Part 20 Fishman Island (Sorry if this is a lot)

They make it to Fishmen Island, with Reader amazed left and right from everything and seeing all the different Merfolk

Reader is with Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, Ace and Sanji, rencounter Camie and meet the Medika Mermaid Quintuplets (Who are swarming around Reader since she’s small and very cute)

She was concerned when her Big Brother Sanji started sobbing seeing all the Mermaids (Which Zoro and Ace told her he’s fine)

Reader was hiding along with her brothers from the Royal Family (But was begging along with Luffy to get a blood donation for Sanji) and went to town to get blood for Sanji

Y/N was very shy meeting and thanking Madam Shirley

However Reader was really happy to see Nami again (And Nami made sure to take all the kids clothes for Y/N) and was surprised to meet Neptune, the King (She calls Neptune ‘Mr. King’ or ‘Mr. Neptune’)

She and everyone else were surprised to find out they’re invited to the Palace (But doesn’t know why everyone is shocked about them being invited)

When they got to the palace, Y/N was in awe of the Giant Palace and was surprised that Neptune was being scolded, and go along with Luffy and Ace in a bubble to find food, only to meeting the Giant Mermaid Princess named Shirahoshi

Though Reader was horrified to see a giant axe trying to hit Shirahoshi, which Ace and Luffy deflected it to protect Shirahoshi

Reader *Politely* told Luffy to stop being mean to Shirahoshi, and would comfort Shirahoshi whenever she started to tear up (She can understand Shirahoshi’s fear of the outside world)

Shirahoshi and Reader instantly click and form a bond over their shared fear of the outside world, but it’s Y/N who encourages Shirahoshi in seeing the outside world (As Reader’s now a bit more brave and optimistic thanks to her family showing her that she’s allowed to live and be free *Which makes Ace and Luffy smile, happy that Y/N feels and thinks that way*)

Reader feels sorry for what Shirahoshi and her family had to go through after the death of their mother Otohime (And brings Otohime back to life, shocking the Civilians, Hody Jones and his crew and the Royal Family)

Y/N had to hide with Shirahoshi since Hody Jones demanded her and Shirahoshi (As Hody saw Reader is the only Human that he would need alive and plans to use her power to his bidding, even if it’s against her will, something he bragged at Luffy and Ace, resulting in him getting an even harder smack down)

Y/N freaked out when her brother Luffy needed a Blood Transfusion and no one was willing to give any, resulting in her begging Chopper to use her blood (This was a shocking development since they know how Y/N feels about her blood being taken) only for Jinbei to come in a say he’s willing to give his blood since they have the same blood type (Y/N was so grateful she started bawling because her brother Luffy isn’t going to die!)

Otohime willingly adopts Reader to show that there can be change between the Human and Fishfolk (As thanks for bringing her back to life to her family and people, with Reader being proof that not all humans are bad and evil)

Reader wanted to help Jinbei by bringing back Fisher Tiger, but he gently told her no, as Tiger suffered a lot while alive, but maybe if he met Reader during his time alive, maybe, just maybe the hatred and agony wouldn’t have such a strong hold on him (And maybe Tiger finally feels at peace in the afterlife all thanks to Reader and Luffy)

During the huge Banquet, everyone is laughing, dancing, smiling, eating and drinking (Y/N is drinking juice with Ace)

Though everyone was wondering why Y/N is carrying a pillow with her (Thinking she might be tired) only for her to show them by her being quick enough to move Ace’s food out the way and instead with a pillow for him to face plant on (Making Luffy and the others cackle realizing the pillow is for Ace and not her, showing how kind Y/N is for her family)

However, when Y/N went out to play with some of the Fishmen children (With adult supervision from ) she wasn’t there when Luffy was talking with Big Mom, with the threat to make Fishman Island become his territory

Y/N and everyone Pinky Promises Shirahoshi that they’ll always be friends (Reader was the most excited to do a Pinky Promise because she was told it’s an ‘Unbreakable Bond’ between friends and family)

Sorry if this is a lot, I’m trying to remember what happened in this arc and I don’t mind if this gets abridged

I will say this about this piece, since this arc is so massive: this will be heavily abridged, so it won’t include all details that occurred in this arc.

-When you woke up, you were with Usopp, Ace, Sanji, Luffy and Chopper, and while you were worried about the others, Luffy assured you that they were fine, and your group would meet up with them a little later.

-You were amazed walking around, seeing the beautiful buildings and so many different types of Fishman people, there were so many shapes, sizes, and species.

-You then heard a voice, “Y/N!” your eyes lit up as you smiled, rushing towards a familiar face, “Camie!” the two of you hugged each other, Camie sighing deeply as she held you in her arms before she pulled back, tears in her eyes, “I never got to thank you Y/N- for what you did for me in the Auction House. So, thank you Y/N- thank you all! I’m so happy to see you all again!”

-Ace patted both of you on the head as you were both comically crying, others staring at the two of you, thinking you were both adorable.

-You then heard a new voice, “Who’s this?” and, “Who’s that?” and, “I don’t know.”, then, “She’s so little!” and finally, “But she’s cute!” You were amazed, finding yourself surrounded by five mermaids who were very similar before Camie introduced them at the Medaka Mermaid Quintuplets, Ichika, Nika, Sanka, Yonka, and Yonka Two, before introducing you to them.

-They swam around you, using their bubble rings, complimenting you on how tiny and cute you were while you were smiling, telling them that they were so cute which made all six of you smile so brightly!

-You were lying low with the others in Camie’s house, for some reason you were hiding from the Royal Family, Usopp wouldn’t tell you when you asked him, he just said you all had to hide for a while, as they believed that you all were being hunted to be brought before the Royal Family.

-You turned back to see Sanji collapsed, bleeding out again from seeing all the mermaids and you were quickly in tears, sobbing that Sanji was going to die, wanting to heal him. Ace tried to tell you that he was fine, that this was normal, but you sniffled, looking up at Ace and Luffy, begging to go with them to get a blood donation.

