I NEARLY FORGOR! IT'S TIME FOR MY FIRST WEEKLY CALISTHENICS REPORT
tagging my gym bros (everyone who left a like or reply under my post last Monday, please tell me if you don't want to be tagged in subsequent reports) @cockabout @captainhunnicutt @bloodyrose666 @keytaryourheart @uncontrol-freak Not sure if could've done it without your support, my friends <3
I've managed to stick to the hybrid routine for 6 days in a row (today's been a rest day, so I'm not counting it because I didn't have to make myself exercise. But yeah, technically 7)!
Recorded my reps so you would know I didn't cheat: Monday: 10+10 knee pushups, 30+24 knee raises Tuesday: 15+13 horizontal pullups, 20+20 full squats Wednesday: 12+10 straight bridges, 3*60 seconds each side full twists Thursday: 10+10 knee pushups, 30+20 knee raises Friday: 50+50 wall pullups (because I didn't want to go outside just for that, eh), 20+20 full squats Saturday: 20+20 straight bridges, 3*60+ seconds each side full twists (I would just close my eyes and forget about watching the time lmao, so it usually got to about 90 seconds)
General notes: for some reason my brachialis muscles were sore as hell after horizontal pullups, while others were completely fine. I'll make sure to be more careful next time and do fewer horizontal reps and swap the rest for the wall variation.
I'll also try to gradually introduce cardio. My general stamina SUCKS, I get out of breath too fast, so. Maybe someday I'll even get to jogging, but I'm not sure, I've always hated it. However, now I always take the stairs instead of the elevator (unless I'm carrying something heavy), so hopefully that'll help a little.
It's hard not to compare myself with what I could do when I was a teenager (I was a swimmer as a kid and I kept being quite athletic for many years even after quitting). But I haven't really done any fitness since the last PE class at university, which was in 2020, so it's totally understandable I'm not as strong as I was back then. I'm really proud of myself for having done this for a whole week, though! I'm ready to go for another week! And hopefully another one after that... and so on...

Leech Lord : Appetite
Tumblr media
(Ty and Sei under the cut)
Troy
The first time Sei had seen him eat had been on the second day of being awake on her ship after his fever had broke and his twin had taken the opportunity to rest. If she didn't already have a million red flags screaming for her attention, this one would have floored her.
Troy swiped all of the food on the plate into the center, messily carved through it with his knife, then just shoveled it into his mouth. He didn't actually look like he was chewing it, not even finishing choking down a heaping spoonful of mismatched food before moving to scoop up another.
Seifa had chuckled as he reached for a third serving and he'd frozen... staring at her guiltily from under his hair while shaking like a kicked Skag-pup. Her laugh had caught in her throat. It hadn’t been funny.
He learned very quickly in the first couple of months that he didn't need to do that anymore. They'd never discussed it and never really do, but the manner in which Troy ate had developed from many, many years of being expected to feed himself and Typhon. There was never enough. He'd wolf down whatever he could get his hand on as quickly as possible before anyone else could notice and point out he should be sharing.
Some horrible mix of guilt and desperate hunger had shaped it, and it took him months to be able to relax while eating. He'd never really learned how to use cutlery either. Leda had died too early and left them with a parent who figured all you needed was a good knife, never noticing how much their one armed child struggled to prepare his own plate without ending up mixing bite sized pieces into a mound he could eat as quickly as possible.
Troy's obsession with "Fitting In" and learning social graces means he stopped doing this in public very quickly, but when he's very relaxed? If he's around people he doesn't feel on edge with?
All the food goes into a pile in the center of his plate, and he laughs at any looks of disgust aimed at him.
It tastes better this way, he swears. You get ALL the flavors at once!
When it comes to his body, If Troy did absolutely nothing extra on top of his normal life routine, he'd retain his lithe wiry physique with no effort. That's who he is, it's his default build.
Sadly, he is also God King Calypso, and Calypso has sculpted abs, lats you could grate with, and needs enough definition at all times for the camera to pick up... so Troy has to work.
Hard.
