im back on my bullshit (tsh spoilers)

yeah dont read this, im venting and my grammar isnt perfect.

so basically, i finished the secret history and i think what made me nearly cry the most was when richard got shot. no one fucking cared at all, the fucking window brought them more attention and then henry, dramatic as always, shoots himself because why the fuck not, right? god, if one thing made me sad it was how lonely richard must have felt in those moments. where he thought these people were going to be with him for the rest of his life and he literally gets shot being in the cross fire, not causing any trouble, nearly DYING and he has to say “what are we gonna do about me?” to grab their attention and I COULD HEAR HIM, I KNEW EXACTLY HOW THAT SOUNDED, it was heartbreaking. and then, like three years later, francis nearly commits suicide and is forced into some het marriage, camille turns him down because she loves henry (dead), and charles is basically living like luke crain from the haunting of hill house. i have no remorse for charles though, he’s fucked up as a person and none of the bad things he did were justified.

i do feel like richard and francis deserved better. i was hoping in the future they’d be roommates or something along those lines where they support each other, platonic or romantic. i wanted them to have a closer relationship because god knows francis is a fragile boy and he definitely needs someone a little more grounded who will take care of him with his panic attacks at three am and where the FUCK was camille when richard was dying over her? with henry!! honestly, i was glad that camille turned him down, he’s too good for her, his views are a little wonky and hes a questionable character but so is everyone else. richard is a g.

but in the end, it was such a good book. i loved every bit of it and im glad i found donna tartt, aka god

𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 ,  the reason this character got my interest was because … i Love a mysterious, enigmatic character. i am always drawn to them, and the idea of a lonely & kind of lost in life Princess?? who is trying to be a successful law grad?? is very cool, very exciting to me. i’m also a sucker for characters w tragic family histories so vera stuck out to me right away :-)

𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒓 ,  what are some characters that would inspire your portrayal of the character you’re interested in? ... camille macaulay from the secret history, molly carter from insecure, natalie scatorccio from yellowjackets, robin from high fidelity, sophie from howl's moving castle, jules vaughn from euphoria

𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆 ,  which character, if accepted, are you most interested in interacting with? ... desirae & theodore! desirae is another character that really caught my eye from this group, so i'm interested in seeing how these two would potentially play off one another with desirae being such a complicated, manipulative person and vera as a more genuine & reserved type person. do they butt heads or do they get along for the most part? is there drama or are they actual friends? did vera's loss impact their relationship in any way?- with theodore, i'm just excited to see their friendship manifest :) their connection really intrigues me and i'm interested to find out why she leaned on him to help her after her father died, why she's willing to let her walls down around him. just as i lean towards the more guarded characters, i also enjoy seeing close, softer friendships for them and how they grow because of that other person.

𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 , what’s an event or task idea that you have that can fit into the grad school and royal/rich lifestyle aspect of this group? ... hmmm maybe travelling together somewhere? the eight of them going on vacation to some fancy place they rented for a week and all the inevitable problems that unfold as they're there. or maybe a good old fashioned gala held by the university/one of the royal families that they all have to attend. (can you tell i'm not great at coming up with events)
