warnings: non graphic injury description, heated make out
summary: When you defy an order and risk your life on a mission Cassian accidentally confesses his love for you in his anger.

Your ship pulled off the ground and you watched as Hoth disappeared beneath you. It was a gunfight on the way back to the ship, but you and Cassian were safe and you had retrieved the drive you came for successfully. It was a successful mission, and it would be difficult for anyone to argue otherwise. Nevertheless you were being yelled at. K-2 was piloting the craft, leaving Cassian free to focus his attention on you.
“I told you to leave! It doesn’t matter what I do! I gave you an order!” Cassian yelled at you. You had taken a seat on a stool at the holotable. He was still standing, unable to calm himself enough to sit down.
“So, I was just supposed to leave you there?” You asked. “We got away fine, Andor. I don’t get what the problem is.” You were exasperated by Cassian. Sure, the mission hadn’t gone to plan, but it wasn’t that bad. Everyone was okay and you’d gotten what you came for.
“The problem is you almost died!” Cassian shouted.
“You almost die every day!” You snapped.
“That’s me, not you!” Cassian yelled back.
“So, you’re allowed to be in danger, but I’m not? Why?” You asked angrily.
“Because I love you!” Cassian shouted without thinking about it. The ship fell silent.
“You love me?” you murmured in question.
“I…I did not mean to say that. I’m…sorry,” Cassian said as he avoided eye contact with you.
“Cassian,” you called. “Do you really love me?” Your voice was light and sweet. It was the same voice you used with him whenever you were patching him up.
“I…We’re partners,” Cassian deflected.
“I know that, Cass.” The use of the nickname made Cassian’s heart skip a beat. “I asked if you love me.”
“Y/N, we should not talk about this,” Cassian said. He hadn’t made eye contact with you once since his confession. You stood up and approached him. There was only about a foot of space between you. Cassian turned his head to look at K-2 in the cockpit.
“Cassian, look at me,” you requested. Cassian pressed his lips together tightly before turning his head to look down at you. You reached up and cupped his jaw in your hand, his stubble scratching your palm lightly. You started to lean towards him slowly.
“Y/N, we can’t,” Cassian whispered. You could feel his breath against your lips.
“Why not?” You asked, maintaining your closeness. Cassian didn’t move away either.
“We’re partners,” he said. You gently ran your thumb along Cassian’s cheek. It was only another moment before you felt his hands gently resting on your hips. His touch was light. He was nervous. He still wasn’t sure he should be allowed to touch you at all.
“Do you love me, Kassa?” Cassian blushed brightly. He’d told you his birth name once during a late night stakeout. He didn’t think you even remembered it. He loved the way it sounded coming from you though. It made him feel like you really knew him. Like you were his family.
“Yes,” Cassian admitted quietly. “I love you.” You smiled softly. You leaned forward and kissed him passionately, tongue pushing into his mouth. He hummed in pleasure when you tugged at the hair at the nape of his neck. You released his lips but kept your foreheads pressed together.
“I love you too, Cassian,” you said.
”I’ve wanted you for so long,” Cassian murmured as his hands gripped you tighter, pulling your body against his. Your hands found a place on his broad shoulders. You slid them to the collar of his jacket. You started to push it off him. He quickly began to aid you, but you stopped him when you saw a blood stain on his shirt.
“Cassian, you’re bleeding!” You exclaimed. He glanced down.
“It’s a graze,” Cassian said. “We can deal with it later.” He tossed his jacket all the way off. You lifted his shirt. He continued to help you but his expression dropped when he realized you were just examining the wound.
“Baby, I’m fine,” Cassian sighed as he tossed the shirt off. You smirked.
“‘Baby,’ huh?” You teased him as you carefully examined the blaster graze and burns around it. Cassian’s cheeks warmed.
“Is that alright?” He asked. His hands moved to your waist as your eyes searched the rest of his body for other wounds he was ignoring.
“It’s alright, honey,” you said with a smirk. Cassian grinned. “Now sit down. I’m going to get a medpack,” you finished. He huffed quietly. He didn’t release you. “Let go, Cass,” you said in a sing-songy voice.
“Can’t it wait?” Cassian pleaded. He leaned forward and began pressing his lips to your exposed neck. “Aren’t we in the middle of something more important?” You gave his biceps a squeeze as you pushed him away from you.
“We can get back to this once I’ve finished patching you up,” you promised. “Sit.” Cassian pursed his lips, but took a seat and waited for you to return with the medpack.
When you did you sat across from Cassian. The graze was just above his waist on the side of his body. You dug out the antiseptic and found a small cloth.
