Here is a follow up to my previous book!Carrie designs. I tried to stick closely with the book descriptions, especially for Margaret, but some of the characters were left to my imagination. I was heavily influenced by the 2002 adaptation of Sue, as she's by far my favourite interpretation of that character.

Made A Sketch of Carrie! Novel, 1976 and 2002💕

For the Novel Design, I kinda base it out of the Novel's Description with her Iconic Red Princess waist and Juliet Sleeves Gown! Gave her an Messy Updo! (I was inspired by @dommnics and @rotten-home Arts!!)

Standing Next to Her is Sissy Spacek's Version Of Carrie! And Angela Bettis's Version of Carrie.

Carrie(2002) should be the tallest but oh well😅 Still Learning about Anatomy and More! (ESPECIALLY HANDS..)

An Angel's Wrath: A POTO/Carrie AU (Erik as Carrie White)

Jesus watches from the wall

Why do I feel so all alone?

Erik has never been a normal child. From a very young age, he remembered being forced to tolerate every kind of cruelty, since the bullying from his classmates, who always made fun of him because of his upbringing, appearence and strange behavior, and the abuse from his mother Madalaine, a fanatical religious woman who always believed her son to be a sinful creature cursed by the Devil because of his horrible birth deformity. As a punishment, she sentenced him to wear a mask to cover his scars, reminding him everyday his soul was bounded to Hell for simply being born. However, some days before the long awaited school prom, a mysterious power hold within Erik's soul started to come to surface, a peculiar and fathal gift which would allow him to settle acconts with all the ones who ever humiliated him, leading the whole city to a night they would never forget.

DO YOU HAVE A TASTE FOR TERROR?

April 5 marks the 50th anniversary of Carrie (the novel), and because it's my altime fav, my pookie, my blorbo at the beginning of my horror obsession, I want to watch one with you!

Mark that calendar for a special edition of The Basement, where the victor of the poll will be screened!

All have their highs and lows. Propaganda for each can be found under the readmore, but in case you've already made up your mind:

Carrie (1976)

The first and to some the most iconic. Brian de Palma did something with this one that scared even Stephen King himself in the theatre! Sissy Spacek has a great time in the role, and the supporting cast is pretty great, too (this was John Travolta’s first big role)!

PROS

The closest to a time-period-accurate adaptation that we can get, as the events of the book take place in 1979

Might feel dated on some fronts

Not the most tense until it gets to the Moment

TV Movie from the 2000s! Angela Bettis does this one really well, and despite the modernized setting, it holds up. Overall this sticks the closest to the book format/plot.

Book accuracy

Carrie is more be gay do crime

A WHOPPING 2 hours and 10 minutes long

KATHARINE ISABELLE IS IN THIS ONE

CONS

Tries to do VFX but is not the best at it

Ending that is drastically different and may not appeal to some

Carrie (2013)

Probably the one that most are familiar with or saw come by in tv trailers. In the middle of the grand age of tumblr, this one graced the silver screen. I hate to say it, but I’ll forever mourn an early draft of the screenplay that was written by the Riverdale guy

PROS

More horror moments (julianne moore carries (haha) the role of Margaret)

Gay undertones

Great VFX

CONS

Takes A Lot of lines and scenes directly from the 76 film

Started the discourse of actresses being too pretty for the role (which could also have been misogyny. Chloe moretz is cute in this one)

Has some needle drops that are artefacts of their time