The problem is, Gods don't need to put in effort to look good, they are flawless, above human, so Troy's routines are something he keeps completely private.
He struggles to maintain weight even on a healthy day and tends to substitute a lot of daily calories with shakes, tasteless protein slabs ; anything he can hork down in a couple of minutes at the start or end of his day without eating too much time.
He's hyper aware of his appearance always, to a very unhealthy level. Will deny spending hours on sleepless nights poring over comments about his physique on media, would be offended at the implication but.. it's Troy. Of course he does.
He relies on the calisthenics of carrying the massive prosthetic for a lot of his general definition, but has a simple setup in his project room in sanctum for his morning routine. Pull-up bar for shoulder/back, hanging crunches for his stomach, and he runs.
He loves running.
It's almost as relaxing as climbing out in Pandora's craggy hills at night for him. He'll run on the high end treadmill in the corner of that room untill he pukes, and often does.
He knows he's not really going anywhere, but when he closes his eyes and focuses on the burn of his shaky lungs and the fire in his chest as sweat drips down the crease of his spine, he's not Troy anymore. Not Calypso at least. Maybe DeLeon, chasing down the Manta his snare injured.
He's not here, he's not on Pandora for those 30 minutes, he's free in a body pulsing with pain and life. He’s somewhere else. Someone else.
Then he showers, drapes the God King's bloodied skin back over himself, fixes the mask in place... and steps out of his Sanctum.
Tyreen
Ty very rarely eats at all, but when she finds something she can actually taste like an extremely sour kind of citrus or highly spiced and smoked meat, she really takes her time enjoying it. She eats very slowly and will chew what’s in her mouth till there is barely anything left to swallow just to pull as much flavor out of it as she can.
She far more often enjoys smelling food than eating it, and will usually have a plate full in front of her at any celebration or feast to enjoy the aroma even if she won't be able to taste any.
She loves watching other people eat and not in a remotely sinister way. If she's surrounded by people eating and you pay enough attention go the God Queen, you'll catch the genuine smile as she flicks her eyes around the table and enjoys the satisfaction and happiness surrounding her.
Very often asks Troy to describe how things taste to her when they are out of the public eye. He knows how to describe using the right smells and memories for her to be able to imagine the sense she's missing.
Snotty little shit when it comes to smoking though, is convinced she's got an amazing palette for the tastes and mouthfeel of different blends. Doesn't, Troy just lies about what he rolled for her 90% of the time and hides the smirk.
Ty's never noticed any changes in her body regardless of how much energy she gluts on, so doesn't really put any actual effort into maintaining it. She's always... the same.
Even during periods of having very little of substance to feed on while growing up, she never got thinner. Just hungrier. The Leech seems to be highly tuned to making sure its host does actually get everything she needs to be healthy, though she's not sure if that's really a good thing. She'd rather have that control herself.
Ty is active enough in her day to day to retain a fit look, but she swims a LOT and is pretty sure it's to thank for her tone. She doesn't do it to stay looking tight though, that's just a nice bonus.
There's a private room sized pool along the balcony of the twin's upper cloister that overlooks the plains Pandora's main sun sets across, and letting herself sink under that cool fresh water has always felt like it's wiping away the day's sin. When she's left with just the thrumming of her heartbeat in her ears and the pressure of the water silencing everything else, she's herself - slipping through the crisp waters of the lake they lived by on Nekro.
Troy's a poor swimmer and avoids doing so in general, this is all hers and hers alone. Something she's great at and he's always struggled with. It's nice to be reminded as the water laps at her skin, that she's good at some things that are normal.
Seifa
Is a trash can and was shocked to find out that's not actually the norm.
The migrant colony she grew up in under Boss was NOT picky about food, couldn't be. With a constant flow of new faces from different cultures and planets as well as not having a sure flow of supplies, you ate what you got and where happy for it.
None of them ever went hungry, but you'd not question what you were given and half of the time you'd never even find out what it was. She's got a highly varied palette but no idea what a lot of the things she's eaten in the past actually were, so only tends to realise she's eaten something before when she's handed it again as an adult.
