#GOOD LOKING+!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your plan was quick and simple. You would go to the kitchen, make some tea to ease your headache, and then return to your comfy bed. You weren't expecting to come across your crew's blonde cook barechested cutting carrots.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader
Word count: 3k
Warnings: 18+ content, smut, swearing, pet names, big dick sanji, kitchen sex, blow job, oral sex (m and f receiving), fingering, sanji moaning, p in v type of sex.
Ao3: Good Looking
English is not my first language, sorry for any mistakes :) Enjoy!
Tumblr media
You are used to this. The utterly exhausted sensation after several hand-to-hand combats, so when the headache started when you finally lay down in bed, you just decided to ignore it; the sleep would catch up before it got.
Until the needed sleep never got you. So, after an hour or two of rubbing your temples and staring at the ceiling while feeling envy-induced annoyance for Nami’s peaceful breathing, you pushed yourself to stand up.
Even if the cool night air almost makes you wish you hadn't left your warm bed, you needed that green tea to stop the pounding headache in the back of your head. The kitchen lights shining through the window went undetected as your mind was busy figuring out how you could prepare the drink quickly so that the pain could cease as soon as possible.
“Oh, it’s you, darling. Is everything alright?” As you walked into the door and recognized Sanji's words, you snapped out of your thoughts and began to look over your surroundings. He was not wearing any type of shirt while he sliced carrots from behind the counter.
Barechested. Topless. Half naked.
“Y-yes, I mean, no. Just a headache.” You gaze the blonde in the eyes as you stumble through your sentences, you are merely vaguely aware that your face is beginning to turn red. “I just want that green tea; I know it's somewhere around here. I saw Nami storing it in the cabinets earlier.”
You felt foolish. You became used to seeing shirtless men given that you lived in the middle of the ocean and therefore often came across Luffy, Usopp, and even Zoro barechested. They would often walk around the deck that way on hot days. Sanji, however, always showed up in a suit or, at the very least, had a formal shirt rolled up to his elbows. Even so, there was no chance of seeing him dressed otherwise since he went to sleep after you and woke up before everyone.
“I can do it for you; it’s my job after all, taking care of my sweet girl.” He placed the knife down, threw the chopped carrots in a nearby pot, and proceeded to go through the cupboards. “Love, do you remember where she stored it? There are plenty of cabinets in this place.”
"What are you doing here?" You instantly regret your tone as you noted Sanji just froze in his search.
“I mean, sorry, the kitchen is your place, I know. I just never saw you here this hour, and me and Luffy go here to do midnight snacks sometimes”
“I could not sleep”
“Me too” Once again, an irrational remark. He was informed that you were having trouble falling asleep; that's why you were there. “Why the carrots?”
“The attack that happened today. I had hoped for more food, but I believe you are aware of how fucked our situation is.” He continued looking for the tea while chuckling flatly. “We don't know when we will receive more supplies; we right now have barely anything stocked. Even the carrot peels have been put to use in an effort to reduce waste, you know.”
You weren't sure how to respond. It was clear that everyone's mood was negatively affected by today's incident. The worry of what would happen in the next few days or weeks was filling your head since Usopp managed to escape the ship. His back was to you, so you were unable to see his facial expressions, but you couldn't help but notice his muscles.
You felt a little guilty since you couldn't take your focus away from it, despite him having just voiced some serious concern. Has he lately started working out, or has he always had muscles like that?
“Are you and Luffy close then?”
The sudden break in silence confused you as he turned toward you with the pot of tea in his hands and a pleased smile.
“I suppose so. After all, he was the one who invited me to join the crew, right?” You smirked at the thought. It wasn't much time—perhaps a few months—and you were losing track of time at sea. “I fearlessly agreed to become a pirate, although I had never spent more than two weeks on a boat.”
“I remember that. You were so naive”
Of course he remembers. When you joined the crew, it was very easy to have a conversation with Sanji; he was constantly complimenting you or flirting in a straightforward manner. You never took him seriously, hearing about the blonde's techniques from Nami from the first day, but it was often hard not to chuckle or blush when he was so…
“Not anymore.”
He grinned at you before returning his attention to the tea. It was impossible to look away from his bare chest. You were unable to rest your mind from imagining how his skin would feel on your hand now that he was in your line of sight. You are already aware that he's a good-looking man, but now seeing more of his body did things to you.
“All right, madam. Here is your tea.” He circles the counters until he's right next to you. Really close. His eyes twinkle with recklessness, and you know he caught you staring at his figure.
You ignore the tickle in your lower belly as you stand there, grab the mug in your hands, and sip while gazing at his face. He still has that typical smirk, and when you finally finish drinking your tea, he glances at your lips before returning to your eyes. Everything becomes fuzzy and hot then.
He's very close. His hand has been lying on the counter, his chest is nearly brushing your own, and you can't help but notice his modest, almost transparent blonde hair in there. Perhaps it's a sign for you to walk away, that this is going in a dangerous direction, but you can't.
“What dear? See something you lik-”
You interrupt him with a kiss; it's all very messy and quick, and he is unable to have time to handle everything. You come to an abrupt halt and stare at him with wide eyes, realizing what you have done.
“Sanji, fuck, I’m so sorry, I didn’t meant t-”
He didn't let you finish the apologies. His hand pulls your head back, bringing your lips together. The kiss looks right now. It begins carefully, with both sides cautious, but it quickly gets heated as he doesn't hesitate to push his tongue into your mouth.
You’re breathless when he finally pulls away, and his eyes are hungry. He didn't think twice before pressing his open mouth and tongue on your neck. A moan escapes from your lips.
His left hand shifts down to grab your hip, and you catch your breath. Your hands graze his nipples as you reach for his pecs, and he hisses at the fresh sensation in your throat.
“Gods Y/N, you’re going to kill me this way”
You chuckled, and he kissed you again, although this time you took charge, moving one of your hands to his blonde hair before tilting his head to grant you more access. You stop the action just to take a moment to recover and gaze into his dilated pupils. He looks so attractive like that that you can’t help but want to go down on him.
”Sanji,” You whisper breathlessly, enjoying the sensation of his name in your mouth, “let me taste you.”
He groans in response, which you take as encouragement as you lean down and proceed. You lick and kiss the trail that leads to his crotch, and he hisses softly, his abdomen tense beneath your hands and mouth. As you get down on your knees and look at his pants, you can see his erection, which seems big and marked.
You don't hesitate to pull down the waistband of his pants and boxers together, exposing his hard, leaking cock to your eyes. It's big. It's more than you expected. There's a buildup of cum at the head, and you reach forward and wrap your lips around it, licking gently just to tease.
You look up as you swirl your tongue over the tip and dip your tongue into the slit to see him biting his lower lips, his head thrown back. You wanted to see his face while sucking him. So you take him out of your mouth and cautiously wrap a hand around him, teasing him a little with your hand. Your movements are agonizingly slow as you lightly suck and lick the sensitive head until finally he looks down.
“Oh, darling, you’re so pretty like that.” Sanji whined above you, and then your mouth opened around the head of his cock, and he slid it into your mouth. “Fuck, fuck. So… so perfect.”
You can clearly see the blonde struggling to keep his composure, like how his knuckles are white while gripping the counter behind him. You relax your throat, take a long breath through your nose, and exhale slowly before swallowing him whole while gripping his inner thighs.
His penis is large, so the initial sensation isn't the most pleasant, but as he lets out a loud groan, you forget about everything. Something about hearing Sanji whine in the kitchen while you gagged on his cock made the aching between your legs unbearable.
"Oh yeah, Y/N. You are so good to me. Your mouth feels so good in me.”
You moaned softly at his words of praise, making vibrations around his penis, causing another moan from him. His left hand reached from the counter to your hair, and you didn't reject the help while bobbing your head up and down.
“My love, you are so perfec-“
A few tears occasionally escaped as you sucked him and he fucked your throat, sometimes only taking him out to run your tongue along his length. You started to see signs that he was close to cum. One of your hands left the thighs to rub his balls.
“I… I'm going to cum, Y/N, dear... I" He gives you a chance to pull away from him, but you choose to continue and accept it all. You remove the entire length of his throat and leave just the head in your mouth.
He comes soon after, with a muffled groan, while you attempt to swallow as much as you can before it gets difficult, followed by a satisfied moan coming from you.
You felt his hand leave your hair, and for two or three minutes, you just remained there. He has his head back and is trying to catch his breath while you are on your knees, glancing at his chest and the beads of sweat gathering on his neck. It’s a perfect vision, honestly. You ponder whether he would notice if you began to masturbate right then.
“Come on, madam, let me help you up.” Sanji extends his hand to support you in getting up, and once you are upright, he grabs hold of your waist to keep you close to him.
He kisses you, tasting himself in your mouth. It's slow, and you realize he's still trying to emerge from his afterglow. When he breaks the kiss, that smile returns to his face, and you peck him once more just to get rid of it.
Sanji deepened the kiss again. And fuck, what else could you do but reply in the same aggressive way?
You're hoisted up by the hands on your hips and thrown onto the counter. The blonde is now between your legs, breaking the kiss, only to go straight to that specific spot on your neck that you're almost certain will leave a mark in the morning.
“Oh- Sanji,” You try to speak breathlessly as he licks your collarbone and his fingers brush the hem of your t-shirt, “You don’t h-have to do that.”
It wasn't that you didn't want Sanji. Since you entered that kitchen and spotted him without a shirt, you wanted this. Yet, you took the decision to give him an opportunity to back out, be thankful for the blowjob, and never bring up the matter again. Him taking you would be very personal.
“Please, my love,” You can hear the yearning in his voice as he whispers in your ear. “I just want to make you feel good too.”
You nod, and he attacks your mouth once again while his hands pull the hem of your t-shirt, exposing your chest, and you can't stop yourself from moaning at being so bare to him.
He doesn't think twice about placing his mouth on your breasts as he rolls the hard bud between his teeth and tongue and gives the other one a gentle stroke with his other hand. He bites your nipple as your head is flung back, and all you can do is pray that no one hears your loud scream.
He takes his mouth from your breasts and begins a trail down your stomach, and you can't stop whining due to the lack of warm sensation from his tongue in your niples, but you quickly figure out where he's headed as he lowers himself between your thighs.
He doesn't ask for permission as he aggressively rips off your shorts and, along with them, your underwear, revealing your pussy to him. He pulled your hips closer and dragged a finger down your folds, then placed it inside his mouth.
"Oh, you're so soaking wet, just for me, hm?" You are so stunned by the sight that you hardly pay attention to what the blonde is saying. “You taste so good, my darling.”
You stand on your elbows and glance at the man who is standing in between your legs. You can't help but gasp at the taunting as he starts giving you small small bites and kisses along your inner thighs. But you want him now.
“Oh Sanji, stop teasing for fuc-“
He didn't wait for you to finish the curse word before burying his face, pushing his tongue against your wet pussy, and licking a long, temptingly slow strip through your folds until he reached your sensitive bud.
In an attempt to create more friction, you thrust your hips into his mouth, and your left hand immediately settled on his blonde hair. Sanji found the ideal pattern to swirl his tongue over your clitoral region, leaving you panting for air.
He pushed two fingers deep within you, and you felt your walls clenching around them, sucking him in. His pace was fast, and he was still paying careful attention to your clit, leaving you close to the edge. You were a mess, and it wouldn't take long for you to cum. Yet you still needed him; you wanted more.
You sucked in a sharp breath and tried to block out the inappropriate sounds echoing through the kitchen.
“Sanji, p-please more”
"Use your words, my angel." You could see the glistening fluids from your pussy plastered on his chin when he pushed his head off of your thighs. “What do you want?”
“Fuck me, oh g-gods. I need you inside me." At your words, he groaned and took both of his fingers out to direct his cock at your entrance.
It wasn't difficult for him to enter since you were so soaked. At the feeling of it, you both simultaneously moaned. You felt completely filled; he just stood there for a while, waiting for you to get used to the size, until you signaled for him to start moving. It began off slow, but soon he started out moving his hips at a faster pace to satisfy both of you.
"You're perfect,” he moaned in two thrusts, and you had to put your hand over your mouth. “Look at you, taking my cock so well, oh darling.”
The hands on your hips let go and grabbed you under your right thigh, opening your legs and hitting you more deeply and faster. You thought you were seeing stars when he hit an exact spot inside your pussy that made you shout.
“Cum for me, my love. I know you want”
It didn't take long for your orgasm to hit you after that, your eyes rolled back and you let out a whine sound as you felt your walls squeeze his dick. He moaned along with you at the feeling and a few more thrusts and he came inside you.
Sanji's head fell directly to your shoulder, and you instinctively placed your palm in his blond locks. While the fluid was slowly dripping out of you, he continued to remain deep inside and breathe loudly.
He raised his head only to smile recklessly while glancing into your mouth. “So, do you still have a headache?”
Your hand reached out to push him, but you were helpless to suppress the giggles that came. He drew away from inside you but was still between your knees as he chuckled proudly.
“Do you think anyone heard?”
“I'm not sure, maybe when you let out that screa-" You slapped him on the shoulder to cut him off while embarrassed because of the probability. “Ok, ok my darling, next time we’ll find a more private place.”
“Next time, huh?
Sanji stood still with an anxious smile on his face; it was almost hilarious how someone so confident in themselves would respond in that manner. You wrapped his neck with both of your arms and gave him a quick kiss to reassure him that everything was fine.
"You should come to the kitchen more often, preferably alone.”
"And you should go shirtless more often too.”
"Only for you, my love.”
You gave him another kiss before leaving the counter, getting ready to go, and returning to the bedroom. Even though the night seemed to be becoming lighter, you were aware that there were still a few hours until sunrise. It was evident that there would be plenty of issues to address when you awoke, but for the time being, you were content, even though you were a little exhausted from the activities. As sleep came, all you could think of was Sanji and his smile.

⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆
Never in your life had you been so angry at a plank of wood. It all began this morning when Bucky left a note on your nightstand.
“Good morning, my sweet angel. Daddy has a lot of very serious calls today. Please keep the noise down and don’t open or knock on the door if it’s shut. Use your special phone to call me if there’s an emergency. Do your chores for today and be a good baby for me. Love, Daddy.”
The door is where you are now. Sitting on the floor, glaring at the smooth oak that you can’t tap on and the shiny knob that you can’t shake. You finished your chores, played for a while, and ate both breakfast and lunch already. Bucky was still in his office and he hadn’t left all day.
Your daddy spoiled you in so many ways: with his gifts, with his love, with his words. The only thing he couldn’t give you enough of was his time. His job was a difficult one with long and sometimes unpredictable hours.
He was able to make some changes. He trusted Sam and Steve to handle his out of town meetings so he didn’t have to travel as much. He also promoted Natasha from head of security to essentially his right hand by helping him with his larger projects.
These changes were so important. They gave you so much more time with your daddy, but there were still days like today when he simply had to do the work himself. Bucky also worked from home as much as he could so he could see you for lunch or even work with you sitting quietly on the velvet loveseat in his office. Him working from home was almost worse for you on the days you couldn’t go see him.
You daddy is home. He’s sitting at his desk where you color sometimes, on the chair with the best spinning ability in the whole house. There was just this one door standing in your way. You wanted so badly to knock and call for him through the cracks, but you knew better. You daddy was a stickler for rules, and he would not appreciate you ignoring his boundaries.
You sighed and settled for glaring at the door. Maybe your anger would be enough to open it without touching and then Bucky would be so impressed he’d have to take the rest of the day off.
Pleased with your plan, you sat on the floor with your hands on your knees and continued glaring. It felt like hours were going by. You thought the doorknob was moving, but it was just Alpine’s reflection as she trotted past. You kept glaring. Still, nothing moved. Just when you were about to give up, the sound of a lock turning echoed through the hallway and your daddy opened the door with an amused smile.
“What’re you doing here, sweetheart?”
“Daddy!” You reached your arms out for cuddles and Bucky happily obliged, even pressing a noisy kiss to your cheek.
“Were you sitting on the floor and waiting for Daddy? I saw you on the cameras.”
“I wantedta knock on your door but you said no knocking so I was trying to open it with my eyes,” you explained.
Bucky laughed. “Oh yeah? How did that go?”
You pouted and hid your face in his neck. “It didn’t work.”
“Aww.” He rubbed your back to comfort you. “Maybe if you ate more carrots your eyes would be strong enough to open doors.”
“Daddyyy.”
“I’m kidding, baby. C’mere.” He pressed your foreheads together.
“Thank you for listening to Daddy’s instructions today. You were such a good baby and I’m so proud of you.” He gave you a gentle kiss while your face warmed from his praise and affection.
You thanked Bucky, earning you another kiss and more praise for being so polite.
Your daddy was beaming. Anyone who knew of his title and past would’ve been shocked at the way he grinned ear to ear while holding you in his lap as if you were the most precious thing in the world.
“How did I manage to capture the sweetest little baby in the whole world, huh?”
You giggled. “You didn’t ca’ture me, I got you!” You held his face in your hands. “My daddy.”
“You better feed your daddy now, angel. Daddies get hungry!” Bucky playfully shook free from your grasp and bit your hands.
“Nooo, daddy!” you squealed. “Eat the food downstairs, not me!”
He stopped thrashing and acted shocked. “There’s food downstairs? Why didn’t you say so?”
“Yeah! And we can watch a movie and cuddle after dinner! Can we, daddy?” You clasped your hands together and bounced excitedly.
“Anything you want, baby.”