-They were unable to resist your teary eyes, and Luffy agreed, and you all headed out along with Camie, seeking out someone called Madam Shyarly.

-She was another mermaid, a shark type one, but she was so much bigger than Camie was, and while she welcomed everyone to her Mermaid Café warmly, you hid behind Ace’s leg, feeling a bit shy.

-You could feel that she could be dangerous if she wanted to be, and there was something about her that was unusual, but you couldn’t put your finger on it.

-You were shocked when you learned that she was Arlong’s half-sister, and you realized that’s why she felt dangerous, but she was nice, giving you a room to treat Sanji in. Shyarly was nice to you, letting you sit on her lap as you drank some juice that was prepared while Chopper was treating Sanji.

-You beamed when you saw Nami and the others all arrive, greeting them all and Nami beamed, showing you a shopping bag, “Time to play dress up Y/N!” you lifted your arms up, cheering with her while Robin and the mermaids all giggled, thinking you were adorable.

-You were put into a long sleeve dress that looked like mermaid scales, dark green in color and you twirled, “It’s so pretty!” Camie smiled warmly at you, telling you how cute you looked, “These are really popular with human children, and I can see why!”

-King Neptune was even bigger than Shyarly, but unlike Shyarly, whom you were hesitant, at first, he was different, he felt warm and kind as he introduced himself and you smiled, “It’s nice to meet you Mr. King Neptune.”

-The King was nearly assassinated by cuteness, falling to the floor, clutching his chest as your family and the mermaids all laughed, thinking it was funny.

-Everyone was stunned to hear his invitation to come to the palace, but you were more confused as to why everyone was shocked.

-The palace was enormous!! It was also super pretty and everywhere you looked you found something new, something more to look at.

-You, Ace, and Luffy were shooed away while Neptune was being scolded, with Luffy leading the charge to seek out food.

-You came to a massive door, one that was so big that you probably would have fallen on your rear if you weren’t in the bubble and inside you found what you thought was the biggest mermaid you would ever see.

-She was a bit scared, before she calmed, realizing that the three of you weren’t bad people, introducing herself as the Mermaid Princess, Shirahoshi and welcomed your brothers to enjoy her food.

-Shirahoshi was so gentle with you, letting you sit on her hand as she asked you questions about the surface world, and you asked her questions, the two of you instantly hitting it off, bonding over your curiosity of the world.

-You pouted lightly at Luffy when he made Shirahoshi cry, being a bit rude, but you were quick to find that Shirahoshi was a bit of a crybaby, but Luffy did appease you and apologized to her, but she was quick to bounce back, and you helped calm her down if she did get teary eyed.

-Shirahoshi could tell that Y/N was a lot like her, cautious and fragile, scared of the outside world, “You’re so brave Y/N- you go out into the world with no fear. I wish I could be like you.”

-You smiled up at her, “My big brothers and the rest of my family keep me safe, and they teach me lots! It’s not like… I’m free now and they let me be free!” They had all heard the pause, your two brothers sharing a hard look between them.

-Your past is something you had yet to be able to tell them anything about, other than a few vague details, but they hoped you would be ready one day to tell them everything.

-When a giant axe flew in, Shirahoshi was quick to shield you, despite being afraid herself, but Luffy and Ace were easily able to deflect it, and she told you about Vander Decker and both Ace and Luffy grinned, promising to keep her safe as well.

-It did cause quite a commotion when you all arrived in the main hall, seeing the Royal Family, Hody Jones and his crew, several civilians who were concerned, the rest of your crew, with Shirahoshi in tow, as she chose to believe Ace and Luffy.

-Hody had come, furious that Neptune had invited humans into the palace, “Don’t you remember what they did to Queen Otohime?! All humans should be exterminated!!”

-You were scared, shying away before you looked up at Shirahoshi as her brothers came over to watch over her, “Who is Queen Otohime?” Shirahoshi told you and the others about her mother, and how she had been attacked and killed by humans, as she had been working on the relationship between humans and Fishmen.

-Nami’s eyes went wide, gasping, “Y/N!” all eyes went to you as your horn flared to life in Shirahoshi’s arms, as you had started crying, hearing about her mommy, hearing how nice she was, and your powers, just like in Skypeia, brought her back from nothing.

-All eyes went wide as Otohime reformed and gasped loudly, looking just as she did the day she was killed, stunning all in attendance.

-You fell to your rear, feeling a bit dizzy as your fever started taking over, Luffy quickly pulling you into his arms as the Royal Family all rejoiced and within minutes, after civilians and guards ran out, everyone knew that a human child brough Otohime back to life.

-Hody was stunned, seeing this, before quickly seeing you as the only human worthy of keeping alive as he cracked his knuckles, “Oi- hand over the princess and that brat- she’s the only one I’ll keep alive. She’s going to bring back more Fishmen, so we can take over.” Ace turned, a fierce glare in his eyes, balls of fire appearing in his hands, “Y/N’s powers are for her to use as she wants! She won’t be used by anyone ever again!!”

-Hody just smirked, immediately turning himself into the Straw Hat’s biggest enemy, “I’ll do what I want with her- and if she doesn’t, I’ll just beat her until she does.” Otohime was stunned, hearing this before a massive brawl happened.

-Otohime quickly turned, “Shirahoshi take Y/N and flee!” Her daughter looked scared, but she felt something new as Luffy turned, giving you to her and she cradled you carefully and took off, rushing out of the palace, fleeing away with you.

-It was hours later when the Straw Hats found you and Shirahoshi, with help from Camie and Jinbei. Your fever was gone, as you had gotten to rest and you got to meet Jinbei, who you recognized, “You helped Luffy when I thought Ace and grandpa died.”

-Jinbei smiled gently down at you, you were so sweet as you held his hand, having no fear, as you knew that he was a nice person and you found out that they were going to be going to war against Hody and his army who shared his views about humans.

