FEMSLASH FEBRUARY 2024 #15: In which Cameron and Donna give a presentation
[CN: food/cooking mention] . . When they were asked to be the keynote speakers at an inaugural conference for marginalized groups in tech at a large and prestigious research university, Cameron agreed on the condition that Donna do most of the talking. “I will gladly stand up there with you and chime in where necessary,” she’d said, while stirring a nearly ready risotto, “but you’re better at this sort of thing, so it should mostly be you.” Donna didn’t want Cameron to be sidelined, but reluctantly agreed to this.
Cameron convinced Donna to be inspired by her own poolside speech from the night Cameron was supposed to leave California indefinitely, to focus on how partnerships evolve over time, and make the work worthwhile even when they eventually dissolve. Eager to contribute equally, she also made the slide show to go with their remarks.
The slide show began with childhood photos of each of them, and their remarks started with short biographies of the both of them. Donna described her upbringing in 1960s Dallas, and her awkward teen years, and her discovery of computer engineering. She told the audience that Cameron wanted her to tell them that she was a former beauty pageant winner (she had used her Little Miss Perfect portrait in the slide show), and that she had called Donna a bitch the first time they’d worked together, all to appreciative laughter from the audience. After that, Donna talked the audience through decades of their careers, while Cameron clicked the slide show through photos from Cardiff, COMDEX, Mutiny, AGGEK, Atari, Symphonic, Comet and Phoenix. After explaining her personal belief that partnership is about finding a new project to work on, in both our professional and personal lives, she and Cameron shared a short, final montage of photos from outside the office - pictures of them, and also Haley and Joanie, and Gordon, and J0e, and Bos, and Diane and Risa and Tanya and Dr. Katie Herman and Lev and Yo-yo and their families, at barbecues and camp grounds and birthday parties and graduations, and one final photo of Cameron and Donna on their wedding day. Cameron found herself tearing up over it, even though she’d spent hours assembling it.
After which Donna made her concluding remarks: “Being a woman in STEMS is hard. I know. It sucks. Being queer in tech, and feeling like you should be hiding something about yourself is hard. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a scientist of color, and to see so few people who look like you and understand where you come from every day at a job that you love, where you’re trying to build something for people. But you are here. You’re here to work, and you’re also here to live, and I know that you can do this. “You won’t necessarily get to have it all, and you might not even want it all. But if you are very lucky, and you work very hard, you can get what you need.” The end of their presentation was met with a standing ovation and riotous applause, which was followed by a brief q and a.
Most of the ‘q’s were from young women, who asked Donna and Cameron which of their accomplishments they were most proud of, what they would do differently, and what new policies and practices they thought might be most helpful for young software and hardware developers with limited resources. The whole thing was a lot more pleasant than Cameron had expected, until the next to last question.
Alexa Vonn came up to the microphone. “My question is for Cameron.”
“Hello, Alexa,” Cameron deadpanned.
“Do you think that you’re easy to work with?” Alexa asked.
Cameron fought the urge to burst out into hysterical, self-conscious laughter. “No.” The audience laughed again. “That’s why I’ve worked with Donna for most of my life. She’s very aware of my limitations and where I struggle to communicate.”
“Okay,” Alexa said, “then my question for Donna is, do you actually like working with Cameron?”
Donna grinned at her. “Honestly? I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Alexa pressed, “Even with all of the ‘ups and downs’ you glossed over in your presentation? The two of you were famously estranged for many years, weren’t you?”
“‘Famously’ feels like an overstatement,” Cameron said.
“How did you come back from that?” Alexa asked.
With a hint of irritation in her voice, Donna said, “Well, you start talking. Maybe because something terrible happens, like your ex-husband dies suddenly and tragically young. And you realize that some things are more important than petty grudges. So you keep talking. Does that answer your question?”
Before Alexa could answer, Donna said, “Great! It was very nice to see you Alexa, thank you for your questions. I’m sorry that you and Cameron didn’t get to fully realize the project you worked on, it sounded really interesting.”
After the final question (“favorite app?”), Cameron and Donna went into the ladies’ room for a few minutes. Donna went over to the sinks, put her hands on the counter, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.
Cameron waited for a second, and then said, “So that mostly went really well, right?”
Without opening her eyes, Donna snorted, but didn’t say anything. She took another deep breath.
“The way you shut Alexa down? Hot.” Leaning against the wall, Cameron said, “I kind of like it when you’re a bitch.”
Donna grinned at Cameron, an arched an eyebrow suggestively.
