My future Gravity Falls Headcanons (do we even still talk about Gravity Falls on here?)
Dipper:
After finishing school, Dipper decides to start a paranormal investigation bureau (nicknamed the P.I.B). For the first few years, this operates mostly as a travelling business with a hotline number for people in distress to call, but as the bureau gets more business and notoriety, he is eventually able to start multiple branches, and settle down (a little bit, he's comparatively not very settled down, there is still plenty of monster hunting) in Gravity Falls. He probably does a few degrees remotely because he loves learning, however he was irritated by the fact that the colleges never offered degrees in 'cryptozoology' or other psuedosciences, so he surprised everyone by not going to college straight after school, instead choosing to focus on researching and investigating the paranormal. He's also probably written a few books on the topic. He marries Pacifica (sorry not sorry), and they have a few kids.
Mabel:
Mabel spends much of her high school career trying to figure out what she was going to do after school, but eventually decides on being an art teacher (she gets to do what she loves, but also around people all the time), although while she was in college she spent her vacations working at Dipper's Paranormal Investigation bureau. She moves around a lot, partially because she loves adventure, partially because she's still trying figure herself out a bit, and also because she keeps getting burnt by love (although she does get wiser when it comes to romance, she still has a terrible tendency to get far too attached). However, she eventually comes to the realisation that she doesn't need a significant other to be completely fulfilled, as long as she has her family around her, and she's a fabulous single mother to her daughter. She still loves glitter, and all things sugary, and even as an adult prefers Mabel Juice over coffee.
Stan and Ford:
Still two bickering old men travelling the world and annoying each other, until death do they part.
Soos:
He marries Melody, and they have quite a few kids, to whom Soos is, of course, the best dad ever. Soos is also a great Mr Mystery, although he lacks some of Stan's charisma and flair, he's still pretty good at it, helped by the fact that his Mr. Mystery is a lot more likeable than Stan's was.
Wendy:
Wendy spends the beginning of her adult life trying to figure out what she was doing with herself. She moved out of Gravity Falls as soon as she could, as she felt that the small-town community was stifling her, but pretty quickly found herself lost in Portland. She spends a few years working minimum-wage jobs and bouncing in and out of toxic relationships, but of course, refusing to admit her problems (except to Mabel, because Mabel could see something was wrong and nobody escapes the Power Of Mabel). Wendy is, however, a founding member of the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, and eagerly agrees to travel the country and fight investigate monsters with her friends. She keeps doing this, and even after Dipper steps back to take a less active role, Wendy takes over the travelling branch. She never marries, and is the 'cool aunty' to all of her friend's kids, who gives questionable advice, buys the coolest gifts, and encourages them to do dangerous things.
Pacifica:
By the time Pacifica finishes school, she is well and truly ready to get out of under her parents roof, so when Dipper offers that she join him and Wendy in the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, she jumps at the chance. Although she still loves to take care of her appearance, and can be a little bit prissy at times, she can fight HARD, and her weapon of choice is a golf club. She manages to complete her law degree mostly remotely, and in her mid-twenties, retires from Paranormal Investigation to become a district attorney (and she is good at it).
Candy and Grenda:
Candy gets a doctorate in thermonuclear physics, and has written several groundbreaking thesis papers. She has also written several groundbreaking spicy romance novels.
Grenda marries Marius and is an Austrian baroness now, and has a vlog series.
Gideon:
Gideon sorts himself out and manages to become reasonably good friends with Mabel, and he and Dipper are...amicable. He goes on to become a country music star.

my most controversial gravity falls take is that it shouldve been mabel helping pacifica with the ghosts in her mansion instead of dipper. i redrew some scenes in hopes people will see the vision :)
ive been working on these pieces for like. two months now (i kept getting distracted) so i also added some early concept art under the cut!!!

