I love how my uni has this dark little corner of an old and stained building with this little door, hard to notice, with a sign saying ‘Psychology experiments’ in the most sinister, scrawling handwriting ever.
Ahh, the perks of being a psychology student.

Xoxo

My principal may have said that my combination of senior subjects was the weirdest he had ever heard of, but neither of us were prepared for just how well they prepared me for my uni subjects.
I’m sitting in my Psychological stats class, the only first year amongst second and third years, and not only do I know the scientific method and it’s variations off by heart, as well as different forms of scientific study (a relic of my time in Biology), but I also know all of the relevant mathematical concepts and calculations, AND which sources are valid or not to use and why, AND how to design my own assessment and manage my own learning (thanks, historiography).
And everyone else is sitting there having no idea what the difference between a longitudinal and cross sectional study is.
Damn, this worked out well for me.

Reading my screenwriting textbooks with the goal of learning how to write novels, and being confused when the book insults a way of writing characters and says, ‘that kind of writing is better for novel.’
Cue me thinking ‘but that’s the point, isn’t it? If we’re not writing novels, what are we writing?’
Only for me to then remember that this is a screenwriting course, not a novel writing one....