“Lift your arm,” you instructed Cassian. He sighed but did as you asked. You leaned towards him and began carefully cleaning the wound. About ten seconds into your work he put his arm down and reached out to push a loose piece of hair behind your ear, leaving the hand to rest on your cheek once he had. “Cass,” you warned.
“What?” Cassian asked, feigning innocence.
“Just let me finish taking care of you,” you told him.
“I want to take care of you right now,” he said, moving his other hand to your thigh.
“I’m serious, Cass,” you said. “We aren’t doing anything until I’ve got you all bandaged up.” He pouted as he pulled his hands back, earning a giggle from you.
“You’re laughing at me?” Cassian exclaimed.
“You’re just so cute, honey,” you said. His cheeks heated at the compliment. You removed a piece of ash lodged in the wound. He winced.
“Sorry, Kassa,” you cooed. “I know it hurts.”
“I’m alright, baby,” Cassian said. “Don’t worry about me.” You put down the antiseptic and took a bandage in your hand.
“I’m always going to worry about you,” you said sweetly. He took a piece of your hair in his fingers and was twirling it around his finger. You put your hand against his side again. You were about to put the bandage on.
“You’re taking a long time,” Cassian complained.
“Quiet, you,” you said. “I’m almost done.” You laid the bandage down over the wound carefully and sealed it to Cassian’s skin. You leaned down and pressed a kiss over the bandage before sitting back up and looking at him with a smile.
“Are you done? Can I kiss you now?” Cassian asked eagerly. You chuckled lightly.
“Yes, Captain Andor,” you teased. “You can kiss me now.” Cassian growled.
“You can’t call me that now. K2 is still here,” he groaned. You giggled when you realized how he felt about the title. You recalled that after your first week of working with him he asked you to stop using his title.
“Just kiss me, Cassian,” you murmured.
Cassian didn’t waste another moment before pushing his lips against yours. His lips were warm despite the fact that you’d just departed the cold of Hoth. You took his bottom lip in your teeth and tugged for a moment before he took control and pushed his tongue into your mouth.
You were growing lost in the feeling of Cassian’s mouth against yours, totally and completely addicted to his taste already. Time or space didn’t seem to exist anymore. There was nothing but you and Cassian. You were his and he was yours and nothing else mattered.

Cassian sighed dejected as he knocked on your door. It had been a long day, and when he hit a rough patch, Cassian usually found himself at your place to seek refuge. You were a comfort to him, even if all feelings were left unspoken. And the moment you opened the door and he saw your face again, all his trouble felt like they melted away just from looking into your eyes.
“Cassian,” you breathed as you stepped aside to let him in, “What happened? You look rough.”
“Things have been difficult lately,” was all he said as he stepped into your apartment.
You guided him into the living space and sat him down on a chair before you sat across from him, “You want to talk about it?” you asked with a pleading look on your face.
“Not particularly,” he sighed. Cassian’s eyes trailed down your figure to your hand, which you had placed on his knee in a comforting manner. He swallowed hard as he felt the warmth spread from his knee all the way to his chest… and to his cock.
Noticing the way he shifted in his seat, you let out a deep breath, “I think I know what you need tonight, baby,” your tone dropped as you saw his eyes widen.
You let go of where you rested your hand on his knee and stood up. When Cassian tried to stand with you, thinking you were going to lead him to your bedroom, you placed a hand on his chest and silently guided him back down to sit. He whispered your name, but before he could ask what you had in mind, you raised a finger to his lips, effectively silencing him.
Cassian both loved and hated how much power you actually had over him.
You flicked something on, and music started to play as you swung your hips slowly to the beat of the rhythm. Cassian looked you up and down, and adjusted his posture to open himself up to you more.
“Like what you see, Cassian?” you asked in a low hum, catching how his jaw tightened the more you shimmied your hips.
“You know what the answer is,” he replied in a breathy tone, as if he was holding himself back.
A smirk lit up your face as you danced your way closer to him, straddling his lap. You allowed Cassian to rest his hands on your hips, gently guiding your motions as you swayed over him. You were calculated in your movements, and made sure to brush against his cock a few times before staying teasingly far at the same time. Hovering closer to Cassian’s lips, you felt his breath on your skin. But, you broke away before you closed the gap.
Cassian let out a frustrated grunt as you lifted yourself up off his lap and continued to dance for him. But, his annoyance vanished when you grabbed your shirt and slowly lifted it up inch by inch to the beat of the music. Teasingly slow at first, you only allowed him glaces of your skin. You wanted to make him wait, you wanted him to want you so desperately that he couldn’t fight his urges to keep his hands to himself.