-You were watching from the Sunny, having been brought there by Brook, “Just stay here Y/N- you’re in charge of guarding the ship!” He meant it as a joke, as they were all going to be between you and the army, but you were ready to defend it! How- you didn’t know but you were going to do it!

-Otohime, who was still causing shock with her resurrection, tried to appeal to Hody and his men before the impending battle, telling them that they didn’t need to do this- as there were both good and bad humans, just like there were good and bad Fishmen.

-You gasped as Hody slapped her hard, sending her to the ground and Shirahoshi started crying loudly, even louder than before as Luffy pulled Otohime to safety, getting her back towards Shirahoshi.

-You froze, seeing the Sea Kings quickly surrounding Shirahoshi, coming to her aid, sensing her distress, which made everyone else freeze in awe as well, seeing this, but apparently this was something of importance to Fishmen, as there was a prophecy about the mermaid princess being able to do this.

-The Sea Beasts were docile, for the moment, as they were tending to Shirahoshi, who was wondering what was going on before they swam away, Otohime managing to calm her down before they started rampaging.

-You were safe on the ship, watching the fight and you were in awe, watching how strong everyone was now, seeing all of their new attacks and strength, your eyes sparkling.

-You heard a sound behind you, and you turned, your eyes instantly going wide, seeing one of Hody’s men who managed to sneak on board, to grab you.

-Your eyes were wide in fear as he approached, “Hody’s going to be so pleased with me! And you’re going to help us bring all our friends back!”

-Your eyes trembled in fear, falling to your rear as you stared up at this scary fishman, memories reentering your mind of your life before you came to this world, before Luffy, before you were safe, seeing similar men leering down and reaching down to you.

-He grabbed you, lifting you by the front of your shirt and you felt something hit your chest and your eyes widened, it was your baby sword! You quickly pulled it from its sheath and stabbed him in the arm, nothing fatal, but he did drop you, clutching at his arm before you heard Ace, “Duck Y/N!” you did as you were told as Ace flew in, kicking the fishman away from you.

-He was stunned, seeing the bloody baby sword in your hand, you had stabbed that man, but now you were in shock and Ace glared slightly before throwing the offender off the ship and he remained there, to keep everyone unfriendly away from Sunny and you.

-When you saw Luffy, after the battle, Chopper saying he needed a blood transfusion, you were beside yourself, being brought off the ship, but Usopp caught you, holding you as you struggled, “Let me go! Let me heal Luffy!” Nami was trying to calm you, “He needs blood Y/N- you may heal his wounds but he would still need blood!”

-Others, Otohime and the fishmen who laid down their arms, stopping the fight, where stunned when you pulled up your sleeve, showing your heavily scarred arm, in tears, “Take my blood then! Chopper please use my blood!”

-Your family froze, as you were notoriously terrified of anything medical, even a checkup, and to see you willingly offering your blood, breaking down in harsh sobs, you broke their hearts.

-You laid on Jinbei’s chest, clutching at his shirt as you cried, thanking him as he shared his own blood with Luffy, something that was unheard of for humans and fishmen.

-Once wounds were wrapped and peace appeared again on Fishman Island, a massive banquet, with everyone, even civilians, were invited to come and celebrate with the Straw Hats and the Royal Family.

-Otohime stunned everyone there, once everyone was in attendance, by kneeling before you, “Y/N- you gave me my life back, for this I thank you, and you have showed me that no matter how big or small you are, anyone can do anything. I will claim it here and now, as Queen, Y/N is now my adopted daughter!!”

-Jaws dropped all around before loud cheers went around your family, as you now had more allies as Otohime hugged you tightly, smiling down at you.

-You had some quiet time with Jinbei during the party, while Luffy was going to see what was taking Shirahoshi so long, along with Sanji and Zoro, and you asked him, “Do you miss Fisher Tiger? Do you want me to bring him back?”

-Jinbei felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, seeing how selfless you were, petting your hair softly, “I do miss him, Y/N. But no- he suffered a lot while he was alive, but I have a feeling he’s happy now, especially because of you and Luffy.” You looked up at him, smiling softly, “Really?” he chuckled softly, nodding.

-It was a bit odd, about twenty minutes later, when you walked by with a large pillow, as many were curious that you wanted to lie down, Robin and Nami, and even Otohime offered to take you someplace quiet so you could rest, but you just smiled, “It’s not for me!”

-You joined Ace at a large table, enjoying some juice that he got you, and everyone was watching you keep looking up at Ace, like you were watching something before Ace suddenly froze.

-You managed to grab his plate and put the pillow on the table as he face planted down, having a soft landing this time as everyone around howled with laughter, thinking it was funny but also so sweet how attentive you were being.

-Otohime saw you fiddling with your cross necklace, as Ace had told everyone that you had stabbed someone with your baby sword to defend yourself, something that was quite shocking, but Otohime didn’t know that as she was sitting with you while Luffy was talking with Big Mom, claiming Fishman Island as his territory now, “What’s that Y/N?”

-You beamed, pulling out the blade to show her, “A baby sword!” her eyes went wide, worried you would hurt yourself with it, “NO!” as more roars of laughter filled the room, before Brook explained that your baby sword was a gift, and that you didn’t really know how to use it.

-Shirahoshi was trying hard not to cry as you got ready to leave, and you could feel your own tears pricking at the corners of your eyes and everyone in the crew, including you, touched pinkies with Shirahoshi, making a pinkie promise to be friends forever.

-You waved goodbye to your new adoptive family as they all shouted for you to visit, something you were looking forward to, unaware of the dark cloud looming, waiting for you at the next destination.