Puts a huge amount of seasoning in everything, too much for some people, but that's part of her past too. Food wasn't always fresh, spices hide spoilage.
Likes to cook and tries to do so for friends often enough, it's one of her newly created family-esque rituals she isn't aware she's doing within the HC. Getting people to her ship for evenings to eat and sit, talk about the week, unwind, and gently bully Troy as he turns red and stammers to remind everyone he's a fucking God and they should watch their mouths, all while trying not to let how happy he is to be included show.
She has a massive sweet tooth and really enjoys fruits.
Sei is a vain little shit and puts a lot of energy into maintaining her appearance which includes her preferred weight and strength.
Years of lifting and pulling heavy machinery and parts have given her a decent enough core for her size and that's not something she needs to put a huge amount of thought into as it's still involved in her day to day job, and she doesn't actively exorcise in general, but she's the kind of person who weighs herself every morning and night and plans her meals ahead to match fluctuations.
She'll skip breakfasts, feed friends and not plate food for herself sometimes. She devotes more brain power to managing her own stats than a lot of other people would, but like all of her weirdness with numbers and control - she thinks it's totally normal.
She's not super fit, toned, or strong, but she's at a happy point with each for where she wants to be and likes the look of. There aren't enough hours in her day to be lifting weights or sweating on cross trainers. She's found other ways to manage that don't involve actively working out.

Vynblr lurker here. Do you have any head-canons about the Enderal characters' (and maybe your OCs', also) workout routines? This sounds like something you'd have an idea of.
hello friend! thanks for the ask! i think i have some opinions on this but keep in mind that i can barely even figure out my own workout schedule, so i’m going to give a vague idea of what exercises they focus on rather than an actual schedule. also assuming that some modern forms of exercise have been invented for them. i hope that’s ok?
jespar - torn between him only exercising casually and him being a gym bro. either way jespar doesn’t do much cardio. he’d love group exercise though. he’s a bit competitive with himself regarding how much he lifts or how long he exercises for. either way i don’t see him as very interested in fitness, really only doing it for health, functional ability, and sometimes as a social opportunity.
calia - i see her lifting heavy, but not powerlifting if that makes sense. generally a balanced workout, doing long sessions of everything rather than splitting it up between days. i also see her doing a lot of kickboxing and in modern times, pilates. she meditates afterwards so the exertion doesn’t work her up.
tharaêl - a lot of bodyweight calisthenics. i don’t think he would have access to much equipment. i picture him being very flexible. i think he would be interested in things like hiit or tabata. only slightly related but he probably overworks himself unnecessarily.
dijaam - she’d probably be a runner and a swimmer, mostly, maybe play a casual sport like tennis or volleyball, and not really do much strength training. similar situation to jespar, she exercises mainly for health, not because she enjoys it.
lishari - another social exerciser, i feel like she could be part of a running club or a crossfit. it’s usually unexpected to others but she’s quite fast and quite strong. maybe also uses friendly competition to motivate her. i definitely picture her running, hiking, and generally cross training.
yuslan - for some reason it’s difficult for me to picture yuslan’s workouts, i think it’s because he’s a private person and thus no one besides him knows, but i picture him doing a lot of endurance work, low intensity for a while. also tends to overwork himself.
firespark - everyone assumed he didn’t exercise, maybe only stretched or did fantasy seniorcise, BUT he gets really into group exercise. if he knew about zumba he’d love it.
marisa - now this one i’ve thought about extensively. every time i do plyometrics i think of marisa. she also does a lot of sprinting and general power moves. she has zero endurance but when pressed, has a lot more strength than apparent.
elurah - elurah loves exercising, both running and strength training. also has a fair amount of endurance. in addition to practical training, since she’s quite a physical fighter, she likes slow-paced heavy lifting, and outdoor jogs.

