Guilt filled you as you thought about what the boys go through every night. They were torn apart and fixed every night and there was little you could do about it. If you tried to stop them, you might be killed to protect the companies’ investments. If you called the police, they may not care since the boys may not be considered living creatures. If you tried to out the candy company through social media and the like, it might make more trouble for Sun and Moon. Might get them locked away or worst. Like if the factory closed the tours and kept everyone but close workers inside.

“I wish I could do more for you guys. I can’t even sneak anything in for you cause they check everyone’s bags at the gate and stuff.” You frowned sadly. “They even check pockets.”

“Couldn’t you take medicine to keep you from being in pain at least? You know, during the…harvest?” You asked, cringing at the word harvest.

Moon shook his head as he kept drinking from the syrup tube. He tried to suck more, but the tube seemed to have run dry, making him look at it with a sigh. “No, it changes the taste of the candy. And the effects. One time, Freddy found some painkillers from one of the harvesters once, and all of the chocolate and jelly that was harvested the next day was considered tainted and defective.”

You blinked before looking at them. “Chocolate AND jelly?”

Sun rubbed his healing arms. “Didn’t you go through the tour? Many times?”

“Not going to lie, I kind of zoned out after seeing you guys. I was focusing on you guys since…you know, my job was to get the Sundrop and Moondrops.”

“Sorry, habit…But, how are you going to be paid? Don’t you have to be paid to live?” Sunny asked worriedly.

The fact that he was worried about you meant a lot. You had hoped they thought of you as someone they could trust. You may be a PI, but you wanted others to trust you to do right by people. “Don’t you worry about me, Sunny, I’ll be okay. Thank you though.” You smiled. “Tell me about the others though! Freddy is chocolate and jelly??”

“Ooh yeah! So He’s a chocolate covered Gummy bear, and Bonnie is a chocolate bunny.” Sun said cheerfully. “The company turns the candy they take off of them into mini versions of them. Them and Chica are a big hit around Easter.”

“Oh yeah, Chica is like an easter Peep right?”

“Uuuuh, you mean marshmallow and sugar right?”

“Yeah of course! Those are Easter Peeps. What about Foxy, I heard He was something weird...”

Sun made a somewhat disgusted face. “Oh yes! He has a candy shell like us, but instead of space inbetween his endo and shell, he’s stuffed with Peanuts! Bitter hard peanuts. His harvest is usually just a poke to break the shell and get all the peanuts to drain out.”

“Bet you envy him a little.” You smiled compassionately.

You snorted at the thought but tried to stifle your laugh. “I’m sorry, That must be painful, I shouldn’t laugh.” You giggled.

“It is actually kind of funny. He doesn’t seem to mind it too much. I think he might not have much feeling in his legs anymore or something cause half the time he doesn’t seem to notice.” Sunny giggled.

“It’s almost time to open.” Moon suddenly interjected. “You should get going.”

“Oh wow already?? Gosh time fly’s…okay, I’ll see you guys again in a couple days, okay?”

Is Five Nights at Candy's, Popgoes, Or Any fnaf fangame Canon to the Au?

TL;DR: The mascots, companies, and maybe the restaurants can be canon, but only as easter eggs mentioned by name. The fan-games themselves; their plots and protagonists are most certainly not, because not every animatronic restaurant chain needs a man behind the slaughter.

I tend to make bits and pieces of other fan-games canon to Freddy & Friends, but not the entireties of the fan-games themselves.

For example, Henry confirms in a previous ask that he’s the one responsible for the creation of Old Candy before they made a contract with a different company (implied to be Rowboatics Corp) to develop their animatronics. This confirms the existence of Candy’s Burgers & Fries within the AU.

However, that does NOT go to say that the ENTIRETY of the Five Nights at Candy’s lore is canon to Freddy & Friends. The restaurant, mascots, and company are canon because they’re already implied to be, but Mary Schmidt cannot be canon (due to conflicting lore), nor is it likely that anyone died within the establishment and names associated at all.