thirteen.
warning; 😪😪😪😪 1k words. masterlist.
“want to add this on your list perhaps?”
what started out as a joke earlier became something too real, something you literally whipped out a whole new notebook and pen for. much to jake’s amusement.
“yes, i very much do jake. this is serious.”
the man rolls his eyes at your words and continues watching tv while you jotted down more than necessary dot points.
after that little interaction in the kitchen where you both agreed on a new start, you decided it’d be best to establish ‘roommate rules’. something you should’ve done from the start. there were months left on your lease and whether you’ll move out or not by the end of it, it was better to stay civil.
“we’ll add more as we go,” you hand him the list, making him chuckle before he even looked at it.
“you can’t be serious about this one? no walking around topless?” he scoffs while looking at you as if it was the most ridiculous thing he has ever read, “does that apply to just me... or the both of us?”
you choke at the way his gaze suddenly falls down to your shirt. it evokes something inside of you, something that has your thighs immediately rubbing together. unfortunately you were still working on your very mild attraction to the man.
although you’ve sworn to not fall for this man’s fuckboy ways anymore, you can’t deny that he’s attractive. very, very attractive. if you could suggest for him to always wear a mask of some sort in the apartment, you would’ve, trust.
“b- both of us!”
“oh. what a shame.”
“i’m serious jake!”
“i am too, roomie,” he says with a smug grin, his shoulder bumping into yours lightly, his face now much closer to yours than before.
it’s like he knows just how to get you worked up, only needing to switch up his voice a tiny bit. that god damn voice that gets you feeling all sorts of emotions at once.
“no nicknames too!” you blurt out before you could stop yourself, realising how stupid you must’ve seem to suggest such a thing.
“roomie,” the man leans in even more much to your horror, something he immediately noticed with the face you’re making. it only causes him to laugh more, “i’m starting to think this list is quite... personal.”
you hop off the couch before he could get any closer, your poor heart working on overdrive at the thought of what could’ve happened if you didn’t move. but at this point, you don’t want to know and aren’t willing to find out.
“it’s not. i’m just adding what’s necessary. whatever i’m gonna make dinner.”
you rush to the kitchen, ready to busy yourself and your mind on making dinner instead of the man currently laughing in the living room. but you’re glad, glad that there were now rules set in place that will hopefully be followed.
and let you live in peace for the rest of your lease.
“is helping with dinner breaking any of the rules?”
the man’s words has you immediately whipping your head back, brows furrowed at his blatant teasing. one of the many dot points on the list.
“i’m kidding, lighten up beauti-” he stops mid word when he notices your expression change yet again, “okay. what do you need help with my dear roommate?”
the next half an hour flies by with him busy chopping up the ingredients as told while you’re making some soup. it’s done so in complete silence but it’s a nice type of silence, where you’re both just doing your own thing but at the same time, enjoying each other’s company.
it had been such a long time since you’ve felt this way with jake, hell you’re not sure whether you’ve ever felt this calm around him. the first few weeks living with the man was hell from what you remembered, always having to be on high alert with his blatant flirtatious ways.
but this, this was definitely something you could get used to.
“alright the carrots are done,” the man says in almost a cheer type of way, proudly showing you the result of his 30 minute chopping journey, “i did such a good job.”
“hm yes. a verrrrrrry good job,” you can’t help but fall into a fit of laughter at the sad looking, uneven circles on his plate that you’re sure your 4 year old cousin would’ve done a better job at. “they look beautiful jake! wow!”
“are you making fun of me?” his brows raise threatening as he steps forward, almost trapping you in against the kitchen counter, the plate of carrots still in his hold, “are you teasing my carrots too?”
“no! they’re really beautiful!” you tried your hardest to hold your laughter but the serious look on his face did it for you. it broke you.
before you could even react, the man grabs the hose from the sink and aims it directly at you. and knowing jake sim, you’re sure he would do it too.
“one more lie and you go swimming.”
“jake sim i swear if you- JAKE!”
and like you had already expected, he really does spray it towards you, drenching your face and parts of your top. without hesitation, you charge towards him in an attempt to steal the hose but with your height difference, the man was able to hold it high above without struggle.
unlike the struggle you’re currently going through.
“wait til i get that hose-” you’re jumping up and down between words, hands grasping onto his chest in order to jump higher but that only results in you almost falling onto him numerous times.
“so much for rules huh.”
you open your mouth to question him, only to realise the position you were in. your hands were on him, his arm around you, your faces only a breath apart.
“rule 2 and 3. and especially rule 1,” the proud smirk that appears on his face immediately has you frozen in place but it’s the way he leans in just a tiny bit more that has you holding your breath altogether. “we just broke all 3 in one go.”
rule 3; keep a suitable distance to each other.
rules 2; no physical contact unless necessary.
rule 1; strictly NO flirting.
you should’ve known that this would happen, to fail all the rules in two seconds. but what else were you expecting, especially with the other party being jake sim.
your one ultimate weakness from the very start.
end.

scraps
{carlos sainz x charles leclerc}
in which memory is a persistent thing. a love story in two halves.
-
Carlos buries his nose in the hood of the cream hoodie that Charles leaves behind, inhaling the scent of laundry soap and something unmistakably Charles.
If he closes his eyes, he can pretend Charles is here instead of thousands of miles away. Instead, the softness he wants to burrow into is hollow - empty - a poor replacement for the man he wants to touch, to taste.
He’s long realised he can’t rid himself of this yearning, and so instead of fighting it, he gives in freely - letting his hands wander over Charles whenever he can, to tease him with words and suggestive looks even when there are cameras around. He doesn’t care if anyone knows - his love demands expression.
He clutches the hoodie and wonders what other little scraps of Charles exist in his apartment, in his heart.
-
On the other side of the world, Charles stares out into the busy street, the spread of data sheets in front of him long forgotten, his coffee turning cold. Instead of the name he’s grown familiar with, one so close to his own, the papers are now scrawled with Lewis’ name, his numbers.
He feels sick.
Carlos isn’t even gone yet, but they’re already packing all memory of him into boxes.
Charles absently reaches for the little crochet toy in his lap - more carrot-shaped than chilli, and strokes a familiar line down the threading - now worn from his repeated, self-soothing movements.
Carlos once told him, teasingly, that he’d forget that toy that he’d handed to him. Like he’d be careless about it - leave it in the car, at the paddock, or in a hotel. They receive hundreds of gifts every race weekend - but this one, this time, is different.
He didn’t think Carlos heard him - but his whole face had grown serious even before he could play it cool for the cameras. “I won’t,” he’d said, almost stubbornly, more to himself than anything.
He won’t forget Carlos - no matter how many times the headlines remind him that it’s his last fucking year, no matter how many jokes Carlos makes or how casually he refers to their impending separation. He won’t forget their podiums and their losses, the taste of champagne that is especially sweet when Carlos sprays it right against his face - the taste of Carlos himself, when they’re alone behind closed doors, and he can finally summon the courage to let his hands and lips linger, possess. He won’t forget the way Carlos looks up at him from between his spread thighs, how his mouth can go from deliciously filthy to whispered tenderness that threatens to fracture him in seconds.
He has never been good with goodbyes. He was nearly inconsolable with Seb.
Now, with Carlos - it’s unthinkable.
His idly stroking finger catches on a loose thread in the crochet, and he swears when he sees the way his strokes have frayed the string, wearing it out with his carelessness. He needs to be more careful - the chili in his lap is already starting to unravel.
“You’re going to forget about it,” Carlos had said. A joke, mere weeks ago. He’ll bet Carlos has forgotten about it already.
Charles still hasn’t.
Won’t.

