I listened to the entirety of Camp Here and There in hope of hearing "Yes to err is human, so don't be one!" in it but it wasn't, only the instrumentals. Campfire songs still slaps as an album. Also Camp Here and There is pretty alright. Hope Will makes more music for it when season 2 happens.

Kind of happy to see I’m not the only one dreading/hating the outlaws webtoon preemptively. The massive amount of fans and fandom obsession Jason gets sometimes baffles me (although I understand where the appeal comes from). And it’s starting to drive me mad how he’s becoming the fandom-center of everything bat-related (see eg all the Jason & Damian content I’ve been seeing on my dash, or how wildly popular Jason’s appearances in WFA are, etc). Or maybe I’m just an old bitter Dick stan and i hate how Jason seems to be slowly taking Dick’s place in so many ways.

I think since Jason's gotten more "screen time" across all types of media, he's drawn out more people who like the "bad boy rebel who's secretly a softy" character type. (Please note that I find that descriptor of him funny and not entirely accurate lmao.)

Within the fandom specifically, there's a lot of misinformation about Jason which further contributes to people's fantasies about what they think he's like. For example, people thinking Jason was Tim's favorite Robin (fanon). People thinking Jason admires Wonder Woman in the same way Dick admires Superman (fanon). People thinking Jason is Alfred's favorite (fanon). People thinking that pit madness drove Jason to do horrible shit and that he would never do any of those things to his family if he was in control of himself (fanon). Yada yada.

Then there's a lot of stuff from fics that gets perpetuated throughout the fandom like how people think Dick can't cook for shit while Jason is some superb chef who constantly has to nag Dick for eating sugary junk food. WFA is also at fault for the way that they portray Dick. For example, when Jason was trying to comfort Dick about the whole Tim situation, he told Dick that he needed boundaries, and Dick was like, "Boundaries?" as if he was some innocent child.

Stuff like that helps keep the Jason fantasy afloat. Some people aren't aware they've bought into the fantasy while others are gladly like, "Hell yeah, I'll take this fantasy over the shit they give us in canon. This is how Jason should be."

Dick is, unfortunately, hated by various Jason and Tim stans which also leads to Jason being propped up more as the favored big brother in some circles of the fandom. And it's funny because only a week or so ago, Jason slammed a crowbar across Tim's face and broke his nose. You know what Dick did to Tim in Urban Legends #10? Expressed concern for him and gave him advice about what he should do about Bruce. (Lmao I know someone is going to bring up the fact that Vampire!Dick curb stomped Tim not too long ago but newsflash: that happened in a different universe and has no bearing on Dick and Tim in main continuity.)

Anywho. I try to block out as much of the Jason fantasy as I can by following people who pretty much only have an interest in Dick. Life is much better that way ✌🏻.

It’s so nice coming back to fan fiction because of bg3 and seeing how we all share a background in dragon age love. I was an Alistair/Fenris/Cullen pipeline to Astarion. The chokehold Alistair had me in, the reason I sought fan fiction originally and now I’m back. I found you because of astarion and now am peeking at your dragon age fics 🫡 did you ever get into DA2? I just started replaying it because bg3 made me miss Fenris and am now realizing he is basically the same character as astarion 😅

heyyy anon!!! Dragon Age is indeed my OG love, and mostly I'm just excited that BG3's success will hopefully prove to the games industry that these kinds of games do have a lot of appeal and give us more in the genre of 'narrative-heavy fantasy dating sim with occasional combat encounters'.

I did play DA2! Unfortunately, while I love all the companions, I did not ship many of them with my Hawke - or at least, none of the ones you could kiss :') I created a purple!mage, thinking Anders' characterisation would be the same as Awakening, and then was disappointed when her silliness and his newfound sadness didn't quite gel. I ended up romancing both Fenris and Isabela on different playthroughs... neither of them quite worked to be honest, but I'm never going to hold that against the devs bc 18 months to complete a game was crazy stupid. I'm a Hawke/Varric girlie at heart, if only bc Varric is one of my favourite fantasy bards (and also. it's true love).

I agree that Fenris/Astarion have a lot of overlap... but if you're looking for the same flavour of fic as my Astarion content, then my Zevran/Surana were The Blueprint.

It was a lovely evening. Simply sublime.

For those who may fancy themselves a night under the stars, it was perhaps the perfect night for camping... However, for those who didn't want to go through the motions of needlessly sleeping out in the wilderness when you could easily still enjoy the stars, then go into the comfort of a nice, warm, bug-free room at a nearby inn - complete with an actual bed and bathroom safe from the elements... It was a perfect night for that too!

In the fading light of day, around an oddly sizeable campfire, there sat four figures. At a glance, it would seem they were doing little more than most in a social gathering involving fire would do: just hanging out around it. The talkers would talk, the listeners would listen and those who wished to partake of the large, homemade puffs of fluffy confectionery could do so however they saw fit, which...

Really is just to say all four of them were roasting said sugary puffs and having a jolly good time while doing so!

Chit-chatting away about some pleasant memories and experiences of yore, Mina seemed even more buoyant and bubbly than usual (never underestimate the power of giving lots of sugar to a tiny newt lady.) Lorien offered a similar caliber of enthusiasm whenever the opportunity presented itself as well. Quietly, Branson and Sal listened to the two, playing the part of captive audience with relative ease.

Despite all the scintillating stimulus that may meet the senses here, however, it was at that very moment that Sal felt an unfamiliar presence... the sound of leaves rustling in a nearby bush or something of the like seemed to follow.

Branson seemed to pick up on the sound as well. The violinist and the newt seemed unaware of it. Neither of them said a word.

It wasn't until another soft, suspicious addition to the ambience of the night revealed itself that one of the two finally spoke up.

"There is room for one more, should you wish to join us."

Though she did not look in their direction, the invite was cast out for whoever lurked in the shadows...

Briefly, there was silence. Having missed out on the auditory cues, if Mina or Lorien didn't know any better, they would think this was the makings of a ghost story in the works! Who better to tell such a tale than the ghost-of-sorts among them, after all.

Unbeknownst to all four of these friendly fellows, however, it could be noted that there was a chance - and only a chance - that whatever phantasms may linger among the nearby brush were of a distinctly @royaldeceit and/or @danthekickingman design...

This might be controversial but I think K*nTae and Ok*Kagu are Sorachi's way of mocking stereotypical cliche male crush behaviour like stalking (Kondo) and bullying (Okita) the girl you like. But we know Otae never reciprocates Kondo's crush nor Kagura Okita's. In fact, given the choice, Kagura would set Okita on fire just to keep Shinpachi warm.