Agonizingly slow, you started to expose more and more of your skin to Cassian, and you saw the way his eyes darkened with every peak you gave him. Finally, you lifted your shirt up and off, leaving you topless before him. Cassian clenched his fists involuntarily as he raked his gaze over your chest. He had seen you many times before, yet when you stayed sensually to the music that played, something felt different.
You came back to where he was seated and straddled him once more. This time, Cassian didn’t put his hands on your hips, but on your breasts. You moaned softly as he squeezed and pinched at your soft skin, and you arched your back into his grip.
“Cassian,” you moaned as you rocked your hips against his, feeling his cock underneath you.
He breathed your name as his eyes looked up to meet yours. Locks of his hair fell into his eyes, but it only framed his face better. This time, you couldn’t resist and you leaned in and took Cassian’s lips with your own. He groaned into you as you continued to move your hips back and forth.
Breaking away with a gasp, you pushed yourself off of him once more, and you heard his grunt of frustration over the music. You couldn’t stifle the laugh you let out as you turned around and shook your ass for him. Cassian had come to you many times before, and the two of you started an unofficial routine. He came to you when he needed a release, when he needed to let off some steam. And in return, Cassian made sure you were safe from any threats. But this… this was something new and different.
You had never felt this bold with him before. You had never teased him like this before. And you certainly never gave him a strip dance like this before. It was exhilarating watching him fight to hold his composure as his eyes darkened. And something in you told you that he was enjoying this just as much as you were.
Perhaps more.
As you swayed your hips to the music, you hooked your fingers under the hem of your pants and slowly pushed them down. This time, however, you decided not to tease Cassian as much. You kept a slow but determined pace as you shook your ass to the music while you pushed your pants down.
Cassian let out a low rumble as he fought to keep himself seated for the show you put on. You never told him not to move, but like everything with the two of you, it was unspoken. But as your ass bounced out of your pants, Cassian’s cock strained and screamed at him and it became harder and harder for him to stay still.
When you turned back around, you were bare for him, and you kicked your pants away. Your eyes trailed down his seated form and landed on his cock tenting in his pants. “I think I’ve teased you long enough, Cass,” you cooed as you sauntered over to him.
“I would say so,” he huffed in agreement.
You straddled his hips once more, but this time you reached down and freed his cock from his pants. Involuntarily, you licked your lips as it sprang free and at full attention. “Fuck…” you breathed as you wrapped your hand around it and stroked it a few times.
Cassian whispered your name, causing you to pause and meet his gaze, “Sit on my cock,” his tone was low and commanding, yet not harsh. Like it was a question and a statement at the same time.
“Anything you want, Cass,” you moaned as you lifted your hips and lined his cock up with your pussy.
He rested his hands on your bare hips, guiding your body as you sank down onto his cock. You let out a loud moan as you impaled yourself on him and your hands grabbed into his shoulder for balance.
“That’s my girl,” Casssian purred as he let out a gasp of his own at feeling your wet tightness around him once more.
You whimpered as you sat yourself on his lap, his cock fully sheathed inside you. Time seemed to stop for a moment as you met his eyes, and your heart fluttered in your chest. But, Cassian was not yours to have, not really. This was just an agreement between the two of you, just a release.
Feeling the rhythm flood your veins once more, you lifted yourself up a bit and lowered back down. You moved your hips to the beat of the music that still played faintly in the background, and your mind swam in the pleasure that was his cock.
“Fuck,” Cassian hissed as he watched you bounce and rock on his lap. You felt so good, and it took biting his tongue to keep the praises from flowing from his lips.
“Cassian,” you moaned as your eyes fluttered shut and you dropped your head back. You started to lose your rhythm as you bounced on his cock, focusing more on the pleasure than the music.
“That’s it sweetheart,” Cassian groaned as he bucked his hips up against you.
Together, the two of you found a rhythm, and you grinded against each other in desperate need for release. Moans and groans from both of you filled the room and drowned out the music. You moved faster as heat rose in your body and you felt the familiar tingle build within you.
“Cum for me,” Cassian purred.
As if on cue, you came hard, clenching and trembling around Cassian as you screamed loudly. Cassian groaned as he wrapped his arms around you and yanked you close, pounding into you until he too hit his peak. He bit down on your shoulder to stifle his own groans as he spilled himself inside you.
Once the two of you were spent, you collapsed forward into his shoulder. Cassian’s arms stayed wrapped around you, holding you close as you settled yourself on his lap. Faintly, you were both aware of the music in the background, but the sounds of your beating hearts drowned it out.
Cassian wanted to tell you how much he cared about you, how much he craved seeing you time and time again. But, he also needed to keep you safe, and that also meant keeping you at arm’s length. But, at least for now, he could savor the feeling of you in his arms as you breathed heavily. For just that moment, you were his, and everything was perfect.

