Things that I want in a curse for true love to happen is : I want jacks to all the time to be jealous and worried about apollo being physical with evangeline or not. His jealousy is so romantic when any man tries to get near eva. The last time in TBONA when apollo asked him to get off his hands from eva he instead tightened his arms around her. This will be so much fun to see what he'll do to make apollo stay the hell away from eva. I think he is going to spy on apollo and eva all the time so apollo doesn't get to touch her.

To think, Stephanie Garber didn't even care about connecting shit with the things she set up in her Caraval trilogy (very resentful about it tbh), especially related to Fates, but considered it important enough for the readers to know that Jacks was not obsessed with Evangeline,

It wasn’t an obsession. One visit wasn’t an obsession.

especially considering this whole paragraph

“When we’re attracted to humans, we only feel obsession, fixation, lust, possession. But on very rare occasions, we come across humans who tempt us to love. But it always ends badly. Love is poison to us. Love and immortality cannot coexist. If an immortal feels true love for even a minute, they become human for that minute. If the feeling lasts too long, their mortality becomes permanent. And most immortals would kill the object of their affection rather than become human. It’s not safe to tempt an immortal to love. And if Jacks doesn’t kill you because he’s tempted to love you, then I promise his obsession with you will destroy you.”

implying he really was in love with her (which should've made him mortal, but is not once addressed) but also proving he's in love, not obsessed, by showing it in things like how, throughout the ouabh trilogy, he asked her to stay away from him or not get too close, but never once wanted to kill her (even under the vampire phase, even when he did love her), and in fact saved her every chance he got, every time she was in danger. Hell! He brought her back from the dead, when it really would've been convenient to let her die if he had indeed loved his immortality more, but he didn't care about it half as much as he cared about Evangeline being fine, unhurt, and alive.

It also shows in how he'd rather burn his own heart than have it love her and pose her any kind of danger (since at that point, it wasn't just about a deadly kiss, but his love that he thought would doom her, which again, was stupid but okay)

Anyway, whether you get answers to your questions or not, whether shit connects between books or not, at least there's one thing everyone can be sure about: *screaming* JACKS LOVES EVANGELINE!!!

Caraval Trilogy: Honest Review

Let's start this off by the fact that I never read book summaries so I had no idea what to expect. At this point I don't even know what I had expected at first but I can say with absolute certainty that I adored all three books.

Whatever uncertainty existed completely disappeared when I began reading the main body of Caraval. That same uncertainty returned when I finished it because usually the second book of a multiple book series is boring (I've got many examples to give here). But Stephanie proved me wrong because I can say that I enjoyed Legendary more than Caraval and way more than Finale.

Both Scarlet and Tella were amazing female characters and I didn't expect them to be well written especially when love turned out to be such a huge theme in this book. But again I was proved wrong.

I am not ashamed to admit that I hated Jullian in both the first and the third book but he now holds a special place in my heart. Legend is Legend.

I adore Jacks. Absolutely adore him and I can't wait to buy his trilogy even though I've heard mixed reviews.

The plot was nice. Definitely liked the first Caraval better than the second one. Do I wish there was a Caraval held in Finale? No. But I do wish the Caraval in Legendery was just a tiny bit more similar to the Caraval in Caraval hint-wise.

Other than that, I enjoyed the world Stephanie created. I can't speak for the writing because I read it in my native language which isn't English but it seemed okay.

This review sucked hahaha, but I am excited for the new book that is going to come out.

Rating: 7/10

Why Jacks heart beat in legendary? Tella isn't his one true love!

Here is a little theory I have come up with why jacks heart actually started beating in the caraval series.

We actually know jacks heart didn't started beating right after the kiss. Donatella didn't die right away after the kiss because jacks had slowed her heart. So she gets to be alive but with a slow heart so that her lifespan increases , she'll eventually die but not immediately with the slow heart she'll die slowly.

Donatella was having dying symptoms she was continuously bleeding on different occasions as a result of that kiss. Untill the undead queen haunted her and she confessed to legend about the true story of the kiss. Legend fed her his blood to save her and next morning tella had faster heartbeats which means jacks curse stopped working on her after that. It was legend's blood which saved her as we can actually see in OUABH how jacks blood does trick on apollo.

Now that tella hadn't dead of jacks kiss because of legend's blood; so the curse on jacks is also broken as someone he kissed hadn't dead. And the curse on him was broken. Jacks heart didn't beat because he believed tella was his true love but because of the design of the curse ( if she doesn't die from your kiss your heart will start beating again ) and tella didn't die so his curse broke right the moment legend's saved tella from his deadly kiss.

After the curse was broken jacks kiss was no more deadly to anyone I guess. In OUABH and TBONA jacks didn't kiss anyone so it's clear that if he had kissed someone he will know his kiss isn't deadly anymore. So tella is definitely not his one true love.

I haven't finished Finale but I've already hated Tella since Caraval but I thought she'd grow on me in Legendary but nope. Out of all the things that make me dislike her, this one is the biggest. Scarlett loves Donatella most but Donatella most loves a woman who was never even there.
