Every day grows in me the suspicion that Peter Capaldi is The Doctor, and the main reason he fought to play the role is so he could cover his tracks more easily.
"Oh, this? I was just preparing to play the part."
I am a huge fan of Doctor Who, especially his 12th incarnation in the person of Peter Capaldi 💘
For me, the 12th incarnation of the Doctor is the most worthy and logical conclusion to the entire history of the Doctor as a whole. The series with him are full of not only interesting stories, puzzles and confrontations. Questions are asked that the Doctor himself thinks aloud on a more philosophical level, asks himself if he is a good man and what weight banal human kindness has in our world.
He differs from all other incarnations in his maturity not only externally, but also internally, which makes him my inspiration and motivation, gives me principles that I would like to follow in life.
Watch this amazing series, if you haven't done it yet, you won't regret it 🌌
“Les Carnets de Siegfried (Benediction)” biopic de Terence Davies (2021) - sur la vie du poète Siegfried Sassoon (1886-1967) - avec Jack Lowden, Tom Blyth, Calam Lynch, Jeremy Irvine, Matthew Tennyson, Kate Phillips, Simon Russell Beale, Suzanne Bertish, Lia Williams, Ben Daniels, Peter Capaldi, Anton Lesser et Gemma Jones, mars 2024.
I just finished series 7 in my latest binge of Doctor Who, and just those few seconds of Capaldi at the end forcibly reminded me so hard of how much he is My Doctor. Doctor, My Doctor, how I’ve missed you.
Due to the convergence of my aversion to horror and Blink being the first episode I walked in on my parents watching, it took me a long time to get into Doctor Who. My sibling, five years younger than me, started watching long before I did. I don’t know what finally got me to get into DW, but I know that I binged the entirety of New Who first (and the like 5 classic arcs available on Netflix at the time), and so I didn’t watch any episodes live until the Day of the Doctor, which stood as my favorite episode until Husbands of River Song. My first live episode had Capaldi’s cameo. My second live episode had Capaldi’s introduction. My first live season was Capaldi’s first. Is it any wonder why he is My Doctor?
What’s ironic is that, when I first heard the casting, I couldn’t imagine him as the Doctor. Both Whitaker and Gatwa I could/can imagine running around the TARDIS console, coming up with plans on the fly. Capaldi I couldn’t. Maybe that made his wonderful first lines hit all the better.
Also ironic is that Clara is my least favorite NuWho companion after Rose. Please don’t come after me. I just don’t like Doctor/Companion romances where the companion believes that somehow they’ll be the one who stays by the Doctor until the very end.
He will always be my Doctor. And I'm thankful and blessed that I met him, he is a humble and kind human being. He always told me to keep drawing and never give up and I still stuck by it to this day.
To cosplay a few of his characters just brings such joy and fun coz I just love cosplaying the 12th Doctor and they strangely suit me too !!
Happy Birthday Peter I hope you have a well deserved wonderful day.
Malcolm tucker is something else. Really enjoying The Thick Of It at the moment. It's a bit old and the initial shaky camera thing in the first two season is jarring but Peter capaldi is iconic. I hope to God it's not accurate to how UK politics are (but I fear and know in my heart it is)