Loving You Always: A Tying You to Me Extra

It was the countdown Quinn noticed first. One of those widgets you could add to the home screen of your phone. There wasn’t a picture or description, but 34 days were left when she first saw it and she quickly tried to calculate what the date could mean.
It wasn’t the end of Harry’s tour and the date didn’t correspond to any notable birthdays or anniversaries. Unless it was something new Harry had up his sleeve, she had no clue what it could be.
“Big plans for the summer?” Quinn tried hard to sound casual when she brought it up later that night. Harry was chopping vegetables for a stir-fry as she heated oil in the pan. He paused, a thoughtful smirk on his face, and Quinn could almost hear the wheels spinning in his head as he thought of a sarcastic retort.
“Well, I’m just making a quick trip over a castle in a couple of days. Have a few more shows here and there but nothing too exciting.” He looked up from the cutting board and flashed her his trademark grin.
“Nothing else though. No other shows? No filming or fashion things? Like say in 34 days?” Harry’s eyes were back on the vegetables, and at the mention of the date, his hand slipped, the knife nicking the tip of his finger.
“Shit.”
“Oh, Harry.” Quinn spun around behind her grabbing a clean paper towel, doubling it over before pressing it against the small cut. “Hold that there,” she said, turning back to toss some of the cut vegetables into the pan. “Is it still bleeding?”.
“No, it wasn’t too bad. Just startled me more than anything. But that’s what I get for letting you distract me.”
“I distracted you?”
“Yeah, you’re interrogating me when I’m chopping vegetables,” Harry teased.
“Your hand slipped. I’m sorry, but how is that my fault???”
“You’re getting all in my business asking weirdly specific questions that make no sense.”
Quinn flushed, feeling only slightly guilty that she’d been so nosy. “I’m just trying to…plan some things out.”
“Oh? Like what?”
“I don’t know, lunch?”
“You want to plan a lunch…34 days from now.”
“Yeah.” Quinn held his gaze, unrelenting.
“You’re something else woman.” He shook his head, the grin never leaving his face. “Inflicting pain on your poor boyfriend, on his well deserved day off. Keep this up and we’ll see if I get you a rin–” Harry blanched, and then cleared his throat. “But, uh, to answer your question, it’s a work meeting that I can’t miss so I’ll have to pass on lunch that day.”
“With Columbia?” The words came out faster than Quinn intended, as she tried to process the words that had almost come out of Harry’s mouth.
“Yeah.” Harry looked at his finger. “Looks like it’s not a serious wound. I’m going to wash up and then I can chop some more if you need it.”
“That would be great.” Quinn’s voice sounded strange to her own ears. “I think we might need more broccoli and carrots.” She went back to pushing vegetables around the pan, paying careful attention and trying to distract herself from the thoughts currently racing through her mind.
The countdown was the furthest thing from her mind as she fixated and the single word Harry had almost said – ring.
Rings had been top of mind since he’d given her that trinket after Christmas. While it mostly lived upstairs in the jewelry tray he’d made for her, Quinn had been known to pick it up and put on her left ring finger when she was alone, savoring the physical and symbolic weight of it and praying that a real one would be coming soon.
Harry returned to her side, chopping and tossing a few more veggies into the pan before pulling dishes from the cabinet. He made no mention of his earlier remark while they ate and it didn’t come up as they cleaned up the kitchen or watched a film after dinner. In fact, Quinn had nearly forgotten about it by the time they were getting ready for bed, until she saw Harry fidgeting with his phone.
She almost brought it up again, wanting to investigate further, but thought better of the impulse. Harry didn’t take kindly to prying and, after more than six years, she knew the best way to get him to open up was to let him come to her. When he climbed out of bed to fill his glass of water she snuck one glance at his phone and saw that the countdown had disappeared.
“Lights out?” Harry asked, standing by the switch.
“Mmhmm,” Quinn said, flicking on her bedside lamp. She opened up her book and watched Harry over top of the pages. He was nonchalant, shuffling across the room, climbing under the covers, and giving her a kiss before turning onto his side and quickly falling asleep.
Quinn turned a few pages not retaining any of the words. Maybe Harry’s slip of the tongue earlier meant nothing, but as she turned off her light and curled up next to Harry, thoughts of rings, dresses, and weddings danced through her head.
***
“Jeff, have you seen my parents?” Quinn asked. She’d been doing laps backstage for the last hour and hadn’t managed to locate them. Seeing as this was only their second time at Wembley, she was slightly concerned.
“Can’t say I have,” Jeff said. “Tommy, have you seen them?” Tommy shook his head and went back to his ongoing conversation. “Sorry, Quinn, Maybe they went out to their seats?”
“Maybe…” Quinn said, unconvinced. “Thanks.”
She headed towards the exit of the room that served as the main hub backstage, preparing to do another lap when she saw her mom, dad, and brother, Alex, being led towards her, escorted by Harry.
“Oh my God, where were you guys? I’ve been looking all over for you!” Quinn exclaimed, trying not to sound as concerned as she felt. “Did you get lost?”
“I’ll have you know we knew exactly where we were going,” her mother chided. “Harry was giving us a backstage tour, dear. No need to worry.”
“I could have done that, Mom. Harry’s busy. He’s supposed to be onstage in…” She glanced at her watch. “Like 45 minutes.”
“It was no problem,” Harry said cheerfully. “Nice way for me to calm the nerves before the show.”
“If you say so…” Quinn glanced at her father, hoping to get him on her side, but instead saw a weird mix of emotions across his face. “Dad, are you alright?”
He cleared his throat. “Yeah, just a bit overwhelmed. You see the stadium on TV and it doesn’t look that big but in person…” He took a deep, shuddering breath.
Quinn shot Harry a look, silently seeking an answer from him, only getting a shrug in return.
“As Quinn so kindly reminded me, I should probably head off and start getting ready,” Harry said apologetically. “But make yourself at home and I’ll see you all later.” He planted a pert kiss on Quinn’s temple and made his way to his dressing room.
Quinn’s father sniffed and blinked rapidly as her mother cheerfully patted his back. Quinn looked over at Alex who, just like Harry, shrugged.
“Well,” Quinn said. “I guess we can go to the green room and maybe grab some food? I think Anne and some of Harry’s family are already there.”
Quinn’s parents set off in the direction she pointed and instead of following them, she hung a few steps back, pulling her brother alongside her.
“What the hell is wrong with Dad?” she whispered.
“How am I supposed to know? You know how weird he gets when he’s jet-lagged.”
Quinn stared at Alex. Something was wrong and she hoped it had nothing to do with Harry. He’d met her parents on numerous occasions, joined in on phone calls and Zooms, and even made an appearance at Christmas one year. As great as that was, the unfortunate fact was that it didn’t feel like nearly enough time, and a small part of her wondered if her parents resented that they didn’t get to see her or Harry as often as they should. Her parents had never expressed any reservations, but maybe something had happened.
Alex continued to walk behind their parents but Quinn grabbed his arm pulling him back. “What went wrong on the tour?”
He pursed his lips and looked thoughtful before shaking his head. “Nothing I can think of.”
“Nothing?”
“Nothing.”
Quinn looked defeated. She didn’t know why but she thought her dad’s weird behavior could be connected to whatever weirdness she’d seen on Harry’s phone, but she remained answerless and even more confused. “Well, if something does happen, you’ve got to let me know.”
Alex nodded and they started walking to catch up to her parents. After a moment, he spoke up. “I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you this, Quinn, but I really like Harry. Like obviously no one is ever going to be good enough for you, but he’s a decent guy. And I’m not just saying that because we got a free trip to London because of him.”
“Oh, well that’s good to know.”
“I’m serious, Quinn. He’s exactly the kind of person you deserve to be with and I hope you see that.”
Quinn stared blankly. She and her brother were close, but they weren’t close in the share-your-feelings-all-of-the-time way. “Thank you,” she replied cautiously. “Um, I’m pretty fond of Harry myself.”
Alex chuckled. “Funny you say that. Harry said the exact same thing.”
“What?”
“Yeah, you two are really meant to be.” Her brother quickened his pace leaving Quinn behind, stunned.
That night as Quinn brushed her teeth she watched Harry in the mirror. He was snuggled beneath the comforter, having showered before they left the venue. His curls were untamed, the clip that usually held them back discarded on the nightstand by his glasses as he squinted at the paperback book in his hand, a sure sign that he was more tired than he was letting on.
She formulated her plan as she rinsed her mouth.
“Big day today, huh?”
“Yeah.” Harry sighed thoughtfully. “I don’t think I’ve fully processed it.”
“Mmm, yeah.” Quinn rubbed some lotion onto her hands, trying her best to appear nonchalant. “My parents were raving about how amazing you were and how incredible the venue was. Did they mention anything to you when you gave them that tour?”
If she’d have blinked she would have missed it, but Harry stiffened, his relaxed posture vanishing for a split second before he recovered. “No, they didn’t say anything like that. Your dad was just hung up on how everything’s backwards here.”
“Yeah, that does throw him. Nothing else?”
“Nope.”
Dammit. She’d thought she’d figured it out but was back at square one.
“Love, not trying to rush but how much longer are you going be? I think I’m ready to head to bed.”
She met Harry’s sleepy, tired eyes in the mirror and instantly forgot about her hidden agenda. “I’ll be in in a sec, baby.”
***
The day had finally come. The final show of the tour.
Quinn wasn’t sure she’d ever see this day. Over the past two years, the concerts had been a permanent fixture of her life and she measured time in relation to them, able to rattle off exactly what she’d been doing if you named a city and date. And now it was all over.
It was the perfect night. The weather had miraculously cleared up despite a scorching, stormy morning and the crowd was even more energized than usual. She’d had a good idea of what the night had in store, thanks to Harry’s nervous chatter, and when Harry finally emerged onstage for one last time, she’d been able to relax and cut loose, jumping and dancing around the pit with the rest of his family and friends, singing at the top of her lungs.
The one surprise of the evening was when Harry returned to the stage and sat down at the piano. He started playing a melody that sounded familiar, something she’d heard echoing through the halls of the house when he couldn’t sleep. A version of the melody that she’d heard nearly every morning he was home, seated at the piano coffee in hand, playing as he rubbed sleep from his eyes. She finally had her answer now as to what it was for and she wiped tears from her cheeks as she listened to him play what was clearly a very personal piece for the nearly silent crowd.
As she made her way backstage, trailing behind the larger group, she felt…weird. Happy but sad, excited but scared. Tomorrow would be the start of her “normal” life with Harry. No tours, no odd work hours, no time zones keeping them from each other. It was everything she’d dreamed of, so why was she so apprehensive? This break was a good thing. Harry had accomplished more than he’d ever imagined, and after a nice, well-deserved break, he’d be onto his next chapter, personally and professionally.
While they hadn’t explicitly discussed what would happen between them after this leg of the tour had ended, they’d occasionally danced around the subject. Like on those nights in between shows when they’d found themselves tangled with each other in bed and the connection felt next level, when she felt Harry murmuring secrets only he could understand against her skin. Or the unspoken words that passed between them when she’d let go of his hand and his fingers would linger just a little too long before letting her go.
They were heading towards…something. She just didn’t know what or when or how. But they’d get there.
Back in the present Quinn gnawed at her lip, trying to fight back the tears. It had been easy to hide them throughout the day as she’d all but avoided Harry, giving him the space he needed to mentally prepare himself for what was about to happen. He’d been emotional all week and she wanted to be a solid support for him at this time, which meant limited tears of her own. Sure that her eyes were dry, she gave three quiet knocks on the door, and waited for Harry’s soft response before turning the knob.
He was sitting on the sofa, shirtless with his head in his hands. His hair was damp and the air was thick with humidity from the shower he’d just taken. The ends of his hair dripped down the towel draped over his back. He looked up, hearing her footsteps, and ran his hand through his hair sending more droplets down his broad back. He opened his arms, and Quinn slipped onto his lap, looping one arm around his neck and using the other to tilt his chin up.
“You did it, baby,” Quinn said. They were alone in the dressing room but she still spoke softly. “You did it.”
“I did,” Harry said simply. “It’s done.”
“And you should be so proud,” Quinn whispered against his lips, before kissing him.
“Still hasn’t sunk in yet,” Harry said hollowly. “Feels like I’m going to be back on the road tonight heading to the next stop. Feels weird to just…be.”
“I need you to listen to me, H. Two years is a long time and you’ve given so much good to the world in that time. You’ve brought joy and happiness and love and peace to millions of people and you’re going to continue to do that for years to come. But now’s your time to rest, to do something for yourself. You’re allowed to relax.”
Harry looked up, a fresh set of tears welling in his eyes. “What the hell did I do to deserve you?” he choked out. Quinn tried to wipe the tears from his face, but her vision soon blurred with her own as they sat there crying in each other’s arms. “Thank you for always being there for me and for letting me be exactly who I need to be. I love you in ways I can’t describe. I–” He swallowed and looked like he was about to say something else, but a new sob wracked his body.
“It’s OK, Harry. I love you too,” Quinn whispered, kissing his cheek and his forehead and his jaw before landing on his lips again. “Do you need a minute by yourself before we join everyone else?”
Harry cleared his throat. “Yeah. Let me pull myself together and throw some clothes on.” Quinn busied herself on her phone as Harry dressed and stowed his towel in the laundry basket. A few moments later, she felt his hand on the small of her back. He raised an eyebrow in a silent question and Quinn nodded.
He held the door open for her and when he exited behind her. He took one last look around before sighing heavily. “Let’s go,” he said. “I’ve got a bottle of tequila with my name on it.”
Tequila and spirits of all sorts flowed at the afterparty, a gathering filled with Harry’s family and closest friends who had flown in for the occasion. Everyone was fighting for a moment with him, a chance to say how proud they were, how incredible the night was, all statements that brought out his bashful side. His cheeks growing red and his eyes watery as he sucked in his cheeks and tried to keep the tears from falling.
Quinn kept a respectful distance, following closely, but not intruding on his space. He’d been unusually clingy since they’d left the show, holding onto her tightly, and not letting go until she’d urged him to catch up with his friends. She could tell he was reluctant and he kept looking over towards her, and with each glance she’d give him a nod of encouragement, letting him know that it was OK to follow his own advice. To rest and have fun.
As the night wore on, Harry grew more comfortable and compliments were traded for drinks, everyone around him offering him shots or glasses of different colored liquids. Quinn was still hovering, but was caught up in her own reverie celebrating with the group that had become an extension of her family as well over the past two years.
When the sun began to rise and the party started to end, Quinn felt a pair of hands on her hips. Without turning around, she knew it was Harry, able to recognize him by the feel of his hands after all these years. “I guess we should maybe head out?” he whispered against the shell of her ear. “Head home?”
Home aka their villa they’d be spending the next few weeks in. Anne and the rest of the family had made their way over earlier in the evening, and were planning to stay for a brief, post-tour vacation as well.
Harry slung his arm around Quinn and they watched the sun come up on the horizon. He let out a shaky breath, and without looking, Quinn knew he was crying again.
“I wish I could bottle this moment,” he said. “Don’t ever want to forget it.”
“You won’t. And the best part is that you’ll make many more memories down the road.”
“I mean, this, now with you.”
Quinn looked at him puzzled. “Well, we’re going to have more memories again too. Unless you’re also planning to dump me at the end of this tour.”
Harry laughed, a short chuckle at first followed by a heartier bellow. “Fuck,” he said when the laughter had abated. “It’s hard to believe that’s what happened the last time a tour ended.”
“Would you like me to book my ticket back now or later?”
“Hate to break it to you love but you’re stuck with me.”
“Oooh, really?”
“Yeah, and I’ve got some big plans for us.”
“Is that so?”
“Mmmhmm,” Harry said. “We’re going to take a nap. A nice long one. Maybe a couple a day.”
“Go on…”
“Sex. Can’t forget that.”
“Of course.”
“Some fine dining. My own recipes and some restaurants.”
“Can’t wait.”
“Pool time, walks by the beach, heading into town to go to the museums. We’re going to do it all.” He planted a kiss on her temple.
“I want to do everything with you, H.”
“I want to do everything with you, Agent Q.”
Quinn felt a flutter in her chest. Harry’s use of that first nickname he’d given her had grown less frequent over the years in favor of more romantic or even cheesier ones. But that callback to their start had her filled with love and affection.
“Car’s here,” Harry said. “After you.” He opened the door and let Quinn slide in, pulling the door shut after him.
Harry chatted pleasantly with the driver in Italian, and Quinn felt the flutter in her chest travel down her body. Hearing the language flow smoothly off his tongue did things to her she didn’t understand. However, there was little she could do about those feelings as they fell into bed, snoring side-by-side within minutes. Hours later, Quinn awoke, feeling Harry hard against her thigh and when he stirred, he had her pressed against the mattress in minutes, whispering hushed proclamations of love as he rocked into her, before they finished and fell asleep again.
When they roused in the late hours of the afternoon, they were greeted by Anne who had taken the liberty of preparing dinner and they enjoyed the family meal, Harry smiling from ear to ear the entire time. In exchange, Harry offered to do the dishes, shooing Quinn away when she offered to help.
From her spot on the couch where she nursed her second – or maybe third – glass of wine, Quinn observed Harry and Anne, and the easy way he chatted with his mother. She couldn’t tell what they were discussing but Anne was focused intently on her son as he talked. Quinn could tell by the way his back moved that Harry was discussing whatever subject passionately as Anne nodded along. Harry was a man of few words – he was always warm but he never used two words when one would do, so his sudden talkativeness was a little strange, but Quinn just attributed it to the emotional week he was coming down from, and when he came into the living room, hands still warm from the soapy water, she cuddled into his solid frame as they settled in to watch a film.
The rest of the week was equally relaxing. Quinn and Anne took turns doting on Harry, making sure he was comfortable at all times, refilling his drink and getting him whatever he needed. Harry, in turn, organized outings and activities for everyone. Boating around the lake, shopping around town, and a wine tasting at a local vineyard, followed by lengthy dinners until everyone left Italy to head back home one by one, leaving Quinn, Harry, Anne, and a few select family members remaining until it was finally Anne’s turn to leave.
“I’ve loved having you here, mum. What time do you need to be at the airport?” Harry asked around a mouthful of scrambled eggs.
“Harry!”
“What?” He looked at Quinn. “I don’t want her to miss her flight! And she’s probably sick of us by now.”
“You don’t have to rush her out the door. Let her finish her toast!”
“He’s fine, dear,” Anne said, gently, with a teasing glint in her eye. “I know when I’ve overstayed my welcome.”
“See,” Harry said as if her statement proved his point.
“Anne, don’t listen to your son. You’re perfectly fine to stay a few more days. That’s what we were planning on anyway.” Quinn turned to Harry, who had grown very pale. “Right?”
“Well, yeah, but I just figured we’d enjoy the…privacy.”
Quinn flushed. The presence of family members in adjacent rooms had never stopped them from “enjoying privacy” in the past. In fact, they’d grown pretty skilled at having a near silent quickie when the need called. What was his problem? “Harry, our calendars are basically empty for the next six months. Your mother is welcome to stay. Anne, please, stay as long as you want.”
Harry’s eyes bounced between Quinn and his mother. “Well, it’s just–”
“I already booked my flight, sweetheart, so it wouldn’t make much sense to change it now,” Anne said to Quinn. “But I really appreciate you wanting me to stay.”
“Oh, OK,” Quinn said, defeated. “Maybe next time.” She collected the empty breakfast plates from the table. “Anyone want more coffee?” Both Anne and Harry declined, and as Quinn turned her back to deposit the dishes in the sink, she completely missed the silent look of thanks Harry shot his mother.
Quinn studied Harry closely in the days following Anne’s departure. All of the weird behavior he’d displayed over the last few months had become non-existent and he was just Harry again. No shutting his phone as Quinn approached. No furtive glances at her when he thought she wasn’t looking. No hushed phone calls in other rooms. All of that had been replaced by his normal behavior. Grabbing her hand and pulling her closer to him as they walked into the village for coffee and pastries. Pressing a kiss against her neck as he read the page over her shoulder. Kisses good morning and goodnight. Smothered in affection, Quinn forgot about all of the questions she’d been harboring throughout the summer and resolved to just soak up this uninterrupted time with Harry.
A few days later, Harry suggested they have a night in and try out a new recipe, a tortellini dish he’d apparently been dying to try. Quinn didn’t know what was so special about this pasta, which looked nearly identical to the pasta they’d eaten two nights ago, but she held her tongue after seeing how happy Harry looked standing behind the counter in his apron.
She had to admit, the pasta was delicious, and having Harry by her side made it even better. When their plates had been emptied, she stood, figuring dish duty was only fair in exchange for Harry having cooked. She dropped the dishes in the soapy water with a splash.
“Just leave those dishes for now. It’s a beautiful sunset tonight.”
“Oh-kay…” Quinn dropped the sponge in the sink and dabbed her hands on the dish towel.
“Figured we shouldn’t waste the night. Thought we could enjoy another glass outside?” Harry held a bottle of wine and two glasses in his hands.
“Sure. When in Rome, right?”
“Give or take 100 kilometers.”
“Since when are you Mr. Mathematics?”
“Since I grew concerned that you don’t know your Italian geography.”
Quinn playfully smacked Harry’s arm, before leaning into his side. “Well let’s go then! That wine’s not going to drink itself.”
They sat side by side on the garden swing. Quinn kicked her sandals off and pulled her feet under her as Harry poured them two hefty glasses. Quinn turned to look at Harry and raised her glass. “To a successful tour and even more successful celebration of all your hard work.”
“Our hard work,” Harry gently corrected. “You were as much a part of everything as I was.”
Quinn blushed. “A successful celebration of all of our hard work.” She paused. “Here’s to more amazing moments and just as many simple ones.”
“I’ll drink to that,” Harry said softly, touching the rim of his glass to Quinn’s. “Cheers.”
They both took a sip of the wine.
“Wow, that’s good,” Quinn said. “Is this from the vineyard?”
“Not quite,” Harry said slowly. “It’s a Chardonnay. Cellar No. 8.”
Quinn frowned, trying to figure out why that particular wine was familiar. “Have we had that before.”
“Just once.”
“When?”
“Um, it was the night we got dinner at that Italian restaurant near your office. I met you on your dinner break.” His voice had the slightest tremor to it. “It was a couple days after we ran into each other again. I was going to ask if you wanted to give us another try.”
The memory came to Quinn in a flash. “And instead I asked you to get my boyfriend a ticket to the Met.” She laughed. “Jesus Christ, do I know how to ruin a moment or what?”
Harry laughed and pulled her in for a hug. “It wasn’t ideal, but I wouldn’t say you ruined anything. Everything between us happened at exactly the right time. It’s meant to be. I mean who knows, if we’d gotten back together that night, we might not be sitting here now.”
“That’s very true.” She laid her head against Harry’s chest and closed her eyes. The moment felt perfect.
“Quinn, I want to marry you,” Harry said, jolting Quinn to attention.
“What?”
“I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to call you my wife. And I guess I want to know if you’d be alright with that…” He trailed off, losing all bravado the more he spoke. Quinn stared at him, truly speechless for the first time in her life. “Please, for the love of God say something, Quinn.”
“Are you serious?”
“Umm, yeah,” Harry laughed nervously. “Not really something you joke about.”
“Are you sure?”
“Am I sure?” Harry laughed a full belly laugh.
“I mean, I’m kind of a lot. And not in the best way. I mean, I overthink everything, I always manage to spoil your romantic surprises and ruin the moment…”
“You don’t say?”
“See! Are you sure?”
“Quinn, I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. When I think about what I’ll remember 60 years from now, yeah, I’ll remember touring the world, but what will really stand out is you. The way I can hear your laugh in the crowd when I make a terrible joke. The look on your face when I play you a new song. The way you curl up next to me when you’re really tired. The way you’ve trained me to get rid of all the green Skittles. Your determination, your dedication to us. The love you show me every day. That’s what I’ll remember, Quinn.”
“Yes, Harry.” Quinn cleared her throat. “I want to marry you. I want to be your wife and I want you to be my husband.”
“Are you sure?” Harry laughed as Quinn shoved him.
“Yes, I have never been more sure of anything.”
“Well, alright then.” Harry shifted in his seat, lifting up onto one side to reach into his left pants pocket, producing a velvet box. His hands were shaking ever so slightly, causing Quinn to reach out and steady them gently. “Thank you, love,” Harry said with a sniff.
“That’s what I’m here for,” Quinn said with a small smile.
Harry slowly opened the box to reveal a diamond ring nestled in the cushion, earning a gasp from Quinn. “Did I pick well?” he asked.
Quinn tried to think of a joke, something quippy to say to play down the litany of emotions she was feeling in the moment, but for what felt like the first time in her life, the first time in their relationship, she played it straight. “Yes, it’s perfect.” She took his face in her hands and pulled him to kiss him slowly, doing her very best to memorize everything about the two of them at that moment.
“So I picked really well then…noted,” Harry said with a breathless laugh, running his hand through his hair. He blinked hard and Quinn could see a few tears fall. “Shit,” he said. “Thought I was all cried out but apparently not.” Quinn reached up to wipe the tears away, and as she pulled away, Harry caught her hand and kissed her fingertips, her palms, her wrist, pulling her close, until she was nearly on top of him, looking him straight in the eyes.
“This is really hard sometimes, but having you next to me makes it so much easier,” he said.
“Well, good news, I’m not going anywhere,” Quinn managed to get out before another wave of tears overtook her.
“That’s the best news I’ve gotten all month,” Harry replied, kissing her again.
Quinn looked down at her hand, now resting against Harry’s chest, fully appreciating the sparkling ring on her finger. “How did you manage to plan this?” she asked.
“I’ve been working on it for a while,” Harry admitted. “Started looking at rings after our stay at Jeff’s. When I finally realized that I was the person I needed to be for you.”
“That was like three years ago. Harry, are you serious?”
“What can I say, I’m really good at keeping secrets.” He chuckled. “The rest of it slowly came into place after.” He chuckled. “I was terrified you were onto something when you saw that countdown on my phone.”
“What was it for?” Quinn asked. “The day has already passed so it couldn’t be for this.”
“You were counting?”
“Of course,” Quinn exclaimed. “You really think I’d see a mystery countdown and not try to figure out what it was for?”
“I had to meet the jeweler in between tour stops and didn’t want to forget.” Harry laughed. “But honestly, I don’t even know how I could forget. This is the only thing I’ve been able to think of for months.”
“Really?”
“Really. I kept coming up with plans and then scrapping them because nothing felt right. A proposal during lockdown didn’t feel right, and after things reopened we were both so busy so I figured I would do something simple. Like I’d ask you on the waterfront or while we went for a walk. Or I’d spell it out in Scrabble tiles or whatever it would take to make it the perfect moment so you could have a great story. I was telling my mum about it and how I wanted to do it while we were here and she just told me to stop worrying and that I’d find the perfect moment. And that’s what happened tonight. We were sitting there, eating dinner and it came to me. Any moment when I’m with you is the perfect moment.”
“Stop it,” Quinn sniffed.
“I’m serious.”
“Well then, I’d have to agree. Everything is perfect when we’re together.”
Harry wrapped his arm around Quinn and they sat next to each other, taking the moment in and enjoying each other's company. Sitting next to Harry, feeling his chest rise and fall, Quinn couldn’t remember the last time they’d been able to be so present with no worry about what was to come tomorrow. Sure, they’d need to call their families and then there’d be a wedding to plan, but for right now it was just her and Harry and everything was as it should be. She closed her eyes, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his chest.
“Quinn?”
“Hmm?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Harry.”

