A Villain cursed from birth to be unloved,
Was giv'n a chance to free himself of sin.
But too late did he think to know its worth,
and buried feelings further deep within.
Two souls who cast away their bonded rites
at last the strings of fate re-intertwine.
A wretched necromancer and his knight,
shall find themselves in darkness undivine.
Alchemist-Necromancer Albert Wesker for my Pathfinder campaign (poem by me)

OH BOY, I’ve been waiting for this post. This was a doodle that got out of hand.
So remember when I said a few posts ago that I had played this path years ago and I should probably remember SOME of the things in this place? I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.
Me as player literally forgot there was a haunted straight jacket that would grapple you. And I had Corbin go up and grab the stupid thing. Needless to say it was downright hilarious.
OUTCOMES OF THE ENCOUNTER:
1.) The party had to figure out how to get this thing OFF of Corbin, as he was the only one with a decent strength score. So Mikael decided it was a good idea to just SHOVE A SWORD CANE DOWN CORBIN’S BACK???? (he is displeased as he’s got some tattoos there he really really doesn’t want anyone to see right now???)
2.) Achilles decided to “help” by bashing the straightjacket with a mace. I’m calling you out @zetrystan. I’m starting to get the idea that Achilles miiiiiiiight like to harass Corbin >.>
3.) Corbin ended up cutting himself out of the straightjacket, but in doing so had to reveal a secret - that he’s actually a shadowblade user. Oh sorry, I mean a “gloomblade”. (even he hates the term). He can create weapons out of darkness, and this of course completely derailed the entire party’s thoughts onto him and that was the last thing he wanted. An interrogation was to come later via Mikael.
4.) In his embarrassment and frustration (and my dumbness as a player, and once again I forgot a thing), Corbin then went to take on the big ol haunted furnace, promptly almost dying from being nearly incinerated.
Good job, buddy. You had a real day there. :pat pat:

the naming of things
my pathfinder character is a witch; she uses a deck of tarot (harrow) cards as her familiar. she’s spent most of making herself fit into a very small place in a very small village, denying that part of herself. until now, she never thought to ask her familiar its name.

I went to make a spreadsheet of character rosters of every tabletop campaign I’ve been in (criteria: more than one session) because I was starting to forget character names, and there have been 16 I’ve been in or run in the past five years.
I play a lot of tabletop.

The GOAT character I’ve ever played. Illuvia Wight and Oculus, Summoner and Eidolon way back in Pathfinder Carrion Crown.

What is more chaotic than one teleporting capitalist wizard...?
When he decides to make a copy construct of himself as a bodyguard.✌️
So Achilles decided to construct another Achilles (Warchilles!), who is a warrior version of himself... and revealed his creation to the group yesterday in our Carrion Crown Pathfinder campaign.
They were all absolutely thrilled (they were not).

Starting off the blog with a group picture, as is per tradition.
The path this time around is Carrion Crown, in Pathfinder universe (yeah yeah, I kiiiiinda did this one before but I only got up to book three.) These other three victi--I mean, contestants are our new adventurers. You can find artwork with them specifically based on the tags to their names on the left of the blog. Other categories are obviously listed as well.
This is gonna be a real... interesting adventure.
(For those curious, the symbols behind each character on the symbols found on the Harrow Cards, kind of the Pathfinder Tarot cards used in the Carrion Crown adventure)
Corbin Kingsley - Fighter, Human
Achilles Magnus - Arcanist, Dwarven
Mikael Koskinen - Investigator, Half-Elven
Gilver Gallowglass - Oracle, Elven

