taken aback by the unexpected revelation, (Y/N) stammered, "I...I don't understand."
Marcus's expression remained serene, his gaze never leaving hers. "You will, in time. Just know that Caius cares for you deeply, and that speaks volumes in our world."
With those cryptic words, Marcus departed, leaving (Y/N) with a flurry of thoughts and emotions swirling in her mind. The bond between her and Caius had taken an unexpected turn, and she couldn't help but wonder about the mysterious world that Marcus hinted at. As she continued to serve her customers, she couldn't shake the feeling that her life had become intertwined with something far beyond the ordinary, and she was on the cusp of a revelation that would change everything.
Hiiiiii I love your writing for Demetri! Now I'm curious if you would write something similar for Caius with a human mate and for Alec as adult of course for his human mate?
Caius,Alec - With a human mate
Tumblr media
warning : minors don't read, talking about some kinky stuff, Alec using his power, blood, biting
masterlist
Info : Hiiiii and thanks for the kind wors and support I hope you like it dear anon and have fun reading everyone else too :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caius :
°At first he hates it and sees no advantage in it until he realizes what effect it actually has on his heart. As a vampire who is thousands of years old and hardly among mortal men, he seems to have forgotten how good he looks. As his heart looked at him more and more often full of interest and curiosity.
°He saw the advantages of being him and her. Not only a vampire and his human buddies. But also a human woman who reacted to pretty much everything he did. Something he had taken a liking to.
°Every time he looked at her, his red eyes went over her body as she flinched, her breathing quickened and he watched with pleasure as she tried to escape from him.
°But he didn't let it get that far, he watched her in the darkness, always one step ahead and she belonged to him.
°He enjoyed how he could almost control her, even if he had no skills like the others, his slender guard between gangs and retribution was miraculous.
°He loves to use his teeth and blood. His sharp teeth running over the skin of his love. I felt her heartbeat increase as she barely dared to breathe and hissed every time her skin broke through his sharp canines.
°She clutched at the sheets and begged him to continue and stop at the same time. One of his hands was enough to push her back into the covers. To continue to stain the varnish red.
°Always and again to bite harder and more painful each time but also lovingly afterwards soft kisses over the injured skin.
°He loved when he poured a goblet of blood over your body, watching you try to hide and not give him what he wanted. Before he pressed you to him to lick the blood from your body and his cold hands made their way over your so sensitive body.
°Be sure that the nights with the Volturi leader are long, dark, full of pleading and blood. But in the end, he too will take care of your pleasure. His beautiful human wife must be rewarded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alec :
°Having a human mate is something completely new for the still quite young vampire. He looks down on humans has always and yet. But he could not lie because his dead heart was drawn to her.
°The Volturis that the humans normally hid, they were nothing more than prey for the vampires. Than what they had in them. Blood. But she was more than blood, she was everything to Alec and in return he was everything to her.
°She brought him back that little bit of humanity in his dead life. Something he actually valued and made their relationship more healing and beneficial than either of them thought.
°But as the relationship progressed, it was also that the two found each other more often at night. She actively sought him out and Alec heard her heartbeat quicken more and more when she was with him.
°His cold fingers ran over her body and she pressed herself more and more against him. She was addicted to the cold being and he to her life.
°But if there was a side to him that he had found with her, it was his devoted and at the same time challenging cruelty. The Volturi had educated him and his devotion to torture was also evident in bed.
°Not for nothing he took the lead, enjoying her soft kisses but as soon as the black mist spread around her and took her senses from her. First her sense of touch did not let her feel how he bit her did not want to hurt her unnecessarily before he gave her back her sense.
°It came back to her in full and made it all the stronger and more exciting. When he took her sight and she was at his mercy more than usual it seemed as if only they existed. He was so precise and loving with her and yet he could pursue his own pleasure.
°He made her helpless and she belonged to him while he watched her lying there in the white lacquers stained with blood from the bites. Her lustful noises he picked up and only drove him more to use his skills.
°They were nights full of black fog that took everything from her, Alec that gave everything to her and the dark red moon that took its light with it and plunged the room in only more sensual darkness.
EASIER (B)
⚠️WARNING⚠️: Edward is an asshole… BUT THAT’S NOTHING NEW AT THIS POINT… Some insults, and violence but nothing too exaggerated... Also! We kinda hate Bella but not really, because let’s be honest… Edward is kinda a manipulative bitch. Unhealthy relationships (Bella and Edward).
Pairings: male!reader x The Volturi kings.
“Very well, my dear, we shall do as you want.” Aro finished the exchange by getting closer to you and caressing your face, smiling when he noticed how you were thinking of him and his brother in unholy positions, just to avoid giving the plan away. Then he leaned towards you and kissed your lips with passion before pulling away and looking at you with a devilish but comforting smirk. “We trust you, darling.”
Every time that you say you're gonna leave
That's when you get the very best of me
You know we need it like the air we breathe, air we breathe, yeah
I love you so much that I hate you right now
it's so hard to blame you cause you're so damn beautiful
So damn beautiful
After your kings decided to trust you with the task of managing the whole newborn situation, they decided that it was time for you to have a guard on your own. In their words, it was like a special guard, formed by only the best of the best. Vampires that wouldn’t doubt at the moment of killing anything that could pose a treat to you, and that wouldn’t think twice before dying for you -even if you didn’t like that idea as much as the killing one-.
That took you to the exact moment where you stood in the middle of the grand hall of the Volturi castle, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, you were flanked by Aro, Caius, and Marcus, the three reigning kings of the Volturi and your fated mates. In front of you, a bit closer to the main door of the grand hall, the loyal and esteemed members of the Volturi guard stood. They were the vampires that your mates had designated to protect and defend you. You already knew Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix and Nikolas. There was a face that you didn’t have the pleasure of meeting before. His name was Raine from what you heard before in the hallways and between whispers, hopefully, you weren’t mistaken. All the vampire’s eyes were filled with a mixture of respect and affection. Something a bit surprising since you hadn’t interacted with the last two mentioned.
Raine, seemed to have a commanding presence and unwavering loyalty, you didn’t need to look at him too long to feel that. He stepped forward, and his gaze met yours, and, just like that, as easy as breathing (even if you didn’t have to) a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. It was comforting, like a silent reassurance of the bond you shared. At that exact moment, you understood that Raine was going to be more than a member of the guard; he would become your protector, your confidant, and maybe with time, he would be like a brother to you.
"I know you haven’t interacted as much or well… never, so… Allow me to introduce Raine," Aro declared, his smooth voice reverberating through the hall, accompanied with a deep and amused chuckle. "A formidable warrior, devoted companion, and beloved mate to our esteemed guard, Nikolas. His unwavering dedication to the Volturi and to your safety knows no bounds. So, we are sure that you will be safe with him…"
The weight of Aro's words hung in the air, affirming the significance of Raine's role not only as a member of the guard but as your protector. Raine inclined his head with pride, his eyes never leaving yours, silently reaffirming his commitment to your well-being.
