Introducing.. the Hololeo AU!

I’ve sketched it before, just never really spoken abt it outside friends- essentially it’s inspired by the idea of the robo future raph concept and an old amphibia au of mine!

Basically, Leo ends up dying the day after the kraang invasion finishes. Donnie, struggling the most out of his siblings to process this, builds a personality-accurate chatbot to talk to, just until he can properly process he’s actually gone. However due to reasons not even Donnie himself understands, the moment he goes to delete the bot it speaks to him. Unprompted.

Not just improvising on pre-programmed lines, but actually recalling accurate events Donnie never told it aswell as demanding to leave the lab so he can talk to the others. Donnie considers shutting him off again, but ultimately fails and ends up building a body for Hololeo instead.

Problem is, Hololeo’s vision and memories are altered so in his vision he looks like the old leo, and the actual ending of the rise movie is how he thinks the invasion ended! So when mikey and then raph and april accidentally discover Hololeo, they decide to just.. keep him around.

They couldn’t just deactivate him.

Hololeo resumes the leadership role that April took over temporarily, assuming the weird looks he gets from Raph and Mikey sometimes are because of him sacrificing himself to the kraang, but hey, he came back, right?

Well, after a mission goes wrong, Hololeo’s hologram vision breaks (and his arm, because it is a legal requirement for leo to lose an arm in every au /hj) all is revealed to him. Leading to the newly crisis-ing robot turtle to run off into the hidden city to process.

Though, unbeknownst to his siblings or even he himself, Hololeo might be more Leo than he thinks.

And that’s the basic au premise hfjshfhs

It has been almost 4 years since this idea first bloomed to life in my head, and I never could've imagined how long it would stay with me with enough motivation and inspiration to not only write steadily but also hit a concrete finish line.

Thank you thank you to every single person here who cheered me on, read my tag game excerpts, and generally reminded me that I love this story and want to explore every nook and cranny of it!

The plan going forward is to start draft 2 completely from scratch, rewriting the entire thing as I understand the characters more and what I need from the plot as well.

Here's a little bit of a scene I wrote back in 2020, the way I was going to originally have each character meet on a streetcar stuck behind a protest--the violinist is Paris, of course, the driver is Lewis, Velia's seat companion is Antonio, and the golden haired worked is Fynn. :) I can really (yeesh) see how much I've improved in the last few years, which is really swell 😁

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 104!!!

Holy crap natsuhiko is a human who can't die and has apparently been "killed" before and his blood is venomous to supernaturals

This is already causing me to freak because wow but also I was in the process of writing out a theory I have about sakura

In the hotel au Sakura is said to be both dead and not dead, and that she is sleeping until she meets someone she made a promise to meet. This along with Tsukasa saying that Sakura would finally be able to go outside after a century already had me suspicious but natsuhiko's role just solidifies this connection in my mind

Natsuhiko is said to be "someone's resurrection experiment gone wrong" 👀 kinda like how in the main storyline it seems like he's a product of resurrection.

In the bakeneko au natsuhiko claims that he was saved by Sakura and was told not to go back to the Ryokan but he decides to anyways because he wants to see her again.

Perhaps sakura was the one who resurrected him in the main storyline, saving him and giving him his immortality, which is why he's so enamored with her despite her rejections of him.

And perhaps the real reason that Sakura rejects natsuhiko isn't so much out of actual disdain for him but rather because she is waiting for the that person who will wake her from her eternal slumber.

Although I suspect this person might actually be Tsukasa since he's connected to some time travel shenanigans and is the one who's supposed to grant Sakura's wish so maybe not....

Either way, some really interesting stuff going on here and I'm really loving the broadcast crew getting some good good lore and can't wait to see what happens next.

In a weird twist of circumstances, I think the only reason I didn't hyperfixate on BG3 for very long is because I'm much more into the world/stories of my own OCS for the first time in a long long time.

You know what. Maybe I've been too harsh on dishonored 2's opening. Like, before now I've been thinking that it makes Emily and Corvo hold the biggest idiot ball ever but I started replaying dishonored 1 again last night and read some of the books again, and of course they let Delilah just waltz in! Corvo was Jessamine's himbo hunk boytoy bodyguard, while Jessamine was the one who did all the actual Ruling and Important Decisions. Emily takes after her father in a lot of respects, and in the Corroded Man it puts real emphasis on how she prefers sneaking out at night to learn fighting and stealth with Corvo to Empress duties. That's a combination just RIPE for someone actually competent and/or extremely devious to swoop in and seize the basically unattended throne. Corvo and Emily got so wrapped up in being naughty kids sneaking out the window at night that they forgot to actually, y'know, rule the country properly. Like the book in DH1 said (I mean it *was* written by Hiram but he kinda has a point), Corvo is great with a sword but a sword can't stop poison in a chalice, or a really pissed off witch come back from imprisonment in the void from invoking a coup.

i cannot express how much i envy able bodied individuals just for having energy alone.

you can be productive in a few hours way more than i can in a whole day. you can actually work and have a higher chance at getting a job let alone making it to an interview, unlike me. you can make plans with people and leave the house more often than i can. you can enjoy your interests and passions and access more than i likely ever will.

people with physically able bodies, just for having energy through the day, can do way more than i can, and i envy that.

i envy it because i miss out.

i also want to clarify im specifically saying ENVY not Jealous because those are different words with different meanings.

i get jealous of people interacting with my fp cuz i fear loosing them, i get envious of people who can access the things i cant because it means im missing out on things i could do in a world built for people like them not me.

i want to be able to walk without getting sore and exhausted, i want to be able to enjoy my passions more, i want to be able to get around with ease, i want to not feel sick when i get out of bed. i want to be able to live life in a world that isnt built against me, able bodied ppl have that, im envious of it.