tell me every terrible thing you did and let me love you anyway
You had never expected to be the person who waited around for a man to come back but ever since Cassian had vanished when the empire came looking for him, you had been waiting for him to come home.
Every day you woke up in his home with his mother, a sickening feeling in your stomach as you wondered what could be happening to him. Maarva had invited you to stay with her in the home after he had left as she was getting sicker every day and needed someone to stay with her at all times.
You had known the Andor ever since you met when he was just a young teenager and the three turned up on the planet. Maarva trusted you with her life and you felt the same way.
Cassian meant everything to you, he was your best friend, your confidante and the man you had always been in love with. Ever since you were little kids, that smile on his face had drawn you in and even though you knew he didnt feel the same way, you always stuck by his side.
And now you were waiting in his home for him to come back. The rain poured down heavy on the windows and you were making Maarva a pot of tea when you heard a knock on the door.
You’re entire frame tensed up and you rushed to the door, hand resting on the blaster in your holster and you tried to figure out what to do. You leaned closer to the door, eye peeking through the hole in the door as you tried to see who it was; ever since Cassians escapade, the security had increased and they were constantly wary that you and Maarva were plotting something.
You opened the door when you saw who it was and Cassian stumbled into the room, “Since when do you lock the door?” He questioned, not even wondering why you were at his house so late at night.
Your heart was pounding in your chest as you looked at him, brows furrowed as you tried to figure out why he had come back and where he had been. He had shaved his beard off, leaving a light trail of stubble behind and his eyes seemed sadder than they had before. He looked like he had been through hell and back and you didnt know what had happened but every instinct in your body told you to hold him tight.
You just stood there as he walked in, looking at his mother as she sat on the sofa, “I’m sorry Cass, you cant stay here. Its not safe. There’s troopers everywhere now,” Maarva explained and you walked over, looking at the two.
You had never felt like you were intruding before but now as you stood there in his house, there was an awkward tension.
“The troopers got here fast,” Cassian stated, looking around.
You shook your head, thinking back to the day that the troopers bolted into Maarvas house where you were waiting for him. They had ransacked his entire room and the house, looking for some indication as to where he was and you werent going to tell them even if it meant that they killed you.
“They came the next day, kicked out pre-mor and took over the hotel. Ferrix is under imperial authorities,” you said, words spitting out like venom.
He turned to look at you. You seemed just as stressed out as he felt, bags under your eyes as you wrapped your cardigan closer around you. He wondered what had happened after he had left you to fend for yourself but he knew you were okay.
“You shouldn’t be here Cass,” you said, an almost bitterness to your voice. You had been the one to pick up the pieces after his mistake had done this to your city and to the peopl you cared about.
“I’m not going to ask what you’ve been doing but you need to think about this,” Maarva said, noticing the tense air in the room.
She had always thought that you and Cassian would be something one day but as you both stood here, you trying to conceal your anger towards him for the sake of diplomacy and him trying to hide his yearning for you after all the time apart she didnt know what to think.
“Someone turned me in,” Cassian said, almost spitting out the words as he turned to you.
“It wasnt me,” you said under his inquisitorial gaze and even though that’s not what he meant by looking at you, the damage had been done, ”It was Timm,” there was a shock on his face at the fact that one of his friends would be capable of doing something like that, “No point stewing over it, the corpus killed him when they were coming after you,”
Instinctively, your hand reacted up to your face, finger brushing over your temple and it was only now that he noticed a new scar there, deep and ragged and it sent an ache through his chest. There was so much guilt weighing down on him for what he did to the city of Ferrix but even more about what he did to you.
“The imperials are here to say,” Maarva said, interrupting the look between the two of you.
“You don’t have to worry about that, we’re getting out of here,” Cassian said as he crouched in front of his mother before turning to look at you, “All of us,”
You scoffed, “All of us?” You questioned and he nodded, looking at you with a smile.
“We can go anywhere we want. I got lucky and I scored enough credits to get us anywhere. We can leave this mess behind and we can go tonight,” he said, looking between you and Marva with a boyish smile that you hadnt seen in a very long time, “I can make it happen, it’s gonna be different now,”
You shook your head in disbelief, “That’s where you’ve been? Running around with what, smugglers? Mercenaries?” You questioned, scoffing as all the anger finally came out after over a month of worry for him.
“Let’s not argue now,” he said, brows furrowed and his smile falling from his face. He hadn’t released how mad you were at him and it took him aback.
“Its a lot to take in, you surprises me,” Maarva said with a shaky breath, looking away from the two of you.
He shook his head, “What am I thinking? Its late. You get some rest and we can talk tomorrow okay,” he said, a smile on his face as he watched his mother get out of her chair, patting her hand on his cheek before walking off into the bedroom.
