This is my fanmade poster for the first movie in the Bluey theatrical trilogy. I think that Glitch Productions will co-produced

Why did I guess the name as Bluey's Big Movie? Well, "Bluey: the Movie" sounds too generic.

The plot is this:

The Heelers are finally moving, but then a mysterious euphoric ragtag group of whatsits give Bluey a prophecy that she will find her new home in the twisty-turny psychadelic city of New Victoria, and save it from disaster.

just remembered this cartoon movie (?) i watched when i was in preschool, probably about 4

it was a world inhabited by sweets and two characters were getting married but then a character who was i think a strip of bacon crashed the wedding and kidnapped the bride i think

i remember thinking something like "why did they make the healthy food evil and the desserts good? aren't desserts bad for you?" when i was watching it

if anyone knows what the hell im talking about could someone please tell me what it is bc i do not have the energy to go looking through my house for a dvd that might have gotten thrown away when my dad was going through his decluttering phase

I didn't do all that much for Halloween last night, but I made a point to watch this fantastic 90's animated movie called The Halloween Tree, and it is perfect and I highly recommend it!

It's an ""educational"" movie, but not really- it's mostly just a really fun, excellently well written whimsical adventure. The 'educational' stuff is just very loose details about various Halloween practices (although it's more about celebrations of the dead than Halloween specifically) and the info is probably not really totally accurate, but it still explores the spirit and the meaning of these practices well, even if it's not 100% accurate with the hard facts.

It's also *really* dark. Like, the movie is wonderfully whimsical in a warm, orangey friendly Halloween way, but even though it pretends to be just about Halloween specifically, that's only really a cover- you quickly realise that what the story is actually about is death itself, and the ways humans respond to it. It is literally about kids going on a magical Halloween night adventure to rescue the spirit of their dying friend, after all, while the creepy magical man, Moundshroud, who guides them, is simultaneously their ally and the antogonist, as while he's guiding and teaching the children, he is also openly trying to catch the dying boy's soul, as his 'rent is past due'. There's a genuine sense of dread about the outcome, despite all the Halloween playfulness, the kind that sticks with you.

The film is narrated gorgeously by Ray Bradbury- the original writer of the book the animation is based off of, and Moundshroud is voiced fantastically by Leonard Nimoy, who sounds like he was having a blast voicing this expressive, creepy dude!

Anyway, highly, highly recommend it- I'd go as far as to say that The Halloween Tree is an overlooked all-time classic Halloween movie that deserves the same kind of cult following that Hokus Pokus has gained over the years.