“Still,” Cameron frowned. “We kinda deserved that after some of the shit we’ve pulled at other people’s presentations, huh?”
Donna looked over at Cameron, and then started to laugh, a real, deep belly laugh. The sound of it made Cameron smile, and think, there’s literally nothing better than this.

I genuinely like this fancast, Rhys is perfect, amarantha too, and nyx or bone carver is amazing
(I've never linked a link in a word before on Tumblr so I hope it works lol)
OH MY GOD I am so sorry, I put this in my drafts and never actually posted it.
lets break it done below the cut a little bit.
I am totally on board with this rhysand fancast, him or richard deiss, I would be happy with either. as for feyre, personally I do not like josephine langford for this role, I don't think she could convincingly play someone I would believe almost starved to death and could hunt, and do all the trails, I just don't see it. I love her, but I just don't like her for this role. mor, okay, so, margot robbie would smash the role, we know she has the acting capability, and she's gorgeous, but I just want someone else. I want someone new, margot is always the hot blonde, like, I want a fresh face. but, I wouldn't be mad if it was her, I just think there's a geat opportunity to be had.
cassian and azriel, we know I love, since they're also my fancast options. I like the fancast for tamlin, a lot, actually. like, I'm really on board with this one. elain and nesta, I'm cool with those, nothing particularly to say, I like them. lucien, yes, amarantha, sort of yes. I love jessica chastain for this role, but again, I want someone more evil-ish. I like bryce dallas-howard. the big curly hair and the snarl when she was victoria from twilight? now imagine that with red nails and an eyeball ring. just saying.
ianthe and tarquin? love. jurian is a no because joseph morgan is my eris. if you've met klaus mikaelson, you know joseph would make a perfect eris. king of hybern is a big ol' no because that man is not evil enough looking, he looks like he'd give me his biscuit if mine broke. archeron father? too evil looking. the man is supposed to be pathetic for the majority and weak, that is a man with fire in his eyes. no. I love him, but he's too strong-looking.
cressieda, yes. vivianne, no. we can't just fancast blonde dove cameron for everything, she is not our vivianne and she has no place in acotar. I love her, but no. gwyn I can vibe with. it doesn't make me ecstatic, but I can work with it.
and the bone carver/nyx? undecided, aiden gallagher just looks so god damn serious, I feel like nyx wouldn't be that serious, feyre and rhys would work hard to make his childhood happy, nothing like the childhood those two had, they wouldn't want that stress on him. I don't hate it, though.
kallias, no. helion, no. suriel, I fuck with it, that would be hilarious. eris, no, but I would love to see sam claflin in it somewhere, even just a tiny role. emerie, yes, weaver, big big yes, beron, I can work with that, I think he'd do a good job. thesan, sure, varian, personally not at all how I pictured him, john boyega just doesn't give off the right energy for me. vassa, yes, alis, no, bryaxis, big no don't just cast smaug because he'd done a voice over for something threatening before absolutely not. the rest, eh.

Roswell, New Mexico: Dear Mama (4x04)
This episode is going to be difficult for me to classify. I feel like I can list a million things I don't like about it, but at the same time I enjoyed it over-all? Like, my list of complaints is going to give a misleading impression as to my real feelings. I don't know. Let's just dive in.
Cons:
Starting in subplot land... Anatsa feels like a waste of time now that we've seen the end of her story. I get it, she was never going to be endgame with Isobel, but why drag out four episodes were Isobel can't get up the nerve to tell her truth, and then have Anatsa end things right before Isobel actually tells her? Anatsa had so much potential to be an interesting character. Imagine the angst potential, if Anatsa knew the truth and couldn't stop herself from doing her job as a reporter anyway. It would be an interesting parallel to Liz's science putting the aliens at risk. Instead, all the hesitation and Isobel getting a pep talk from Cameron... I don't know. I'm left feeling like a lot of the time we spent with Anatsa was completely pointless, and that's not how I want to feel. Also... Cam saying she still wonders about Max makes me irrationally angry, I really didn't need to know that. Sigh.
