Concept: the justice league finds out that Blaze and Satanus, the rulers of hell, are kids of their ‘even more of a boy scout than Superman’ coworker’s “boss” and think Shazam is the Christian God. They ask Billy really vague questions that lead Billy into confusing them even more and they become convinced that Marvel’s Wizard guy is God with a capital G and Marvel’s either an angel or the second coming of Jesus.

Meanwhile Shazam doesn’t even know what the Bible is and his knowledge about religion is so outdated he still thinks Solomon’s Judaism is new age and not worth his time to research such a ‘fad’ religion, but he knows humans will make a religion out of anything as well as bastardize existing ones and very well could have mixed up actual tales that involve him, his allies, and his children into some sort of melting pot of a religion.

So when someone finally asks Marvel outright if his “boss” is God, Billy goes ‘wait… old guy in white robes and sandals, with long white hair and a beard… lives in space… aka the “heavens”, whose a ghost(Holy Spirit), and knows everything(historama)??? I need to dig deeper into this hold on guys’ and goes off to ask the wizard.

So when Billy asks the Wizard he just tells Billy “well, my boy, if so many things match up, maybe it is so and the tales of myself and my champions grew so estranged from their origins or mixed in with other beliefs that it can explain the things that aren’t true to our reality.”

Then The Canonical Character To The DC Universe, Jesus of Nazareth, shows up.

What's your favorite bit of Captain Marvel lore?

Ooh that's a tough question!

I think my current favorite bit of lore is that when Billy saved Freddy's life by sharing his powers with him, he unknowingly caused Freddy's brother Kit to die. But because he wasn't supposed to die he was granted ghost powers and became Kid Eternity!

An extra bit of lore that I always find funny is that the Sivanas lived on Venus for a time and Beautia was even the Empress of Venus!

Absolutely wild that captain marvel (dc) is mere months younger than THE BATMAN.

Notably, he's also one of the first heroes to have an villain team featuring RECURRING VILLANS as opposed to the previous 'villain of the week' style.

Batman is one of the WORLD LEADING fictional heroes, he's one of the first too. This man has been roaming the streets of Gotham since BEFORE WORLD WAR 2. To hear that shazam was created and debuted mere months later is insane.

I don’t think we as a society talk about the angst in the idea that Billy Batson, with all the magical importance and world building DC added to him and Shazam, shouldn’t be allowed to die because if he does he’s that magic linchpin that kickstarts a million different apocalypses and leaves the worst power vacuum in magical history

Carol Danvers fans are throwing a fit over a comic strip calling Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel as if she didn’t have the title before her. the funny thing about having read the spider punk comics is going through the atsv tag noticing people saying things about hobie and then being like "it's canon from the comics!!" to justify things they literally just made up. girl i did the reading and i don't know how to tell you this but nothing you just said is true... you fell for the edited panels from twitter didn't you.

My two OCs joining What if… Zombies?

Luke Rogers - Steve Rogers’ adopted son, Luke was on Wanda Maximoff’s horrible vision, being in the center of chaos and destruction but when Steve and Wanda went to deal with him, they come in and realize he was just a baby. Steve and his string moral compass couldnt do it, Wanda who only thought about her twins, not much older than Luke, couldnt either. But according to Wanda’s vision, if they dont kill the son of Hydra right then and there, they wouldnt have a chance to save millions of people from the despair he would bring.

“Know that he will grow from a boy to an Avenger, one fueled with rage as he’s consumed by age.”

Steve wasnt a present father, being an Avenger and having that awful thought of Luke fulfilling his faith despite him never telling Luke about his past. Luke’s found comfort with Bucky Barnes until Luke dies at 14, on a mission. Steve carries this guilt with him until ten years later, They hear about a street vigilante calling themself “The Winter Soldier”. Bucky has this wrenching gut feeling that it was Luke since they never found the body and when he saw the footage and pictures of this masked vigilante, he just felt it. Bucky goes out for a few nights, watching, looking. Until he caught up to Luke. He tries to convince Luke to come home, but he was too scared, too angry.