The sounds of cash registers beeping and patrons conversing amongst themselves fills the air. It’s busy this afternoon in the supermarket. It’s a good thing. Choso enjoys company, enjoys the normalcy of simply shopping for groceries. He doesn’t get the opportunity to do it much during competition season and he doesn’t particularly mind the hustle and bustle. Even though he draws attention to himself with his face tattoos and tired eyes, he finds comfort in being around people.
Choso glances down at his phone, the way too long shopping list nearly making his eyes cross as he reads through. You’re coming over for dinner with Choso and his brothers tomorrow night and apparently everything on this list is absolutely essential (according to Yuji). He grabs a few carrots as listed from the vegetable display, tucking them away into a bag before placing them in the basket hanging from his arm. He moves on to look at the herbs noted on his phone. He’s not exactly sure what all of these ingredients will become. He’s not the one cooking dinner– Yuji is.
He’d volunteered out of sheer excitement.
“Choso’s bringing someone home?! That never happens,” Yuji teases. He’s stretched out on the floor in the living room as he reads through a manga.
“Will you ever just call me big brother?” Choso sulks on the couch. “It hurts my feelings when you just call me by my name.”
Yuji ignores him. “What’s she like?!”
“Really sweet. Pretty too. Like, really pretty. She photographs for a skate magazine. That’s how we met.”
“Wow! She seems so cool.”
“She is.”
“I’m so excited! Oh! I’m gonna cook! I’ve been wanting to try this new recipe out.”
Choso smiles, thinking about you. He thinks you’re beautiful, smart, funny and talented. Your photos surprise him whenever you let him get a peek. How can you make a simple trick he’s seen done hundreds of times look different and better every time? You’re passionate. He likes that about you. A lot.
The only thing about you that Choso dislikes is the dead weight attached to you named Suguru Geto. He tries really hard not to let it bother him, but he doesn’t get it. At first, he didn’t mind so much. When you’d told him about your little “situationship” with Suguru, that didn’t matter to him. He’s never been the jealous type anyway. But the more Choso got to know you, the more Suguru’s presence in your life began to irk him.
How was he to know he’d end up feeling this way? He had no idea of knowing how serious he’d become about you. Or how quickly he’d become serious about you. He figured you’d come to your senses sooner or later, see who the better choice was. But Suguru was still sticking around like an annoying rash you couldn’t get rid of.
But he won’t get into that with Yuji right now.
“She’s great. I’m excited for you all to meet her. Hopefully everyone is on their best behavior,” Choso murmurs, face serious.
The slight warning in Choso’s tone makes Yuji sit up. “Hey! Eso’s the asshole. Worry about him. Me and Kechizu will be sooooo nice.”
Choso nods, a small smile playing on his lips. “Okay, good. I’m really nervous so that’s good to hear.”
Choso was glad Yuji volunteered to cook since he loves doing it so much. Otherwise, he’d be ordering takeout. Kechizu talks too much and spits when he speaks, so he was banned from cooking a long time ago. Eso sweats so much, Choso fears he’s eaten the strange smelly goop that forms on his back at some point in time. He was banned, too. Choso can’t cook to save his life, so he sticks to making money, ordering food and keeping a roof over everyone’s head. It’s only when Yuji came to live with them, that the brothers had experienced a real home cooked meal.
It was delicious. And while Choso doesn’t insist Yuji makes dinner often, Yuji enjoys doing so. Choso appreciates that his baby brother uses his cooking skills as a way to bring the family together when time permits.
He sighs as his eyes scan over the items in the shopping basket. He’s almost finished, which is a relief to him. He wants to get back home to clean up for tomorrow. He hopes the dinner goes well, that you like his brothers and that his brothers like you.
After grabbing the last ingredient on the list, Choso waits in the checkout line to pay. He wonders what you’re doing. You’ve been busy since the last time he saw you. Today, you had plans so he would actually have to wait until tomorrow to see you.
Didn’t mean he couldn’t call you, though.
He pulls his phone from his pants, dials your number and lets it ring. You answer on the fourth.
“Hey,” you answer sweetly. He can hear the familiar sound of wheels skidding and slamming against the pavement. You must be out shooting.
“Hey, babe. I was just calling to talk for a minute. I’m at the store right now getting stuff for tomorrow. Wanted to see what you’re up to.”
There’s some rustling on your end and then it’s quiet for a bit. Choso waits patiently. You’re probably trying to get away from the ruckus.
“Sorry, it was a little loud,” you tell him. “I just finished up a shoot at one of the parks. Packing up and then I’m going to grab lunch with Suguru.”
Choso ignores the tightness in his chest from hearing his name. “Oh. Sounds fun.”
“Yeah, but I’m so tired. I’ve been out all morning so I won’t be out too long. I’ll probably go straight home after.”
“With him?” Choso blurts out before he can stop himself. He closes his eyes, pinches the bridge of his nose because he probably sounds so fucking pathetic now. Worrying about you going home with a man you were seeing long before you’d met him; a man who you were open and honest about still having feelings for, still seeing. A man Choso said it was okay for you to continue seeing while you got to know each other.
Even so, he can’t help the nagging feeling of jealousy.
“No? Just me…” You’re quiet for a moment before you ask, “Are you okay?” He can hear you zipping your bags. You’ll be leaving the park soon...with Suguru. He doesn’t want to ruin your time out with friends and…him. Well, he does want to ruin your time out with friends and him, but Choso likes to think he’s a little more mature than that. So he does what any mature jealous person does – He lies.
“I’m fine. Why do you ask?”
The cashier waves Choso forward and he sets his basket on to the checkout belt.
“You just never really ask about Suguru…I was just wondering if you’re alright.”
Choso hardly asks about Suguru because he doesn’t want to hear about Suguru. Although at some point in time he told you he was willing to wait for you to come to your senses, he sometimes wonders if you ever will.
Choso enjoys going with the flow. He’s chill, avoids drama the best he can. He’s laid back. But that doesn’t make him an idiot. He knows your history with Suguru. And he gets it…sort of. A year is a long time to have your feelings toyed with. To be dragged along for the ride, constantly pulled close only to be pushed away.
From what Choso knows, it was less about building a relationship with you and all about the sex for Suguru. But for you…you wanted so much more from him and he didn’t want to give that to you. At least, not until Choso entered the picture. It seemed suddenly the asshole had finally opened his eyes and realized how good you were. That, or he was trying to keep you from realizing you deserved better than him. Choso would bet on the latter.
Because how could Suguru have not seen it in the first place? How could he have not chosen to give you more when you’d asked the first time?
Choso thinks Suguru’s a fucking idiot, an actual monkey.
Actually, Choso’s pretty sure a monkey is smarter than Suguru at this point. Of course, he doesn’t voice this to you. You’ve got history with Suguru, no matter how shitty. He’s still the new guy in your life and he likes you a lot. He doesn’t want to ruin anything.
But fuck, he wishes you’d open your eyes to how much of a piece of shit Suguru is.
It’s easy enough for Choso to give Suguru zero energy when they’re in the same area together. It’s not like they had much communication with each other before, if any. Now it seemed Choso couldn’t escape him.
“Choso?”
“Sir?”
The cashier’s voice and yours pull him back to the present at the same time. The cashier points to the screen, the total waiting to be paid.
“I’m sorry,” he says quickly to both you and the cashier. “Um, I have to go, baby. Text me later?”
“Sure. I’ll text you when I get home.”
“Cool, uh…have fun.”
He ends the call, pocketing his phone and taking his wallet out so he can pay and get out of the way. He takes his receipt from the cashier before grabbing the bag of groceries and exiting the store.
----------
The next evening finds Choso frantically setting up the table for dinner. You’d be here at any moment and he wants the place to look perfect. Unfortunately, Eso and Kechizu got called into work so it would only be you, Choso and Yuji for dinner. Probably for the best. He loves his brothers, but they can be a bit much all at once. Better not to get Eso worked up anyway. The entire house would smell.
Choso’s got a bouquet of roses in a new vase in the center of the table. Yuji’s idea. He’s not sure when or how his little brother became such a romantic, but he’s grateful for any tips.
Choso doesn’t date much, doesn’t have time for it. It’s not that he’s not interested in finding someone, but his lifestyle keeps him so busy, it’s hard to find someone understanding enough to tolerate it. And then he met you. You work in his field (sort of) and you’re just as busy if not more. You understand that travel is a part of his job and there will be times when he’s unavailable. You’re patient when he’s unavailable for long periods of time. You’re what he wants in a partner in all honesty.
Yuji brings the food over and begins plating the two plates sitting next to each other. He’s so fancy in his little apron; like a real chef. Choso wonders if he gets his love and talent for cooking from his side of the family. Probably, since Choso and all of his brothers can’t cook.
The doorbell rings indicating your arrival.
“Oh, she’s here!” He exclaims, rushing back to the kitchen to put the pans away as Choso heads to the door. He swings the door open, unable to stop the wide smile that spreads across his face when he sees you.
Damn, he missed you.
You’re standing there, all smiles too, in a cute little dress that hugs you in all the right places. You look incredible. It gets the usual reaction from Choso that he has to go above and beyond to hide any time he’s around you – a subtle, persistent throbbing between his legs. It takes a lot for him not to blatantly stare.
Instead, he leans down and presses a quick kiss to your cheek.
“Hey babe,” he greets you, lacing his fingers through yours and pulling you inside.
“Hey,” you say back, gifting Choso with a shy smile.
“You look great.”
“Thank you.”
Choso’s lips are on yours as soon as the door shuts, arms looping around your waist to pull you closer. Your arms wrap around his neck, pulling him forward to deepen the kiss. You open your mouth to him and he takes the opportunity to slip his tongue past your teeth and press the soft muscle against yours. You both stand in the entryway, lips slotting against each other, Choso’s hands gliding up and down your back as he holds you close. When you moan softly into his mouth, that throbbing between his legs grows and he reluctantly breaks the kiss.
You peer up at him through your lashes, so fucking pretty it only makes the throbbing grow almost painful. So he turns away from you if only to calm himself down. It’s always like this with you. It feels like someone is playing a cruel and twisted joke on him, because he told you he had no issue waiting for sex. And he doesn’t. But fuck, you always look so good, smell so sweet. It’s hard for him to not want to break his little rule.
Choso takes a deep breath before his hand finds yours again, leading you into the apartment.
“It smells great in here,” you comment. “I’m so excited to meet your brothers.”
“Just brother. Eso and Kechizu had to work unfortunately, but Yuji is here,” Choso explains. “He actually cooked tonight.”
“Really?! Can’t wait to try it!”
When you get to the dining area, Choso pulls your seat out for you so you can sit down. It’s only as Yuji emerges from the kitchen that Choso notices the third placemat and dining set is now missing. Yuji beams when he sees you, coming to sit in the seat across from you.
“Hi! I’m Yuji.”
You introduce yourself to Yuji as well, smiling when Yuji proceeds to tell you how much Choso talks about you and how happy he looks lately. He showers you with compliments on your looks and Choso wonders where the hell all this charm came from. Certainly not from Choso’s side of the family.
“Thank you, Yuji. You’re so sweet. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name. Your brother talks about you all the time.”
Yuji rolls his eyes, feigning annoyance. “He’s just a little obsessed.”
You laugh, because you’d agree. Choso loves his brothers more than anything in this world. It’s obvious. But it’s adorable. Something you really like about him.
“He just really cares about you. That’s all.”
“You’re not eating with us?” Choso asks suddenly, probably sounding a lot more disappointed about it than he intended.
Yuji smiles sadly. “Sorry, big bro. Nobara and Fushiguro invited me out while I was cooking. I didn’t want to say anything before but…” he looks between you and Choso. “If I had to choose between third wheeling with my friends or you two, I’m gonna choose them.”
Choso doesn’t miss how Yuji just so happens to use the nickname he’s always begging his little brother to call him. It’s his weak spot and Yuji knows it, knows he’ll get away with anything as long as he calls Choso his big bro.
Choso nods. “Have fun. Don’t stay out too late or I’ll send Eso to get you.”
Yuji scowls, muttering about how embarrassing Eso is before he stands. His expression shifts into a grin and he claps his hands together. “I really put my all into this dinner so I hope you both enjoy! Eat it while it’s hot! It was nice meeting you.”
“You, too, Yuji. Have fun with your friends.”
The front door closes shortly after. Choso sighs, taking your hand in his.
“I’m sorry,” he frowns. “I said you’d meet my brothers and all plans fell through.”
You reach a hand forward and cup Choso’s face, your thumb gently caressing over the tattooed line on that side. “Choso, it’s okay. As long as I get to spend time with you, I don’t mind.”
Choso beams, leaning forward to press a quick kiss to your lips. “You’re too good to me.”
You shake your head. “You’re too good to me.”
----------
Dinner goes well. The food is spectacular. Choso can’t wait to tell Yuji how much you enjoyed the food. You and Choso in deep discussion while washing dishes together about the third Cheetah Girls movie and why it’s your least favorite, save for a few songs. It’s oddly domestic. He has many opinions on the breakup of the group, but promises to save that discussion for later.
Choso talks about his competitions, you congratulating him on how well he’s been doing. It makes his cheeks burn red with embarrassment and happiness all at the same time. He offers to show you his trophies once you’re finished cleaning up and you happily accept the invitation.
After drying the last dish, Choso leads you to his bedroom to show you some of his favorite competition wins. They line the built-in wall shelves. Choso grabs the trophy he’d won at the televised event where he’d essentially confessed to you on live tv from the shelf.
You take a seat on the edge of Choso’s bed, as he wanders over with it. He watches as you bring your arms above your head, stretching your back and Choso has to turn his gaze away from you briefly. You make the most mundane actions look so enticing and it drives him crazy how much he wants you. He wants more than just kisses, more than just holding hands.
Choso clears his throat before he turns his gaze back to you and holds the trophy up. “I think this one’s my favorite,” he tells you. “For obvious reasons.”
You smile bashfully. “I think that’s my favorite, too.”
He places the trophy back in its spot before he crosses the room again and sits next to you on his bed, leaning back to prop himself up on his elbows. You place your hand on Choso’s thigh, patting lightly and his bodily response is immediate, the earlier throbbing now making its presence known again. Choso sits up quickly, clearing his throat.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks and you nod, closing the distance with an “of course” before your lips are on his. The hand on his thigh runs gently along the length of his quad, making his breaths come a little more rapidly with each kiss. Choso’s large hand comes up to grip the back of your neck, deepening the kiss. It’s hungry, all tongue and soft sighs into each other's mouths as your lips caress.
When you finally pull away, Choso finds himself chasing your lips with a quiet whimper.
“Thank you so much for dinner, Choso. Everything was great and I had a really good time,” you tell him.
Choso leans forward, presses his forehead to yours. “You sound like you’re about to head out.”
“I don’t want to overstay my welcome,” you whisper and there’s a hint of sadness in your voice.
“Baby,” he mutters softly. “You could never.” He ghosts his lips over yours, placing soft pecks to the corners of your mouth. “Stay as long as you want. I like having you here.”
“Choso…” you breathe against him, the hand on his thigh squeezing gently. “If I stay…”
He trails kisses along your jaw, featherlight, so soft you can barely feel it. And yet, your chest rises and falls rapidly with each breath. “If you stay?”
You sigh, pulling back. You’re no doubt trying to change the subject with some excuse to run out of here. “I’m just really tired. Prepping for this shoot has been draining the shit out of me. Tonight has been amazing. I just don’t want to bring the mood down with how stressed I am.”
Choso hums, nodding, eyes now fixed on the spot where your hand rests. “Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?”
The pause is long as he awaits your answer, the heat of your hand radiating through the fabric of Choso’s pants and making the throbbing between his legs even worse, if possible. You watch Choso closely, eyes following where his dark orbs are focused on.
“I don’t know…” you mutter softly, fingers lightly squeezing Choso’s thigh. He bites back the low groan threatening to escape. His gaze drifts up to your glossed lips.
“Well, how do you usually relieve stress?” Choso asks, the heat quickly pooling in his center as your hand coasts along his thigh.
You give him a knowing look, biting down on your bottom lip. He understands.
“I have an idea,” He responds quietly, shifting on the bed.
“What’s your idea?”
He wants to kiss you again, feel your mouth against his. He always wants to kiss you. Ever since he met you, it’s been all he’s done. Of course Choso wants to do more with you. He fantasizes about it. But he told you he’d wait for you to make a choice first. He didn’t want to make you feel like he only wanted sex from you, the way he made you feel.
But, while sex isn’t the only thing he wants, he does want it. When he sees the tip of your pink tongue dart out to swipe across your bottom lip, he can only hope you’re both thinking the same thing.
“I want you,” he blurts out, unable to hold back his honesty.
“Choso…” you sigh his name and it only makes him want you more. “ I want you, too.”
“I know I said there’s no rush for sex, but it doesn’t mean we can’t do other things.”
You bite your lip again, eyes searching Choso’s. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, but for purely selfish reasons if I’m being honest.”
You cock your head to the side in confusion.
“Making you feel good will make me feel good,” he explains.
You nod, giving Choso the green light. “Okay.”
He scoots back to lay on his bed, pulling you along with him. “Come here, baby,” he coaxes as he lays down on his back. His hands find your hips, positioning you so that you’re straddling his chest.
“Closer,” Choso says, his thumbs tracing circles on your hips.
“Okay,” you murmur, scooting forward until your plush thighs are on either side of his head. His hands slide down your hips, to the hem of your dress that’s already ridden up enough that Choso can catch a peek of your panties.
“Can I?” He asks, pinching the hem of the fabric between his fingers.
“Yes, Choso,” you pant in anticipation.
He peels your dress up, getting a full view of your core. Your panties hug your pussy so nicely, a small wet spot from your arousal forming right in the center. Choso wants nothing more than to bury his face between your legs, have you crying out his name over and over, give you everything you want and more. But instead he turns his head to the side and presses a tender kiss to the inside of one of your thighs, then turns his head to do the same to the other. The sound of your breath hitching in your throat makes Choso pause.
“Is this okay?”
You nod, your hand coming down to comb your fingers through his hair. It makes him shiver, makes his cock stiffen further. “It’s fine. I’m fine, Choso. Make me feel good.”
Fuck, the reassurance only makes him harder, lets him know he doesn’t need to hold back anymore. But he still nods, wraps his arms around your lush thighs, squeezing softly.
He kisses your thighs again, trailing soft touches all the way up to your center, leaving a soft peck directly to that dark little wet spot. He chuckles when you roll your hips forward at the contact, then he trails soft kisses back down your other thigh.
“You’re so pretty like this, baby,” he kisses your center again. “All for me,” he mutters against your undergarments.
Choso pulls back, eyes locked to that sweet spot spreading along the fabric of your panties when he whispers a soft, “Let me take care of you,” and then he’s pulling you down by your thighs, meeting you halfway to latch his hot mouth directly onto your clothed pussy.
A mixture of your moans and Choso’s fill the room, the vibrations shooting straight to your clit. You gasp, rolling your hips forward to grind yourself against Choso’s face, a soft moan rushing past your lips. He lets you ride his tongue, his saliva soaking through the fabric. You taste incredible and he hasn’t even truly experienced you yet.
“Oh my god,” you whine before Choso halts your movements with his hands. He runs his tongue over your panties, long and slow, his hips bucking into the air when the fingers in his hair tighten into a fist, your other hand finding purchase on his headboard. He presses his nose into the center of your panties and inhales deeply, eyes rolling to the back of his head when your sweet aroma fills his senses.
“Fuck, I bet this pussy tastes so good without this in the way.”
You whimper above Choso as he hooks a finger into your panties and pulls them to the side, groaning softly when he finally gets a good look at your cunt, glistening with the mixture of your slick and his saliva. It’s prettier than he could’ve ever imagined. He wants a taste.
His free hand squeezes your thigh lightly just as Choso pushes his tongue between your folds and runs a hot, languid lick up your core. He feels your body shudder above him, his own body following when he finally gets a full taste of you. He gives your clit a small lick before pulling it into his mouth, sucking lightly, unable to keep his hips from thrusting up again when you gasp above him. He moans, the vibration leaving you panting.
“Shit! So good, Choso, that’s so good.”
“Yeah, baby?” He asks, voice muffled as he buries his face in your cunt again, licking and sucking your clit until you’re grinding your own hips down on him.
“Yes, yes, yes! Don’t stop.”
He groans, hands squeezing your thighs to spread them further open for him. His tongue grazes your clit, swirling around the sensitive bud over and over until you’re a whimpering mess above him. You taste better than he could’ve ever imagined – saccharinely sweet. He pulls you forward, your hips bucking when his tongue slips into your entrance. He can feel your walls clench in response, groaning when your knees tighten on each side of his head.
The grip in his hair loosens, your other arm shooting up to grab hold of the headboard with both hands to keep from falling over. Choso thrusts his tongue into your hole, moaning when he feels you moving your hips on your own, fucking yourself on his mouth.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," you cry out.
Choso pulls out of your hole, moving his mouth to wrap his soft lips around your clit again, sucking hard.
"Oh, Choso," you mewl, the new sensation making your grip on the headboard loosen, falling forward onto your hands. The new position gives Choso much better access, his hands letting go of your thighs to cup your ass. With one hand, he spreads one of your cheeks. With the other, he easily slips two fingers into your sopping hole.
“Fuuuuuck,” Choso moans into your cunt when he feels your tight pussy clench down on his fingers. He loves making you feel good, having you moaning and whining but, goddamn, he’s so hard, he’s thrusting into the air, trying and failing to find any sort of friction. It’s torturous. He can feel his erection, painful and sticky in his pants. He’ll definitely have to take care of himself after you’re gone.
Choso curls his fingers, smirking when he feels your thighs immediately begin to quiver around his head.
“You close?” He asks before pressing the flat of his tongue against your clit just as he curls his digits inside you again.
You don’t even get a chance to answer him, your hands tugging his sheets as they ball into fists. The only sounds that can be heard are your hushed moans that grow gradually louder as you grind your hips down against Choso’s face along with the lewd slurping of Choso’s mouth as he laps up your release. You’re coming undone, walls clenching around his fingers, as your body spasms with your orgasm.
And Choso waits, pumping his fingers into you and gently licking through your folds until he finally feels you relax above him. He pulls his digits out of you, placing a soft kiss to your swollen cunt before he pulls your panties back into place and helps you scoot down his torso until you’re seated on his groin.
You’re watching him close, chest rising and falling as you try to catch your breath, pupils blown with desire. Choso brings his fingers up to his face, spreading and closing them like a pair of scissors, watching the sticky strings of your slick spread between them. His eyes stay locked with yours as he opens his mouth and slides his fingers in, wrapping his lips around them and sucking them clean. He lets them go with a loud pop.
“You taste fucking amazing,” he groans, his hips coming up to grind against your ass.
Your head cocks to the side when you feel his hardness against you. “Looks like you need someone to make you feel good, too.” You suggest, leaning forward to place sweet kisses down Choso’s cheek, his neck and chest. You kiss all the way down his abs and the fire in Choso’s belly grows as you get closer to your destination.
He watches as you slip your hands into the waistband of his pants and pull them off. He moans when you lean forward and press those pretty fucking lips to his throbbing, clothed cock and it’s involuntary, the way his hips come up on reflex.
He groans quietly, watching your lips curl up in a small smirk. You already know the effect you have on him without doing much at all. Minx.
Your eyes lock with Choso’s, hands finding the waistband of his boxers right before you press another hot and tender kiss to his core, Choso’s back arching at the contact.
“Fuck.”
Keep doing that and he’s going to cum in his pants. At this moment he wouldn’t mind. It would be a welcome relief. He’d just have to hope you’d understand if it came to that. You’re just so sexy; a seductress when you want to be. How could he not blow his load when he’s got the perfect view of you right now settled between his legs? Face down, ass up in the air, back arched so he can see those beautiful round cheeks of yours. He kind of regrets opting for not going all the way tonight because he’d love to feel that little pussy contract around his dick like it just did on his tongue not that long ago.
The thought makes his cock jump within the confines of his underwear.
Gaze still glued to Choso’s, you tug lightly at the waistband of his boxers before your soft voice asks, “Can I?”
He doesn’t think about it for a second.
“Do whatever you want,” he tilts his hips up, letting you slide his boxers off for him. “It’s yours, baby.”
His cock springs free with a loud smack against his lower belly. It’s long, thick, with a large vein running right up the underside until it reaches the angry red tip. The entire length is sticky, precum slathered over it. You settle yourself between his legs again as you take in the sight of him exposed to you.
“I want to make you feel good, too.”
You take his length into your mouth before he can argue, your lips closing around the head. “Ah– shit,” Choso grunts, bringing a hand up to the back of your head. From here, Choso thinks he has the perfect view of you. It turns him on beyond measure and he jerks his hips forward, shoving his cock further into your mouth, hitting the back of your throat. “Sorry, fuck. I’m sorry.” He moans, pulling out of your mouth.
You shake your head, waving off his concern. “It’s okay, Choso. I like it.”
You’re back on his dick, humming when Choso fills the cavern of your mouth, the vibrations making him shiver. His hand finds the back of your head again, Choso rolling his hips up so he can shove his cock down your throat again, over and over. And you take it so good, relaxing your throat for him so it’s easy.
“Your mouth feels amazing,” Choso grunts, pumping into you. The sound of his balls slapping against your chin makes his eyes roll back, a pleasure shooting straight up his spine.
It feels so fucking good. Too fucking good.
Yeah, he’s not going to last very long here.
You release his dick, running your tongue along that vein on the underside of his cock, pulling a string of curses from Choso. You lick from the base of his length all the way to the tip, teasing the slit of his cock with your tongue, lapping up the bead of precum that sits there.
"Fuck!"
You kiss down the length of his dick, bringing your attention to his balls, running your tongue right between the two orbs before bringing one into your mouth and sucking. Your hand wraps around Choso’s length, stroking him up and down.
A liquid heat pools in Choso’s core, the threat of his orgasm quickly approaching. He doesn’t want to cum yet. He’s been wanting this for a long time, to be intimate in more ways than just kissing and cuddling. It feels way too good. He wants to savor this. But damn, if you keep going like this–
You wrap your lips around Choso’s cock, taking his entire length in your mouth in one motion. The sudden tight warmth makes Choso’s back arch, has his hands flying to the back of your head to hold you in place.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck. Don’t move, baby,” he pants, holding your face to his groin so he can fuck your throat. And then you open your throat for him, relaxing for just a moment before you constrict around his cock and the sensation that shoots through Choso’s dick makes him pull you back. You let go with an obnoxious pop as Choso grabs the base of his dick.
He can’t stave it off, not when he sees your swollen lips, your tear stained cheeks, the line of drool dangling from your chin.
“Fuck, baby, I can’t. I’m–I’m gonna cum,” he warns.
You lean forward, opening your mouth, tongue hanging out in invitation. “Give it to me, Choso. I want your cum, baby. Gimme all of it.”
God, you’re so fucking sexy.
He feels his balls tighten, feels the rush in the palm of his hand as he pumps his cock, his free  hand coming to hold the back of your head in position before thick, hot spurts of his cum shoot from the tip and paint your tongue white with his seed.
“Oh god,” he groans through gritted teeth. He keeps pumping, watching as you quickly put your tongue back in your mouth and swallow before you stick it back out for him. It’s so much cum and you take it all, swallowing without him even asking you to. Even wrapping your lips around the tip and sucking so you don’t waste a drop.
“You’re so good to me,” Choso whispers when he’s finally emptied his load on your tongue.  Breaths coming rapidly, he watches you climb along the length of his body until you’re face to face. He can smell his release on your breath, and then he’s tasting it when you press an open mouthed kiss to his lips, moaning when he tastes the mixture of his release and yours on his tongue.
“Thank you,” you say after breaking the kiss. “I feel a lot better now.”
Choso chuckles, running his hands along your spine. “Good. Me, too.”
----------
You’re both sitting in the bath Choso has run for you, Choso positioned behind you as he gently lathers your shoulders. You’ll be heading home after this, but Choso wanted to treat you to more relaxation before you left. He also wanted an excuse to spend more time with you because the next time he’d see you would likely be the photoshoot. And as exciting as that was, he had a nagging feeling things would be tense.
“In all seriousness, how are you feeling now?” Choso asks, gently splashing water over your shoulders to rinse the soap off. Your hands swirl the bubbles around in the bath.
“Better. Still a little stressed, but that’s to be expected with everything that goes into prepping for these shoots. Then there’s you and Suguru…”
You cut yourself off.
“What about us?”
“I’m just worried how it’ll go with you both there.”
Choso nods in understanding. He quietly mulls over his thoughts.
“You and Suguru haven’t really been around each other for long periods of time before. These shoots take hours and I just don’t want things to be weird between you two.”
“Did you have this talk with Suguru, too?” He questions, curiously. He should really be the one you're worried.
You nod, leaning back against Choso’s chest. “Of course. He’s the one I’m most worried about causing a scene…That was why we went to lunch together the other day –  to talk about this. He’s really not good with his emotions, but he promised to behave. Said he’s working on accepting that he’s not my only priority anymore.”
Choso chuckles, placing a light kiss to the back of your neck. “Oh? Who else has your attention? Should I be jealous?”
You laugh lightly. “Please. You don’t strike me as the jealous type.”
‘You don’t know me very well, then,’ Choso thinks.
The fact that Suguru gets even a crumb of your undeserved attention drives Choso insane. You’re a toy to him, something for him to keep in his back pocket when he’s bored and needs something to preoccupy his time. He’s not sure how you don’t see it. You’ve mistaken familiarity and comfort with love. It makes sense after suffering through Suguru’s antics for so long.
All this time, Choso’s been passive, playing the long game while Suguru makes an ass of himself time and time again, hoping you’ll see him for the piece of shit he is. But nothing changes. Choso watches and waits, just going with the flow until you finally come to your senses and make the right choice – him. But nothing changes.
Choso leans down, burying his nose in your hair before he places a sweet kiss to your temple.
He won’t sit back anymore.
In this moment of relaxation before everything goes to shit, Choso wraps his arms around you and he decides it’s time to fight.