Jane, the petite yet powerful force within the guard, stepped forward next. Her gaze, filled with respect and admiration, swept across the room, acknowledging the honour bestowed upon her to protect you. Her loyalty to the Volturi and her unwavering dedication to your safety was unmatched.
"You already know Jane," Marcus announced, his voice laced with reverence. "So, we hope that you know that her unwavering loyalty and exceptional abilities make her an invaluable asset to our cause. So, as your protector, she will ensure your safety with her unique gift and unyielding determination."
“Of course, my love… Jane is always welcome with me… She’s aware of that, and she knows that I’m always grateful for her presence and company…” You said softly while looking at the young girls with a warm smile.
Jane's eyes met yours, reflecting a profound understanding and shared experiences. She knew the depth of your bond with the kings and the magnitude of the responsibility entrusted to her. Not only that, but she personally appreciated you. You were like a comforting parental figure and mentor. You calmed her down when her emotions got the better of her and you encouraged her to practice with her powers. Meanwhile, you, in her gaze, found reassurance that your safety was in capable hands.
Alec and Demetri followed suit, they didn’t need any introduction at all, their presence commanding and their commitment unwavering. They had proven themselves time and again, earning their place within the guard and their role as your protectors. Besides, they were also your friends, always willing to talk with you in your free time or just spend with you the few minutes your mates were busy with they royal duties. The loyalty and shared experiences of the two vampires cemented the unbreakable bond that tied them to you. With his unwavering strength and fierce determination, Felix stood tall beside his comrades. His role as a guardian extended beyond physical protection; he was a steadfast companion, ready to shield you from any threat. The trust you had built with Felix over the time you were in the castle made him an integral part of your journey. From the moment you met, he acted like a caring and annoying older brother, always ready to mess with you and protect you when necessary.
And then there was Nikolas, a seasoned member of the guard, his wisdom and experience enriching the group dynamics. Nikolas had been by your side for countless moments, and his loyalty was never tested, because it was so obvious that he believed in the king’s rules and laws that he never need to be put in trial for anything. He was one of the oldest members of the Volturi, so obviously, his guidance and presence carried weight within the guard.
"These are your protectors," Aro proclaimed, his voice filled with pride and reverence. If you could compare your amazing mate to something else, you would think of a child in Christmas morning, when he knows he was able to get the perfect gift for someone. "They have been chosen not only for their exceptional skills and unwavering loyalty but for the love and devotion they hold for you. Together, they form a formidable force, bound by their duty to safeguard your well-being."
Of course, as Aro's words echoed through the hall, a sense of gratitude and warmth enveloped you. This guard was not merely a group of protectors; they were going to be your family, bound by love and a shared purpose. Each member was starting to play a unique role in your life, and you only hoped that with time their presence would turn into a testament to the strength of the bond you were feeling between you and them.
Stepping forward, Aro extended his hand toward you, a gesture of camaraderie and trust. You took his hand, feeling the weight of his words resonate within you. With your new guard by your side, you were prepared to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that their love, loyalty, and shared experiences would guide you through the darkness.
You approached a bit, your steps were measured and confident, a regal grace imbued in every movement. It was only when you were directly in front of your new guard that you stopped walking. "Thank you for joining me," you spoke, your voice carrying a mixture of gratitude and warmth. "It is an honour to have you by my side, to know that I am protected and cherished."
Nikolas met your gaze, his voice steady yet filled with sincerity. "I am privileged to serve you, to stand as your shield and your confidant. My loyalty is unwavering, as is my commitment to your well-being." The members of the guard, Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix, and Raine, stood alongside you, their expressions a mix of respect and camaraderie.
You smiled, a true and kind smile that was rare but obviously genuine, it was an expression that lit up your features and that was mostly reserved for your adored mates. "Together, we are stronger," you said, your voice carrying a note of conviction. "In each of you, I see unwavering dedication and unwavering loyalty. I trust in my kings' choices and I believe that we will navigate the path ahead with grace and determination."
Felix stepped forward, his gaze meeting yours with unwavering intensity. "We will protect you with our lives," he affirmed, his voice filled with resolve. "Our duty extends beyond duty itself. It is a commitment to your happiness and well-being, to safeguarding the love and connection that binds you with our kings and with us all as your subjects and companions."
Your eyes softened, a flicker of emotion passing through your features. "I am grateful to all of you, for your presence, and your unwavering support," you replied, your voice tinged with genuine gratitude. "To have such loyal companions by my side gives me strength and reassurance."
A few days later, in the dimly lit chamber of the Volturi castle, you stood before a large table where Raine, Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix, and Nikolas were gathered. The air crackled with anticipation as you prepared to give them their assignment. The kings weren’t there, trying to avoid any type of involvement with the planning in case Alice was trying to see their choices and plans. The last thing they needed was the little vampire acting like some type of prophet and trying to blame the Volturi for the newborn’s attack on the Cullens.
"Raine, Jane, Alec, Demetri, Felix," you began, your voice carrying a commanding tone. You hated when you had to act like a boss in front of your guard. You didn’t want the coven to be like that, like an enterprise, without feelings or any type of warmth, but sadly, considering how stupid the Cullens were acting and how they were about to go to war against lots of newborns that would destroy them without a second thought, you had to be serious and bark orders while thinking of a strong strategy that would help the smaller coven.
"I have a task of utmost importance for you.” You started your explanation while looking at the vampires in front of you. “The existence of our kind is at stake, and it is your duty as representatives of the Volturi clan to handle this matter with precision and efficiency."
Raine, with his piercing gaze and an air of quiet strength, nodded, his expression serious in the usually laid-back face. Jane, with her captivating aura of power and authority, even for her young appearance, stood by Raine's side, ready for any challenge. Alec, exuding calmness and a commanding presence, prepared himself for the mission. Demetri, with his unparalleled tracking abilities, exuded confidence and determination, and Felix, radiating sheer physical strength, stood tall and resolute. You knew they were all ready for whatever plan your mind had created. They would follow you without a doubt, ready to end with the threat towards your kind.
"Jane, you will take charge of the operation. Your keen intellect and combat prowess will be invaluable in this endeavour. Besides, we all know how extraordinary is your gift… Raine, the newborns probably won’t have any idea of who you are, so… I’ll need you to use your power to disorient and incapacitate them, stop their abilities, make them feel weak. Alec, reinforce their illusions and provide cover when needed. Demetri and Felix, you two will be in charge of tracking and subduing them… ensure their compliance." You paused for a moment, allowing the weight of the the task to settle upon them.
"And Nikolas," you continued, your voice filled with warmth and gratitude, "I will need you to stay by my side. You know that I consider you a loyal protector and confidant, besides… The kings would feel better if you stayed behind to protect me… You, surely know, that your presence is essential to my safety."
Nikolas, who had been standing silently in the background, nodded understandingly. He knew his duty was to safeguard you, and he accepted the responsibility with unwavering dedication. That was his main task from the moment you arrived in Volterra, to protect you, to defend you against anyone who tried to hurt you.
