I love in Howls Moving castle how Howl feeds Calcifer eggshells, not just because it's cute, which it is, but because Calcifer is a chimney fire, and burning eggshells (and lettuce) is an old school way to prevent soot build up in chimneys. It's basically small insight into this guy's anatomy, plus it's cute to see him munch.