So... Mimi is a character with such a confusing place in this show's history. I feel like so much of what was set up with her in season one of the show never came to pass. She was our sympathetic character who nonetheless seemed genuinely afraid of aliens taking over the world. And now she's gone, and her death felt so random, right at the start of the episode. I guess part of my complaint with Mimi's death episode is that I wanted it to be something it was never trying to be. I wanted to understand Mimi more. I wanted Maria to get more of a focus in an episode that should have been all about her, but instead she only gets a sliver of screen-time. I wanted Liz and Maria and Alex and Rosa to all be together to mourn for this woman who took care of all of them in different ways. Instead, we get Dallas comforting Maria, what else is new... I don't know. It just felt kind of cheap for me, to have the whole group together at the start of the episode in the bar, saying they're going to be there for Maria, and then immediately they all scatter to the winds to do alien research stuff. I wish this show spent more time on the friendships! I wish Liz and Alex, who are supposed to be Maria's best friends, could have spent this episode focused on her!
I miss Alex, which is a given... this was an episode where I wish we could have started to ramp up on people realizing something's wrong? It's maybe just a minor pacing thing but Liz and Max are out in the desert, and I thought maybe they'd find a hint of Alex. Eduardo is kidnapped and rescued and mind controlled, etc. etc., you'd think someone would want to check in at Deep Sky, and maybe then realize that Alex hasn't reported in... I don't know. Mimi dies, and Alex never calls anyone back about it? Maria doesn't even get a text from him over it? It just feels like there were opportunities here for someone to start to be slightly suspicious, and none of them were used at all. A bummer.
So... the Bonnie kiss thing. Honestly it doesn't make me that mad, but I wish it hadn't happened because this fandom is so mean to anyone who is perceived as a threat to Malex... I don't know, I feel very torn about the whole situation. On the one hand, I'm glad it happened quickly instead of dragging out. It would have felt insulting and pointless to try and pretend that Bonnie/Michael was a real possibility, so I'm glad we didn't get the narrative trying to push us there. On the other hand, what was the point of giving Bonnie a crush on Michael in this way? If it's a way of building her character, showing how she's lost and looking for comfort, then okay, fine. If it's just there so Michael can reaffirm is love for Alex, then... it's completely unnecessary, we really didn't need the outside confirmation. However, if this moment is the prelude to Bonnie helping Michael on his quest to save Alex later in the season, then I'm okay with it! I guess you could say I feel torn about whether this needed to be there at all, but I'm not furious it happened or anything.
Dallas as a character needs to be more than just Maria's support. So far this season we've mostly had him supporting Maria and Michael on their various issues. We saw some hints of him working with his powers this week, and I hope that continues, because it's not exactly a good look to have basically your only dark skinned character existing to be emotional support for everyone else, and nothing more. Just throwing it out there.
Pros:
Like I said, I actually really liked this episode overall, and my complaints above are not enough to deter me from that! Tezca as a shapeshifter is a twist that really works for me. Much like how season one had the whole "who is the fourth alien" thing going on, now we get the fun of not being able to trust that people are who they say they are. Odds on Alex coming back, but it actually being Tezca? That would be intense and so much fun to play around with! The effects on Tezca shifting between herself and Cam and Eduardo were laughably bad, but in that charming way that I kind of adore. We've got Eduardo and Cam mind-whammied and then seemingly abandoned, and then this third alien running around causing havoc, we've got Jones potentially resurrected (although I hope they fail in that)... basically, lots of fun alien mysteries abound, and I'm ready to see more of it.
I like Liz having that moment to break down about Mimi, that felt really good and cathartic. I do wish Maria had gotten more focus, but for what it was, I really did like it. Shivani's moment of comfort was so sweet. Liz deserves strong maternal friendships in her life!
While I wish we had more of a focus on Maria this episode, I do like that we've got a mystery to solve with her mother. That could be a cool thread to pull, and hopefully she'll find a way to be connected to her powers again without putting herself at further health risk. Maria's story throughout the seasons has always been about finding her sense of identity and community, so I can't wait for more of that.
Kyle is putting together more of the puzzle pieces on a trip to his family's original town in Mexico. I'm glad to see Kyle have a story that's not just about pining after Isobel, but I also did love the moment with her, where he continues to be a totally great guy and the two of them have adorable chemistry... come on, Kybel... I'm rooting for you...
Max and Liz are simply the cutest this whole season? "You are my turquoise", are you kidding? So cute. I wanted Max to pull up some sort of evidence of Alex in the desert, but the scene with the truck was still super cool, and Liz jumping on him and kissing him warmed my heart. These two deserve all the sweet and happy vibes in the world, after what they've been through on the road to get here!
We get two Alex mentions this episode, both from Michael. I like that he calls to tell him about Mimi, although I do wish the show spent more time acknowledging that Alex and Maria are supposed to be good friends. I guess that's what fic is for.