"While you won't be joining the others on this mission, your role here is just as crucial," you reassured him. "I trust in your abilities to protect me, and I know that I am in capable hands."
Nikolas met your gaze with a determined expression. "You can count on me, my prince…" he affirmed, his voice filled with loyalty.
After making sure that Nikolas understood why it was so important for him to stay with you while the others went to fight, you turned your attention back to the rest of the guard.
"I have every confidence in your abilities. Show the newborns the might of the Volturi, but exercise restraint and judgment. Our goal is to restore order and ensure the safety of our kind, not to needlessly destroy. If there’s someone salvageable, anyone, that would be a good addition to the clan, or if someone shows true regret and is willing to learn the rules and follow the law, let’s give them a chance. The Vulturi don’t give second chances, but let’s consider that those newborns, never had a chance to begging with."
As the team prepared to depart, you stepped forward, your gaze filled with unwavering trust and gratitude.
"Remember, you are not alone. Together, we will face the challenges that lie ahead. Your bond as a team is as essential as your individual talents. Protect one another, trust one another, and return to me victorious. The kings and I trust in your abilities and your good thinking…"
With those words, the group of Volturi representatives turned to leave, their resolve unwavering. The weight of their duty pressed upon their shoulders, but they carried it with honour and determination.
As you sat in the quiet meeting room of the Volturi castle, your gaze fixed on the regal figure of Jane as she prepared to leave. Everyone else had already left. The meeting is long over. And you couldn’t help but think that the room exuded an air of solemnity, the walls adorned with ancient tapestries depicting scenes of the Volturi's immortal reign. Maybe it was the words that were exchanged just a few seconds ago, maybe it was just how the sunlight filtered through the tall windows, casting gently rays that danced upon the polished marble floor, creating a serene ambience. You weren’t sure. Still, you had a second mission, the planning was over, and now… the second part of the plan needed to start.
Seizing the moment, you rose from his seat, your expression calm yet resolute. This was going to be quite difficult for you, but still, you knew this was necessary. Your eyes met Jane's, locking onto her crimson gaze with a steadiness that bespoke your unwavering resolve.
"Jane," You called out, your voice carrying a quiet intensity that cut through the stillness of the room.
Jane paused, her graceful movements halted as she turned to face you. Her porcelain features held a trace of curiosity, her piercing eyes sparkling with a mix of curiosity and expectation. She was ever an enigma, capable of both unspeakable power and surprising depths of empathy. Still, when you looked directly at her, she felt so young, so inexperienced in life, like a child wanting comfort and protection. Sometimes, in secret, when nobody could see your thoughts or feel your emotions, you let yourself think of her and Alec as your children. Still, you weren’t sure that it would be welcomed so you kept those feelings to yourself.
With a composed demeanour, you continued talking, your words were measured yet purposeful. "Before you depart on this mission, I have something important to convey," You stated, voice projecting a confidence borne from the knowledge that every word had been carefully considered.
Jane's brows arched ever so slightly, her attention fully captured. She remained silent, awaiting the revelation that would shape their course of action.
"In the event that you and the others discover information that could alter our plans, that could change everything," You explained, words deliberate and laden with significance, tone of voice soft but serious. You weren’t joking about this, and it was clear that you truly believed that something would change your guard’s course of action. "I ask that you exercise your judgment and take the necessary actions to ensure our success. But please, do not inform me of any such developments."
Your request hung in the air, the weight of its implications palpable. You understood the reason behind it—the need to shield the choices of the kings and your own decisions from the penetrating gaze of Alice. After all, knowing her, it was obvious that she would also see your choices related to the newborn threat. She always thought that her gift was almost perfect, and she would make sure to try to use it against any plan that the Volturi could create. The unspoken tension that had surrounded them all since the meeting's inception now found its voice in this solemn exchange.
Jane's gaze softened, her features betraying a glimmer of understanding. She nodded in acknowledgement, a silent agreement forged between you and her. Though you knew that Jane changing the plans depending on the situation would leave you in the dark, you understood that it was necessary and accepted the essential part of this arrangement, knowing it would safeguard their endeavours from the prying eyes of those who might manipulate fate.
With that, Jane resumed her departure, her figure gracefully gliding through the doorway. Meanwhile, you remained behind, contemplating the gravity of your shared secret. In this moment of quiet reflection, you took an unnecessary deep breath and prepared yourself for the unknown, ready to face the consequences of a future shaped by the choices of others. Right now, you quite loathed Alice and her stupidly useful gift.
Is it easier to stay is it easier to go I don't wanna know oh but I know that I'm never ever gonna change and you know that you're always gonna stay the same
Is it easier to stay is it easier to go I don't wanna know oh but I know that I'm never ever gonna change and you know you don't want it any other way
As the moon reached its highest point, casting a luminous glow upon the enchanting and mysterious gardens of Volterra, the Volturi kings prepared for a momentous occasion. You weren’t aware of this, but it was there, surrounded by the whimsical beauty of nature that helped them hide from the chaotic world and stay in that small piece of heaven and safeness, that they had meticulously arranged a scene that would forever mark their love and devotion into your heart.
The gardens came alive with the soft glow of innumerable fairy lights, delicately twinkling like stars suspended from the branches of ancient trees. Their ethereal radiance bathed the surroundings in a warm, romantic ambience, enveloping the space in a magical embrace.
They knew it wasn’t the best time for this type of surprise, but they couldn’t help it. They were tired of hiding you, of acting like they didn’t consider you their equal. They wanted for you to be able to stand proudly by their side when they had to judge a rebellious clan, they wanted for the rest of the vampires outside their coven to respect you and fear you like they respected and feared them. They desired to be able to listen to your ideas and plans without having to hide because of your lack of a royal title. It wasn’t fair, you were one of the smartest people they’d ever met, and they didn’t want to keep insulting you by ignoring that fact. You were their mate, the only being that was solely made to be by their side, you weren’t made to be hidden and to stay put like a trophy, you were born to rule, to protect and defend what you and they considered important. Unlike them, you showed the compassion that they had lost many years ago, and they felt that it was time that the vampires of their world had a ruler they could turn to, not only to accuse another coven but to seek help and comfort.
They looked at the garden, a cosy seating area nestled beneath the sprawling canopy of a centuries-old oak tree, adorned with cushions and blankets in hues of velvety midnight blue and rich crimson. Soft, plush pillows were carefully arranged, inviting you to sink into their comforting embrace. The idea was to show the comfort and kindness that you usually showed to them and to your friends inside the Volturi guard.
A table, draped in elegant silk, stood nearby, adorned with crystal glasses that glimmered as they caught the moon's tender light. The lack of silverware, plates and food was quite obvious, but they couldn’t do anything about that. It wasn’t like you could eat, so the idea of sharing a meal would be ridiculous and wasteful. Still, they had mixed some blood with your favourite wines from when you were alive, wanting to show you that they cared not only for the current you, but also for the things that had made you into the being they loved so much. This careful mixture of alcohol and blood was a token of the kings' unwavering commitment and affection. Just like that, from the carefully opened bottles that rested in the middle of the tastefully decorated table, a tantalizing fragrance permeated the air. It was a delicate blend of freshly picked roses, intertwined with the aroma of rich, aged blood. A symphony of scents of sorts, a harmonious combination that reflected both the beauty and the primal essence of their immortal existence. An existence that they hoped to share with you by their side.