When she left, he turned to you, brow furrowed as he started stalking closer towards you. You flinched when his hand came up, the coarse pad of his thumb brushing across the scar on your temple.
You couldn’t even meet his gaze as he looked at you with such an intense look. That intense side of Cassian used to make your stomach flip but now you just felt guilty, guilty for your little outburst and guilty that you hadnt been able to help him.
“You’ve been hurt,” he whispered, his voice breaking slightly at the end. That’s what made you turn to look back at him, eyes fluttering open as you looked into hs eyes. They were sad, a deep crease between his brows as he looked at you intently.
“Its nothing,” you said, stepping away from him, his hand falling from your face. You didnt want to think back to that day.
When he had been on the run, they had started to ransack Maarvas apartment. You aw it happening and pushed through the crowd and that’s when the fight with the pre-mor employees had started. You had barely done anything wrong before he was hitting you round the head with the but of his gun, knocking you to the floor before dragging you across the gravel in front of the angry residents of Ferrix.
Cassians hand grabbed your wrist before you could move too far away from him, stopping you from going anywhere and breaking you out of your thoughts.
“You’ve been hurt,” he repeated, this time an anger in his voice and it wasn’t focused on you, it was aimed towards the person who had done it.
“Let go of me Cass,” you said, the nickname still there even though you were mad at him. You shook your wrist free of his grip and stepped so your back was to him, hands coming up to your shoulders as you hugged youself.
“What happened when I was gone?” He questioned and you scoffed like the last month could be explained in a simple sentence.
“What happened? Ive been looking after your mother, I’ve been looking after this town and you’ve been running around doing maker knows what and I’m bored of having to pretended its okay!” You exclaimed.
He just stood there, almost shrinking in on himself as he listened to you. He had never thought about the effect that his absence wold have on you.
“I cant leave Ferrix,” you stated.
He shook his head at your statement, confused as to why, “Its not safe here,” he stated, eyes trailing up your cheek to the jagged wound there again, a pang of guilt seeping through his chest.
“You cant stay here,” you said and he knew what you were suggesting. You wanted him to leave you and Maarva there and be free but he couldn’t imagine that life without you.
“Ill be worried about you all the time,” he said and now you could see the tears brimming in his eyes at the idea of him leaving you.
You sighed, pursing your lips together in an ettempt to hold back your tears from spilling over your waterline, “That’s what love is Cass,” you said.
He furrowed his brows at your statement and that’s when you knew it was now or never. The words were spilling out before you even had the chance to stop them, “I love you Cass and I always have so when you run away and act like a child and leave me to pick up the piece, its not okay,” you explained, chest heaving and heart pounding as you finally admitted it, “The people here need me,”
“I love you too-” he started to sat, walking closer to you.
You backed up, eyes brimming with tears as you helped your hands out like it would top him getting away closer, “No, I love you,” you stated, words getting quiet as your never got the better of you.
It was like Cassian andor had been hit by a meteor. The entire world froze and he just looked at you with wide eyes, not sure how to respond to that. You had been his rock ever since you had met and when he was on Aldhani, you were really the only thing that was getting him through it.
His body was pulling him towards you like a magnet and in a matter of seconds, his lips were pressed forcefully against yours and after a second off shock, you kissed back, hands entangling themselves into his hair.
You had been dreaming of this moment since your were a little kid and now you had it and you werent going to let go of him. He pulled away, hand caressing your skin, “And I love you too, and that’s why you’re coming with me,” he said, mumbling into your lips and you nodded.
That's all you needed as confirmation to pack up your things snd finally escape. You had wanted to leave and now nothing was holding you back. Sure, you'd both be worried about maarva but you'd come and visit one day once you'd built your future together.
Less than a month later, you woke up in the bed on Niamos. It was a small beach planet that you and Cassian were basically honeymooning on and you realised that you’d never been so at peace before as wrapped up in his arms.
“We have to get up,” he muttered into the skin of your neck, pressing a kiss to the mark he had left the night before.
You groaned, grabbing onto his hands that rested on your bare abdomen, “Five minutes Andor,” you begged and he chuckled into your neck, brushing your hair out of your face before turning you so you had to look at him.
“I have to get us breakfast,” he said and you rolled your eyes as you watched him pull away from you, bare chest
Your breath hitched in your throat as you thought back to the previous night and he smirked as he pulled a shirt over his head, turning to look at you as you pulled on your bottom lip with your teeth.
“Ill get food and then we can spend the rest of day in bed baby,” he said, walking over and muttering some nickname in Kenari. You knew it was a term of endearment from the way it fell soft from his tongue and then he pressed a kiss to your cheek before walking to the door.