If a character or company is mentioned by name, then it’s typically meant to serve as an easter egg for the fans familiar with the fandom and nothing more. Yes, they usually have their own stories to tell (that I usually develop on the fly), but their stories won’t expand beyond anything other than trivia at least, or side stories at most.

You slipped out of the bathroom and into the early morning crowd of tourists, the people with nothing better to do who enjoyed the tours of beautiful candy. You were very tired from staying up so late, but you tried to enjoy the tour anyways. This time you paid more attention to the other parts of the tour, seeing Freddy and Bonie together, both having chocolate as their main candy.

They seemed to have a little act of their own that was a cute song and dance. You felt like the company might have had a hand in writing the lyric’s of their song, but they seemed legitimately happy to have something to do when tourists came through.

Chica and Foxy were next. Glittering sugar fell from Chica’s body constantly, making her seem almost magical. Her cupcake on the platter bounced around at the sight of people, and he made a joke about gobbling up all the deliciously looking people walking by. The kids in the crowd giggled, but you had a sickening feeling in your gut that good ol’ Carl Cupcake was far from joking. Especially since Chica grabbed him and placed him under a glass cake dome, making him bonk his little face against it as she shushed him.

In other area’s, there were other candy beings. There was a group made of elite candy-coated chocolate. The kind of chocolate most could only dream of being able to afford. The form those creatures took seemed to be an Elephant and hippo. A heterochromia Pig, coated in a pink candy shell was said to be the richest dark chocolate, and a Green Fudge frog sat next to him, both seeming to relax and not mind the tour.

Then there was the oddity of the Taffy beings. All had the same coloring, similar faces (as if they might have been siblings) but they all had small differences. One was simple, long black elongating arms and fingers. He sat in a bright teal box decorated like a present. He(?) Would pop out of the box like a jack in the box and waved his arms around delicately, gentle as a soft summer breeze. They simply called him puppet.

The second taffy being would peek out of the lid of his own purple striped box. He would only come out once a day, if you were lucky. You’ve never seen his full self. They say he liked the color green, and if enough people wore it, he might come out to greet them. Apparently St. Patrick’s day was always busy because he came out almost all the time, provided enough people were celebrating it.

His gold pinprick eyes set on you, making you freeze up. You hadn’t worn green today, yet he stared and slowly lifted his lid, showing the singular lopsided jester hat.

The crowd around you ‘oooh’-ed at the sight of the creature whose form warped and warbled right in front of you all. Sun and Moon and told you they had started as Endo skeleton’s, but you had a feeling the taffy puppets might have started as something else, since they were noodly and almost abstract.

The marionette, as the second one was called, stared at you, making your face flush in confusion and embarrassment. Did they recognize you as a rule breaker? Since you had stayed the night? Or was he looking at someone else? It sure felt like it was you. It might just be your guilty conscious.

Globs of taffy began to fall off both puppets. A worker rushed in and began to collect the candy where they fell on a clean (assumingly so) matt. People took pictures and you swear you saw someone duck down and reach through the railing in an attempt to reach one of the treats to keep.

“You may purchase the candy at the end of the tour, no free samples.” The Tour guide announced.

The third box, that had remained unmoving next to the marionette, seemed to be a plain brown crate. The lid bumped up slightly, making the people collecting up the taffy flinch. The other puppets didn’t seem to notice the development as they continued to shed taffy on the floor. The lip jostled again. Suddenly, the spotlights that lit up the greenroom for the taffy being’s went out, and a large metal door slammed down, blocking your tour group from the room. Or, perhaps, it was blocking the taffy beings from all of you.

“Ha ha, wow, that little guy usually only comes out at night, fancy that.” The tour guy laughed awkwardly. “They’ll be alright folks, that one just likes the shed in a uh…explosive way.” A loud thudding and almost wet sound pounded behind the door, making your stomach drop. You didn’t even want to imagine what was going on behind this door.

You swallowed and took one last glance at the door blocking you from the marionette’s view, yet somehow, you felt like it was still staring at you.