An intimate lunch
Coming back to this particular C pic, which has sparkled endless comments, today (still very busy days for me & I gave in and binged TCND - this explains the ungodly hour):
Tumblr media
Dots have been connected (there are, after all, alternative Keepers of the Dots, a sobriquet I am therefore relinquishing, thanking again the friend who gifted it to me). And comments -ranging from stan blindness to unreasonable conspiracy theories - have been written too.
Tellingly enough, the wording of the Finch and Partners IG post was quite suggesting: 'an intimate lunch' means more than promo, almost a personal get together with, at the very least, carefully selected people.
Was she coat-tailing? Very probably, to the extent she is understandably interested in getting more acting (directing?) projects after OL. And to make it clear: there is nothing bad to it.
Did she know Cooper before? There is no way in hell to confirm it with 100% accuracy, but my guess is no. Someone, as it has been pointed out, obliged. These are the simple, expected minimum benefits of a PR agent, a Rolodex and of networking. And it is true: she has been consistently on Finch's list and invited at many of their events since at least 2016. Which is to say, since IFH? Oh. OK. No further questions, Your Honor.
Was it a reward for dragging along McIdiot at that Netflix gala, the day before? Even taking into account her visible lack of enthusiasm, I am afraid things are not as simple and mechanic as alternatively dangling the proverbial carrot and stick. It's a quid pro quo, not a reward. A part in a movie would be a reward - not a lunch in town: that would be selling herself very cheaply.
But of course, we are all idiots, as this reaction from a particularly ungifted Mordor pundit would like us to think:
Tumblr media
This post is not about S, of course. And the posited question is a superb logical fallacy: S is 'never invited to any of these events', because his side projects are different and his social media communication strategy is different, too. She was not there because of S and no one on this side of the fandom seriously suggested it.
Also, let's not show more idiocy than you are naturally able of, denizens of Mordor: Cooper did not really need her 1 (one) Academy Awards vote. And do you know why? Well, her vote would not make any serious difference among the 7,999 others, this is why:
Tumblr media
Yes, the Britannica: I know it pisses you, and many other people, mightily off.
But perhaps she was there also because of this?
Tumblr media
Enlighten me, please, since I am such a forgetful idiot, what on Earth might have happened to The Cut? You know, the project she was shooting just before the SAG-AFTRA strike began?
Crickets. And, which is more alarming...
Tumblr media
If proven correct, this IMDb info is not very good news and I would be bereft for her. Honestly. Check the link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26697087/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cl_sm. It lists the entire crew, up to the last best boy. Whatever happened to C's part? Whatever happened to C? The movie is now announced in post-production. Surely we'll know very soon, one way or another. But if her part has been slashed out, it's only normal to be more active and scout any possible project opportunity.
Ultimately, the core problem remains unchanged: since she did not post this picture on her socials, she is still as uninterested in them as she's always been. Always. And sorry for repeating myself, but spare some scarce mention about make-up and attire (presumably to be nice to personal friends), she does not engage with this fandom. At all. That does not leave her stans with many options but to write their own fanfic, while accusing us (who may know a bit more than them, at any rate) of doing the same.
Smart girl, C. I am sure S&C divided their respective roles in the 'Coping with the Narrative' in-house production for a very long time and this is the most important thing of them all. The rest is babble, including this post.

Hi June! I feel so out of place asking for Yelena x Reader lol but I‘ve finished Attack on Titan a week ago and I‘m literally so desperate for this blond coconut head war criminal. I‘ve seen that you write for her and the other anon‘s request was really cute, so I wanted to request Yelena and reader cooking together? Like idk but i headcanon that she can‘t cook at all and always had someone doing it for her? If you don‘t like that, then feel free to ignore my ask. Have a nice day!!!
𝑻𝑨𝑺𝑻𝒀- 𝒀𝑬𝑳𝑬𝑵𝑨 𝑿 𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑫𝑬𝑹
A/N: HELLO HOW COULD I EVER IGNORE THIS CUTE LITTLE IDEA HELLO WHAT?? SAME LIKE I LOVED YELENA SINCE I FOUND OUT AB HER AND THEN I WATCHED S4 AND BUSTED ALL OVER THE SCREEN LIKE SUSJDUJSIS anyway tysm for this idea angel!! ilysm!!
“What do I add to this?” Yelena looked over, her eyes meeting to your busy hands.
You giggle, setting the knife down. “Here, you chop the carrots, i’ll cook this.” You wave Yelena over. Her tall frame pressed your body against the counter, slim fingers grasping around the knife.
You placed your hands on top of hers, slowly moving her hands to show her how to cut the carrots. “Like this. They have to be thin, so they cook thoroughly.” You feel Yelena place her chin on your head. “Uh huh.” She slowly took control. You slid from under her, grabbing the bowl she worked on earlier.
“Did you…wash the rice?” You laugh. “You’re supposed to?” Yelena tilted her head. “Yes, god.” You throw your head back, laughing at her.  You walked to the sink, washing out the rice. Yelena grunted a few times, struggling to cut the carrots the same size as yours.
“Can you flip the chicken?” You hum, pouring the rice into the rice cooker. “How?” “With the tongs?” You hand her the utensil. “Sorry, I'm so used to you cooking.” She smirked. “Well, you gotta learn at some point.” You smile. Yelena scraped the carrots into the boiling water, eyes meeting yours.
“Are you mocking me?” Yelena scoffed. “I don’t know, am i?” You shrug. Yelena’s lips met yours, hands on your waist. She pulled you towards herself, shirt riding over your waist. Yelena slipped her hands inside your shirt, deepening the kiss.
“You’re so sweet.” Yelena mumbled before kissing you again. You open your eyes, pushing her off. “What?” Her eyebrows furrowed. “The chicken!” You yell. “Oh shit.” Yelena laughs, watching as you place the slightly-burnt chicken on a plate. “Stop trying to distract me.” You scoff, shaking your head.
“But you taste so good.” Yelena hugged you from behind, biting your ear softly. “Lena.” You smile, kissing your butt out to push her back. “Okay, I'll get serious.” She laughed, placing a kiss on your neck.