“Ill come with you, just give me a minute,” you said before getting changed, following him out of the door.
You walked through the sunny beaches and smiled at Cassian, his hand enveloped in yours. You had never been as happy as you were in this moment and little did you know it was all about to be taken away from you.
“Ill go look at the menu then Ill be back out,” you said, pressing a kiss to his cheek before walkig into the restaurant, aa smile on both of your faces.
Cassian looked around. He had never been this happy before and it was all because of you. He couldn’t believe it had taken him this long to tell you how he felt but now that he had you, you werent going to be going anywhere.
That’s when he was encountered by a K2 droid, snapping him out of his daydream of a future with you as he was accused of being involved in rebel activity. He tried to protest but it was no use because the next thing that happened was him being pulled away and knocked to the floor.
Ypu walked out, a smile on your face as you held two paper menus up but your smile fell from your face when you realsied you couldn’t see him. Your heart skipped a beat when you saw him being dragged away by a K2 droid and you started to rush forward before a local grabbed you.
You turned and looked back at her, “Your boyfriend is gone, you will be gone too if you go,” she tried to convince and by the time you managed to escape, he was nowhere to be found.
You had lost everything you'd ever had in a second and you were going to search every inch of the galaxy for him. Every inch.

The Storm
Tumblr media
Pairing: Cassian x Reader
Summary: The follow up to Stuck - Cassian takes you to see that beautiful sky he told you about but the two of you get caught in a storm
Warnings: None! Just some more fluff for our secret softy Cassian
Word Count: 1,820
Comments: I did it! I wrote a short part 2 to Stuck, please enjoy 💕 I may have a smut idea for part 3 as well
Tumblr media
What started off as a soft pitter patter of rain had swiftly turned into a torrential downpour. The sound of thunder and raindrops hitting the leaves above filled the air. Cassian heard the gleeful giggle you let out as you both ran for cover, splashing through puddles as you went. He couldn’t help but feel like a naive boy again, the words of Maarva ringing through his head ‘you’ll get ill if you stay out much longer.’
Cassian reached back for your hand, lacing his fingers with your own as you both continued running back to the ship. He glanced back at you and couldn’t help but smile at your joyful expression.
You both bundled into the U-wing, your heavy breaths and the rain hitting the roof echoed around you. Neither of you could contain the laughter that erupted once your eyes met. Cassian couldn’t remember the last time he’d truly enjoyed himself like this. It felt easy, being with you.
The two of you were completely soaked, a small puddle was forming around your feet. His hair was stuck down to his forehead and he could feel droplets freely racing down his face. He noticed that the shirt you wore, once slightly baggy, was now gripping to the contours of your body.
‘I’m sorry about this,’ Cassian said as his laughter died down. He’d finally managed to take you off base, he knew he technically wasn’t clear to fly yet but he wasn’t going to let the opportunity to spend time with you slip by. He couldn’t help but feel like the rain had ruined your trip away from the base.
‘Hey, not like you can control the weather, right?’ you replied. Your laughter had slowed but Cassian was pleased to see that your smile didn’t falter.
‘Yeah I know, I just really wanted you to see that sky,’ he sighed as he turned back to the open door, staring up at the storm clouds above. Cassian felt you move to stand next to him, joining him in looking to the sky.
‘Looks like we’re destined to only spend time together in small metal spaces,’ you joked. The corner of his mouth turned up into a smile, briefly thinking about how you met. You both stayed like that for a moment, content just standing side by side in each other's company.
As the seconds passed Cassian noticed you beginning to shiver, the coldness of your damp clothes beginning to set in. ‘Shit, I’m sorry I don’t know if there are any spare clothes on here,’ he said as he instantly began looking through compartments for something to help.
‘D-don’t worry if th-theres nothing, it’s not t-too bad,’ you completely lied. Cassian couldn’t help but feel guilty listening to your teeth chatter as you spoke. He glanced over at you as you tried to hide how cold you were.
‘Not too bad? Your lips are turning blue,’ he stated as he went back to digging through an overhead compartment. He finally found something and said ‘these could work,’ as he pulled out  two bright orange flight suits, you stifled a laugh as soon as you laid eyes on them. He knew they weren’t exactly the nicest but he’d much rather not have to watch you freeze to death. He passed the suit over to you and watched as you moved over to the back of the ship to change. His eyes travelled down your body, admiring the way your clothes clung to your curves. As his eyes travelled back up he realised he’d been caught staring at you again, he quickly turned his back to you giving you privacy to get changed.