As you entered the gardens, your footsteps were muffled by the lush grass. It wasn’t possible, not at all, but the kings could almost feel how their hearts quickened with anticipation. The Volturi guard, standing sentinel around the designated area, exuded an aura of reverence and support, they had decided to take a moment to maintain this moment untouched by the responsibilities of everyone outside. Their tasks were simple, make sure that you four wouldn’t be interrupted. Each member of the guard, adorned in their regal attire, wore a gentle smile, their eyes conveying unwavering love and acceptance.
Aro, your charismatic and visionary king, the spokesman of the three kings, stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous sparkle. "Ah, my love, we have orchestrated this moment with utmost care and affection, for we have longed to profess our love for you in a setting as extraordinary as the bond we share."
Then, Caius, your strong king, let his stoic facade softened by the warmth of his emotions and spoke with a resolute tenderness. "In your presence, we have found solace and completeness. The depths of our hearts are forever entwined with yours. Tonight, we offer you the promise of a love that transcends time and fate."
Finally, your quiet but caring king… Marcus, the always introspective, with his gaze full of profound intensity, whispered words that carried the weight of centuries. "The course of our immortal existence has been irrevocably altered since the moment we met you. Your presence fills our lives with purpose, and your love has breathed new life into our souls."
With their words hanging in the air, the Volturi kings stepped closer, their eyes locked on your own, their hands extended in a gesture of unwavering commitment. Aro, his voice both commanding and gentle, continued, "In this enchanted garden, beneath the moon's tender gaze, we ask for the honour of your hand in a union that surpasses mortal bounds. Will you become our beloved, our partner in eternity?"
This is it… They were finally asking you the biggest question of your inmortal life…
Overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of love and devotion before them, your heart swelled with emotion. Tears of joy danced in your eyes as you gazed at the kings and the extraordinary scene they had meticulously crafted. The tears would never fall, unable to find release thanks to your unnatural anatomy, but still, the emotion was there, your face and whole body were showing off the multiple feelings that were going through your heart and mind at the moment. It was a moment that surpassed your wildest dreams. You knew they wanted to marry you, you were aware of the fact that this would eventually happen but… Now? Like this? This was better than any dream, better than any imagined scenario that you had created in your mind. This was a thousand times better because this came directly from them.
You knew this wasn’t the time to be shy, you needed to convey all your feelings and you were planning to do it. Your kings had created such a beautiful proposal for you, there was no way you wouldn’t correspond to their feelings in the best way you could. So… with a voice filled with love and unwavering conviction, you replied.
"I spent most of my life until now… chasing a love that would never come true… But it’s in your arms, that I have found solace, passion, and unwavering support. To be chosen by you, to be cherished and loved by all three of you, is a gift beyond measure. With all my heart, I accept your proposal, knowing that our love will continue for the rest of our lives and that, it’s only your love, the thing that I was truly craving when I was lost….”
And the hardest part of all is that we're only built to fall
Is it easier to stay is it easier to go I don't wanna know oh but I know that I'm never ever gonna change and you know that you're always gonna stay the same
On the other side of the world, a similar, but quite different picture was starting to appear as the sun began its descent beyond the horizon, casting a soft golden glow across the meadow of the forest of Forks.
There, Bella stood on the delicate precipice between love and doubt. With the warmth of the evening air wrapped around her, mingling with the scent of grass and wildflowers, she asked herself if this whole situation was what she actually wanted. Still, she stood there, waiting faithfully doing her best to stay immobile as she waited for Edward to arrive.
Bella’s heart was heavy with conflicting emotions, doubts creeping into her mind like shadows, whispering their insidious words. She couldn’t help it, the problems, the fights, Edward's own actions in front of you and in front of the kings of the vampires, all of those little things were starting to pile up and they threaten to pour out of her heart, filling her head and soul with doubt and questions that nobody seemed to want to answer. Also, a part of her questioned if Edward truly loved her as deeply as he professed. After all, the way he reacted to meeting his ex-partner, even after he told him that it was you that was hanging onto a relationship long over, it was confusing. You had already moved on, so… Why was Edward so upset about it? Why did the brunette make such a scene accusing his ex-lover of horrible things and trying to attack them? And then… his actions towards her during their trip back to Forks, his reluctance to turn her into a vampire, to make her inmortal so they could be together forever… Did he really love her and cherish her as much as he said to do? Or were his words merely empty promises, masking a more self-serving desire to keep her in his world for a while? Like a little pet, a little thing you want to love, knowing that they wouldn’t live as long as you do… Did Edward see her as just a fleeting love? Maybe he saw her as something he could play with and pretend to love with the reassuring thought that she would grow old and die while he would stay young forever…
Bella gazed at the shimmering light filtering through the trees, the same light that had once illuminated their undying love. She still remembers the hidden encounters, the kisses in the forest and laying in the same meadow as Edward while talking sweet nothings to each other. She remember how he explained about you, about his disturbed ex-lover that dreamed of a wedding that would never happen and that fantasied about a relationship that was long dead. At the time, she was so worried for Edward, so saddened by the fact that he was tied to you, and so resentful for the fact that she had to hide her love under those threes and little bits of lights… But now, the same lights and soft shadows cast doubts upon her heart, casting darkness upon the very foundation of their relationship.
At this point, she couldn’t help but ask herself if anything of what Edward told her was even true. When she met you, you attacked her and yes, acted crazy but… were your actions really the act of someone delusional and trapped in the past? Or were those the doings of someone that was betrayed and lied to by the man they loved? Edward and herself -even if now she was ashamed of it- had made fun of you behind your back, joking about your mind being trapped in a delusion where your ex-boyfriend was still in love with you… and yet, now, she was the one who felt trapped.
She was entangled in a web of her own dreams and desires, her own personal simulated world. She felt weak, stupid… She let herself be moved by the allure of immortality, the idea of being the only one in the life of a creature that was designed to be perfect, the idea of forever being with Edward, of being loved for all eternity, the idea of being so important for someone that he was willing to ignore his own nature just to love her… that lies, that illusion held her captive. So, still with all those doubts and worries plaguing and poisoning her mind and heart, she stayed there, standing motionless, waiting for her boyfriend.
And just a few seconds later, there he appeared, a figure emerging from the depths of the forest, it was just the blink of an eye for Bella, but suddenly, he was in front of her, looking directly at her expression while his eyes glowed with an intensity that had once mesmerized her. Now, she wasn’t sure what she felt looking at that unnatural gleam in his eyes, she was just glad that he couldn’t hear her thoughts, thankful for the shield nature had given her. Edward had approached her with a confidence that both comforted and unnerved her. His voice, so sweet and melodic, echoed through the meadow, blending with the whispering breeze. She felt like he was trying to touch her with his words, cover her and hide her from the world… She used to be grateful for that feeling…
"Bella," he said, his voice laced with tenderness… but was it real? "I have loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. Every beat of my heart, every fibre of my being, longs for you. There is no doubt in my mind that you are my destiny, my forever."
