Okay, with the 2010’s era of cartoons now firmly in the rear view, I’m curious…
If I missed your favorite 2010’s cartoon, feel free to add them in the tags. If I get enough ‘what about X’ comments I’ll probably do a second poll with all of the write-in answers. Please just note that I’m talking about cartoons that started between 2010 and 2019 (and preferably ended before 2020, that's less mandatory but I want to prioritize cartoons that did all or at least the majority of their run during the New Tens), there’s a reason why ‘Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts’ or ‘The Owl House’ are not on the list.
I love Raph and haven’t said that enough so to be more specific I love that Raph is a soft boy who loves bear plushies, a gross boy who eats an assortment of things that are definitely better left alone, a smart boy who is more than capable of taking down villains through planning and fortitude alike, a strong boy who is dedicated to training his muscles and fighting prowess, a teenage boy who loves his brothers but is more than happy to tease and roughhouse with them, an angry boy who sometimes lets his anger take a hold of him to cover the fear, a gentle boy who is generous with hugs and affirmations to those he loves, a capable boy who takes on more than should ever be expected of a teenager, a good boy who just wants to be a hero and slowly comes to realize the cost of that duty, a good boy who has no reservations about putting himself in the way of harm coming to his family, a good boy who’s a great brother and son and person and deserves only the best the world has to offer.
I never got to see it in person, but the closing of the old CN studios building really saddens me. I just hope that despite all this, Cartoon Network can endure the wacky corporate politics of Warner Bros Discovery, and continue to provide fun and creative animated shows for the foreseeable future.
"It's just some stupid animated kids shows. Who cares?"
The way I like to think about the HBO Max situation is:
Imagine you're an artist, and one day, a museum tells you it wants to have an exhibit with all of your work. You're excited, so you take some of your favorite pieces out of storage to give them to them. You make new pieces too, working months and years for this exhibit. Then your works are proudly presented in the museum, and everything runs smoothly for awhile. You even start making some new pieces to later be displayed. But one day, you're walking in the street and a fan comes up to you, telling you how sad it is that your exhibit is closing. What? You weren't told this was going to happen. So you look it up. And you find other posts about how your art exhibit closed yesterday. Then you call the museum, and they tell you that in the middle of night, they decided to close your exhibit and threw all your pieces in the dumpster which had already been emptied. And no they won't be exhibiting any of the work you had just finished for the museum. Now no one is able to see your art in person, not even you. All that's left of your hard and passionate work is photos.
After a magical attack, send a villainess or heroine into a game. They learn they are the mother of the hero/main villain of the game.
So they do the right thing.
My baby won't be a hero or villain.
+
For Danny, it started with an argument with Ghost Writer that the games are better than the books.
It had been a game that Tucker was playing all the time, and he showed it to Ghost Writer, who said the book was better after a massive argument and bet. Well, this is how Danny, as Phantom, is now a baby in the game.
A silver-haired, green-eyed baby with a mother who said he would be the greatest hero or villain
And Danny was always a good boy. And would do his filial piety.
+
So, as the Iseaki Mother's friends tried to get out of it, Ghost Writer worked to make sure Phantom and Mom stayed in the game.
+
After a while, the villainess or heroine was kicked out of the game. And she wasn't very happy.
She was raising her baby bun! And they have to come and ruin it.
What if he becomes a SuperHero/SuperVillain without Mom!?
+
Danny too came out, and first he told Ghost Writer he won. He spent his life again normal fighting Ghost and having fun, with the few personalities traits of the Isekai mom.
Example
If Diana, Danny says a few times. "Great Hera."
+
Phantom meets Mom again after he dated a superheroine or super villainess.
Who know who he was the moment she saw him, the style she taught him, silver hair and green eyes. It's her baby Bun! He escaped the game too!!
Her baby listen to her and became a Hero/Villain!!