The second mention is the Bonnie kiss situation. Despite my mixed feelings on this even happening, I really do like the time we spent this week with Bonnie, Clyde, and Michael. I think there's a lot of interesting stuff going on there. Clyde is something of a fanatic, a pupil of Jones who doesn't like Michael sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong. I loved the scene with the tracker ring and Michael setting his own hand on fire to destroy that evidence and also reveal who he is. Clyde doesn't seem to fully trust him, but he is intrigued by him and his role in events, given their dead boss, and Michael showing up as his apparent heir.
And then there's Bonnie, who honestly seems like she's spent most of her life not knowing who she could really trust, letting herself be manipulated by Clyde. No wonder she started crushing on Michael, a gentle, kind man who says he's here to help. Honestly, I love what this plot thread does for Michael's character. He's managing to walk the tightrope, find out new information from Bonnie, learn about his home planet, while still doing what he can to help Max and everyone else discover the truth about these new aliens and their plans. He's really matured and grown into a stable person who's comfortable in his skin. Also, of course, my heart did indeed melt to hear Michael say "I have a boyfriend, and I'm kind of completely in love with him." I miss Alex so, so much, but if the episodes he's not in have lines like that, it's hard to complain too much.
So that's where I'll leave things. I can't believe we have nothing new next week, that I have to wait two whole weeks for my next dose of this show! Maybe a glimpse of Alex or Rosa, my missing beloveds?
7.5/10

NCT 127 as musical theater characters I think they would do well as
*Quick note before I start: I'm listing characters I think they would do well PORTRAYING on stage, not who I think they are similar to personality wise. For each member, I'll say one role I think they could play with little to no effort (marked as NATURAL), as well as one role I think they could nail if they tried hard and put in the work for (marked as CHALLENGE). For each role, I'll try to put a small explanation for the choice but some I just feel are right lol. Not every role mentioned is the main character of its musical. This post is the result of my mind being fixated my entire day on the subject lmao. Feel free to give your opinion on my picks and add your own <3. Click the keep reading if you're interested
Taeil
(NATURAL) Raoul from Phantom of the Opera
In my opinion, this is a pretty simple role in both vocals and acting. Vocally, Taeil would nail this with no problem. Acting wise, the main emotions this character shows are being in love and being worried, not too difficult tbh. I don't know if he has shown any interest in being in musical theater but this would be a good debut to the stage. Iconic musical but simple af role
(CHALLENGE) Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Okay. Hear me out. It was between this and the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera but imo no one under 40 can give the Phantom everything it deserves so I pick this role instead. Vocally, I think Taeil can hit all the notes for this role buuutttt the challenge would come in the acting. The emotions needed for this role are more complicated and would take a lot of feeling lmao.
Johnny
(NATURAL) Aaron from Mean Girls
Johnny is one of the members I found very difficult to pick for because I don't see him wanting to pursue stage musicals at all but I can see SM convincing him to try just for some solo activities. This role is for anyone to play tbh *cough* Cameron Dallas *cough*. Not much is demanded vocally or in acting, honestly it might be too easy for Johnny but it'd be a nice role for someone not too invested in musical theater.
(CHALLENGE) Monty from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
Okay. Hear me out... again. This is a role I think only Johnny of the members could play. This is probably one of the most difficult roles on this list and I'll tell you why. It doesn't have a bunch of high notes, and the ones that there are, I think Johnny could hit or easily opt down. The role however, says A LOT in a small time and has many tongue twisters (See the song Poison In My Pocket (almost like a rapper,,,, you see?)). Not only that, this role moves around a lot so energy is nonnegotiable (See the performance for I've Decided to Marry You). The character has to be charming, lovable, energetic, comedic, awkward, and cartoon-like all at once, which I think Johnny could nail with practice. Check out the musical and imagine Johnny in it, tell me I'm wrong.
Taeyong
(NATURAL) Zach from A Chorus Line
Who is Zach, you're probably thinking. Well, it is the director in the show who is not seen in most stage productions. Taeyong was the absolute hardest to choose for because, like Johnny, I don't see him being even mildly interested in musical theater, but unlike Johnny, I don't see Taeyong ever being convinced to try but I still wanted to include every member. The character of Zach is often never seen, just heard. Not even singing, just talking. On days Taeyong wants to do something else, he can just prerecord all his lines and just show up at the venue by curtain call, the crowd wouldn't even know *wink wink*.