He pushed all thoughts of you undressing to the back of his mind as he quickly shed his damp clothes, replacing them with the flight suit. He heard the faint sound of your zipper and took a chance glancing over his shoulder. You had the flight suit on and Cassian had to hold back a chuckle at how baggy it was on you compared to the clothes you’d just had on. He quietly made his way towards you, but as he got closer he noticed you were still trembling.
‘You’re still shivering,’ he spoke quietly, trying not to startle you. You jumped slightly, clearly not expecting him to be so close. You turned to face him, peering up to meet his eyes and he felt the overwhelming need to take care of you. ‘Is this okay?’ he asked as his hands reached out to you, gently pulling you in by your waist.
He held you in a tight embrace and prayed you wouldn’t feel the way his heart was pounding in his chest. You didn’t verbally answer him, instead wrapping your arms around his middle, holding onto him just as tightly as he was to you. Maker this felt nice, that familiar warm feeling you brought seeped into Cassian, radiating all over his whole body. He felt comfortable with you, he felt safe and he felt like he could be a better man with you in his arms.
‘Feeling better?’ he whispered softly, as if anything louder would burst this bubble of serenity you had made yourselves.
‘Much better, thank you,’ you replied, though neither of you made any movement to let go of each other. He took a deep breath and was instantly surrounded by your scent, it was as if all the tension he’d been carrying was washing away. Cassian’s eyes settled on the open door, watching the rain fall. Suddenly Cassian noticed a faint glow illuminating the raindrops outside.  A light smile graced his face, ‘hey, look,’ he broke the silence.
You reluctantly pulled your head away from his chest to look outside. You looked confused initially. It looked as though the rain falling just outside had a weird glow to it, maybe it was just reflecting the colour of the leaves around you.
Cassian chuckled as he took in your confused expression. He moved behind you and lightly grasped your shoulders, guiding you to the still open door. He lent into your ear and whispered ‘look up.’ He watched as your gaze wandered upwards, your eyes following the bright rain. When your eyes met the sky you gasped, above you through a gap in the clouds you could see what Cassian had told you about.
The sky looked as though it was alive, vibrant hues of green danced and swirled in unpredictable patterns. You felt tears prick at the corners of your eyes, it was as if the galaxy had opened up for you and Cassian to see.
‘Cassian…it's magical,’ you managed to murmur. Cassian hummed in agreement as he moved to your side. Instead of looking up to the sky though Cassian had kept his eyes set firmly on you. He watched as your eyes lit up with the different colours and the lights danced across your hair and skin, truly making you glow. To Cassian there was nothing more he’d rather be looking at than you. You’d walked into his life completely by chance and he couldn’t comprehend how he’d gotten so lucky.
After a few moments you looked over to Cassian, once again catching him looking at you, although this time he didn’t avert his eyes. ‘Are you okay?’ you asked as you reached up to softly brush a stray hair away from his face. He kept his gaze steady as he smiled bashfully down to you.
‘I’ve never been better,’ Cassian replied, and he truly meant it. The tension between you grew tenfold as you stared into each other's eyes, watching the flecks of green reflected in them. Cassian thought you were beautiful from the moment he’d first laid eyes on you, but here, completely basked in the light glow of the sky,  you looked heavenly.
He wanted to stay here in this moment with you forever and he desperately wanted to tell you what he was feeling but the words wouldn’t come to him. Raising his hands up to cup your cheeks he decided to show you instead. He looked between your eyes, searching for any affirmation that you were feeling the same as him. You leaned into his touch and that's all the confirmation he needed to lean in and plant a tender kiss on your lips.
His lips felt as though they were tingling as you parted. Cassian knew he would cherish this moment for nights to come. Before he could move back too far he heard you whisper ‘do that again, please.’ He grinned and happily obliged, as his lips connected with yours, your hands grasped onto the front of his flight suit. He slid a hand round to hold the back of your neck, deepening the kiss and allowing himself to fully sink into the moment.
The kiss wasn’t urgent, it was gentle and unhurried. The warmth of your body pushed into him, allowing him to feel your heart beating against his chest. Time had slowed down around you both, suspending you in a perfect moment; a moment where Cassian could clearly see what he wanted his future to be, where the empire didn’t exist and neither did the resistance.
The kiss ended as tenderly as it started and you both looked into each other's eyes, smiling like a pair of lovesick teenagers. ‘You’re missing the sky,’ Cassian mumbled to you.
‘You did bring me all the way out here to see it,’ you tipped your head up to plant a light kiss on his lips. ‘It would be a shame to miss it.’ You gave Cassian another quick kiss before turning once again to look up at the sky.
Cassian was already addicted to having you close to him, he made his way behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist. He just felt so content feeling your body pressed against his own. He knew he probably shouldn’t be getting too attached to you, he was going to be going out on missions again soon, it wasn’t fair on you but Cassian had never felt like this before. He wanted to forget about everything and just be with you.