My Problematic Girl - Ch 9 | S.R
Tumblr media
Character: College!Steve Rogers x Rich!Female Reader
Prologue:  Steve has lived being nobody in this prestigious university. He just wants to graduate and get a job to get more money to pay the bills for his mother's surgery. But his life turned upside down when a new student attended his class. His quiet and dull life became dangerous and full of surprises.
×××
She exhaled the cigarette smoke from her lips. She still doesn’t care even though he told her he has asthma.
She looked at Steve and said, “Bark for me.”
Steve felt humiliated, and his pride was crushed. But she held his life and secrets. He had to bury his dignity to the ground, and he murmured,
“Woof.”

“You’re not joking.” Y/N was surprised to see Steve come here the next morning carrying his stuff. She didn’t consider him serious about joining her revenge on Solomon.
“You will stay in that room.” She put her reading glass on the documents and brought him to the guest room.
Steve looked around the guest room. There’s a bed, desk, mirror and wardrobe. He wanted to put his outfit inside the wardrobe, but he saw inside there already someone else outfit; for a glance, he could tell it was a male outfit.
Y/N notices Steve's curiosity since he is stuck looking at the clothes. “It belongs to my friend who sometimes sleeps here if he has a hangover. You can throw it if you want.”
‘She has a friend?’
He was surprised when he heard Y/N had a friend. Probably, he has the same personality as her.
After he had arranged his stuff, Steve opened the fridge to put the food he had brought from his place. He was surprised by what he had seen. He’s poor but will try to buy various groceries like meat, vegetables, and instant food. But inside her fridge, there are a dozen boxes of chocolate milk, and who put a box of mac and cheese in the fridge, and there’s nothing in the freezer.
“This is your food?”
Y/N picked one of the boxes “It already has calcium and vitamins. It’s enough for me.” Besides, Y/N doesn’t know how to cook and only orders a delivery, or Tony will send food to her.
Steve shook his head. “I will go to the supermarket.”
Y/N took a $300 bill from her wallet and put it on the table counter near Steve's “Here.”
Once again, she gave him too much money. But this time, he will spend all of it. After she gave the money, she went back to reading a document.
“What are you doing?”
“Reading my client's request.” She answered without looking at him.
“Oh right, you’re a lawyer, the one who does money laundering.” Steve replied sarcastically.
Y/N chuckled. “You’ll be surprised it’s not just me who does this.”
Steve furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “What kind of lawyer who does money laundering?”
Y/N put a finger on her lips. “Cunning is necessary for this business.”
“Y/N you probably will be the only weirdest lawyer I ever knew.”
She giggled without feeling offended. “Glad to be the only one.”
Tumblr media
Steve went back after he bought the groceries. This is the first time he enjoyed shopping without caring about money. After that, he returned to Y/N's apartment and started to cook dinner.
Y/N wasn’t keen on Steve's idea, “Just order a delivery.”
Steve was cutting the carrots with a knife on the chopping board. The knife he currently uses is of high quality, different from what he had. He wants to use the kitchen applicants in this apartment.
He waved the knife in his hand. “You just got a seizure; you need to eat homemade food. This time, listen to me; I’m holding a knife here.”
At Steve’s threat, Y/N scoffed, “That was the kindest threat that I ever had from someone holding a knife.”
Satisfied with her answer, he continued cooking while Y/N continued her reading.
After a while, Steve finished cooking. He put the chicken soup and garlic butter salmon on the table.
Before he called Y/N, she was already standing looking at the food. For her, it looks weird seeing someone cooking in the kitchen. Before her parents divorced, only her mother enjoyed cooking. Sometimes, she regretted not asking her mother to teach her about cooking. At least she could learn her mother's recipe.
Y/N doesn’t want anyone to touch the kitchen, but seeing Steve looking excited, she doesn’t want to kill his joy.
Both of them eat the food together. There was silence, but it wasn’t awkward. Because they enjoy it, Steve was impressed with the food he made today, and Y/N, it’s been a long time since she ate a simple home-cooked meal that gave her warmth.
When she stayed at Solomon, she couldn’t eat at all; it seemed like she got a stomachache every day. It is caused by stress. Since then, it’s easier for Y/N to drink milk than eating any foods.
Y/N put down the food utensils. “Thank you for the food.”
Still eating, Steve widened his eyes; he didn’t expect her to say thanks. “No worries. Thank you for letting me use the kitchen.”
Y/N hummed. She carried her plates to the sink and washed them. “I forgot to mention, you could use the kitchen, TV, and the space if you want to paint.”
Steve stared at her. Is it his illusion? Did he just see her being kind to him?
Tumblr media
Steve was watching the TV in the living room. He wasn’t interested at first, but he always wanted to know how it felt like to watch a football game on 75-inch TV. When he turned it on, it was marvellous. His eyes were glued to it.
While watching, he smelled perfume from behind; he turned around and saw Y/N wearing a dress for a party. But why she’s carrying a gym bag? It doesn’t go well together.
“I'm going out tonight, don’t wait for me.”
“Where are you going? Don’t forget not to drink any alcohol.”
Y/n rolled her eyes. She closed the door and left. She is always like this, being secretive.
*******
At night, Steve was awake by a sound. It’s not loud, but the sound keeps repeating. He couldn’t recall the sounds, but he felt familiar.
Does it mean Y/N has come back?
He opened the door and saw Y/N sitting in the living room, her hands counting money. The sound he heard was from the money-counter machine. And the gym bag is beside her, but now there’s a lot of money inside the bag.
He rubbed his eyes. Is he dreaming or what?
Y/N felt someone was watching her. She lifted her head, and there he was, her new housemate. He looks dumbfounded, like a lost rabbit who enters the wolf’s den.
“What’s that?”
Y/N stared at Steve expressionlessly. It made him uncomfortable. Is this a borderline he couldn't cross? He should’ve stayed asleep and ignored her.
But then suddenly, Y/N called out his name, “Stevie. You’re really cute as shit.”
Steve was dumbfounded; in which part he’s cute?
Y/N tapped the stack of money on the table. “In front of you is what $500,000 in cash looks like.”
"Bank still opens at night?"
She chuckled while counting the money. "Don't be silly, I got this from gambling."
Her tone was playful, but he didn’t find this funny at all. Steve crossed his arms. When he thought she was good, the next thing she did always shocked him. He wondered if staying with her would be fine for his heart.
"Y/N, you play a dangerous game."
Y/N nodded, agreeing with what he said. She stops counting and looks at him, “You see, Steve. There's something wrong with me. I don't feel scared, guilt, lust and love. I love the adrenaline of taking a big risk.”
“I could see that.”
“You remembered my ex?”
The only man who made her uncomfortable was Brock Rumlow. Steve nodded.
“When we were together, I didn’t feel anything. And I think Brock knew that’s why he got another woman.”
Y/N liked being with Brock, but she noticed she didn’t feel any lust for him. She doesn’t want to kiss him or sleep with him. She tried using porn, a smut novel and even went to a strip club, but she doesn’t feel any lust.
She went to the doctor and learned she was diagnosed with impotence or female sexual dysfunction (FSD). The doctor knew Y/N's history, and she told her that her childhood trauma caused this.
Yeah, no shit.
“But I felt something when I saw your drawing, even though it's just a brief moment.”
Steve felt embarrassed when she mentioned the adult comic he made. Since he got paid, he didn’t continue the story. But what she said next made him want to dig the ground and hide.
“From the website, only your work triggered my lust.”
Y/N didn’t understand the reason why. She went to the doctor again and learned about Stendhal’s syndrome is a collection of intense physical and mental symptoms people may experience while or after viewing a work of art.
How lucky she was when she found out the comic creator was sitting beside her at Starks University.
Steve hides his red face with his hands. “Don't you feel any shame talking about this?”
She shrugged her shoulder. “Like I said before, I don't feel anything. I'm not embarrassed.”
“That's why you don't feel guilty for blackmailing me.”
Y/N smiled broadly. “You seem like the easy type to be bullied.”

(What the frick is the bat guy about???)
They did serious damage to Lexy’s credit card in the form of a cast iron pan, a pot, basic cooking utensils and a four-person set of dishware before they even made it to the grocery store.
Peter tried not to go nuts there. He really did. But Kon had that empty kitchen! And to be honest, shopping was major wish fulfillment. Even though he knew he wouldn’t be eating all of the food he got way into it. They stocked up on easy freezer food like pizza rolls and fries. They got pasta mixes and jarred sauces and they got snacks and sweets. He even got Kon baking basics. It might take Kon a while to get into his fresh bread era, but it was going to happen. Peter was calling it now. Kon was just that kind of guy.
The last thing he got was meat. Meat and cheese and fresh vegetables. Peter ended up putting back half of what he initially put in the cart because, honestly, Kon didn’t have a massive super appetite and he didn’t know how to cook yet. Vegetables were just going to go bad, so he only got what he planned to use that night. He also stocked Kon up on breakfast supplies- bread and jam, eggs, sausage, coffee and tea and juice.
‘I wish I was staying with Kon to eat this. I’m going to be hungry again tomorrow.’
Peter pushed down that greedy little thought where it belonged. He was going to be eating lunch and dinner with Kon tonight, since they were cooking together. That was already really generous on Kon’s part. He couldn’t ask for more.
The boys ended up making spaghetti. Peter wasn’t the best cook in the world, but he could cut onion and garlic to cook meat in, shred in carrots and zucchini, and add a jar of red sauce to make something nutritionally dense that tasted really good. Kon hovered over his shoulder watching this process and making faux sports commentary.
“Go away!” Peter shoved Kon with his shoulder, laughing. “Go start the garlic bread.”
“...Garlic bread?” Kon asked hopefully. He seemed way younger than he was sometimes. “You can make that at home?”
“You can, if you get to cutting garlic really small.” Peter tossed him a bulb without looking.
They ate dinner while watching some drama that Kon picked out on a streaming service. “Holy shit,” Kon said quietly after his first bite. He put down the plate and took a photo.
Peter snorted. Kon must have sent it to someone because his phone went off constantly after that.
He wasn’t even done eating their late lunch when he first wondered where he was going to sleep tonight. Peter stared down into his pasta like it might have some answers. When should he leave? What would he say if Kon asked for his phone number? He didn’t have one. He couldn’t give Kon the number to the phone he had on him– he was pretty sure that he really should get rid of it in case someone was tracking him.
He should ask first. If he directed the conversation it would be easier to be normal than if he was just answering questions. So Peter swallowed hard, made himself smile, and said, “This was fun. Wanna hang out again?”
Kon noisily slurped down some sauce and wiggled in place while he chewed and swallowed. “Yeah, we should!” he agreed. “You uh, free later this week?”
He was jobless and homeless with no other acquaintances.
“I have some time,” Peter said casually. “I’m kinda busy tomorrow, but the day after? Should I come over in the afternoon?”
“Yeah!” Kon bounced up off his seat for a moment. “We can finish the projects. Or work on them, at least.” He screwed his face up with a thought. “Can I get your handle or number, in case my work pops up?”
Peter’s smile turned fixed. “Actually, not now,” he said as casually as he could manage. “I dropped my phone in water. I just have my Dad’s old phone right now for emergencies.” He didn’t need to add that lie, but what if he needed to pull out the flip phone later? He didn’t want Kon to think that he just hadn’t wanted to give his number.
Kon laughed. “That sucks, man,” he empathized.
Oh thank Thor, he bought it.
The fabric was dry by then, so Peter helped Kon cut it out and sew it into place. Kon modeled his new look in the living room and then took approximately two hundred selfies while Peter worked on his project. Kon eventually flopped down on the sofa upside down and started sketching out design ideas. Peter glanced over and saw what looked like a boob window cut into some kind of top.
…Kon would look great in it. Peter didn’t comment. He smiled a little more when he went back to cutting out pieces for his own jacket.
“Smile!”
Peter looked over on reflex and cheesed. A shutter went off. “Can I send that to my friends?” Kon asked, so casually that Peter knew it mattered a lot. “Cassie says no way did I meet someone without her.”
“Go ahead.” Peter gave a thumbs up for reasons even he did not understand. Good thing he wasn’t a weird little guy!
Kon looked relieved. There was less tension when he went back to looking at his phone. “Thanks, man. You want to think about dinner soon? You’ve been working for a couple of hours.”
Peter had to blink a few times to process that. Oh yeah, he was pretty stiff. He stretched experimentally. “You’re right,” he said, mildly surprised. “Huh. What did you have in mind?”
Kon shrugged. “Pizza?”
Peter hummed. “We can pull that off,” he decided. “We have… two more jars of marinara, one will do. Cheese, the bell peppers- yeah, that’ll work.” He stood in a smooth movement. “Could you get the flour down from where we put it- yeah, thanks.” Kon hovered back down and handed him the bag.
“I meant that we should order it,” Kon said, but he didn’t protest. “You can make pizza? At home?” He was delighted by this new information.
“You can make basically anything at home,” Peter said, because it apparently needed to be said. “Can you look up a pizza dough recipe?” He got out the salt and tried to remember where he’d put yeast.
Pizza did not go quite as smoothly as the pasta had. Kon brutalized the dough by over mixing it and the gluten developed bonds strong enough to rival the Hulk. But it was still edible! Kon was openly delighted with what he had made. Peter stole sideways glances at him, wondering if he should reassure that it was a great first try.
‘..I’m not sure he knows that it’s really tough,’ Peter decided. He said nothing. They watched one episode of Kon’s selected drama before Peter decided it was time to go.
Kon seemed surprised when Peter said that. He blinked at him a few times. “It felt like I was at the tow- a sleepover,” he said self consciously. He forced a laugh. “Yeah. You wanna leave your stuff here?”
Peter looked around Kon’s surgically clean living room and wondered if Lexy’s cleaning staff would throw away his stuff. “Yeah, sure,” he said, because it wasn’t like he had a place to store a project. “I appreciate that.”
He left not much later, making his excuses and backing out into the night with dread that he didn’t want to face curling in his gut. The feeling intensified as he got down to the lobby of Kon’s apartment building.
It was dark out, even with the streetlights on. The air was cold against his face. Peter huddled into his jacket, hand wound tightly around the strap of the bag with everything he owned in it.
At least he knew the time. It was a little past 10 pm.
He needed a shower and to sleep. The gym should be empty now. He could break back in, shower, and then go sleep on the library couch again. Even if the librarian came in early again, he could get a few hours of sleep.
He woke up again to the sound of keys in the door downstairs. This time he woke up feeling much better rested. Peter wandered blearily until he found a clocktower and realized it was nearly 9 am. Nice. He was working on his sleep debt, then. He surely hadn’t spent more than an hour between traveling to the gym, showering, and getting to the couch last night. That was maybe 9.5, 10 hours of sleep?
He left to a new hotel for a breakfast buffet. This one was particularly sad. He had two pieces of peanut butter toast and a glass of milk before he heard the front door staff quietly phone someone else asking if they had any teenagers staying at the moment. He left pretty quickly after that and walked for a while, heart pounding. The police didn’t descend on him with sirens and lights, so he was probably okay.
‘I can’t go back there.’
Later that day, Peter grimaced and took a moment to indulge in burying his face in his hands. He was overwhelmed and he still felt shitty and dirty and gross despite his shower. Maybe it was getting spotted as a homeless teen eating from the buffet? Yeah. Probably that.
He was in the library again, sitting in front of one of the older computers and hoping he'd get a reply from a potential client who had asked for some information.
Maybe it was a little weird to spend all day in the library. He was on notice for librarians acting like they wanted him to clear out, just in case.
But, assuming no one had any problems with it, why not spend most of his daylight hours there? He could study computer science, use the computers to do his work, and be somewhere temperature controlled for free. They also had pitchers of coffee and tea for free that he took advantage of.
He was hungry, though. He was always hungry. Maybe it had been a mistake to go to Kon’s house. It almost felt worse to be hungry again after eating everything he wanted two meals in a row. Peter suppressed despair. He was doing his best! He was taking care of himself.
"Is everything alright?"
Peter shot up and gave a sheepish grin to the librarian. He hadn't noticed her approaching, but he'd been lost in his head. "It's fine," he said.
The older woman gave him a sympathetic smile. "Well, let me know if there's anything I can help with. It's what I'm here for."
Oh. Before she could turn away he blurted out, "College!"
Her face lit up. "Are you applying?"
"I need to." Peter wrung his hands together. "But I don't know where to start. I want to go somewhere with a strong sciences program but I think I need to go there on scholarship."
She sat down beside him, an easy smile on her face like this was a topic that she enjoyed. “Do you care about where it is?”
Peter shook his head. “It would be best if I could stay in NYC since I know here, but I’m willing to go anywhere that meets those conditions.”
She nodded slowly. “There’s a few places I can think of.” She hesitated. “Do you expect to be eligible for testing related scholarships?”
“Yeah,” said Peter, who was so good at tests but would probably falsify the results that he needed if he didn’t manage to take tests in time. “I test well. Very well.”
“That’s great! And you said sciences? Technological sciences?” she didn’t glance at his current computer science book, but she didn’t have to.
“Yes,” he said, not entirely sure what he should be focusing on. Engineering, to build some kind of portal? Astrophysics like Dr. Foster, to find an Einstein-Rosen bridge? He’d have to get his foot in the door to figure out what was going on in the fields here. Shit, he should have looked into that already.
“And you would be looking to live by yourself, on campus? Or off? With family?”
“By myself,” Peter said, and wow that was depressing. “And whichever way is cheapest.” He cringed as he said it. That felt pathetic too. He wanted to say he wanted to live on campus since he’d be more likely to meet people that way. But honestly, he had no resources, at all. He couldn’t afford to be picky.
The librarian’s smile was a bit fixed now. “I… I almost hate to suggest it, but have you considered Gotham?” She continued before Peter had to decide whether or not he should admit he didn’t know that university. “It’s a dangerous city to live in, but it’s very affordable, and there’s extensive funding for the sciences and student support services.”
“...Because it’s a dangerous city and doesn’t get many people?” Peter confirmed.
She was doing her best to keep a poker face. “That’s right. They have a brain drain situation at the moment, so the sciences are really well funded. I think you could probably go there with full support, though that might be contingent on taking an internship or job in Gotham after graduation.”
Huh. He considered it. He’d never heard of Gotham, so it had to be a city that didn’t exist back home. But so what? How bad could it be? It was like, Chicago or something? He could handle that. He was Spiderman. He was an Avenger, sort of. So he directed a real smile at the librarian. “If I could get a full scholarship there, I would go in a heartbeat,” Peter said. “Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look into the university there.”
The librarian patted the side of his chair as she stood up. “Wonderful! Let me know if you change your mind or have any questions!”
He ended up having a lot of questions, actually, once he started looking into Gotham, but he didn’t think, “What the frick is the vampire bat guy about?” was what she’d had in mind.