(CHALLENGE) King George from Hamilton
This probably seems like an odd choice but boom. Like I said, Taeyong doesn't give musical theater vibes so a guest role with minimal stage time would suit him best. The songs this character has are all comedic so vocally, it doesn't matter much. Tae is a good singer but a better rapper, so if he hits the notes, he gets praised for vocals, if he doesn't, he get praised for his comedy as long as he plays it off as such. Plus, it would be a nice nod for him to be in a musical with rapping, even if his role is singing.
Yuta
(NATURAL) Light from Death Note the Musical
We know Yuta can do this role. Not much to debate. Vocally, he can hit the notes, no biggy. Acting wise, he has it in the bag. boom
(CHALLENGE) Bobby from Company
This is nothing like the natural role I picked for him, thus it'd be a nice challenge for him. Vocally, I think he could do it with some parts adjusted or opted down. This is another one where the challenge is mostly in the acting. On the surface, Bobby is a guy that everyone likes and counts on which Yuta can relate to, but there is something a bit more under that Yuta would have to act out well.
Doyoung
(NATURAL) Prince Charming from Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella
He has played a prince before so this wouldn't be much of a stretch. His voice would be beautiful in the role (imagine him singing this song,,, ughhhhhh just one chance Doyoung, one chance). This character is just being in love emotion wise, so pretty simple.
(CHALLENGE) Fiyero from Wicked
This role would fit Doyoung so well! The main challenge would again be the acting. He would have to flirty to the point of being slightly douchy and very full of himself lol just for the first act though. The second act, he has to be a bit more complicated.
Jaehyun
(NATURAL) Link from Hairspray
Pretty easy role: be hot, be in love, be a good dancer. Jaehyun could nail it and make it iconic.
(CHALLENGE) Jack from Newsies
Another acting challenge. Not only acting, the DANCING bro. I think he can hit the notes but he'll have to put sooo much emotion in it (See the song Santa Fe).
Jungwoo
(NATURAL) Olaf from Frozen
Sigh Do I even have to explain this one? The role of course has this childish innocence that Jungwoo would portray well. Vocally, he has it down since it's not hard. Most difficult part would probably be controlling the puppet tbh.
(CHALLENGE) Orpheus from Hadestown
Take that same innocence from Olaf but take away the childish part. Jungwoo would nail it. We know he can sing better than he lets on, I want him to show off a bit. This would be the most we've seen of him acting wise, but I think he'd do well with practice.
Mark
(NATURAL) Sonny from In the Heights
Rap heavy role. Acting wise it shouldn't be too hard, a mostly mischievous and joke-y role with some serious parts.
(CHALLENGE) Laurens/Phillip from Hamilton
This role is also rap heavy but with some moments of vocals, which I think would suit Mark well! He'd need to work with the acting part, especially for the dying scene. Bonus will be him acting as a child in Take a Break lol.
Haechan
(NATURAL) Alfred from Alice by Heart
If you know this musical, we are now married, I don't make the rules. Haechan can be pretty dramatic yet comical which would be nice for this role. Acting wise, this could be a hard-ish role but if I was casting for a production in Korea rn, I would trust him for it. This would be on the lower end of his vocal range but he'd kill it.
(CHALLENGE) Moritz from Spring Awakening
Acting challenge part 298. This is a mostly serious role, same with the entire musical which deals with some messed up topics. It'd be hard for both nctzens and Haechan himself to stay in such a mindset when we have seen how excitable he can be, but that would make the character's eventual death that much more powerful. He would nail Don't Do Sadness, even if he took it up some to fit his naturally lighter voice. We know that Haechan could kill a rock song if he wanted to, so a whole musical that has a big rock influence? He'd freaking clean house
Thank you, that is all.

Truth or Dare
Prompts: 81. Don’t argue. Just do it. Fandom: Digitour Member: Bryce Hall Warnings: Swearing Word Count: 1151
*PS I don’t think NIck has been on tour with Digi but for the sake of this, he has.*
Tumblr media
As you waited for Bryce to finish setting up the camera with Nick, you waited on the hotel’s bed with your best friend. You were all on tour for Digi and today was one of the days where you could all just relax. So you thought it would be fun to film a truth or dare video collab for your channel.
Once the camera was set up, you sat in the middle of the bed, Bryce on your right, Nick on his right and Victoria on your left and you started your intro. “What’s up guys, it’s (Y/N) here and today I am here with three special guests...” I stopped, looking at each of them, waiting for them to introduce themselves.
“Bryce Hall.”
“Nick Bean.”
“And Victoria West.”
