Canes Venatici: dark prince, black knight, magnate

in alyssa’s story, canes venatici was renamed corvus, but for the sake of this, i’ll use their originial name. CV’s keyword is Death and they lead their life with the compass of darkness. They tend to be unhinged, saying and doing things that are out of pocket and crazy. Uncontrollable, they also have a standoffish aura about them, like you can't just come up to them and talk to them, unless they do first. They're similar to Poppies (feminine CM) in that manner. Alyssa Sharpe describes them as people who don't come out of their cave to do anything unless there's an adventure, a princess to save, or a holy grail to search for.

I’m not really a certified person to add my thoughts, but I want to say that their darkness is within themselves and an important part of them to explore. The regressive canes venatici’s seem to be the ones that indulge in their darkness and don’t do anything about it but add pain and suffering to the world. The progressive canes venatici’s use Light to shine on their darkness with introspection. Exploring their own and others’ dark caves, they can add beauty and knowledge to the world by going within.

Canis Major: hero, legend, myth

now canis major’s keyword is light....cm was renamed pyxis recently but bc it’s not official, i’ll again use the original name. the old canis major vs canes venatici polarity was described as if cm’s were superman, and cv’s were batman. canis major’s were described as the stereotypical alpha male that is liked by everyone, has leadership qualities and is always striving to be the best. it’s the archetype that society, movies, media always deems the masculinity should try to be. although there is a lot of truth to existing information about canis majors, it also feels oversimplified, as if there’s a missing and neglected layer of the canis major.

if you look at a canis major’s lives they definitely use light as their compass, having big dreams to play big roles. but without darkness or struggles, they tend to be ass hats, always being hard on other people, they become like jerry from rick and morty, criticizing his wife’s abilities while being a couch surfer. when balanced with darkness, they can use death/darkness/life struggles and introspection for balance to keep themselves in check, humbled & instead of being a scorching light, they can be a beautiful light and do their thang

heavy is the head that wears the crown

cassidy and clyemnestra's mother is part celestial being and is descended from celestial royalty

this makes the marston sisters princesses but since they don't like in the celestial realm it isn't something that is very important to them

cassidy would never be able to take a position of power due to her frequent use of dark magic and although clem doesn't use dark magic her marston heritage would prevent her from taking up the crown

their mother doesn't currently serve the celestial court at all but it is her birth right

this is more of a fun fact than anything else that the sisters share and does not impact their lives much. neither sister has ever been to the celestial realm

M94: a Double Ring Galaxy

Most galaxies don't have any rings of stars and gas -- why does M94 have two? First, spiral galaxy M94 has an inner ring of newly formed stars surrounding its nucleus, giving it not only an unusual appearance but also a strong interior glow. A leading origin hypothesis holds that an elongated knot of stars known as a bar rotates in M94 and has generated a burst of star formation in this inner ring. Observations have also revealed another ring, an outer ring, one that is more faint, different in color, not closed, and relatively complex. What caused this outer ring is currently unknown. M94, pictured here, spans about 45,000 light years in total, lies about 15 million light years away, and can be seen with a small telescope toward the constellation of the Hunting Dogs (Canes Venatici).