Until one day after months of sneaking in the compound to visit Bucky, ask for food. He gets caught. (Old art haha, not my best work)

They pretty much forcibly take him back at this point after Tony and Steve have been arguing about what to do with the masked vigilante. Tony wants to capture him immediately, Steve did nit want to do that. It creates a divide in the Avengers for months cause the other half was worried of what he’ll do if he doesnt get dealt with, The other half worried that it will make situations worse if the LITERAL AVENGERS ambushed someone who wasnt *technically* doing anything wrong. (Other than the insanely brutal ways of killing street criminals)

At some point they do get him back, he fights alongside them for a while. Lol Luke and his parents.

But he cant be just an Avenger forever, he meets Daydream, Omega level mutant with the powers to keep enemies trapped in a daze/dream like illusion for the rest of their lives if she wishes, incapacitating them forever and not allowing them to live real lives outside of the illusion she traps them in. She becomes really dangerous when her illusions turn from daydreams to nightmares. The individual targeted would now be “living” a tortured lifetime while their physical bodies are kept somewhere or killed. Daydream and Luke become a couple at some point. (Aka my gf in real life) and some friends! (My best friends’ ocs.)

Johnny, a failed super soldier experiment, ex cop captured by HYDRA, unable to have emotions now cause of the failed experiment. Despite the inability to show emotions, he is like a caring father to them.

Damian, a goth spiderman from a universe of literal bats and spiders, possessed by the venom. Luke’s bestfriend in the group.

E136: The Marvels

The Marvels

First off, and this may be controversial but...non American Batsons? I'm split between Canada or England.

Billy Batson and Mary Bromfield are twins, like Pre-Flashpoint, anointed as co-champions by the Wizard Shazam (Not Mamaragan, he's his own character).

Also, Handaqi heritage for both of them.

The power is halved when they're both transformed, but they can DBZ style combine into Captain Thunder, who's more powerful than either one at full power.

They're both called Captain Marvel, both they're nicknamed Lord and Lady Marvel when operating as one.

Freddy Freeman is blonde, but his transformed state (once he's loaned out the power of course) looks just like Elvis. This further divides the Shazam power into thirds, and further increases Captain Thunder's power.

There is a greater age gap between these three and Pedro, Eugene, and Darla.

This might be a controversial opinion, but I like Billy's Darkseid War re-power, so at some point he ends up with that powerset (S'ivaa, H'ronmeer, Anapel, Zonuz, Ate & Mamaragan) while Mary gets another goddess focused powerset from the Amazons, and the original SHAZAM powerset is distributed between Uncle Dudley and the remaining Vasquez household children.

Your grip on Wonder Woman’s bracelet is tight enough that it’s hurting you. The odds of your small form bruising her are negligible but if she touches you again you’ll make the effort.

She said something when she came over and someone’s saying something now. There’s blood rushing in your ears and no Hercules or Solomon here to help you cool your jets.

You know exactly why your fight or flight’s kicking in. It’s all fine and dandy when the big form gets pat on the back or elbowed or held back by the wrist. Achilles has got your back and there’s nothing your teammates can throw at the big form that Atlas can’t shoulder.

(You’d say they’d never hurt you like that but you’re literally plan b for dealing with a compromised Superman. Come on now. You’re getting defensive not being completely irrational.)

But none of these people have ever touched your small form before, have never even laid eyes on it before today. You know she couldn’t have known that this would scrape against old wounds. You’re also not feeling particularly generous at the moment.

Because the last person who grabbed you without your permission got bit.

(One of your earliest memories. It was from just After.)

What major thing would you change about one of your fics if you were to rewrite it

Ooh this is a fun question!

In general I'm pretty happy with how my stories have played out and I don't think there's too much I'd change.

The main thing I would want to change is including more lore and minor characters from Fawcett in my older works, particularly in From the Shadows. I was still learning about Captain Marvel back then and was much more familiar with Batman and the Batfamily in general than I was Cap so I leaned pretty heavily onto the Gotham side of things and let Fawcett City and the characters there fall to the wayside. If I were to rewrite it now I would probably emphasize Billy’s connection to his hometown and the people in it much more, and probably even set much more of the fic in Fawcett instead of Gotham.
