Been wanting to do this for a while, put all my book children together for a picture. Since the newest book comes out tomorrow, I finally got around to doing it! Some WIPs not pictured (mainly 3 outside of my current series project that have a lot of words in them but are all on pause haha 💀 but my goal is to finish at least one of those this year as well)

To that anon that asked me a while ago if I thought it was worth it to chase this as a career or just focus on a love of writing, my answer is the same. Keep at it if being a published author is what you want. This year I’m making a full time income. Every day, every book, it gets better and I love it!

#23 - feelings on epistolary fic?Pretty neutral, I guess? Hmm, I’ve never written full epistolary fic before. I don’t really actively seek it out, but have thoroughly enjoyed a bunch that I’ve read! #25 - if you outline, do you edit it frequently?I do edit my outline a lot! I’m a forgetful person if I don’t keep my notes handy, so if I’m letting my fic evolve as I’m writing it I’ll go into my outline and notes and tweak it or add notes for the new things, take out stuff if I’ve decided not to use it, etc. The one I’ve edited the most was my monster of a fic, Changing Tides, because of the timeline spanning across several years (1995-2003) and the different parts of the plot or character development that changed all the way up until I finished the last scene. I was moving scenes around, combining them, cutting them, adding new scenes throughout the entire writing process. I have a feeling my outline for my HDBB fic is also going to evolve a lot throughout the process, and I haven’t even finished writing the outline yet haha!fic writer ask meme, come ask me things about stuff

Draco's in a bit of a rut. He's nearing forty, divorced, and he still can't figure out how to make his Time Turner reconstruction work. He's bored, he can admit it, so he's not nearly as concerned as he should be when his pet project malfunctions and sends him twenty years into the past. That is, until he ends up relying on a nineteen-year-old Harry Potter for help and starts developing some very inconvenient—and possibly reciprocated—feelings.

I just wanted to thank you because i didn't expect to feel so seen 😭 or find someone who felt the same way. I didn't get to speak much about it, but YES i also do feel very strongly about emotional imbalance. It's so important to me. Thank you so much for that kind and understanding answer.

This has encouraged me to really look at some of your personal recs knowing they're from someone with similar sentiments. I'm not saying this to put pressure on your personal recs! Hi again, anon! I’m so happy you felt seen and validated 🫂 I noticed some comments on that post sharing the sentiment so we’re not as few as you might have thought! I’m very excited to hear your thoughts on those lists but I’d maybe start with the ones below and see if they work for you. Most explore Draco’s redemption arc in ways I personally found satisfying and without belittling any character. I avoided fics that deal with hardcore emotional imbalance (I love the secret identity trope but I didn’t want to take any chances) and tried to include some recent, lesser known fics in case you’ve already read the popular ones. Also - I’m biased af when it comes to my pal @tackytigerfic but imo you should definitely start with Modern Love then make your way through their superb catalogue!
