Thinking about Mariner's trauma reveal, and how Carol and Alonzo had to watch their bright, high achieving (at least according to Ramsey) daughter come back from the Dominion War broken and angry. How they had to just sit by as her trauma responses got her demoted over and over again. How they did everything they could to keep Mariner in Starfleet because they still remember that bright, high achieving girl and and how much potential she had, and they know that part of their daughter must still be in there somewhere even if it's hard to see.
And sometimes Carol can't cope and starts to think that Beckett really doesn't belong on her ship, and sometimes Alanzo can't deal either and cuts Carol's frustrated com calls short because it all just hurts too much. They haven't let go of who Beckett used to be, but she will never be that wide-eyed Starfleet cadet that they were so proud of ever again, and neither of them can do anything about it.

Guy who thinks that because of "Deep Space Nine," "Voyager," "Enterprise," and "Discovery" the name of the ship in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" is the USS The Next Generation.

I've said it many times and I will say it again:
Ferengi would be invaluable members of the Federation and Starfleet, because their business way of thinking can be useful also in diplomacy and strategy. Nog in Storyteller proved it by helping a young princess with preparing a treaty with another tribe, and in later seasons we have Sisko citing the Rules of Acquisiton.
Now, we have Admiral Vessary who assumes that everything will go smoothly, because these are Ferengi and Grand Nagus is stupid and childlish, what can possibly go wrong? But Freeman didn't sleep through all the lessons (and cautionary tales) on Ferengi culture, and came prepared with fucking memorized Rules of Acquisition and saved the Admiral's ass.
Bottom line - this was probably the best Ferengi Episode since Deep Space Nine ended.
