For part b, am I missing something? Why am I getting 1/2(3-ln2) instead of 1/2(1-ln2)? On the mark scheme it uses rcosθ=sqrt(2) for some reason??? I’m so confused

People out there brainstorming ways of slithering away from chrollo’s grasp when I would simply make that mf do my differential equations and advanced multi variable calculus assignments until it led him to the state of insanity possessed by the average stem major. He can tolerate me being a pain in the ass but there’s no soul in this mortal realm that could survive my assigned tutorial sheets where I must utilize u-substitution more times than I have seen my family in the last academic year. Me forcing him to do tensor calculus and/or coding assignments would simply be the cherry on top of his self inflicted downfall.
good God multivariable calculus. I am yet to hear anything good about that course. I'll be taking that next semester so let's see how it goes 🫡
"but there’s no soul in this mortal realm that could survive my assigned tutorial sheets where I must utilize u-substitution more times than I have seen my family in the last academic year" anon that is HILARIOUS but also so very sad. I had to do u-substitution 4 times in an assignment question and i lost my remaining will to live with that. Make him do the coding assignments. He likes to learn right. Make. Him. Learn.

Genuine question cause I don't know what to do. I'm currently pursuing a computer science associates, and so far I've hated it. I've had two mental breakdowns specifically in relation to my calculus classes (a pretty bad one for the Calculus 1 final, and about a two week-long extended one leading up to the Calculus 2 final). My therapist believes that I should change my major, and for a long time the one that seemed the most appealing was something related to psychology. The idea of being a therapist sounds really nice in theory. My parents on the other hand believe that it's a terrible idea, they think that being a psychologist/counselor/therapist, especially if I decide to go through with transition, (they're not supportive of me being trans) will make me poor. I can't do math well, I feel as though I have undiagnosed ADHD or something similar. I feel so lost and don't know what to do. Any advice or experience being a psychologist or therapist, especially one who is queer would be greatly appreciated, cause I'm receiving two very different perspectives on whether or not it would enable me to live well.

Fun fact about me is that I'm terrible at math. This was due to a series of unfortunate moves which put me so far behind that I was still doing remedial math courses in college.
But I got tired of saying I suck at math. I thought, I'm still alive, and anything can be learned with application, so why don't I get a workbook and try to improve?
Thus I wandered into the kids' section of the bookstore and perused their elementary school study materials to see where things had started going wrong.
I walked away with two fourth grade math workbooks.
My goal is calculus.
Maybe I'll never have a natural aptitude for math, but hard work goes a long way. And forcing my brain to think in numbers instead of words will be good for it. Everyone should keep learning as they age, y'know?

ultimately the thing about the, "how dare the rest of Bells Hells debate whether to save the gods or not when Orym's family was killed by the people trying to kill the gods" take is that a personal tragedy is not a determinative argument, especially wrt an issue this fundamentally world-altering. its completely understandable that Orym finds the deaths of Will and Derrig inextricable from this topic. what's being demanded of him emotionally is enormous. but nothing about being in opposition to the gods requires that someone take the actions Ludinus and the Ruby Vanguard have taken, and they are far from the sole representatives of this ideology. and Will and Derrig's actual feelings regarding the gods had very little to do with their deaths.
(and, really: if the deaths of Orym's family makes questioning the gods' place unconscionable, than what does Aeor make of supporting them?)
beyond that: the discomfort of a single individual does not disallow a topic from discussion. it's an indication to tread lightly, with care and patience for that individual. but it is not grounds to consider a conversation as vast and complex as this one decided. especially given that Orym is far from the only member of the Hells who has intense emotions and traumas tied up in this; Orym's feelings should not take precedent over, for example, the negative experiences Ashton and Laudna have had with gods and their followers.
but also, like, even if you truly believe that anyone being ambivalent or antagonistic towards the gods in this situation is self-centered and wrong, unconditional support is simply not where the Hells are at. and if they don't talk about it now, they're gonna have to talk about it later, when they're being asked to put their hand on the scale and there's mere moments left to act.