They all introduced one by one. ”And we’re going to be playing an interesting game of truth or dare, I sent out a tweet asking you guys for some truths and dares and I had Tyler write them down on some paper and but it in a bag. But before we do, we’re currently in your with Digi and there are still tickets to some shows so go to the link in the description and cop some tickets so that I can see all of your beautiful faces and we can take pictures and have fun, okay?“ I said, waiting a few seconds before continuing. “Good. Well now that’s settled, moving on to the game. Who wants to start?” I asked, looking at the others.
When nobody replied, I looked at the camera dramatically and sighed. “I guess I’m first then.” I groaned, putting my hand into the bag of truths that Nick was holding. Taking out a small slip of paper, it read, “Who was your first crush out of the boys on the Digi Tour?” I laughed as I read it out. “Well, as most of you already know my first crush on any of the boys on this tour was in fact on Blake Gray.” I laughed and said, “Next person.” The next person to pick was Nick and he chose dare. “Switch an item of clothing with the person on your right.” He groaned as it was Victoria who was technically on his right. They both stood up and he gave her his jumper and she gave him hers, which was a bit too small for him, causing me and Bryce to burst out in a fit of laughter.
“Okay, next person.” You said as they both sat down. Victoria placed her hand in the ‘truth’ bag and pulled out a paper slip that said, “Who was your first kiss and how did it happen? Wellllll....” She prolonged, before actually beginning the story. “My first kiss was in year 9, and it was with a boy called James, who at the time I liked and for like, forever and we were at a friend’s party and we were playing spin the bottle and his landed on me so we had to kiss. So romantic.” She said, laughing at the end of her sentence as she past the bag over to Nick who was on the other end of the bed. “Pick one out Nicky boy.” She laughed as he took out a slip of paper that said ‘dare’ sprawled on it. “Great... This one says ‘Switch clothes with the person on your right’ but there’s nobody on my right soo...” He trailed off, hoping he wouldn’t have to do the dare. “No, no, no. Victoria is on your right, think of it as a circle.” You said, forcing them both up.
Sighing Nick took off his shirt that he was wearing and handed it to Victoria, who went into the bathroom to take her shirt off and hand it to Nick. “You’re lucky that’s not my favourite shirt.” Victoria said, pointing a blaming finger at Nick and you as you and Bryce laughed at how tight the shirt was on Nick. “Oh my days, I’m weak.” You laughed, falling back on the bed as Nick sat down stiffly. “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. It’s your turn Bryce.” He said, roughly handing the bag to him. Bryce placed his hand in the bag and pulled out a slip that also said ‘dare’ written on it. “This one says ‘kiss the person to your left’. Who made these dares?” He said as he threw the paper at the camera before he quickly kissed you on the cheek causing Nick and Victoria to quickly argue with him. “No, on the lips, you know what kiss meant.” They said, pushing the two of you back together. “Dude, it just said kiss the person on your left. It didn’t specify where.” Bryce argued, throwing Nick’s hands away. “Don’t argue, boy. Just do it. Or you get another dare and we’re picking.” Nick said, pointing to him and Victoria when he had said ‘we’. “Okay, okay. Here goes.” He said, gently grabbing your face causing you to face him. Slowly, he leant in before placing his lips on yours and pulling you into a kiss that was only  supposed to last 2-3 seconds but lasted longer before you heard someone clear their throat causing the two of you to break apart. “Well, I guess we’ll conclude this video. Don’t forget to follow these guys on all of their social medias which are down below and whilst you’re their don’t forget to subscribe and like this video. Press that bell to get notified whenever I post, I’ve been (Y/N) (Y/L/N) byeee.” You said, putting you hand over the camera lens as you switched it off.
Nick and Victoria had switched back to their normal shirts. “Let’s go get food.” Nick said, as him and Victoria stood up and walked to the door not actually awaiting an answer. “You guys go on, I need to edit this video for tomorrow.” You said, grabbing your camera and laptop and placing it on the desk in the hotel room. “Okay, Bryce are you ccoming?” Nick asked, grabbing his phone and wallet. “Nah y’all go ahead. Imma stay here.” He said, still laying on the bed on his phone. “Okay, we’ll bring you guys back some Taco Bell.” They promised as the door closed, leaving an awkward silence between the two of you. “Hey.” Bryce said after 5 minutes of awkward silence causing you to look up and over at him. “Hello.” You laughed, going back to editing the video. “(Y/N/N), I-I like you, like a lot.” Bryce stuttered, turning you in your seat as he kneeled in front of you. “I like you too, Bryce.” You said, awkwardly fiddling with your hands as he grinned. “Good, because it gives me a good excuse to do this.”  He said causing you to look up at him as he stood up, pulling you up with him. “Do wha-” You were cut off by him pulling you closer and kissing you.