Step siblings spending time with you day! (ft: kazuha, kamisato siblings, ragnvindr brothers. <bonus character: xiao, scaramouche>)
Tumblr media
Kazuha
Free man indeed. I feel like everyday is spending time together with siblings when it comes to him.
U can't tell me he hands you a bug u didn't like to scare you, then he'll share a fact about them to make it less scary, though you still fear them u will try to overcome ur fear by coming closer to the bug while kazuha hiding behind a tree smiling.
Let you go on a adventure on a ship with beidou if u behave (you behave all the time and you often see beidou.)
Carry you randomly just to hear you whine about you being embarrassed to be piggy back by their older brother.
He won't ever use "step siblings" on you when he's introducing you to his friend.
"this is my siblings___" :D
"you two don't even look alike--"
"they're my siblings." :)
"whoa okay okay, they're ur siblings I guess."
Kamisato ayaka and ayato
"don't steal their boba ayato! We buyed you 2.."
You can't tell me (again) that he doesn't bully you to see you cry for fun. (typical brother)
Ayato probably dressed you up in a weird combo clothes and call it a unique style.
"thoma, great time. Take a good look at the clothes combo I did to __"
"o-oh waka, it looks amazing."
"im gonna be the greatest model in the future!!"
"oh yes you will"
Thoma made a doll that looks like you, ayato and ayaka and now it's your toys.
"im sorry ___ I'm not really the best at making dolls.." (hes lying)
"mine now." yes and now it belongs to you. Not even ur siblings can touch them.
Though they're so busy dealing with the clan, they would do anything to spend time with their little siblings.
Kaeya & diluc
Kaeya? Bully? Absolutely but yk he also pampered you. He likes to bite that mochi cheek of yours.
"what's for dinner?" diluc said confused since it's kaeya who wana cook dinner.
"today is a special menu. I introduce you... ____ chicken roast!"
(you dressed up like a chicken with carrot and a potato on ur hands)
"first of all, where did u get that costum- nvm don't ANSWER it. Second.. I thought u were gonna be serious about the dinner stuff. I even send adelinde home early today."
"oh..."
"oh oh! Maybe diluc can cook!!" you suggest.
"only this time."
Diluc? No he won't let you enter the tavern at all. After all you are still underage. "aww... Why does floaty cute paimon get to get inside while I can't ?!"
"because I trust her friend, traveler that she won't be drinking. Even paimon herself said she don't drink and only drink apple juice or sweet drink."
"so you don't trust me..?" oh god the guilt tripping...
"i- uh.... Ugh fine. You better behave or ill send jean to look after you." you giggled and nodded. Holding ur big brother hand to get inside made him smile.
If diluc is not available then kaeya is. If both of them are not available you would be sitting in a living room with adelinde comforting you. While they're doing their own work, they can't help but feel uneasy. Like something is missing. And that's where it hit them. It's siblings spend time together day.
Diluc was fast to get home since he can rely on his worker to cover his job, meanwhile kaeya would speed up and finish his work asap and went back home. There he will see diluc terribly comforting you while he took a deep breath and ready to spend a day with both of you.
Bonus!
Xiao
Siblings spend time together day? Absurd. Why would an adeptus let go of his work just to spend time together with you?
"brother.. where are we going?" you ask curious. "somewhere." - -
No no that won't work. They might be traumatised if they saw me kill some lame hilichurls. So what did he do? Put blindfold on you.
No!!! Ugh I am not having any idea. Why does this day even exist I can just send them to hu tao but no, hu tao will do a massive chaos if ____ is with her.
Ah. "lets play a game. Whoever got to Mr zhongli first can get free ice cream." i can't believe I said this but who am I kidding it's a child I'm taking care of. "okay! I'm gonna beat you!!"
"okay, ready? 3..2-" there you go with ur little leg running towards Mr zhongli. "hey I didn't even count to 3 yet-" but. I couldn't say that out loud, seeing them running to Mr zhongli kinda make me relaxed a bit. All these years I've been slaying demons and not once I've ever thought about smiling on a mortal doing silly thing just for an ice cream.
Just as he was about to walk towards you, you happen to trip on some random rock (zhongli go get ur rock). Not thinking at all he dashed towards you grabbing you throwing you up in the sky before catching you.
Never thought an adeptus could do something like that..
"never. Never again. Be careful ____! You could've gotten hurt if me or Mr zhongli isn't here. It's not like I'd leave you alone but still."
"hehe again brother again!" what. "what no! That's dangerous."
After alot of begging he throw u up in the sky with a permission of Mr zhongli. You could see the beautiful view from up there. Your eye shine and you were never been happier.
None of you want this to end. <3
Scaramouche
Siblings spending time together day? Who is he kidding. He is NOT doing that.
"brother you look funny with a mask and a hat! Here let me help you." you said as you take his hat and put it on ur head. "that's just an excuse to take my hat huh."
"can we go to that dango shop? I've seen people eat it and I wana try it!" you take his hand and ran towards the shop. "and who's gonna pay for it huh brat?" both of you know its just his ego personality. He doesn't mean that word. "you of course!" you smiled. That once a smile that made his own mother disowned him. Ridiculous.
"hey are you okay? Did he do anything bad to you?" a random guy ask you. "I'm okay??" you are so damn confused but your brother scaramouche seem to get that alot. Separate. That's what he's trying to do.. Dirty little shit.
"hey ____ take this mora and buy me and you a balloon." he said as you nodded. Scaramouche and him watch you skip a step to the guy who sell balloon.
"care to explain on why would you say that to them?" demanding him to speak but that guy seem not to get a hint that he's in fact a harbingers. Eleven fatui harbingers to be put? How dare he talk back to scaramouche. He even dare to look down on him.
"you treat them like a toy. Nobody treat a kid like that! You better walk away before I call a soldier to make you go away from that innocent child."
.....
"you are ruining them."
Snap. That's it. He waste no time and take his hand to a place with least people. "listen here. I didnt know you were so bold to talk to a in fact a harbingers with this manner. And I didn't even know you had the nerve to look down on me as if I was a pathetic shit to you. They're my siblings. If you or ur man land a hand on them you won't be seeing sun nor star."
Scaramouche face expression soon turn satisfied when he piss himself like a 8 year old kid would after getting spanked by their mother.
He came back and see you sitting on a bench with a sad face. "what's the long face huh.."
"you were gone without me! I don't wana be apart from you not even a second!!" you huffed. He was mute for a second before he smirk. "silly brat, I would never go anywhere without you. Just now someone want to talk to me which I end up yelling at them for ruining the moment I am having with my little siblings."
"can you imagine? 'sir, we need you' and I don't. I dont need them and they better be begging more if they rlly want me to come but no they gave up so soon." (I'm targeting you scaraboobs nations /hj)
You smile turn into laugher. "you're the best brother I could ever ask for!" you hugged him as he took ur hat off before hugging you back. "i know."
Hello! It seem that you have reach the end of this headcanon. I do hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy writing this. I am opening a request where u could request me some platonic hc! I accept every character, so you wouldn't have to worry about ur fav character not being there.
Well since you also read that, how about a follow? No pressure of course. Hehe <3 have an amazing day/night on wherever you are, a reminder that you are incredibly awesome and I hope you will be happy until the end.

CHWHWN: 15. December - "a meal"
Tumblr media
Kacchan: wtf Why? Deku: hahah what is it Kacchan: *image attached* I don't know what I find weirder. Eating somewhere else with you or eating something you claim to have cooked Deku: I have my rice thingy!! And I can cut potatoes and fry meat too ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ Kacchan: Equating frying meat with cutting potatoes is a red flag in itself Deku: Why? Kacchan: 'Why' he asks What do you want to cook? Curry? Deku: What do you want to eat? Kacchan: Curry. Deku: Ah. Ok. Curry then i guess haha Today? Kacchan: Today is Friday Deku: Shit, it's movie night. Well, then… Tomorrow? Evening? I think some of the others are home for the weekend. Or are we going to cook for everyone? Kacchan: No You and me on Saturday. I'll buy the meat. Deku: Then I'll buy the potato. Kacchan: And the rest Carrots Celery Onions Paprika chili pepper Curry cubes And not just one potato, you total culinary catastrophe!!!!!!! Deku: hm hm Watch out, bold question: Shall we go shopping together? Not the meat, Your Highness, but the rest? Kacchan: Would probably be for best …did you actually get everything you needed yesterday? There were only Doritos in the picture. Deku: Yes! And I wanted to ask something... What did you delete? Kacchan: If it was any of your business, it would still be there Deku: ಥ_ಥ
"We could have just cooked together, you know," Izuku pointed out, standing in the doorway with his arms full of bags of chips, pretzel sticks and crackers. Kacchan stood in front of him, scanned the selection and then picked out the Doritos, not caring if anything else fell out of his arms. But that didn't happen. "I know," he replied slowly, tucking the bag under his arm and licking his gums thoughtfully, "but it felt like shit knowing you all hang out together every fucking Friday. While I'm alone in my room." Izuku's eyes widened and he fought off a serious wave of pity. "That's actually the time you go to sleep…" he started to explain, but it sounded a bit pale on his tongue, "But we should have asked more often. I'm sorry." "Not your fault." … He closed his mouth and blinked at the boy in front of him, stunned. He was right, it wasn't his fault. But Izuku had the feeling that less than a month ago, he was to blame for EVERYTHING that went wrong in Kacchan's life. "The idiots accepted it too," he finally said, curling the corners of the chip bag and the second wave of pity hit Izuku harder than the first. "I'll ask you next time, Kacchan. Even if we just go to the mall after school." "You and your nerd gang?" Izuku nodded, thinking that the prospect of eating frozen yogurt at the mall with him and Shouto and Iida Tsuyu and Ochako wasn't something Kacchan would want to be a part of at all. "Yeah. We usually go when a new place opens. Last time it was churros. Before that, frozen yogurt. But it's just me and-" "Cool." "C-cool?" "Yeah," he growled into his face, then finally took a step back, leaving enough room for Izuku to step out of the space between Kacchan's solid body and the door, "Better than meeting at the arcade every other weekend and spending a bunch of money on stuffy air and empty hands." "Oh," Izuku breathed, blinking sideways, "that sounds really… not very smart." Kacchan reached behind him to close the door before Izuku could try to do that with a sleeve or an elbow. His internal mountain of astonishment and admiration grew with each of these actions. Kacchan carried the chips Izuku had bought for him in his arms and had picked him up from his room on the way to the common room. Besides, he assumed that their little conversation had led to the idea that Izuku would ask Kacchan… if he wanted to accompany them (HIM AND HIS FRIENDS, not particularly cool or badass!!) into the city. Right? He cleared his throat and started walking, "Just to make sure…" "Do you know the Nikoman booth? At the end of the main street by the library?" "Ugh. Yeah." "Dad told me they're going to add grilled meat and spareribs to the menu in the new year." ... if Izuku's arms weren't full, he would have squealed into his hands like a toddler at Christmas. That was the sweetest 'I want to be part of it' Izuku had ever heard. As it was, he could only bite his lips and watch Kacchan with raised eyebrows and eyes full of devotion as he grumpily finished his thought: "That would be something similar, wouldn't it? It's not a new place, but the menu-"
"Absolutely!" he interrupted him and Kacchan looked up as they reached the landing side by side.
His ears were red. A corner of his chip bag was suspiciously black. "This is definitely worth a visit," he repeated, and to relieve Kacchan of some of his tension, he awkwardly raised his overloaded arms: "My elbows still hurt from the day I fell down the stairs."
Red eyes flitted over his fingers and the many bags, "not to mention my back..."
Their eyes met.
"Could you maybe help me?"
Izuku saw that Katsuki took a deep breath. In a way that showed how agitated he actually was. But the moment passed quickly and he lifted enough of Izuku's burden that he could see the stairs at his feet and slowly began to walk down to the common room.
Kacchan followed at a minimal distance, but quickly caught up with him as Izuku threw him a fond, affectionate grin.
Every day felt more and more like… progress. Hope filled him to the tip of his nose and made his heart tingle for the rest of the evening.

