4. What pet do you want next?
Whatever my future partners have, I’ll be fine with! The beagle that I lived with recently died, and my mom is considering another dog. My dad, my brothers, and I all think that they shouldn’t have pets anymore. If all 3 of my current trio suddenly died I’d just adopt another pair of rabbits that are already bonded!
8. What introduced you into pet keeping?
I was surrounded with all manner of animals as a kid: chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, a dog. My brothers never really took to guinea pigs the same way I did. I had guinea pigs all through high school! I was even thinking of getting one in Korea, but the Universe decided I needed rabbits instead :D
14. Do you want a career involving animals? If so, what?
I’d love to be a veterinary receptionist! I wanna meet all the animals possible every day and send out cards for birthdays & deaths. Or I could educate people on the proper handling of rabbits. I usually don’t let others hold my buns because literally no one knows how to do it!

Hello! I was wondering if you know which rabbits would make good beginner pets! I was looking at the Rex and French Angora rabbit since my friend has one of each, but would like a second opinion! Also, if you could tell me a bit more on basic care and setting up their homes that would be helpful! My friend told me they make good therapy animals as well!
Hey! I’m glad you’re interested in rabbits but I hesitate to recommend any animal as a beginner pet. Rabbits can be wonderful house pets but they can also be messy, hormonal, fragile, inconvenient and expensive. They will be destructive to baseboards and wiring if given the opportunity.
For a house rabbit you’ll want to have some kind of large enclosure and a litter box, they like to eat while they poop so a hay feeder above the litter box is ideal. I feed pellets, hay and some kind of green or fruit several times a week to mine.
They can be good therapy animals but that is going to be highly, highly specific to each individual rabbit. If you’re looking for something like that look for breeders that specifically breed for temperament. Himalayans & Flemish Giants are consistently some of the friendliest rabbits I interact with. You might also look into Guinea Pigs, they don’t require quite as much room, are more social with one another and are good little comfort potatoes.
@carolinarabbits and @pangur-and-grim both have house rabbits and could probably answer your more pet directed questions.

Loki murdered yet another shop vac. So I think it's finally time to buy a cordless one. He only feels vindication for his crimes.

Maggie's new favorite spot is the bottom of the bookshelf. I can't put things there anymore unless I want stuff all over the floor.