His words reached her ears, but her heart yearned for more than mere declarations. Besides, his promises and sweet nothings seemed to stay there, unclear and almost impossible to be true. Did he yearn for her because of his love? Or was it because of some weird instinct that he couldn’t control? The doubts that plagued her thoughts begged for reassurance, a tangible proof of his unwavering commitment, a way to show that he truly loved her and wasn’t only following what he thought he had to do...
Was this proposal an act of genuine love, or a desperate attempt to keep her bound to him?
As Edward dropped to one knee, a small velvet box in his hand, Bella's heart fluttered with a mixture of hope and trepidation. What? She wasn’t confused, she understood what his words and actions meant but… She wasn’t even eighteen just yet… She was barely finishing high school… Did she want to tie herself to Edward without a chance of experimenting with other things in life? She wasn’t legally allowed to drink, she hadn’t thought of universities or if she wanted to work in something in particular… Hell, she was still a virgin!
But there it was… The delicate ring nestled within the box glimmered in the waning sunlight, a symbol of an eternity she had once craved. The commitment and future she once asked for… She even pushed Edward to take her back after he tried to leave her when the first vampire attacked her… Then she saved his life and almost pushed him to commit to her forever…
But…
Did she genuinely want this? Weren’t all teenagers allowed to do a couple of stupid things before becoming real adults? Still, how could she say “no”?
At that moment, looking at that gorgeous ring in that delicate velvet box and looking at Edward that was waiting for an answer with a small and charming smile, she felt the weight of his expectations pressing upon her, and she wondered if she could truly deny him.
Her mind raced, questioning the very essence of their love. Was it pure and selfless, or did it stem from a possessive need to control her destiny? Did Edward want her because of her? Or did he want her just to avoid losing something else that he considered his? Doubts clouded her mind and she knew that if she didn’t control herself, she would start shaking… Still, she found herself hesitating, unable to voice her doubts. The fear of losing him and the dreams she had woven around their future kept her silent. She spent so much time thinking of being with him. She risked her life, ruined other relationships, and forgot about the other possibilities of her future just to stay by his side, so… If she decided to say “no”, what would be of her? What would she do? At this point, she wasn’t sure if she could be Bella without Edward by her side…
At that moment, the conflict within Bella reached its climax. She couldn't deny the love she felt for Edward, nor could she ignore the doubts that now consumed her thoughts. Still, there was no more time, Edward was there, in one knee, waiting for her answer and she was about to get all that she thought she wanted… She just needed to ignore the questions. It wouldn’t be so hard, and maybe with time, she would get used to it…
And so, with a mixture of reluctance and resignation, she whispered, "Yes, Edward. I will marry you."
As he slid the ring onto her finger, sealing their fate, Bella couldn't shake the lingering doubts that were whispered in the recesses of her mind. But for now, she would bury them beneath a facade of acceptance, hoping that time would reveal the truth behind Edward's words and intentions. In any case, she at least knew that Edward loved her or cared for her to the point of wanting to marry her and that would be enough… That needed to be enough.
-It won’t be…- Her mind whispered, almost like answering to her silent promise. Weirdly enough, the voice sounded so much like yours that she couldn’t help but feel like she was making a mistake. Still, it felt like it was too late to change her mind now. She was going to marry Edward, and with that, she would turn into a vampire, like she was always meant to be. She was sure that with time, everything would fall into place. The doubt was, where would she fit in the whole picture once that happened?
Is it easier to stay is it easier to go I don't wanna know oh but I know that I'm never ever gonna change and you know you don't want it any other way
I love you so much that I hate you right now
-
Caius With A Mate Who’s A Fan of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey
-
Tumblr media
Caius would probably prefer listening to Lana Del Rey more than Taylor Swift whenever you play music.
It’s not that he doesn’t like Taylor’s music, he just prefers the production of Lana’s work more.
He’s definitely an Ultraviolence and Honeymoon girlie.
Caius supports your love for your favourite artists, on the condition you don’t love them more than him.
One time you joked that you loved Taylor and Lana more than him and he didn’t join you for dinner for 3 days.
Tells you that he should be your favourite musician because he can play almost any instrument, but he prefers playing piano.
When ‘Snow On The Beach’ was released, he learned how to play it on piano for you.
“I hope you like this, mia amore.”
He would prefer the albums ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’ from Taylor, but ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is definitely his guilty pleasure.
He likes listening to the instrumentals from Ultraviolence and Born To Die.
Definitely appreciates the poetry that’s Lana’s lyrics.
“How could a mortal write this?”
Loves Taylor’s lyrics on a story-telling level.
“Timeless is so us.”
“What does that mean?”
Gets tired when you play the same songs over and over again.
“Mia amore, please play something else.”
“I thought you liked this song?”
“You’re making me hate it.”
You best believe he got you tickets to The Eras Tour.
“Oh my god, did you like, give a limb for these?”
“… Something like that.”
He wouldn’t hear the end of you talking about what you’re gonna wear for weeks and weeks.
“Darling, please. It’s a few hours in one seat, not a ball.”
“Might as well be.”
Caius matches his outfit with yours to be supportive.
Is very confused when you yell the lyrics to All Too Well.
“Don’t I treat you better than how Jake Gyllanhaal did Taylor?”
“How’d you know that?”
“Something about a scarf.”
Has bought you every edition of every Taylor and Lana album ever on vinyl.
He actually managed to get a copy of the Lust for Life heart-shaped vinyl for you.
Listens to Lover and thinks of you when you’re away.
Aro found him sitting in his office with that song playing and asked if Caius was alright.
“Are you alright, dear brother?”
He’d put a hand on Caius’ shoulder knowing Caius wouldn’t tell him verbally and immediately understands.
“They’ll be back soon.”
“I know.”
Isn’t a big fan of pop, but endures it for you.
He would never ask to put on anything that you like, but would secretly hope that you will.
When the love songs come on, he’ll dance with you if you’re up for it.
Lover, invisible string, willow, and Timeless, are his favourite Taylor Swift songs to dance to with you.
Religion is his favourite Lana Del Rey song to dance to with you.
The gifts he gives you are very catered towards your love for Taylor and Lana.
As well as his declarations of love; he often quotes their songs.
“You’re my religion, mia amore.”
“You going to shoot me, nephew? Kill me in front of everyone – your wife, friends, unborn child?” Aro smiled. “Would be a shame for poor Vanessa to explain to the Volturi heir that his father is in prison or perhaps dead because he killed his poor, defenseless Uncle Aro. You don’t want that for your son.” Caius’s hand shook as the barrel of the gun pressed against Aro’s forehead. “Vanessa, darling-“His eyes shifted towards me. “You don’t want your son to be without a father, do you?”