Hi ! I am so sorry for the late update, college has been kicking my ass :( but here we go !! I hope you’ll like this chapter ^^ please if you could reblog or comment it would mean the world ! I think Tumblr ate this post :(
Tumblr media
Fawn steps inside the restaurant, relieved at the way the chill of the outside is suddenly cut short by the door closing behind her. She sighs, enjoying the warmth seeping into her skin. Her fingers feel frozen, even despite the mittens she put on before going out.
A waiter greets her courteously. She tells him she’s joining a friend, and gives him the name for the reservation.
It’s a fancy restaurant, but not too fancy. The kind normal people will go to when they want to treat themselves without spending all their savings on the meal, where, typically, Fawn doesn’t feel underdressed with her simple attire. It was too cold outside for her to be able to put anything on than blue jeans and a white turtleneck. Her long black coat does fancy it up a bit, though.
The waiter leads her to her table. Her friend/colleague Violet is already seated. She smiles widely when she sees Fawn stop in front of her, rising to kiss her on the cheek.
“Hi”, Fawn says, softly, detaching herself from her embrace. She pulls off her grey beanie, and then her coat, draping them on her chair, and sits down in front of Violet.
“How are you, baby ?” Violet asks, sipping on a glass of red wine. She looks sheepish, then. “Sorry, I hope you don’t mind, I ordered wine without you.” She raises a hand to catch the waiter’s attention.
“Oh, I’ll take the same thing, please”, Fawn tells him.
“It’s been a long time since we went out for a meal”, Violet continues. “Or drinks. Or shopping. Or anything, really. You’re always busy. Found some new friends ?”
Fawn’s traitorous thoughts take her almost immediately to Tangerine, but she shakes her head to disperse them. The truth is, Fawn’s days simply alternates between working at the café, clients, and going home to curl up under the comforter to scroll on her phone. Nothing very exciting or scandalous as Violet may think.
“Just the winter, you know ?” She offers to her. “Gets me a bit down. I’m hibernating.”
Violet snorts.
“You know, the cold isn’t a reason to isolate yourself ? Aren’t people supposed to stick together, share warmth ?”
Fawn smiles, twirling her glass and taking a sip. “Maybe.”
They order their meals, make small talk, talking of everything and anything. It’s only when their plates are deposited in front of them that Violet finally addresses the reason why they’re both here.
“So, who hired you ?” She asks.
“Kenneth Hall”, Fawn replies, dipping a piece of carrot in the sauce. “He’s hired me before. Only escort jobs, though. What about you ?”
Two days earlier, Fawn had received a call from her handler, telling her one of her clients had booked her for a night. A gala, apparently, for Christmas’ Eve.  She had been told Violet too had been hired, by another man, for the same event.
“William something”, Violet tells her, while she twirls pasta around her fork. “Never worked with him, and I asked around, and I don’t think the other girls know him.”
Fawn frowns. “Is it for an escort job too ?”
“Yeah, I only take those these days.” She smiles, then, leaning towards her as if she’s about to spill a terrible secret. “I found myself a boyfriend.”
Fawn arches her eyebrows, surprised.
“Oh, wow. I mean, congratulations. It must be serious, if you’re only doing escort jobs.”
“Yeah, he’s very sweet, you know”, Violet continues. There’s some sort of dreamy expression on her face, like she’s reminiscing herself of him. “But what about you ? How long has it been since your ex-girlfriend ?”
Fawn washes the bitterness in her throat with a mouthful of wine. The ex-girlfriend was… well. It didn’t last, did it.
“Four years”, she murmurs. “And no, I’m not dating anybody right now.”
Violet makes a disappointed moue, pressing her chin against the palm of her hand as she looks at Fawn with some kind of puppy eyes expression.
“Why not ?”
She shrugs, trying to act like she isn’t bothered. She is, though. She doesn’t like to talk about things like relationships and such. She’s crossed those off her list long ago.
“Too much of a hassle”, she replies, twirling her glass.
It really is. She knows of other girls who do it and manage to find the perfect balance between their work and the relationship, but Fawn has never been able to. It’s difficult, too, because it mostly goes against any expectation people have of a conventional relationship. Most people expect her to drop this job, others will try to “save” her, whatever that means. There are also cases of jealousy, and well. It just seems like a lost battle.
Violet eyes her critically.
“It’s not good for you to completely, you know”, she says, waving a hand in front of her, “close yourself.”
“I’m not”, Fawn protests, but it sounds a bit empty, even to her own ears. She shakes her head. “Look, you don’t need to worry about me. I am perfectly fine.”
Violet doesn’t look exactly convinced, but she doesn’t press the issue.
“I’m glad you’ll be at this gala too”, she says, changing the subject. “That way, we can look after each other.”
Fawn smiles at her, feeling oddly touched by her words. Violet is right, though. In their line of work, it is important to have someone to rely onto, someone who knows where you are, in case something happens.
“Me too. Though, to be honest, my client is more like a huge sort of… rich teddy bear. With sweaty palms. But he’s harmless.”
Violet snorts, looking disgusted at the mention of sweaty palms.
“Also, it’s good I won’t be alone to bear those pompous rich assholes”, she adds, and Fawn heartfully agrees with her.
A gala means good alcohol, and good food. It also means making awkward small talk with snobbish people, shaking hands with creepy old men and being scrutinized for every little mistake.
The rest of the afternoon is spent in a blur. Violet insists they go shopping for the night in question, even if the gala is three weeks away. Apparently, her client sent her money to buy herself a dress, and Violet insists the money is enough to buy Fawn’s one too.
So Fawn lets herself be guided into expensive clothing shops, where the sellers busy themselves with finding the right fabric and the right color. She chooses after a short while a long dress in a dark brown. However, Violet isn’t so quick to make her decision, and she seems to have an infinite amount of energy, trying on shoes and dress after dress. Fawn eventually has to admit defeat and just collapses in one of the comfy leather chairs inside the shop, watching as her friend tries on yet another piece of clothing.
Eventually she finally settles on a long, deep purple dress. Fawn can’t help but smile. It fits her. Besides, Violet has always aimed for clothes that match her names.
When Fawn finally gets home in the evening, she is exhausted. Her back feels sore from having to stand up for so long, her feet hurt and she can feel the beginning of a migraine creeping in on her.
She’s relaxing in a warm bath, planning on maybe smoking some weed and calling it an early night, when her phone rings.
She frowns, leaning outside and reaching out blindly until her fingers finally close around the device where she had dropped it on a pile of her clothes. She fails to swipe the screen a few times, her thumb too slippery, before she finally manages to accept the call.
“Yes ?”
“Your client Tangerine asks if you’re available for the night”, her handler tells her.
Tangerine.
Shit, this is really the worse moment.
She’s never refused, though, but right now, her limbs still sore and her head feeling like it’s wrapped in cotton, she really doesn’t feel like leaving the warmth of her apartment.
“I’m sorry, tell him I can’t tonight”, she says. “Tell him I’m available tomorrow, but tonight is going to be difficult.”
She hangs up after that, dropping the phone back on the pile of clothes and trying to relax again in her bath. She lets herself sink deeper into the water, until it covers her shoulders and only her head is out. She closes her eyes, breathes in deeply.
She’s surprised, then, when her phone rings again. She thinks she is imagining it, at first, but then it rings a second time. She sits up in the tub, swiping her phone back up.
She frowns. She doesn’t recognize the number.
She accepts the call, bringing the phone up against her ear.
“Hello ?”
“Hey”.
Fawn recognizes his voice instantly. She wrenches her phone away from her ear, incredulous, checking the number again. When it’s clear that she’s not having some kind of fever dream, she brings the phone back against her ear.
“How the fuck did you get my phone number ?” She demands, heart beating loudly against her chest. She grips the edge of the tub in her panic. What the fuck, what the fuck.
“Are you alright ?” Tangerine asks, ignoring her question. Anger starts to settle in, replacing the surprise and fear quickly.
“Al- Why wouldn’t I be alright ?”
He suddenly sounds less sure of himself.
“You… You didn’t fuckin’ take my offer for tonight”, he says. “You’ve never said no before, so…”
“Yeah, because I’m exhausted, not because I’m… Dead, or whatever”, she retorts, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“Oh”, he simply lets out. “And it’s not because of, y’know, last time ?”
Meaning the time when he got drunk out of his mind and begged her not to leave. She does him the curtesy of not spelling it aloud.
“No”, she reassures him, even if she is a bit pissed off about him using her phone number, whatever way he managed to obtain it. “I’m just tired, alright ?”
“Right”, Tangerine says. He stays silent for a moment. “Look, I’m only here for the night, and I’d really like to see you, love.” Fawn opens her mouth to protest, but he cuts in before she can speak. “I’ll pay you as much as last time.”
She sighs, but she can already feel her resolve fading.
“I’m exhausted, Tangerine”, she argues. It doesn’t sound very convincing, even to her own ears.
“You won’t have to do anything”, he insists. “I’ll still pay you, alright ?”
“I was planning on smoking weed and falling asleep.”
“Well, you can do that at the hotel, can’t you ?”
Fawn guessed she could.
“ And you’re gonna pay me to do that ?”
He snorts. “Yeah, I’ll fuckin’ pay you do that.”
“Alright, it’s your money, I guess.”
“I’ll be at the hotel in, say, one hour, if you head there before me, you can just order room service or anything you’d like”, he tells her. “Or I can pick you up, if you want.”
“I’m not giving you my home address, Tangerine.”
He chuckles, amused. “Fair enough. I’ll see you in an hour, then.”
He hangs up, and Fawn is left sitting in the now cold water of her bath, holding a phone in her hand. Well. So much for trying to deny him for once. Boundaries, and whatnot.
Half an hour later she’s standing in front of the hotel. This time she didn’t even bother at all with the way she dressed, opting for the warmest and comfiest clothes she could get her hands on. The sweater she’s chosen is big, the sleeves completely swallowing her hands, and the hem of it falling down mid-thighs. She wonders, amused, what people would think if they saw her next to Tangerine, who she’s never seen leave the hotel in less than tailored, expensive suits.
He isn’t in the room when she goes up, just like he told her, so she makes the most of his offer, and orders herself a chocolate dessert from the room service. She takes the plate with her in the bed, and relishes in the soft mattress while eating.
She really loves chocolate.
She decides that she might as well start smoking now. She takes the spliff that she had packed into her bag before leaving her apartment earlier, and lights it. She sucks the smoke in, holding it for a moment in her lungs, before slowly exhaling, watching tendrils twirl in the air as she does so. Fuck, that feels good.
She relaxes back against the cushions, the taste of weed and chocolate heavy on her tongue. After a while, she feels like all tension just left her body, like her limbs have turned into jelly or something.
She realizes that she would have never done this with any of her other clients. It’s too late now to start second-guessing herself or panicking, though. She trusts him. Maybe she shouldn’t.
She hears the sound of the door opening, and Tangerine steps inside the bedroom a few seconds later. He’s still wearing one of his suits, but she can see that there are wrinkles here and there, and his hair has started reversing back to its natural curls.
“Started without me, did you ?” He asked, loosening the tie around his throat.
“Didn’t realize you intended for me to share”, she replies. Her tongue feels cottony in her mouth. She closes her eyes.
Tangerine collapses down on the bed next to her with a sigh, face down against the mattress. She snorts. He’s always been somewhat dramatic. She curls a hand inside his hair, lightly scratching against his skull. Tension seems to bleed out of his body from this mere touch.
“Rough day at work ?” She asks. She doesn’t even know what he does for a living.
“Yeah, more like a fuckin’ week”, Tangerine says, groaning and he rolls onto his back.
Fawn extends the hand holding the spliff towards him, waving it a bit in front of his face. She feels pleasantly warm.
“Want some ?” She asks.
“Why, yes, thank you so much”, he replies, sarcastic, but he does raise a hand to take the spliff from her. Their fingers brush against each other, maybe a bit longer than normal, but Fawn is too high to try looking into it more deeply.
He puffs it, and then immediately dissolves into coughs. Fawn grins.
“Jesus”, Tangerine says, voice choked up as he struggles to catch his breath. “That shit is strong, how the fuck can you smoke it ?”
“Aww, not used to smoking weed, are you ? Can’t handle it ?”
“No, I don’t, actually”, Tangerine retorts, passing her the spliff back, wiping at his eyes. “So, what, you won’t accept drunk clients, but you’ll smoke weed with them ?”
“I don’t smoke weed with all my clients.”
He looks up at her then, blue eyes seemingly searching her face for something. She takes a drag from the joint, holding his gaze. He arches an eyebrow.
“What, am I a fucking special case or something ?”
“Maybe you are”, Fawn answers, without really thinking about it.
He doesn’t answer for a while, like he’s deep in his thoughts. She continues to gently caress his hair. The curls feel so soft and his skin so warm underneath her fingers. Maybe she ought to feel overheated, in her chunky sweater, but she just feels pleasantly drowsy, lightheaded from the weed, but content.
He raises a hand eventually to ask for the spliff.
“Pucker up”, she tells him. He frowns, but does as she asked. He looks a bit ridiculous like this, and she can’t help the large grin that breaks out of her face. Jesus, she hadn’t realized weed made her act this silly.
She pops the spliff between his lips. He almost splutters in his surprise, but manages to puff it without actually hacking off his lungs.
“Good job”, she says, unable to resist, and patting his head lightly.
He glares at her in answer (it’s not exactly convincing) and blows the smoke into her face. She laughs a bit, taking the spliff back.
“Wait, are you really going to take the last fucking…” Tangerine tries to protest, rising a bit on his elbows.
Fawn arches an eyebrow, taking the last drag, but holds the smoke in her lungs. She scoots a bit closer to him, and taps a finger at his bottom lip. He seems a bit clueless, confused. Still, he opens his mouth all the same.
She doesn’t really know what suddenly comes over her, but she leans in, and blows the smoke inside his mouth. He sucks in sharp breath, staring at her with lidded eyes. She leans a bit closer. She doesn’t know who closes the few final inches separating them.
But then, they’re kissing.
His mouth is hot against hers, his lips soft and wet. He tastes like weed and coffee. She parts her lips, licking lightly at his bottom lip, and then she feels his tongue against hers.
Fuck, it’s been a while since she’s been kissed like this. Just kissed, just for the sake of it.
It might be the best kiss she’s gotten in months. Maybe years.
She cups his cheek, tilting her head for a better angle, and he hums against her, tongue sliding in deeper, rolling against her own. Fuck.
Her other hand, that had already been in his hair, pulls a bit at his curls.
Suddenly, he wrenches himself away from her, standing hastily from the bed. There is… some sort of panic in his eyes, his curls completely messed up on his head, his lips swollen.
“Fuck”, he says, pushing his hair out of his eyes, raking a hand through them. His chest is heaving. Fawn is completely lost. What is happening ? “Fuck”, he repeats, louder.
He doesn’t even look at her, storming out of the room. She hears the entrance door slam closed a few seconds later.
She stays rooted where she is, still sitting on the bed. Alone.
She feels like she just brutally fell of her high. The warmth that had been infused in the room mere minutes earlier seems to have completely disappeared. She shivers, wrapping her arms around herself. She doesn’t dare move.
What the fuck ?
She… Doesn’t understand.
They were kissing. Alright, she had kissed him first, yes, but he had kissed her back. He could have simply said no, if he didn’t want to. She wouldn’t have felt offended.
Fuck, the bastard just… Fucking left. She feels gutted, for some reason. Like someone just tore open her chest and left a gaping hole behind, not bothering to close it back. The loneliness creeps in, all at once. She is surrounded by it, sitting alone in a huge hotel room.
He couldn’t just… Leave. He was going to come back, right ?
He hadn’t even paid her.
Fawn swallows around the lump in her throat. Fuck. She’s not going to cry. Not for a man. Not for a fucking client, of all things. She’s long past that.
Okay, so maybe she had thought Tangerine was a bit different than the rest. But he is still a client.
She blinks furiously against the tears threatening to spill out. She feels cold. Humiliated.
Fuck, this really is humiliating.
Her mind keeps jumping to all sorts of possible explanation, each one worse than the other.
A small part of her keeps foolishly hoping that he’s going to come back. He’s going to come back. He just… has too. She had stayed, when he had asked her. Even though he had been drunk. She had stayed because he had asked.
She waits three hours, until she finally decides to go home. Confusion and sadness have long morphed into anger, and a deep feeling of emptiness.
She curls up in her own bed, back in her small apartment. She feels completely pathetic. For allowing this happen. For allowing herself to hope for a fucking client to be at least decent. For allowing him to put her in this situation. She shouldn’t have accepted his offer.
She just wasted a night of sleep, and she didn’t even get paid for it. And now, here she is, alone back in her apartment. Just… Alone.

Puppy Love
A short I decided to put up on here.
“Do you have a moment, Carrot?” Angua asked.
“No,” Carrot replied. “I know who to ask if I need one, but… do you mean, are you busy?”
He sat down on the chair in their shared quarters. “I’m not busy, no. Is something wrong?”
“No,” Angua murmured, smiling for a moment. “Or… I don’t think so, anyway.”
She stretched.
“I was thinking about us, Carrot,” she explained. “And I mean, about our relationship.”
Most human males would consider this sentence to be an instant trigger for a fight-or-flight response, though the term fight-or-flight is itself a misnomer as it avoids the third, very convenient option of freeze – one which most boyfriends, or husbands, often employ under stress.
Carrot, being human physically but dwarfish by cultural upbringing and only naturalized human, just looked serious.
“I see,” he said. “Do you think it’s a good one?”
His expression turned faintly worried. “I hope it is. It’s easy to make mistakes and something that important deserves attention.”
Angua smiled. “I know,” she said. “And, don’t worry, it’s not about something you’re doing wrong. It’s more about… something we could do, if we keep going.”
Carrot continued to look faintly puzzled, and Angua concealed a mental sigh.
She loved Carrot, she really did, but sometimes when talking to him you needed to remember to recalibrate mentally a bit.
“Right now, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend,” she said. “Which is a steady thing. I like it.”
Carrot smiled, a little shyly.
“I like it too,” he said. “It’s not what I thought it would be like when I was growing up, but… I like it.”
He nodded, as if he’d come to a careful conclusion after thinking about all the possibilities. And the thing about Carrot was… Angua knew that he had.
Carrot wasn’t the sort of person to just say what everyone expected was the right thing for a boyfriend to say. If he said something like that, it was because he’d seriously thought about it and decided that, yes, it was nice.
It was endearing, and infuriating, and Angua was sometimes not quite sure which of those things she felt like it was at any given time.
“We could keep going on like this,” Angua said, half-offer and half-explanation. “Or we could try and do something else. Marriage, for example.”
Carrot nodded seriously.
“I think I know someone who can write a good contract,” he said. “Mr. Axehammer on Short street, he’s highly recommended-”
Then he cut himself off.
“Oh,” he added. “You might be thinking about it in a different way, right?”
“Two different ways,” Angua admitted. “And one of them says we already are married, or as close as it gets. But with the human side, the contract isn’t the important bit, it’s the commitment.”
“Commitment’s important for dwarfs too,” Carrot said. “But… is it because there’s no contract, the commitment is more important?”
“It’s hard to say,” Angua admitted. “I don’t really have experience with either of them.”
She snorted. “Cheery might be better at answering a question like that.”
Carrot nodded seriously.
“With a contract, you know where you stand,” he said. “Even if it’s a really simple one. You know what’s expected.”
That was something about Carrot as well. He wouldn’t insist on something – but he’d explain what he thought, and make sure you knew both sides of things.
It was easier to respect a decision, he thought, if you knew that the other person had known everything going in.
“What’s the other thing?” Carrot asked, while Angua was still thinking about that.
“Hm?” Angua asked, then replayed the conversation mentally until she got to the point he was talking about. “Oh, well. It hasn’t come up yet, but I was wondering about. Children.”
Though she’d never say why out loud, she sort of suspected that she and Carrot wouldn’t have any children unless they were married.
Carrot’s unique position in the story of Ankh-Morkpork, the one he quietly rejected but that followed him around everywhere all the same, said that legitimate children mattered in a way that wouldn’t apply to almost anyone else.
Nobby, now, as someone who was potentially a duke, the idea of an illegitimate child fit into that story. But Carrot… no. Not him.
It was a strange thing, to know you were a secondary character in someone else’s story, but Angua was used to the feeling after so many years of it.
“Children,” Carrot repeated, and he sounded… slightly concerned, but mostly confused. “You mean, us having children?”
He frowned. “Does something worry you about that?”
“I know I’ve talked to you about this before, Carrot,” Angua said, though without any real heat to it. “It’s the biggest danger with a werewolf who’s stuck in one shape, when they have children… they have children who are mostly one thing, but a bit something else. And sometimes they can’t really handle it.”
She sighed. “I don’t know what to think about it, though. It worries me, but… it’s not the only thing here.”
Carrot nodded, and his frown deepened.
“You know more than me about it,” he said. “So if you think it’s not a good idea, then that’s that.”
“And what do you think?” Angua asked.
Carrot opened his mouth, but Angua beat him to it. “I don’t want to hear what you think is a good idea, Carrot,” she said. “I don’t want to hear what’s a bad idea, either. I know you’re a sensible man, and I love you for it… but, right now, what I want to hear is if if it’s something you’d want.”
Carrot closed his mouth again, and put his hand on his chin.
Angua watched, and after a minute or so a shy smile stole over his face.
“I’d like it,” he said.
Angua nodded.
“That’s what I wanted to find out,” she said. “Because I think something being a bad idea is a good reason not to do it… but it’s a terrible thing to do, I think, to bring a child into the world without wanting them.”
She reached out a hand, and Carrot took it without prompting.
“This isn’t a decision,” she said. “We do still need to think about it. But I think… whatever choice we make, it’ll be for the right reasons.”
Carrot nodded seriously.
“How would you want to do the names?” he asked. “If we did get married, it’d be a shame for you to lose the von Uberwald name… I like it.”
“Is there an option?” Angua asked, slightly surprised – mostly because she hadn’t even thought of that herself.
“Mr. Axehammer’s very good at contracts,” Carrot told her. “He could write a good one.”
Angua burst out laughing.
Because Carrot knew that, sometimes, the best way to get your way was to come up with how to make sure everyone did.