Phryne Fisher’s Fabulous Frocks Outfit Recap: Season 3, Episode 1 - “Death Defying Feats”

As expected for the first episode of the season, "Death Defying Feats" opens season three with a gorgeously designed bang. The premiere contains seven distinctly beautiful outfits, starting and ending with sumptuous evening gowns displaying intricate embroidered and beaded patterns. A dreamlike jacket and scarf, followed by a jaw-dropping vintage sea foam lace tabard add to the underwater fantasy feel of the episode. Both Phryne's investigatory jacket and rich blue kimono lend a Chinoise element to the shades of blue found throughout, with the grand finale featuring an actual sequined mermaid costume. While not as numerous as previous premieres, the season three opener still upholds its well dressed reputation.

First Date | C.Cameron

FEM! READER

summary: it was your first date with cameron. you two were actually classmates in elementary school. cameron ended up asking you out on a date after finding you on the Cousins beach during a party.

warnings: none, just loads of fluff

You were in Belly's room at Cousins, getting ready for your date that was in like 30 minutes. Cam was actually going to pick you up in a few. You were panicking and asking Belly what you should wear, her helping you with it and giving you a closet full of options you can pick from.

"I don't know what to wear Belly- I'm not even sure what we're doing for the date! What if we're bowling and I wear a dress? What if we're having a dinner and I wear what shorts?!" You asked as you had finished your makeup but not your outfit.

Belly was laughing as Steven walked in while you were thankfully still in your t-shirt and sleep shorts. "Steven get out!" You and Belly said at the same time, Belly covering you with her body as if you were naked but thankfully you weren't.

"Okay okay chill- there's this car outside on our driveway?" Steven asked as you tilted your body so that your face was showing behind Belly.

"Huh?" You said before looking out Belly's window and seeing that Cam was there. You almost did a double take before you closed the curtain when Cameron looked up from his steering wheel as you turned your back against the window.

"Oh my gosh. He's already here. He said he was gonna be here in 30 minutes?!" You yelled as Steven was pushed out of Belly's room.

"Yeah that's Y/n's date okay? So get out Steven we're getting her ready!" Belly said as Steven was trying so hard not to get out, holding on the doorframe of Belly's door before Belly successfully shut her door and locked it.

"Wait what Y/n has a date- wait I can help!" Steven was yelling as he was being escorted out. More like kicked out. Belly sighed as she smiled at your panicking state.

"I know exactly what you can wear." Belly smiled as she grabbed a skirt that Taylor gave her and a cami top. She also gave you a pair of sneakers. It was better to be simple especially since it was hot.

"Do you think he'd like this?" You asked as Belly nodded. "of course he will! Weren't you guys like pretend married in elementary school? He doesn't care what his elementary school wife is wearing." Belly teased as you chuckled.

"You're right..it's Cam after all." You said as you slipped into what Belly gave you. As you looked at yourself in the body mirror, you smiled at yourself. Belly was behind you, holding your shoulders gently as she shook you around gently.

"You look amazing Y/n. Let's go." You nodded as you grabbed your phone and hugged Belly. You were thankful to have a best friend like her. It was like you had a non-blood related sister. Thankfully your mom was close friends with Susannah and Laurel ever since college.

You started walking down the stairs, seeing Cam texted you after checking your phone for quite awhile. He was wondering if you were already ready a few minutes ago. You put on your shoes before nodding at Belly.

"Good luck. Tell us how it goes later." Belly teased as you opened the door and chuckled quietly. "Will do!" You said before closing the door behind you after you said goodbye to Belly, and it seems Steven too since he was sitting on the couch with the Fisher boys.

As you were walking out of the house, you felt your body do a small nervous shiver. You didn't know why you were nervous but it was probably because of the first time you saw Cam again.

You didn't imagine him to grow into such a handsome boy. Who made your heart still skip a beat. Not like it was in elementary school but how it was now. You held your hand to your chest gently before smiling softly as he saw you walking out of the Cousin's house.

You waved at him excitedly before running up to the car. Cam saw that you were running towards the car as he quickly took his seatbelt off and got out of the driver's seat.

"Hey sorry I ended up coming earlier. I saw you pop up on the window." Cam said pointing to the window where Belly was watching from. You looked up and made a silly face at Belly, as if telling her to hide away.

Belly caught on and you could imagine Belly's laugh as she closed the curtains quickly. You looked back at Cam and shook your head.

"Don't apologize Cam, I'm glad you're here early anyway." You reassured as Cameron sighed in relief and nodded.

"Well let's go?" You said as Cam nodded, "Yeah no time to waste." Cam said and before you could open your door for yourself, it was locked. You blinked as Cam put his hand on the door and unlocked it.

"Hey! You locked your doors last second didnt you?" You chuckled as Cam looked around awkwardly before giving a goofy smile. "Maybe?" Cam chuckled as he opened the door for you.

He didn't want you to open your own door. As independent woman as you were, Mr. Cam Cameron over here wanted to treat you like a princess. You thanked him for opening the door for you even if it wasn't necessary. It did make you blush.

You buckled your seatbelt as Cam got into his seat and started the car. You and him started to pull out of the driveway as he looked over at you for a second before looking away and smiling.

You smiled as you kept your hands on your lap. You wanted to hold his hand already but knew you should wait and not do that just yet. Cam started to drive. Honestly you didn't know what your first location would be.

"So, what are we going to do first?" You asked as Cam was focused on the road. He had a bewildered look which made you think that he didn't know what he wanted to do with you today.

You and him had just saw each other yesterday again after all and gotten each other's numbers and you don't know how much one another had changed.

"I'm not sure what should we do?" Cam asked awkwardly as you were also feeling a bit awkward yourself since you didn't want to do anything that he didn't. You played with your hands before something popped up in your mind.

"Well why don't we go to the boardwalk? There's this ice cream cart that I always go to with Jere, Connie, Belly and Steven every summer I've been here in Cousins." I smiled as Cam gasped as if overreacting in a good way.

"Then that's our first stop." Cam said as he started making his way to the boardwalk parking. You smiled as you looked out the window. You had your hands out of your lap now, but most of the car ride was full of silence with the music that Cam was playing on the radio. You could feel the awkwardness but tried not to let it get to you too much.