Fictober 2019 - Day 21
From The Fictober 2019 event <3
Prompt 21 : “Change is annoyingly difficult.”
Prompt 16 : “Listen. No, really listen.”
Fandom : Pathfinder- Carrion Crown (I guess)
Words : 908
Warnings : character has a negative self-image, Sparrow belongs to @vaffaznculocolmpadrter
Day 21 and 16 - “Change is annoyingly difficult” and “Listen. No, really listen.”
The wind in Ustalav was rapidly turning icy. It blew up south from the sea and over the reaches of the Hungry Mountains. Birds appeared less and less often, though there were hardly many about to begin with. All the trees turned their colors and then just as quickly shed their leaves, as though in a hurry to be off. And as the leaves shed, their adventuring party added layers. Cylerra would hardly ever be seen without being bundled up in woolen garments now. Even Thana, undead as she was, switched out her scant number for a heavier coat. Trey, himself, was tightly wrapped in a blanket as he sat on a log by the only member of their party that seemed totally unaffected by the cold.
Sparrow, still with nothing but her worn clothes and a single wolf pelt draped about her bare shoulders, dug into her mane of red hair and scratched at her ear with long raking fingernails as she regarded him and how best to go on teaching Trey her magic. They had been at this for the better part of two hours and he was frustrated.
In the past, whenever he had seen his sister cast, it hadn’t looked nearly so difficult. Kasha could sling spells with ease. She whirled and struck out her fingers like her magic was some sort of song and only she knew the dance. Even Cylerra and Sparrow conjured magic out of thin air as easy as breathing. They turned their power into fierce weapons. They toppled opponents. All Trey had been trying to do was make a rock glow. Mere coppers in comparison. Two hours in and he still just had a stubborn rock.
“Look,” she finally sighed, examining her talons, “I know that change is, like, annoyingly difficult or whatever, but you hafta remember that you asked for this. You wanted to learn magic and now ya gotta pay the price.”
Trey sighed and picked up the stone, stared at it intently a few more seconds before slumping over and dropping it back to the ground. “Yeah, I know. I want to do something that isn’t just swinging my sword and hoping I hit something—”
“Why? ‘Cause Thana does it better?”
Ignoring her, Trey continued, “I want to be a contributing member of our group. None of you are… I-I just want to make sure you’re all safe. I’m pretty good with a shield, but there has to be more. If my twin sister could do magic that must mean that I have an affinity for it too… somewhere.”
Sparrow regarded him, chewing on her lip. She perked up suddenly and beamed. “Reaching your magic is pretty easy once you know what you’re looking for,” she said, patting his leg. She touched a stone next to his and it lit up like a lantern. A very mocking lantern. “You just gotta listen. I know you’re not great at that, but ya gotta.”
Trey refrained from asking her ‘But HOW?’ again and closed his eyes. He took a deep, steadying breath and tried to look inside, tried to feel… gods, he didn’t even know what he was looking for. Inner strength? A little voice? Was there a… a magic organ or something?
This was pointless.
A few more tense minutes of his rock staying unlit and Trey snorted.
“Maybe there’s no fucking magic in me,” he growled, kicking the stone away.
Sparrow rolled her eyes and threw her hands up. “Everyone’s got magic in ‘em! You just gotta listen and you’re not!”
Trey stood abruptly and balled his fists in the blanket. Kasha took all the magic. Kasha was always the more gifted one. The better valued. Trey was useless. He was nothing. Good for nothing but brute force, and even in that he was overshadowed. What was the use in always being the second best? How could he possibly hope to bring anything of value to his relationship with Sparrow? To raising their child? He was nothing but a dumb and useless elf. And would continue to be so.
“C’mon, don’t be like that!” Sparrow said. “Just listen—”
“No, really listen. If you’re yellin’ at me, you’re not listening.” She reached out and grabbed Trey’s arm with a large, warm hand.
“Sparrow, just let me GO!” Trey twisted away from her, a hot flash churning in the pit of his stomach like a wave of revulsion and he stepped further away from her—
Barely catching himself, Trey glanced down to his feet with a frown. He didn’t remember there being any roots nearby when they had started, but there, wrapped around a boot was a large one. It should have been impossible to miss…
He looked back ant Sparrow. Her expression and her situation did not match. She was grinning from ear to ear. Her wrists and ankles were bound to the ground with long roots as thick as his forearm that held her in place and away from him. Each root burst from a little mound of dirt, as though they had just sprung from the earth…at his command.
“Ya did it! Didn’t think you’d do this, but ya did it!”
Trey opened his mouth to speak when new cries came up from their camp.
Sparrow laughed. “Oh boy, you’d better learn how to undo it quick. Before Thana drops her sword on ya.”

Kendra is a recurrent npc in our #pathfinder campaign. Young Daughter of the late Petros Lorrimor, she follows the group since they meet up and perpetually rejects the offers from a knight named Arnold le Bien Bâti, for now...

Small change of pace. Pathfinder has me thinking of attacks so I made a sheet thing. I play a Duskwalker Samurai (Ronin/ Kensei) so her attack names would probably be really edgy.

Our party has two pets, one a Teacup Pomeranian named Juniper, who may or may not be a vampire, but he’s cute so who cares.
And Fester, a “Pack Mimic” or “Mimic of Holding” for better comparison. A homebrew creation of my design, that we’re actually using the game to gueina pig balance and function for.
Done in traditional pen and ink, then colored in photoshop elements 2018
