He says “hey try this game I've been playing.” I say “Okay!” #I have never heard of this game. I pick the mercenary. I go through 5 min of character history and background. I am mauled to death by dogs #It took me 4 resets to even get in the dungeon. But I finally get there. I am caught by a guard. He cuts off all but one of my limbs #I am forced to crawl around in a blood and corpse pit until the game tells me 'give up idiot'. #I reset. I am mauled by dogs again. I realize this is not for me but I am intrigued enough to go home and watch some playthroughs #And WOW what an interesting game it is! I really do appreciate games that blend their design philosophy with the theme it wants to set #This is a game about fear and hunger. And persevering. And penis (my god is there a lot of penis) #I recommend this to people who like extremely challenging games and can handle the many *content warnings* within this series #If the idea of Bloodborne/eldenring and undertale having a little RPG maker baby sounds appealing to you - give it a shot #It's made by ONE GUY and it's a great horror game. I am just really bad at it. #My friends just enjoy putting me in situations where I scream and yell. We don't talk about the corn mazes. Or the other horror game nights #Apparently I'm funny when I'm Scared! #As people who follow me on twitter might know; I am deep in the pits of this series right now. I will be back with more art.

If you like the post-apocalyptic and worldbuilding and religious deconstruction and found family aspects of tlou I am B E G G I N G you to read parable of the sower by Octavia E. Butler it’s so good you will not regret it I promise

#everyone always says to read the road by cormac McCarthy but the road is basically just a worse version of parable so!! #also this one actually has a female mc like tlou does #I think you would especially like it if you have a love hate relationship with tlou2 like I do #because while it’s similarly devastating to it’s main character it’s much more hopeful of a story #also this is niche but if you liked the fic I wrote from the pov of Tommy and Maria’s kid you would really like the series as a whole #bc parable of the talent has similar vibes #anyway if the world of tlou is something you really like about the series I cannot recommend sower enough #(I’m finally getting around to reading the graphic novel which is why I’m thinking about this lol) #tlou #the last of us #parable of the sower #book rec

I'm kinda loving everything even when I don't understand it yet. If ep 7 drives anything home to me, especially looking back at the old transcripts because I'm too emotionally compromised to listen to old episodes again yet, it's that this is meticulously planned with an incredible level of care and I'm on this train til it stops.

One of the things I like most about Sharp Objects is the way it does flashbacks. It conveys memory and the pasts of the characters so creatively, it doesn’t smash-cut to the past or re-play clips whenever they need to show a character remembering something, it weaves the sounds and images together in a way that flows. As a viewer, it makes me feel like my intelligence is being respected and that the makers of the show trust the viewer enough not to spoon feed them information and create a really clunky image

Rewatching Kizazi Moto and holy shit it's so good. I beg you, if you haven't seen it already, please please watch it. I promise you will not be disappointed.

On a very related note, episode two, Mkhuzi: The Spirit Racer is definitely a pilot episode and I desperately hope it becomes its own series. That episode is one of the best single episodes of any series I've seen and I so badly want to see more of that world.

been thinking about one of my favorite undertale fics lately, it’s like. the best undertale fic to me if not the best fic on ao3 period. i liek it so much. it’s the scientist series by talkingsoup and i will Never stop talking about like i Know i have mentioned it before but i am physically incapable of shutting up about it. it’s so good. i once tried to get my best friend to read it even though she doesn’t know english but i tried to convince her to read it with google translate (it didn’t last long but it was worth the effort). it’s So Good. i discovered it in like 2018 or 2019 and have reread it at least two times since it’s just like AUEHGGHHH. gaster’s downfall and then him haunting the narrative … the exploration of sans’ backstory …… the characterizations ………. it’s all very well written and also very dark and traumatic. They make Shit happen to these characters. but it gets better. i think ? i have never finished the series because iirc it only finished around a year ago and i haven’t reread it since. but i am Thinking about it. it’ll probably take me months because 1. i have to come to terms with the fact that one of my favorite stories will be Finished(tm) 2. i have to hype myself up to reread it because it’s a very long series with like 400k words or something AND the second installment is verrrry dark and heavy considering it explores the whole reset bullshit and flowey is putting sans through 29263937 meatgrinders

#so yeah. i need to finally finish reading it sometime but i dont know if i’m strong enough #but i like it so much. very good story. definitely recommend if u are interested in undertale and the skelebros specifically #but also you should absolutely heed the warnings and i’m so serious when i say it’s super dark. Lots of bad shit happens #i thiiiink it gets better though? like i’m pretty sure the series has a happy ending. so that’s good. probably #also another one of my favorite undertale fic series is And Whither Then I Cannot Say which is also skelebros centered but mostly #frisk centered (love u frisk) and the plot of it is about the undertale aus. which i at first was . scared of #because if you were a ut fan in 2016 like i was then you definitely have some sort of trauma from all the au shit. i really found the fic #mostly by chance. but i was bored so i said Fuck it and then i read it. and it was super good ?!?!?!?!? #it has an interesting plot and complicated characters and interesting character dynamics #it also made me laugh several times even though i don’t often react that strongly to fics #but yeah i havent reread it or caught up on it in. a long while. which i should do #umm. someday. someday …. #cramswering #undertale fic ramble for today

I'm reading more of I Think Our Son Is Gay and it's really making me so emotional reading how much Tomoko thinks about Hiroki's emotional wellbeing and how much she adores him

#I have mixed feelings about this being such a short series #I'm kinda sad that once I have the last two volumes it's. not gonna take me long to get through them #but I think Okura was able to end it where he wanted like idk if this was meant to be a long running story #and I think emotionally it would be too much if it went on for long enough #but for real I love this manga so much I cannot recommend it enough