I took a few days off to clear off my mental. Describing the last few days as rough is an understatement. Opted to move and find some normalcy. No better way to do that than do this upper body torture fest that coach crafted for me. I added in my @moveloops for some of the workouts as an extra challenge to swimmer's calisthenics routine and worked heavily with resistence bands for my dryland exercises. I chose 10 of who knows how many workouts that I did last night; the burn is definitely here this morning. Yesterday's Workout: Rowing: 647 strokes (Distance Unknown) Cycling: 8.68 miles, 35 mins, 15.1 mi/hr Swimmer's Calisthenics Routine: 24 mins Dryland Exercises: 24 mins #runningfatchef #fatrunner #hokaoneone #womenwhofly #stayathome #homeexercises #drylandtraining #calisthenics #quarantineworkout #quarantine (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-mUHf_ngmq/?igshid=1v9drh921th9t

Hey I saw your exercise post and I was wondering if you knew how to loose hip fat (make your hips smaller)? Thx
Hey, thanks for the question!
I’m gonna be straight-up honest and tell you this: there isn’t truly a way to target losing fat. You can’t lose fat in just one area. But I can tell you what worked for me to make my hips seem less wide from the fat distribution (besides going on T, that is).
I started noticing my thighs and hips looked slimmer and toned when I started lifting weights consistently – and this was pre-T. People think cardio is the only thing that burns fat, but strength training does that, too. And building muscle mass can help you look less “soft” if that’s also a concern of yours. Muscle mass also builds differently than the fat, so your body will kind of go through a recomp just from the exercises.
So what I’d do is I’d hit the gym at least two times a week with full-body workouts to try and tone up and get stronger. If you don’t want to do full-body workouts, do a 4-day split, where you alternate upper and lower body days (example: Monday and Wednesday: upper body, Tuesday and Thursday: lower body). It’s important that you don’t just train legs. If you can bulk up your upper body, it will also help your hips look smaller. If lifting weights isn’t your thing, find a sport to play and rope some friends into it, try out calisthenics, try out different fitness classes if you can afford it, go biking, go swimming (that is, if you’re a good swimmer), or try some at-home workouts (there are a lot of good ones online. youtube is a great resource for that because they usually show you how to do the exercise). Any kind of exercise will be good for this kind of thing.
Generally, to lose fat, you try to eat less, but if you’ve never been really active, you should be eating the same amount or more just because your body won’t be used to the stress exercise puts on it, and not feeding it will stress it out even more and make the process harder. Your body will be adapting to the hard work, so don’t starve yourself to try and lose weight.
I hope this helps at all. If you have more specific questions, hit me up with more asks or dm me! I’d def like to be able to help.

History of Women's Swimwear and Sports Fashions
This entry is part 3 of 30 in the series CheeseCake Pinup Magazine - 1953
This article claims that Annette Kellerman, who started swimming to overcome infantile paralysis (Polio), was groundbreaking in making more practical swimwear acceptable and invented her own style of one piece swimsuit.
On this page are pictures of famous early 20th century swimmers including Annette Kellerman, Gertrude Ederle (the first woman to swim across the English Channel), Eleanor Holm (Aquacade star), Esther Williams (movie mermaid), and Florence Chadwick (who in 1952-53 beat Ederle’s record).
The next section gets into the history of sports education and fashions for women on college campus. Elmira NY college girls played ten pins in the 1870s, and the 1910 ideal exercises consisted of balancing candles on your back (for posture) and camping outdoors. Then, to show the evolution of sports fashions, there’s side by side pictures of women playing basketball in the early 1900s vs the 1950s. Underneath that, is a photo of 1920s gals fencing while wearing silk stockings and baggy sweaters.
Did you know that shorts for women were invented in the 1930s?
Neither did I! This article asserts that Amelia Bloomer didn’t invent bloomers, she merely wore them, and although they didn’t ever become fashionable on the street, they were a big advance in women’s sportswear until shorts were invented in the 1930s… Shorts gradually made their way out of the gym, thanks to campus fashions becoming general (eventhough in 1953 Radcliffe barred short shorts, but allowed long shorts).