Before you knew it, that silence was gone in a matter of minutes because you made it to the docs. Everything was so close by after all which was nice. Cam found a parking spot and soon turned off the car. He looked over to you.

"Are you ready?" Cam asked as you quickly looked at him since you were looking away, "Oh! yeah yeah I'm ready!" You smiled as you took your seatbelt off and stepped out of the car. You were lost in your thoughts since you didn't know how to make this the perfect date.

This was kind of your first date after all. You didn't like anyone else really after Cam and you separated in middle school. Cam locked his car and held his hand out to you.

You looked down at his hand before you smiled up at him and took his hand gently. Your fingers intertwined with one another's.

"Well..I grabbed your hand because I was supposed to lead the way but then I realized that I don't really know where to go-" Cam said which made you giggle because of his silliness. You nodded.

"Well then I guess I'm the lead now, Mr. opened my door for me and thank you." You teased as Cam seemed to laugh quietly as you led the way.

You two were basically teasing and flirting with each other at the same time. He was holding your hand just like he did in elementary school and you loved it. It made your heart skip a beat somewhat and it felt so nice.

Though there was still some awkwardness between you two, it was common since it was your first date.

You led Cam to the ice cream cart that was on the boardwalk. It was always sunny on the Cousins beach, and you were glad for that because it was beautiful and felt nice getting all of that vitamin D.

You spotted the ice cream cart and grinned as you pointed it out to Cam, showing it off and giving it all the glory that it needs. Cam nodded in approval before heading over to the ice cream cart with you.

Cam and you ended up getting a banana split together and you showed it off to Cam, but it seemed that he didn't want to share.

"Huh? You sure? It'll be nicer if we shared it," You suggested. Cam seemed to think about it for a bit before shaking his head.

"You should have it for yourself. I can get myself one," Cam said before getting himself one. You blinked and didn't think too much about it for now, thinking that Cam was too shy about sharing a banana split with you.

Thankfully there were some metal chairs on the boardwalk, and you both took the chance to sit with each other. Cam let go of your hand as you two put your banana splits on the little metal table as well.

As you two sat there, you chatted and started to catch up on one another's life.

"It felt nice seeing you on that beach again." You said as you took a bite. Cam agreed as he had a smile on his lips as he stared at you. You smiled back.

"I don't usually like going to those parties if I'm being honest," Cam said in a soft spoken manner. "I don't drink but I know so many people there that I was basically-"

"Peer pressured." You said as you laughed softly at Cam's reaction since you finished his sentence for him. "That's okay, you don't need to drink, same here with me. Who cares if you don't drink? Doesn't make you any less cool." You said.

Cam seemed to take note of that in a good way. He was actually taken aback that you didn't drink since most of the teens in Cousins during late night parties like those on the beach wouldn't hesitate to underage drink.

You laughed softly when Cam just took some more of his banana split, not minding of how shy he was being around you.

"I've only ever talked to my mom's friend's sons and daughter whenever I come down here every summer." You mentioned.

"That's a real tongue twister- mom's friend's sons and daughter." Cam repeated teasingly as you laughed when Cam did. It felt so simple to talk to Cam in the sun.

You missed having other friends outside of the Cousin's house. Though you wouldn't say that you could have it any other way, you were just glad that you encountered someone you hadn't seen in so long.

"There's so much to catch up on definitely," Cam said. "We just need to figure out where to start." Cam said but as soon as we could start on a new topic, You and him finished the banana splits you had.

Cam and you threw away the containers in the trash before you grabbed his hand. He seemed a bit more tense since you were in a public area. Cam still reciprocated your hold and held your hand back.

"I'm actually remembering something right now." Cam said as he swung your arm with his as you two walked. "There was a haiku you did and it was silly," Cam said as your mouth went agape.

"How do you even remember that-" "I'm not sure but I just remember when you cried about it to me. When was it..oh 6th grade." You frowned as Cam shook his head.

"What- what don't look at me like that" Cam said quickly as you grabbed Cam's ear gently, wiggling it around. Cam squirmed a bit as he tried to get you to let go but you were making him laugh.

Cam's laugh always made your heart melt. Even in elementary school but it seemed that he was doing the exact same thing to you right now.

"You remember some of the smallest things about me." You whispered as you let go of his ear after apologizing for pulling and tugging on it for so long. You felt your heart seem to ache at that thought.

You were friends with all of the family friends but still even if you got close to them, you never felt a romantic attachment to any of them. You realized now just how much Cam had impacted your life just as much as they did.

Cam nodded. "Of course I do," Cam said. "i've been working on this new boat..and I remember in elementary school just how much I liked talking about sea animals a lot."

"Especially whales," You laughed as the two of you stopped. You had your elbows propped up as you stared at the beach, kids, family members and friends out there having fun.

"I remember a lot about elementary school," Cam joined you as your shoulders were touching as the two of you talked. Simple days like these were enough for you.

"I think it's mainly because of you. I met you at a really young age and when I couldn't find you again, well that made me sad," Cam said with a hint of a small joking tone.

Your eyes softened as you thought back to elementary. You two were always partners that it was hard to separate the two of you sometimes. The teachers you had together would always find a way to get you partner with someone else.

"Remember when the teachers started getting tired of us always finding a way to always be next to each other?" You said as you pointed up as if more ideas were flooding into your mind.

Cam's mouth opened as he nodded with an obvious smile building up. "Yeah it was hard though to separate us." Cam said as he did the same thing you were doing, looking back and forth before actually pointing his finger up the same way you did.

"Are you copying me right now Cam Cameron?" You teased as you poked the finger that he was pointing up with yours.

"Hey only Jeremiah calls me Cam Cameron- how did you hear about that?" Cam asked as you looked like you were thinking for a short while before coming up with an answer.

"Well I live with them, and you're wrong Jeremiah calls you that but everyone else in the house calls you that too." You stated as Cam seemed to playfully nudge you gently. You leaned in and chuckled.