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY TO GRAVITY FALLS!
Back in Oct. 2018, my project for inktober was at least one pic from every episode.  Because of the pace, there were restrictions; I did each on a post-it note, limited coloring, and chose things that would fit the square format and that I could get done in time (between working full-time and owl-banding most nights).  I always sort of wanted to redo a bunch of those; but really, what occasion would merit putting in THAT much time and effort for a project of that size?
Well, how about for the 10th anniversary of the premiere of Gravity Falls?
I’m not saying this was a *smart* project to tackle, but I thought it might be “easier” because I had first drafts of most of the pieces; I just wanted to redo them so they’d look better, with 4 more years of practice under my belt and a new move to digital art.  (Narrator: it was not really easier.)  Some I redid completely, or did new to create the full sets above.  Basically, once I’d hit on this idea, and decided to link it to the refrain of “How Far We’ve Come”, I was committed; there was no way I was going to *not* try to do it.
I know that “How Far We’ve Come” gets fanvidded for eight billion different shows.  But, the first time I heard the song was in one of the first Gravity Falls fanvids I ever watched (link  below), so it will always be a GF song for me.
Gravity Falls has meant a lot to me for the past 6 years that I’ve been active in the fandom.  I have no doubt it will always have a big place in my heart. I’m definitely not done with things I’d like to do for it.  I’m so glad to see people coming together to celebrate this big anniversary!
ALSO: needless to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Stan and Ford!

Gravity Falls School-Related Headcanons
Both Dipper and Mabel are good students, although Mabel does occasionally get in trouble for getting distracted/not sitting still/talking in class, however, they're both generally considered to be good kids.
Dipper generally excels in all of his academic subjects, however his favourite subjects are biology and ancient history. He's usually pretty quiet in class, except every now and again he says either the most unhinged or most badass thing ever and everyone is freshly reminded that yes, Dipper Pines is, in fact, in this class (this is heavily inspired by my best friend who is exactly like that). Dipper doesn't hate PhysEd as much as he used to pre-Gravity Falls, however he's still not a huge fan of it.
Mabel's best subjects are the artistic ones, and she is instantly beloved by all the art teachers. She does a ton of extracurriculars, partially because she has a bunch of interests, and also because she has a tendency to join clubs and such because her friends/guys she's interested in are in them, and she has participated to some degree in every school musical she's had the chance to take part in. The only class she really struggles with a lot is maths, because it's 'too boring and logic-y' for her to stay focused on, particularly if Dipper isn't there to help her. She's also a cheerleader, because of course she is.
Friendgroup wise, Mabel has a lot of friendgroups. She has friends from all of her various classes and extracurriculars, friends she knows from elementary school (I had a long mindblank whereupon I forgot the word for 'primary school' in the USA, just thought I should let you know), and of course, she has extrovert-adopted Dipper and his friends. Despite this whole army of friends, she doesn't have any particularly close friends in Piedmont, and if she's asked who her best friend is, she'll respond with Candy and Grenda, who remain the only people who can quite match her energy.
Dipper, meanwhile, has pretty much had the same one best friend, named Ethan DiMarcos, forever. The two of them have very similar interests (although Ethan can't quite match Dipper's enthusiasm for all things paranormal), and tend to keep to themselves much of the time, and have pretty much had each other's back. While I'm not a huge fan of the idea that Dipper has been relentlessly bullied his entire school career and has no friends, it is canon that he has been victim of some bullying, and he's certainly not popular. Post-Gravity Falls, I think he's actually able to stand up to the bullies a little better, and generally he and Ethan have each other's backs. They do have a third friend, Paige Li, who they only met at the beginning of high school, because she was trying to find other DD&MD fans. Paige has had a crush on Dipper for ages, but despite Ethan and Mabel trying to pull strings, nothing is likely ever to come from it. Speaking of Ethan and Mabel, they did date for about a month in ninth grade, which horrified Dipper, especially since he was put in the middle of it when they broke up, thankfully amicably.
Now, I have said plenty about the Pineses, let's talk about what the other characters are like in school:
Candy's best subjects are chemistry, physics and music, and manages to be an impressively good student, despite reading fanfiction in class.
Grenda isn't necessarily the greatest student in most classes, however, she's BRILLIANT at English. For all she lacks in verbally diplomatic skills, she's incredibly smooth on paper. Grenda also, unsurprisingly, is also very good at PhysEd.
Pacifica's best subject is mathematics, and unsurprisingly she excels particularly at any finance-related maths. She's also the star of the school's debate team, because she has the power to crush people in the grip of logic. She also refuses point-blank to join the cheer team, even though they really want her.
Gideon's true calling is the stage, so drama class is his best class, although he's a brilliant student at most subjects.
Wendy and her friends are decidedly not good students, as they're all more interested in having fun and causing trouble than doing work (except Thompson, of course). This results in them being decidedly not the teacher's favourites.
I think that's all I got for now, thanks for reading!
