Enjoy! Music from an excellent movie. Hollywood doesn't make movies like "Midnight Express" anymore. Reposted from @groove_of_the_day Movie/Oscar Groove – Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (but everybody calls him Giorgio) is an Italian musician, producer, songwriter who found his big break when he began working with Donna Summer. That team produced hit after hit, classic after classic from 1975-1980. Moroder also worked on solo material, with a heavy focus on synthesizers. He would eventually start work on movie soundtracks including American Gigolo (he wrote and produced “Call Me” for Blondie), Flashdance, Top Gun (he wrote and produced both “Take My Breath Away” and “Danger Zone”), Neverending Story, Scarface and more. He began his soundtrack career with a movie called Midnight Express by Oliver Stone in 1978. This track is called “Chase” and is from the film and soundtrack. The “Father of Disco,” as he was dubbed, took home his first Oscar for this film score for Midnight Express. He would go on to win 2 addition Oscars (not bad for a musician!) for best original songs for “Flashdance” and “Take My Breath Away.” Moroder is still going strong at the age of 82, though he lost his wife Francisca just a couple of weeks ago. "I had no problem with KISS for one reason, it never touched on what Alice did. I always said KISS were comic book heroes where Alice was much more Phantom of the Opera. KISS was another band that had a couple of good special effects. I thought the breathing of fire was a very good idea and some of the costumes were over the top. And I liked their music. I thought the music was pretty good. But they didn't get involved in the actual psycho sickness that made Alice a dangerous character. KISS was never as nearly dangerous as Alice.