You two were close enough to one another to see how long his eye lashes were up close. You were laughing and smiling but then that seemed to die down when Cam caught on to how close you two were.

Inches apart it seemed. You looked at Cam as you were leaning on the edge. Now public affection wasn't your thing but of course holding hands was okay.

Cam stared into your eyes as you stared at his. The day was just starting and it seemed that the two of you already wanted to kiss. This wasn't the same as elementary school, no definitely not.

You saw all of the attractive parts of Cam. The handsomeness, the kindness and consideration. The awkwardness and nerdiness he had as a future marine biologist.

You saw how easy it was to talk to him. How easy he caught on to your body language as if none of you never separated for a few years in the first place.

"Is it too fast?" You asked yourself but didn't mean to ask it out loud.

"What is?" Cam asked softly, as if asking you and only you. No one else was meant to hear it. Just you. You blinked when he responded to your question before you covered your mouth immediately.

"Did I say that out loud?" You asked Cam as he nodded. You blushed deeply, wondering what else you said out loud.

"What is?" Cam asked again, persistent and wanting an answer. You could feel your heart and chest seeming to tighten at the same time. Wanting to answer his question like it was easy for you to do but it wasn't.

You looked around before Cam grabbed your cheek gently. You knew that you shouldn't be worried about seeing anyone you knew in public. You wondered why the world seemed to get smaller.

It was just you two. Cam wanted you to look at him. Cam wasn't hesitant of touching you because he knew he could comfortable around you. Knowing that around everyone else he was known as the awkward boy who didn't have a girlfriend. Let alone ever had one.

You slowly looked back at Cam as you stood up straight. He still had his hand on your cheek as he stared down at you. He was somewhat taller than you after all. You were short and easy to miss sometimes.

You gulped gently, as if not ready to say the words that were going to come out of your mouth but you closed your eyes before opening them 5 seconds after.

"Is it too fast? To kiss you right now?" You asked before rambling on about everything in your mind. "I haven't liked anyone else other than you and when I saw you again- gosh your timing is too perfect for some reason." You pulled away from Cam as you started pacing around, explaining everything to him.

"You just appeared out of nowhere and all I remember is you in elementary school but then again remembering how I wanted to talk to you even past elementary but we didn't have any phones because we were what like 10? I'm not sure-" You continued to ramble as you played with your hands.

"But why is it so easy to talk to you-" "Y/N-" "It's just like we never even left each other for a few years and then suddenly appeared in front of each other it's like we've known each other our whole life but I know that isn't true there's so much more,"

"Y/N" Cam called out gently as he held your hand. You looked at him, stopping your pacing as you calmed down from you rambling high.

Cam loosely held your hand as you looked down, feeling a bit ashamed and embarrassed because you had rambled and didn't catch yourself until now.

"We seem to talk about the same thing over and over again." You whispered as you held Cam's hand gently back, intertwining your fingers together.

"The Cam I know from elementary never changed." You said as you looked up at him, his facial expression obviously showing that he felt the same way you did.

"But I want to know the Cam from now too. The guy known as Cam Cameron. The guy who now goes to parties? The guy who makes friends now and is somewhat popular." You said, laughing in between because of how happy you felt saying all of that.

Cam seemed to laugh too shyly as he nodded along with everything that you were saying. He was listening to all of it. Listening to the way you talked about him in front of him.

"I wanna know everything about you that's why I asked if it was too fast." You said as Cam leaned his forehead gently on yours. You continued to talk though as you focused on him.

"I want to," "I get it Y/N" Cam whispered gently as he still stared at you even with your eyes closed, having you so relaxed. He held your waist gently but shyly.

You opened your eyes as his eyes were now the ones that were closed. "You do?" You asked unsurely, because you weren't sure if all you were saying was too much. Especially when you saw each other just yesterday.

"Of course," Cam said before making a 'psssh' noise. "I get you the way you get me. You were my elementary wife. Still could be." Cam said which made you shake your head.

"No no Belly mentioned that to me while I was getting ready this morning- we played pretend too much!" You said, as Cam tried his hardest to hold back his laugh.

"Is it okay?" Cam asked as he cupped your cheeks slowly, moving his hands away from your waist, holding your face gently. You were wondering what he meant as your eyebrows seemed to show that you were confused.

Cam caught on quickly. "I don't want to say it- I think-" Cam said before putting his finger on his lip, as if showing that he wanted to kiss you.

You looked at his lips before your eyes widened in embarrassment. Again, awkwardness but in a cute way. "Yes! Yes of course! Why didn't you just ask!" You said as you held onto his shirt.

"I couldn't just ask- I was waiting for you to ask," Cam said as he felt his body shiver because all of his nerves were hitting him. You giggled gently.

Cam wasted no time though and kissed you. His lips were placed onto yours gently, the same with yours. Cam pulled away gently, his eyes opening as they hit yours as well.

You nudged your nose onto Cam's gently, a soft smile on your lips. Without having to ask, Cam initiated the deeper kiss, cupping your cheeks a bit harder because he wanted to be closer to you.

You were on your tip toes by now as he was kissing you sensationally, seeing the obvious excitement in his kiss with you. Cam's hands gently went down to your waist as he kissed you before he pulled away due to you pulling away first.

You looked around and saw people were staring at you and obviously rooting for you two. You started to freak out as you quickly grabbed Cam's hand.

"Huh? Whoa-!" Cam yelled as you were scurrying away with him, going down to the beach since you were too shy to kiss him in front of people who were obviously watching. You found a log as you sat on it quickly and looked up at Cam.

Cam sat next to you on the log and moved your hair behind your ear. "You could've told me too-" Cam said, talking about them running away since people were watching.

"People were watching- it's like they were telling us to get a room without saying anything obviously." You said, rambling again as Cam chuckled.

"This is more like a beach than it is a room though." Cam said which made you nudge him gently at his comment. As if saying, 'Duh.'

Cam took off his jacket and gently put it on you, not having your arms go through the arm holes. Cam pulled you in gently by his jacket being around you.