FEMSLASH FEBRUARY 2024 #12: In which Donna visits Cameron at home
[CN: food/snack/eating mention] . . After she and Gordon managed to put COMDEX behind them, it occurred to Donna that she might not ever see Cameron Howe ever again. Gordon came home every day of December of 1983 with more tales of J0e’s slow but apparent descent into despair over Cameron’s abrupt departure from Cardiff and repeated refusals to take J0e’s calls, and Donna had started to look forward to them. At the very least, Cameron was still in Dallas. But what if J0e, despite his alleged remorse, pestered her out of town? The thought troubled Donna, for some reason that she couldn’t articulate — not that she had anyone to talk to about it.
And so somewhere in between wrapping gifts and writing cards and printing address labels and shopping for groceries Donna decided to stop quietly hoping that she might run into Cameron again some day, and just go visit her instead. Late in the afternoon on the 27th, with Gordon back at the office and the girls busy with a playdate with the kids next door, Donna drove to Cameron’s house.
Cameron, who had just gotten home from a day at her new job, had looked shocked, and a little suspicious, when she found Donna on her front doorstep, holding some kind of covered ish. “Uh, hi! Merry Christmas!” Donna had said. Nose still wrinkled with what looked like both confusion and annoyance, Cameron hadn’t replied. Unsure of what else to say, Donna said, “I brought pie!” and held up the chocolate pecan pie she had baked herself so Cameron could see it. This got Cameron to open the door enough so that Donna could come in.
Donna realized as she followed Cameron to what looked like the kitchen that she had no idea what to even say to her. “Uh, so, how are you? How was your holiday?”
Without looking at her, Cameron said, “I don’t really celebrate.”
“Oh,” Donna said, feeling both embarrassed and sad. “Well, a lot of people don’t celebrate Christmas, right? It’s not mandatory, even here in Texas.”
Cameron turned to look at her. “Is there something you want?”
Donna frowned. “Uh, no. Just to bring you this,” she said, as she set the pie down on the kitchen table. “Oh,” she said, rifling through her purse, “and this.” She produced a gift certificate for Radio Shack, for twenty dollars, and held it out to Cameron.
Cameron’s face softened, and she reached out and took the certificate. She looked at it, and she said, “Uh, thanks, Donna.” She looked back up at Donna and said, “So how are you? I guess you probably had Christmas with Gordon, and the girls?”
“Yeah,” Donna nodded. “It’s mostly just, more work to do when you have kids, but I think everyone had a nice time.”
Cameron put the certificate on the table, and then turned toward the cabinets and drawers. As she grabbed a plate and a pair of forks, she asked, “How’s work? You’re at T.I., right?”
Donna sighed. Cameron returned to the table, took the lid off the pie tin, and cut an awkward slice out of it that promptly fell apart. She dug the pieces out with a fork and put them on the plate and then put it in front of Donna. “Uh, sorry,” she said, as she sat down. She then started eating the rest of the pie directly from the pan.
“Work is…well, I’m thinking of quitting,” Donna admitted.
Cameron’s fork, holding its first bite of pie, stopped in mid air. “Wait, really? That bad, huh?”
Donna mopily ate some of her pie. Cameron finally tried it, and her eyes widened. “Wow, you made this?”
Donna grinned. “I did. One of my many hidden talents.”
Cameron ate another forkful of pie, and then said, “If you’re looking for a new career, I think you might have something here.”
Donna smiled sadly. “I’ve wondered it maybe engineering isn’t right for me. I love it, but it feels sometimes like I don’t really belong there.”
Cameron chewed on another bite of pie, and thought about how she’d probably never belonged at Cardiff, but had never felt like it, or like she shouldn’t be a coder at all. She imagined Donna leaving T.I., and the idea of it made her incredibly sad.
“I don’t know,” Donna said. “Work has just kind of been unbearable since the excitement of COMDEX….” Cameron visibly flinched. “I know that COMDEX wound up being painful for you,” Donna said. “Your operating system was…special and wonderful and I’m sorry that they removed it and for the part my marital problems and bad decisions played in that. But, I’m glad I went.” Donna leaned forward, and looked Cameron in the eye. “And I’m glad that you were there.”