I watched as he walked into the bathroom – his bruised eyes focusing straight ahead. It had been almost nine hours since I last saw him – Aro and his goons “setting him straight” after the stunt he pulled at the funeral. He said very little as he entered our room – the sight of his appearance causing my jaw to drop in shock. Blood stains splattered across the white shirt he wore underneath the suit jacket – his dress pants covered in dirt and dried blood. I removed myself from the bed as I followed his steps, slowly opening the door as the steam from the shower poured out. His dirty clothes littered the floor as his silhouette shown through the fogged glass.
I began to undress – my hand going over the bump as I took a deep breath. The warmth from the shower floated past the door as I stepped behind him – my arms instinctively wrapping around his middle as I rested my head against his back. His rigid body slowly starting to relax as he placed his hands on mine. We stayed like that for a few moments before he turned, brining my body close to his. We were both silent as I examined his face – bruises and cuts – all at the hand of his darling uncle.
“Don’t worry about me, love.” His voice heavy.
I reached up, gently touching his face as tears welled in my eyes. How could Aro do that to his own nephew, his flesh and blood? They were both hurting from the loss of Marcus – this was uncalled for. “I’m sorry.”
He shook his head, “You have nothing to be sorry for, sweetheart.” His hand softly resting on my stomach- our eyes locking. “I understand why you didn’t tell me.”
I stared off into the distance, tears welling in my eyes as the dishes shattered against any hard surface in the kitchen. He arrived home in a state of rage – partially due to the alcohol that he had previously ingested. His face was battered and bruised at the hand of his uncle and his henchmen. Everything was suddenly my fault – Him not being able to be there with Marcus – Marcus’s death – The strain the Volturi family was now under. All of it. All of it was my fault and bringing a baby into the mix was the straw that was now breaking the camel’s back. I flinched as his hands grabbed roughly onto my bare arms, no doubt leaving marks where his fingers dug into the skin.
“Caius!” Charlotte’s voice echoed through the room as she tore his hands off of me. “Are you out of your mind?” Her arms wrapped protectively around my body. “This is your wife – the mother of your unborn child. You have no right treating her in this manner – no right at all.” He rolled his eyes as he stumbled backwards. “Stay out of it, Charl-“
“I will do no such thing, Caius.” Her voice stern. “I practically raised you as if you were one of my own and I am ashamed – appalled of your actions.”
I stayed silent; my eyes settled on the marble flooring. “This is your wife, Caius. What happened between your uncle is not her fault and how dare you blame her for the trouble he has caused. He needs to be the one you’re yelling at – turn your anger towards him, not your pregnant wife.” I glanced up – our eyes connecting. “If I see one more bruise or hear you yelling at her again, you will not like what I do, dear Caius.”
A smirk appeared on his face, “Are you threatening me, Charlotte?” His voice dripping with venom. “
She took a step forward, “Don’t cross me, young man…”
We didn’t speak to one another for over a week. Caius kept his distance – sleeping in the guest room and doing all his business outside of the house. I wasn’t going to be the first to crack. I wasn’t the one who was in the wrong. Don’t get me wrong, I missed his warmth and touch, but I wasn’t gonna crack just because of that. I kept busy by helping Charlotte out in the garden or going around town, visiting the different shops and landmarks. Even though he wasn’t speaking to me, he made sure that I was being watched 24/7. Two men perched outside the house and three trailing behind as I ventured around town.
“So what time is the appointment?”
I placed the fork back onto the dish, “3:15 is the ultrasound and then I see the doctor afterward.”
She smiled, “How lovely!”
Today was the day I would find out the gender of the baby – our baby. I had texted Caius to let him know about the appointment but he never answered to tell me if he was coming or not. This was the visit I had been dreading the most – the fate of the Volturi family was in my hands and today was judgement day. Aro’s words ran through my head daily – A newborn male was what the family needed – a male heir that can lead the Volturi name into the next generation.
“Would you like to go with me?” Her eyes connecting with mine. “I mean –“ I paused. “I messaged Caius to let him know but he never said anything. Don’t want to experience this moment alone.”
She stayed silent for a moment, “I appreciate the gesture, sweet Vanessa but don’t you think your mother should be the one going?”
I hadn’t spoken to my mother in almost four months – not since our wedding day. She never tried to call or reach out – no one did. The only famly I had left was the one I married into – a bipolar husband and his mentally unstable uncle. Even though she wasn’t a Volturi, Charlotte was the only constant I had. She was the mother figure I now needed in my life -especially now that a baby was involved.
I shook my head, “No.” I answered. “You don’t get invited to something like this when you’ve abandoned your daughter over money. I want you to be there with me, Charlotte. You’ve been nothing but gracious and loving towards me since I’ve arrived. I consider you to be family – you’re like a mother to me.”
I could tell my words really touched her – and they were the God’s honest truth. My mother had no idea I was pregnant – and she would never know at this point. “Alright, dear –“ She paused as she untied the apron. “Let me gather my things.” I watched as she walked towards her room, the sound of another set of footprints entering from the backyard. “Dearest Vanessa.” Aro’s sinister voice sounded – my body turning harshly as he approached. “Glowing and beautiful as ever.” His eyes moving up my body, the smile on his face absolutely sickening. I instinctively placed my hand over my stomach – protecting the child anyway I could.
He circled me like I was a poor, defenseless prey in the wild – his eyes never leaving mine.
“Where you off to this late in the day?”
I cleared my throat, “I have a hair appointment.” I lied. “I’m taking Charlotte with me.” His eyes narrowed, trying to see through fact or fiction.
“Is that so?”
I nodded my head, hitching my purse strap higher on my shoulder. I wouldn’t think Caius would tell him that today was the gender reveal appointment- he didn’t even reply back to my message when I told him. Aro and Caius – from my understanding- were still not on speaking terms. Caius did his business away from his Uncle, choosing to pick up certain things that belonged solely to Marcus.
“Well hopefully not too short, darling –“His hand reaching out for the random strand that has fallen from the clip. “Us Volturi men are suckers for long hair, especially when it belongs to a beautiful woman such as yourself, Vanessa.”
I felt like I needed to take another shower as his eyes continued to rake down my body – his hand slowly running down my arm as he released the strand.
“Vanessa?”
A sense of relief washed over me hearing Caius’s voice as he walked toward his uncle and I – a protective arm pulling me into his side. “Everything okay here?” He directed the question towards Aro.
I glanced between the two men as they glared at one another – the sickening smile from before etched back onto Aro’s face. “Peachy, nephew. Just speaking with your lovely bride about her new haircut she’s getting. Told her how much we love long hair on beautiful woman.”
Caius looked down at me, his eyes searching mine. “She’ll look beautiful no matter what she does with her hair. Be a lot easier with short hair when the baby gets here.”
This was the first time he acknowledged our child.
“Oh yes – my future great nephew.” Aro smiled. “Can’t wait for the little guy to make his appearance and learn all about our family – become the future leader of the family. We have lots to teach him, dear Caius.”
