Hot off the heels of purging Camp Camp off YouTube to push it being an RT EXCLUSIVE (among other shows), RT had recently categorised “With Friends Like These” as the 20th episode of Season Four.
I mean I already threw a fit trying to convey to people that this was supposed to be a one-off anniversary special, only for RT to announce that CC season five was on the way…and now VERY SUBTLY they consider the anniversary special as a Season 4 episode. Just funk everything and funk you.

I feel like Harrison should've been a villain bc of all the abuse he goes through in this show.

anyway's here's my interpretation of The Forest
my interpretation is that it's about healing and working with your trauma. the forest is a metaphor for the parts of david that deal with trauma, and the creatures symbolize how trauma can affect the way a person protects themselves
something i've noted is the way each creature only attacks david once they've perceived him as a threat in some form. the wolf comes for him after he scares it with the water and rocks, the bees attack him after he accidentally breaks open their hive, and the bear attacks him after he scares it's child. also notice how the bear has scars roughly around the same spot david does too (though unsure whether or not this is intentional, the rest still stands)
[image description 1, 2: two screenshots of the bear from Camp Camp, Season 4 Episode 12: The Forest. the bear has scars on the side of it's torso, right arm, and it's back. /end ID]
now this makes sense in my funny little brain because of the way the wolf claws at his back after it jumps. it claws at his back in desperation, because it, like david, wants to survive.
with these in mind, i like to think of this:
David: Well, I think, maybe, the lesson was about kindness. You know, being nice to strangers. Even if those strangers weren't very nice to you, or even if they hurt you. It doesn't matter, because… you never know when a little kindness can come back around, when you need it the most.
as less in reference to whoever hurt him, and more in reference to a part of him that hurt him. does that make sense? the lesson is about being compassionate to yourself, even if that self hates you. be compassionate to your own self hatred. that's the closest way i can word it
i could make a longer and more detailed post if i wasn't busy and was able to verbalize it, but this post basically covers the gist of it all except the parallels to jasper's attack and what that could possibly mean. i didn't include it here since it would've upped the word count by a lot and it's honestly a bit of a stretch, but i'll get around to it. if anyone has their own interpretation then i'd love to see it!

I will give season 3 this. It was camp.
Mike and Will have a melodramatic fight in the rain, there's a mall dress up montage set to Madonna's Material Girl, Nancy and Jonathan almost die in a hospital, they defeat the monster with fireworks and NEVER ENDING STORY, STEVE WEARS A SAILOR SUIT THE ENTIRE TIME

tiny details about the PJO TV show that I appreciated (episode 3)
a followup to THIS post.
Grover having a conversation with the pegasus
The candy Annabeth goes to grab from the gas station isn't real in our world... meaning that the viewer is just as unfamiliar with it as she is
Percy's bed is the only bed in cabin 3 (and there were probably no beds in that cabin until he was claimed)
Medusa's dress makes her look like a marble statue
Grover, who is theoretically Percy's best friend, calls Sally "the only person who ever really cared about [Percy]." Self loathing? Guilt? A simple acknowledgment that he only came into Percy's life less than a year ago? Awareness of how much he's lied to Percy? SO much to unpack in one sentence.
Both Annabeth and Percy's opinions of Medusa can be summed up as "I believe everything my mother says about her."