He kissed you again gently, as you had your hands on his chest, feeling his heart was beating just as fast as yours. That small jester of him pulling you in by his jacket on you made your heart skip a beat.

Cam was kissing you. Your childhood friend that was reunited with you. Cam pulled away slowly after. You were warm now. You two had just shared a couple of kisses but you wanted to kiss him more.

You leaned against his chest as he let go of the jacket and hugged you tightly, his chin being on your head. He closed his eyes as you closed yours as well.

"Was there anything else you wanted to do today?" Cam said. "We see each other for not even 2 hours today and we kissed." Cam teased with an obvious smile on his face.

You hid your face in his chest as you gently punched him happily. "Well maybe we can go to the arcade?" You asked as you looked up at him, popping out from his chest.

Cam stared down at you and smiled. "Sounds like a plan."

Summary: cam and y/n have been friends for a long time. was watching him fall for belly what pushed y/n to tell him her secret, or was forcing himself to fall for someone that wasn’t her what drove him to telling her his secret

Notes: AHHH i’ve been waiting to write a cam cameron onneee!!! this is so exciting. also some events from the show will be different to fit my plot!!

“come on cami! you have to let loose once in awhile!” y/n said, grabbing both his hands, dragging him backwards to the car. “angel i don’t even drink” y/n smiled at the nickname, she has been best friends with cam since birth. their sisters met in kindergarten and the two family’s have been inseparable ever since.

when Lizzy died, y/ns sister stopped going out and stopped talking to everyone. cam was the only person y/n had, and y/n was the only person cam had.

now, it was y/ns job to make sure cam made the best of his high school years. it was the first bon fire of the summer before their junior year.

y/n would give everything for cameron to part with her, and cameron would give everything for y/n to be happy.

“please cami, I want to dance” they had made it to the car by now so he didn’t really have a choice. he opened the passenger door for his passenger princess, and she hopped in. “okay fine” he laughed, closing the door and getting in the car

at the bon fire that night, y/n sat on the beach with cam after they just watched a girl fall into the sand and two boys fight over her. “i’ll be back, that curly headed blond boy looks like he’d be fun to dance with” y/n said, leaving her friend on the sand.

in the absence of his other half, he spotted an old friend. standing up from his spot he walked over to reconnect.

as flavia and sextus reconnected, y/n danced happily with Jeremiah fisher. “what’s your name?” the blue eyed blonde boy asked. “my names y/n” she smiled, twirling in her sun dress. “hi y/n, i’m Jeremiah” he spun her as she just did, and the two continued to dance.

“do you want to go sit over there and talk?” jeremiah asked, y/n knew he probably wanted to make out, but when she pictured making out with this new guy in her head, she could only see cameron.

“i should really be getting back to my friend.” she smiled, waving a goodbye as she walked back to her cameron.

unusually, he was not where she left him. when she looked for cam, she saw him with belly, his eyes bright as he talked to her. she felt a sick feeling in her stomach that she didn’t like what so ever

she did not go back to cam until the end of the night, instead she took up the offer to talk to Jeremiah fisher, which is all they did.

when the night ended as the cops came, he searched for y/n to make sure she was not hurt, but couldn’t find her. he did not find her until he walked belly back to jeremiah’s car.

“there you are, i was worried about you” cam said, hugging his friend. she put on a soft fake smile as cam introduced her to belly. “belly, i can uh, drive you home if you want” he smiled. which belly’s brother stephen quickly shut down.

y/n felt so sick at the idea of belly sitting in her seat.

when stephen told belly no, y/n instantly rejoiced. until just moments later, he planted a kiss to bellys lips.

that night, y/n slammed her best friends car door as they got to her house, and locked herself away in her room.

that whole summer was full of y/n being ditched for belly. so she spent most of the time working at the country club with her new friends stephen and Jeremiah

most nights were spent with stephen, on the beach, at the club, cuddling in his bed at the beach house. because y/n could not be alone, and stephen was there to fill a hole.

at nicole’s party, which can would never go to without y/n, they did not go together. y/n went with stephen.

y/n watched cam get thrown to the side by belly for Conrad, and y/n had tried to fill the hole with stephen, until barging into stephen and taylor in a bedroom at the party.

all the pent up anger since the bon fire spilled out at once as her eyes filled with tears. she ran out of the house, breaking down in the front yard. cam ran after her, worried for his one and only whether he knew she was or not.

“angel, are you okay?” he asked her, hugging her as tight as he could. but she pushed him off, shaking her head. “now you care? i’ve been hurting all summer and you only care NOW?” she pushed him away from her. “y/n i-“ “i’m so stupidly in love with you, can’t you see that?” she whispered. “what angel?”

“can i want to go home” belly said, walking up to the to. “go ahead cam, take her home” y/n said, wiping her tears. “but i-“

“it’s okay, i’ll hitch a ride with jere” she turned and walked away before he could run after her.

she did not hitch a ride from jeremiah, she attempted to walk home. she was tired, it was dark, and cold plus it was raining. she didn’t drink so that wasn’t a problem, but doing anything angry takes away from your senses.

she’d been walking for an hour. she wasn’t even walking home at this point, just walking.

a car pulled up next to her, rolling down the window. “angel please”

it was cameron. y/n ignored him, continuing to walk. cameron parked his car and hopped out, grabbing his friend.

“just listen to me y/n please”

y/n looked towards the ground, attempting to ignore his pleads

in a desperate attempt to get his point across, cameron lifted her chin and kissed her.

like something out of a movie, in the pouring rain, he kissed his best friend. “angel it’s always been you, everyone else has been just to try and make it not you. but it was always you and is always you. forever”

y/n was dumbfounded by his romantic speech. “cameron, i love you” she said, pressing their foreheads together

i am here to imply that i would like to know multiple details about your fishing village au 👀

i am SO glad u asked - i have story worked out in my head that would follow vivi and nami actually, that i MIGHT write a fanfiction for, but im rlllyyyy not a writer lol. but for now:

Luffy and Ace are small time commercial fishers together, with sabo who fishes w/ them in childhood and kind of just loiters around their work as an adult, until he quits his job and officially joins them.