Caius stayed silent, his fingers curling into my sides. “What child wouldn’t want to be born into a powerful family such as ours – loved and feared at the same time.” He paused for a moment. “Isn’t that right, Vanessa?” I chose not to answer, shifting my body into Caius’s. “Well-“ His smile fell. “Don’t want you to be late for your important meeting, darling.”
I watched as he slowly walked away, looking back as he did before exiting the room. I let out a sigh of relief as I felt Caius’s body relax as well. We didn’t say anything to one another at first – the air awkward between us.
“I got your text.” Caius spoke.
I nodded my head, “Yeah-“ I paused. “Charlotte is going with me, so you don’t have to worry.” My tone was short. “I’ll put the picture in your office so you can see when you get back.”
His eyes stayed glued to the floor as the room became silent once again. I didn’t have time to play this game again. Sighing, I started making my way towards the door, his icy hand wrapping around my wrist, turning me towards him. His blue eyes glassy as his looked at me. “I’m sorry for the way I acted, Vanessa. It was a shit thing to do, and I never meant any of those words.”
“I had to hear that you're fucking knocked up by Aro in front of God and everyone else at that fucking funeral. Do you know how that makes me look, Vanessa? Do you know how that makes you fucking look? You don’t even tell your own fucking husband that you're having a baby, but yet my uncle knows before I fucking do!”
Tears fell from my eyes as he yelled – glass shattering on the floor as he continued his tantrum.
“Not only do I have to deal with Marcus’s death and the wrath of Aro, now I have to worry about your ass and that fucking baby. I got enough shit to deal with already, Vanessa. I don’t need to worry about a fucking child right now. Sometimes I think you do things on purpose – was getting pregnant one of those things? You already had it in your mind that you wanted to get knocked up and possibly leave me and make me give you child support?”
He walked closer to me, towering over my body as I sat back in the chair. “How do I even know that’s my baby?” His eyes moving down my body. “For all I know you could have fucked around with Michael or Daniel. Fuck-“ He chuckled. “My uncle wants an heir so badly for this family, you could have fucked him just so it had Volturi blood in its body.”
My hand collided with the side of his already bruised face – the crack echoing throughout the kitchen.
“I better go.” I spoke. “Charlotte’s waiting for me in the car.”
He hung his head as I pulled my wrist out of his hold. I was still hurt by what he had said but I was afraid to just let him back in again. He was drunk when he spoke those vial words – drunkenness always brings out true feelings. I wanted to believe that his apology was sincere, but I couldn’t take that chance right now…
I couldn’t stop looking at the ultrasound picture. Tears rolled down my cheeks as the bold word on the photo mocked me. I was supposed to be happy and ecstatic after finding out the gender of my child – trying to pick out names and the design of the nursery. I had all those thoughts in my mind but either side of the coin spelled trouble not only for myself but for my child.
“Vanessa, darling –“Charlotte comforted me. “Let’s get you something to eat, dear.” Her eyes searched mine. She was in the room when the technician told us the gender. She smiled as I looked over at her but deep down, she knew what I was thinking.
Alexander was always a name I liked for a little boy. Alexander Blake Volturi was the name I had placed together weeks ago as I researched names. I had more boy names picked out – my fear being that it would indeed be a little boy. This was what Aro wanted – needed. I would often pray that it be a boy – too afraid to think of what he would do if it was a little girl. Even though I wanted a son – my heart ached because I knew what his future held. He would become just like his father. Groomed to take over the family business and legacy.
Charlotte and I stopped at a little dinner outside of town – both wanting somewhere quiet and low-key. We ate in mostly silence – making small talk here and there about how the food was and if the other was okay. The drive back home was short as the radio filled the silence. I wished Charlotte goodnight before walking towards the kitchen, the sight of Daniel and Michael shocking me as they spoke with Caius. Their conversation coming to an end once they saw me – tight smiles on their faces as they greeted. Ever since Marcus’s death, Caius had become closer to the brothers – Daniel more than Michael. My encounters with Michael still fresh in my mind – his dislike towards my husband still present in his body language. I didn’t bother sticking around, telling my husband that I would see him upstairs. The ultrasound picture feeling like a ton of bricks inside of my purse.
The ice rink was bathed in a soft, ethereal glow as (Y/n) glided gracefully across its surface. Her figure skating routine was a mesmerizing blend of elegance and power, a testament to years of dedication and passion. The audience watched in awe as she executed flawless jumps, spins, and twirls, her movements a dance of grace on the frozen stage.
In the dimly lit VIP section, three figures sat in silence, their eyes fixed on the enchanting performance. Aro, Caius, and Marcus, powerful vampires who had walked the earth for centuries, were bound not only by their immortality but also by their shared affection for (Y/n). They watched her every move with a mix of pride and anxiety, knowing that this was her last performance as a human.
(Y/n) had been living on borrowed time, caught in a twilight between her humanity and the vampiric world of her three companions. The decision to turn her into one of them had been made, but before the transformation, they had agreed to grant her one final moment of normalcy.
As (Y/n) gracefully glided across the ice, her eyes sparkled with determination and a hint of sadness. She had known this moment would come, the day when she'd leave behind the life she had known and embrace a new existence as a vampire. Yet, the love and connection she shared with Aro, Caius, and Marcus made the transition bittersweet.
Aro's keen eyes scanned the audience, and he couldn't help but notice a tall, striking man sitting in the front row. His strong arms were crossed, and his piercing gaze was locked onto (Y/n). Aro's brow furrowed slightly as he recognized the man as a fellow vampire, one who had expressed a keen interest in (Y/n) since her arrival in their coven.
Caius and Marcus, sensing Aro's unease, exchanged knowing glances. They too had noticed the newcomer, and their jealousy began to simmer beneath the surface. The trio had vowed to protect and cherish (Y/n), and the thought of another vampire vying for her attention stirred possessive instincts they had thought long dormant.
As the music swelled and (Y/n) performed a breathtaking combination of spins and jumps, the tension in the VIP section grew palpable. Aro, Caius, and Marcus could no longer contain their emotions, and their eyes locked onto the mysterious vampire in the front row.
The final note of the music echoed through the rink, and (Y/n) struck a graceful ending pose, her chest heaving with exertion. The audience erupted into applause, but her gaze remained fixed on the enigmatic vampire in the front row.
Little did she know that this final performance had not only captivated the human audience but had also ignited a dangerous spark of jealousy and rivalry among the three vampires who held her heart in their cold, immortal hands.
As the applause continued to echo through the ice rink, (Y/n) took her final bow, acknowledging the adoring crowd. The mysterious vampire in the front row stood and joined in the applause, his eyes never leaving her.
Back in the VIP section, Aro, Caius, and Marcus exchanged tense glances. The performance had been breathtaking, but the presence of the rival vampire left an uncomfortable knot in their immortal hearts.
(Y/n) made her way off the ice, her skates gliding effortlessly across the smooth surface. As she approached the VIP section, she was met with the intense, expectant gazes of her three vampire companions.