These next few pages contain pictures of the original bloomer, women at Wellesley rowing in 1904, women wearing knickers for hiking in 1921, formal calisthenics in 1917 vs 1950s, a woman from the 40s wearing capris, and 1950s women in pants and shorts.

Oh wow… tons of new FIT Family members!!! Thanks again @bossbabe.inc for the love! Allow me to re-introduce myself. My name is Crystal, 😝but my friends and family call me Crys. Hence, Fit by Crys! My journey: I found my passion for fitness during my own weight loss journey. At age 30 I tore my ACL and gained almost 50lbs. But it was the best thing that ever happened to me! Because out of that suffering, FIT BY CRYS was born. Not only did I lose the weight, I became a Fitness Competitor, got a bunch of certifications, and obtained a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. I found my purpose and have been hustling ever since. About me personally: I have a fur baby named Sasha and she is hilarious. She needs her own Instagram! I also have a fiancé named Justin. We started dating in the month of October, got engaged in the month of October, and our wedding is (or was) planned for the month October……… TBD on that one. And no, the dress pictured is NOT the dress. My favorite food is anything sweet, particularly the Quadruple Almond Butter Cookies and Scandinavian Swimmers from @traderjoes. YES… I’m a trainer and I’m talking about cookies. I have a MAJOR sweet tooth, so over the course of my fitness journey, I’ve learned to put a healthy spin on delicious treats. I’ve posted a few of those recipes on my blog (linked in bio). You don’t have to hate your food in order to be healthy. That’s a miserable existence don’t you think? Another fun fact: I’m a major germophobe so I won’t be returning to the gym any time soon. Home workouts & calisthenics it is!!! As a former gymnast and cheerleader, I’ve witnessed first-hand that optimal fitness can be achieved with minimal equipment. So, that’s how the FIt Fam and I will be working out for the time being. Welp.... that the short version of the story! WELCOME!!! 🤗 #bossbabe #fitbycrys #womenliftingwomen https://www.instagram.com/p/CBEBuU7JkGH/?igshid=k6nlt2j804v5

The weekend is here!!!!!!!!!!! Yay for Saturday! Here's a throwback to my lovely time in KL, which I'm missing very much at the mo, because the last 5 days were a killer. I don't talk alot about work since it's better to leave all of that in the office where it belongs, but I'll touch a little on that this year so you guys know what my life is like.
Well, on Wednesday afternoon, my boss nominated me for a sales pitch meeting the next day. The meeting went ahead in the morning, and we were told to prepare our parts for the slides. I did mine within 3 hours, rehearsed like a lunatic, then we did a group rehearsal yesterday morning and it was all wrapped up by the afternoon. When it comes to crazy timelines and productivity... well, welcome to a slice of the corporate world here in Asia 😅😅
It's precisely because work can get stressful that exercise is so critical to my life. I need the dopamine release, the adrenalin rush and the energy boost to get me through rough challenges. I've been fortunate to find a substitute activity for the sports I used to play before the auto accident and this was what enabled me to pursue my personal fitness for years.
Everyone is different and what suits someone else might feel like absolute torture to me. Take swimming for instance. No shade to swimmers or those who love it but oh god how does anyone stand the cold?!?!?!?!?!?! If I had to do that, I'd give up in a week! So it's great to see curvy babes branching out in order to find the physical activities they prefer AND, most importantly, enjoy.
instagram
LOVE LOVE LOVE this lush blood red!!! 💞💞💞
instagram
This message is so important. Exercise should never feel like torment or punishment. If it did, I would never have been able to continue being active.
instagram
Honestly, it took time to finally find what I like to do. I instantly fell in love with calisthenics when I tried the basic exercises and, the bonus is, I didn't need the gym at all. Over the years, I challenged myself with more complex exercises and felt euphoric when I could do 1 more rep! That was - and still is - what kept and keeps me going.
instagram
So whether it's classes, a sport or being outdoors, it's great to see these lovely ladies exploring other avenues to get active. I hope whatever they love to do improves their mental health like calisthenics has done to mine.
Till the next post, stay sweet!