Cameron made herself think about COMDEX. “It was pretty amazing, right? I mean, until it all went to shit.”
Donna laughed as she tried to get some of her broken pie onto her fork. Then, she said, “I’ve seen your code, and I think you’re gonna be fine, Cameron. You’re gonna find your place as a coder.”
“I’m not really sure about that,” Cameron said. “But thanks, Donna.”

Ouija board - E dolan
Request: y/n pranks e with an Ouija board and it goes wrong? Plsssss
Requested by: Anon
this has swearing btw x
“Aw you’re such a sook!” I complain, throwing my bottom lip out at Ethan. “Shut up y/n, sorry not everyone wants to mess around with an Ouija board. In case you didn’t realise I don’t have a death wish.” Crossing his arms over his chest Ethan stands tall, although he’s declining a game he refuses to look like a baby.
“Grayson?” I ask, peering over at the other twin who looks around puzzled. “Care to be more of a man then your older brother?” I ask, glaring at E.
“I guess, I mean this shit’s not real.” Gray looks over at his brother who stares back wide eyed, “c’mon Eth, what’s the worst that’s going to happen?” Ethan responds with a sigh, looking everywhere but at me.
“If I get haunted because of this stupid game I’m killing both of you.”
“Sooky, sooky.” I reply, laughing. The boys join me on the ground, but not without numerous comments from both the twins. “Take your hat off Ethan, it’s disrespectful to the spirits.” While shooting daggers into my head E slowly takes it off, placing it next to the candle that surrounded the board. “Do you all know the rules?” I question, looking around at the boys. In response they nod their heads, I guess its not uncommon for someone to know the rules of an Ouija board, I mean practically every second horror film is about one.
After awakening the board, we begin to ask questions. However, it was obvious that as per usual the twins weren’t taking it seriously.
“You’re going to piss them off.” I say, smirking slightly at them. Ethan and Grayson chuckle, clearly not bothered. “Fine, if you aren’t scared let’s ask some interesting questions.” I raise my eyebrow at Ethan, my smirk stretching across my face, “When will Ethan die?”
“Hey!” Ethan sounds, “you aren’t supposed to ask questions like that.”
“Oh well, you’ll live, maybe?” I respond, laughing slightly. Ethan rolls his eyes, but quickly focuses back on the board when it begins to move with great strength and speed.
“Cut it out Gray.” Ethan speaks, his fear evident in his tone. Goosebumps spread across my body, the force moving the planchette is incredible, it was impossible for one of the boys to be able to move it that harshly without someone noticing.
“Did that just spell out tonight or have I suddenly become dyslexic?” A cold chill runs through my body, my stomach begins to feel uneasy and my face pales. “I really don’t want to play anymore.”
“That wasn’t funny Grayson.” Ethan’s voice squeaks, a feature I’ve noticed is evident when he’s nervous. “y/n tell it goodbye, we’re not doing this anymore.” Nodding my head, I tell the boys to place their fingers back on the planchette.
Our fingers glide across the board as we spell out the words goodbye. When nothing happens, we take a deep breath.
“That game was fucked, this is the last time y/n suggests a board game.” Rolling my eyes, I stand.
“Whatever, you probably just pissed the spirit off, so it just wanted to scare you.” My eyes return to the board, and for the second time tonight my blood runs cold.
The planchette was moving on its own. I’m not done with you yet. I let out a scream and Grayson stands frozen, Ethan however runs the fastest I’ve ever seen him run.
“Where are you going?” I shout, my eyes wide. Ethan returns, holding a match and my deodorant. “Hell no-“ in a matter of seconds, a bright flame ignites in my lounge room. “Ethan!” I scream. Pulling him away, I turn to see my Ouija board in flames. “It was a prank!” I yell, pushing him. “Grayson get water!” The colour returns to the boys face.
“That was cruel.” He responds, as Grayson tips water to stop the fire. I refuse to break eye contact with the drama queen to show how annoyed I was.
“It’s only on fire a little bit, you can still use it.” Lifting his shoulders in a shrugging motion, Ethan drops the can. A smirk appearing on the corner of his lip. “Look, I know that setting it on fire probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do but it’s done now and we have to deal with it.”
“You owe me a new one.” Ethan’s eyes open wide.
“Fuck no, I ain’t going anywhere near one of those things again.”
“Ugh, forget it. It’s not even nine o’clock and I just watched you nearly set the house on fire. Don’t touch anything else.” Ethan nods his head, flashing a toothy grin.
“Yes ‘mam.”