Sabo works an office job to please his parents for the time being - as a child he ran away from the major city to the fishing village, and lived there for a couple of years until his parents found him and took him back, threatening to take dadan to court.

usopp, zoro, and sometimes luffy work the stall in the local fish market. the village they live in is known for fishing anchovies, and generally exports them worldwide (which is the primary economic contributor to the village), but luffy and ace just sell local and aren’t married to anchovies.

nami and nojiko sell citrus fruit (spec tangerines obvi) at the market a few stalls over

sanji runs the biggest restaurant in the village (the baratie), and has a deal w/ luffy and co where they get to eat free in exchange for free fish

brook is a street performer at the port who works for tips, generally at night.

franky is a shipwright for the fishing boats many of the residents use

dr. kureha is the towns doctor, and chopper (her son) is a nurse that works for her, he wants to go to medical school abroad eventually so he can take over as the village doctor.

vivi is a marine biology student who is studying abroad at the marine center located in the fishing village, trafalgar law is a professor/researcher of marine biology at her school, and is accompanying her on a year long program. the program takes place partially as guests on commercial fishing boats

nico robin and jinbe are marine biologists who are permanent residents at the marine center - nico robin acts as the main guide for vivis party (includes: shirahoshi, bepo (ta), rebecca, and conis).

koby and pedro work at the facility as well.

camie and hachi work a food stall at the market

robin strengthens the deal btwn the center and the commercial fishers by partnering with (befriending) luffy. they dont formally accept payment but robin manages to pay them without them noticing

boa hancock is the mayor of the major city, with a cabinet of all personal female friends. this isnt that important, but it is funny.

whitebeard is the mayor of rhe fishing village (loose).

shanks is a lying bum - luffy dediced he wanted to be a fisherman bc shanks would tell him all kinds of stories of his life in his profession, but they r in fact lies.

I picked "Vintage dress" because it reminded me of a silly exchange I had with @ozqueen recently, where we came up with the following scenario. Naturally, I wanted her to write a little something about it but your prompt kind of spurred me on. Does it make sense? Not really.

“Ja-ackk... get it off. Now please.” “I’m trying, Miss Fisher. If you would just stand still for a second, let me —”

A barely audible whimper escaped her quivering mouth as she stomped her heeled foot like a stubborn child that didn’t get what it wanted. On second thought, a child would have been easier to handle than an agitated and slightly panicked Miss Fisher who refused to cooperate even when it was for her own benefit.

Interrupting his musings, she unexpectedly turned around in a flash, fidgeting and flailing with her arms, the expression on her face transforming into one of disgust. “Urgh, I felt it moving! I can feel it crawling on my back, Jack, do something!”

The man in question couldn’t suppress a slightly exasperated eye roll, the one he had reserved specifically for Phryne-is-giving-me-grief situations. “Hold still, woman. I can’t see where it is if you keep moving around like a toddler.” To make a point and to stop her from moving, he did something risqué and stepped on the hem of her dress that, conveniently, reached all the way to the floor. He inwardly prayed she wouldn’t be miffed about it as long as he managed to get the spider off of her. What he didn’t anticipate, though, was that the jumping spider suddenly decided to switch location in one giant leap, only to end up on the side of her neck.

What happened next was akin to something out of his admittedly inappropriate night dreams that featured the lady detective quite frequently as of late. As soon as Phryne felt the ticklish little eight legs against her skin she let out a high pitched scream and leaped, practically imitating her arachnid nemesis, forward, as though hopping about like a bouncy ball would solve the problem. No, it caused another, entirely different one. The stretch between the hem of the dress trapped underneath his shoe and Phryne’s hasty movements caused the elasticity of the dress to yield. The fabric began to tear all the way from the bottom to the top seem where it connected with the strapless bodice hugging the curves of her torso. The dress lost its hold and layers of shiny, presumably expensive fabric fell off her body like the skin of a peeled onion.

Phryne must have either not registered what had happened or simply did not care. Her fearful eyes flicking to and fro in desperate search for the sneaky creature. It must have escaped for good as it was no longer resting on the smooth expanse of her neck, Jack concluded almost enviously, after he had finally managed to tear his eyes away from her barely clad form.

“I-is it gone?” she whispered. “I think so.” A heavy sigh of relief escaped her ruby lips and her bare shoulders slumped in a relaxed manner. It was only then that she noticed her state of undress, her eyes widening in shock this time. “My dress! Oh no!” “I will get you a new one," he offered remorsefully, "I apologize.” “Ah don’t be silly! There is no need. Madame Fleuri, however, shall never hear of this or she’ll rip my head off. Oh well, nothing the lovely Dot couldn’t fix. It’s vintage and basically irreplaceable...," she paused. "And so is the lingerie. At least that one’s still intact. Perhaps... you could check... just to make sure?” She lowered her eyelashes coquettishly and dropped the remaining fabric that had clung to her frame only a second prior, revealing a rather sheer forest green set of a silk cami set that was covering only the most necessary bits of pale rosy flesh. It left little to Jack’s imagination. To be fair, he had seen her in less, the pink feathers of her dance interlude branded into his memory most likely forever. But the lingerie currently facing him looked outright lethal on her. He closed his eyes, forcing his brain to revert back to professional Robbo mode. “You’re killing me, Miss Fisher,” is all he could mutter under the circumstances, unsure if it wasn’t just one of his fervent dreams after all. Either way, undaunted by his previous faux pas, Jack decided to take yet another risk. He slipped out of his coat and draped it around her bare shoulders, purposely avoiding her fiery, curious gaze as he pulled, with slightly shaky hands, the first two buttons through the holes. And if his fingers happened to skim her flushed skin underneath in the process, it was entirely accidental of course.