"A magnificent performance, my dear," Aro purred, his tone dripping with charm as he extended a hand to help her off the ice.
(Y/n) offered a weary smile, her heart heavy with the impending transformation that would sever her ties to the human world forever. "Thank you, Aro."
Caius and Marcus remained silent, their expressions tense and unreadable. Their thoughts were consumed by the stranger in the front row and the undeniable attraction he seemed to have for (Y/n).
Unaware of the brewing storm in the VIP section, (Y/n) excused herself to change out of her skating attire. The moment she disappeared behind the curtains, Aro, Caius, and Marcus huddled together in a private corner.
"We cannot allow another vampire to interfere in our affairs," Aro hissed, his usually composed demeanor fraying at the edges.
Caius, known for his quick temper, clenched his fists. "This newcomer seems intent on claiming (Y/n) for himself. We must put an end to this."
Marcus, the most contemplative of the trio, spoke up, his voice measured. "We've promised her one final night of normalcy. We cannot act rashly. Let us observe and gather more information."
Reluctantly, Aro and Caius agreed to Marcus's suggestion, though their jealousy and protective instincts continued to burn within them.
(Y/n) returned, dressed in a simple, elegant gown, her hair cascading in waves around her shoulders. She rejoined the trio, sensing the tension that hung in the air.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, her concern evident.
Aro forced a smile. "Nothing to be concerned about, my dear. We were merely discussing some matters of the coven."
(Y/n) nodded, though she couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted. The presence of the rival vampire had cast a shadow over what was supposed to be her final night as a human.
As the evening wore on, Aro, Caius, and Marcus couldn't help but keep a watchful eye on the stranger in the front row. The rivalry that had been ignited threatened to consume them, and the complex bond they shared with (Y/n) hung in the balance.
The atmosphere in the VIP section remained charged with tension as the evening progressed. (Y/n) tried her best to enjoy the festivities surrounding her final performance, but the lingering presence of the mysterious vampire continued to cast a shadow over the night.
Aro, Caius, and Marcus, despite their attempts to stay composed, couldn't help but feel a growing unease. They watched as the rival vampire, whose name remained unknown to them, approached (Y/n) with a confident stride.
(Y/n) greeted him with a polite smile, unaware of the invisible battle of wills taking place among her vampire companions.
"Congratulations on your stunning performance," the rival vampire said, his voice smooth and charismatic. "I must say, I've never seen such grace and beauty on the ice."
(Y/n) blushed at the compliment, her heart fluttering. "Thank you. It's a bittersweet night for me, as it's my last performance before... well, before a significant change in my life."
The stranger's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, there was an unspoken connection between them. Aro, Caius, and Marcus watched with growing unease as the conversation continued, their possessiveness fueling their internal turmoil.
"Change can be both daunting and exhilarating," the rival vampire replied cryptically, his gaze never wavering. "But sometimes, it opens doors to unimaginable experiences."
(Y/n) was intrigued by his words, and a part of her couldn't help but be drawn to the enigmatic newcomer. He seemed to understand the complexities of her situation, something she hadn't expected from a stranger.
Meanwhile, Aro, Caius, and Marcus exchanged frantic, silent communication. Their jealousy had transformed into a deep-rooted fear that this vampire could steal (Y/n) away from them, disrupting the fragile balance they had maintained.
As the night wore on, (Y/n) continued to engage in conversation with the rival vampire. They shared stories, laughter, and moments that felt oddly intimate, leaving her both enchanted and conflicted.
The tension among the trio of vampires reached its breaking point. Aro, his eyes flashing with a mix of anger and desperation, stood up abruptly and approached (Y/n) and the rival vampire.
"My dear, it's time for us to depart," he said, his tone cold and final.
(Y/n) blinked in surprise, torn between her connection with the newcomer and her loyalty to Aro, Caius, and Marcus.
The rival vampire nodded politely and stepped back, his eyes never leaving (Y/n). "Until we meet again."
Aro, Caius, and Marcus escorted (Y/n) away from the rival vampire, their grip on her both physical and metaphorical. They couldn't allow anyone, not even a charismatic rival, to come between them and the woman they had grown to love.
As they left the event, (Y/n) glanced back at the stranger, a sense of longing and curiosity tugging at her heart.
In the days that followed the memorable night at the ice rink, (Y/n) found herself torn between her growing connection with the mysterious rival vampire and her unwavering loyalty to Aro, Caius, and Marcus. Each moment she spent with the newcomer ignited a spark of curiosity and attraction, and she couldn't deny the profound effect he had on her.
Meanwhile, the three powerful vampires were consumed by jealousy and fear, unable to shake the feeling that their complex bond with (Y/n) was slipping away. They had protected her since coming about her, and the thought of losing her to another vampire was unbearable.
The day of (Y/n)'s transformation into a vampire arrived with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. She had chosen to undergo the change willingly, knowing that it was the only way to be with the three vampires she loved. They had made her feel special, cherished, and she couldn't imagine her life without them.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, (Y/n) stood in a secluded room within their grand estate, surrounded by Aro, Caius, and Marcus. The newcomer was conspicuously absent, as he had respected their wishes not to intrude upon this significant moment.
Aro, the leader of their coven, stepped forward, his dark eyes reflecting both pride and sorrow. "My dear (Y/n), are you certain of your choice? Once this transformation begins, there is no turning back."
(Y/n) nodded, her voice steady but her heart racing. "I've never been more certain of anything in my life. I want to be with all of you, no matter the cost."
With that, Aro, Caius, and Marcus encircled her, their cold, marble-like hands gently touching her skin. They closed their eyes in concentration, and the process of transforming her into a vampire began.
A rush of sensations flooded (Y/n)'s senses as her body underwent a profound metamorphosis. The pain was intense, but she clenched her teeth and endured it, knowing that this was the price she had to pay for eternity with the ones she loved.
Hours passed, and finally, the transformation was complete. (Y/n) opened her eyes to find herself surrounded by her vampire companions, their expressions a mixture of relief and affection.
Caius, his voice filled with emotion, spoke first. "You are now one of us, (Y/n). Welcome to immortality."
Tears glistened in (Y/n)'s eyes as she embraced each of them in turn. She had made her choice, and she had no regrets.
In the weeks that followed, (Y/n) adjusted to her new existence as a vampire, learning to control her newfound powers and cravings. The mysterious rival vampire, though never forgotten, faded into the background as she focused on her life with Aro, Caius, and Marcus.
But fate has a way of weaving unexpected threads into the fabric of our lives. One day, as (Y/n) explored the coven's sprawling estate, she stumbled upon a hidden chamber. Inside, she found a portrait of the mysterious vampire, his eyes hauntingly familiar.
Her heart raced as she realized the truth: the enigmatic newcomer was not just a rival but a figure from her past, a connection that would challenge the bonds she had forged with Aro, Caius, and Marcus.
As she stared at the portrait, a new chapter in their complicated story began, one filled with secrets, revelations, and a love that transcended time and immortality.