As you placed your hands over his, he turned his head slightly, his lips grazing over your neck. ‘I never want to let you go,’ he whispered. Your body shivered at his words, he knew he’d fallen hard and fast but he just couldn’t help it. You were the hope he needed, he never really pictured a future past the resistance but you were everything he didn’t realise he wanted.
‘Thank you for tonight,’ you whispered sweetly into the cool air.
‘Anytime, just tell me where you want to go next,’ he smiled into your neck.
As you both stood there Cassian knew he would do anything to keep you safe. He made a silent promise that night to always come back to you.

Post-Flight Checklist - Cassian Andor
Cassian is still a fresh face in the Rebellion, but you two already have a rapport of sorts.
Tumblr media
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!”
You waved your hands wildly, alongside the rest of the landing crew. The U-Wing was coming in hot. Too hot. The roar of the engines burned out into a whining whir. Sick, the sound was sick, like a Bantha wheezing through a fatal bout of Brownlung.
“He’s pushin’ ‘er too hard,” snapped one of your fellows. You glanced over at the owner of the voice: a Quarren man, tentacle mouth agape and unleashing a string of curses in a language you didn’t understand. But you knew rage when you heard it.
You heard it in your own heartbeat. Felt it pulsing in your chest, even as the U-Wing landed intact. Intact, aside from a few pieces of siding that had caught on reentry. Those of the landing crew armed with fire extinguishers, the Quarren among them, rushed to put out the flames while you watched in your rage. Watched, and unhooked the post-flight checklist from your belt before you crossed your arms, displeased.
The state of this poor ship required an explanation and you were sure to get one.
Luckily, you knew the pilot.
But the sliding door was stuck. The landing crew pushed and pulled at it, but the metal failed to budge. Flames licked up the sides, making it impossible for their hands to dislodge the space debris sticking the door. Rage burned and echoed out into fear, something sharper.
Your arms fell to your sides, fingers curling tight around the checklist as you stood, helpless. The Quarren shouted orders and the landing crew reassembled to the left side of the door. As a group, they slammed their shoulders against the piece. The U-Wing bent and swayed with the force, eventually loosening the metal stuck in the slide. A second later, in a rush of grey-green smoke, the door fell open.
The pilot you knew stumbled out, face ashen and stern; but not scared. He was never scared and that infuriated you, even more than the sight of the smoldering ship. Fear and rage burned together as Cassian Andor neared you. Fearless as ever, and alive.
Tanned skin seemed even more sunkissed up close and you bit back a snarky comment about fire and first-degree burns. His hair was an inky mess that stuck to his face with sweat. Never had you seen brown eyes so cold, but how quickly they warmed when Cassian saw you. He didn’t even stop to talk as he stepped by your side, know that you would fall into step beside him as he continued walking. You did, as you always did when he returned.
“Here to scold me?”
“I should,” you pressed, “that was your roughest landing yet. The crew is going to be working on that for ages. The repairs-”
“Will keep them busy, yeah?” He glanced to the side and gave you a wry grin. You felt that burning rage in your chest ebb at his look, shifting into a comforting warmth. It almost numbed you to truly realizing his words, the lack of care behind them. Almost.
“Too busy!” You finally fired back. “I know you’re still learning the ropes of this Rebellion, but we’re always busy, and adding to that, unnecessarily, is not good.”
“Learning the ropes of this Rebellion.” Cassian shook his head and turned away from you, clicking his tongue. “Like you say, we are busy. Learning is done on the job. I am doing the job.”
Rage. You heard it again, this time in his voice. With the post-flight checklist in one hand, you reached out with the other and closed around Cassian’s wrist. Much to your surprise, he stalled in his tracks and looked back at you. For a moment, you saw him as he looked when he first came to the Rebellion: cold but hotheaded, even more so than at present, with a face far too old for his age. He had learned far too much when far too young. You all had.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” you murmured, “I’m sorry.”
Cassian stayed quiet but twisted his wrist free from your grip. You let him go easily, knowing that his unyieldingness so often fed his anger, you had seen it in nearly every meeting held since he arrived. Yet, he surprised you again when his fingers brushed against your knuckles as he turned the data-pad that presented the checklist towards him. He eyed it for a moment before glancing up to meet your eyes.
“You want me to fill this out?”
You shook your head. “It can be done later if you need to-” you tipped your head deeper into the depths of the base “-give a mission report.”
“No, we can do it now.”
You cocked your brow at him when his hand wrapped around yours and pulled you to the side. He gave you a dry look, a wordless ‘c’mon’ that only added to your confusion. Cassian didn’t wait for you to understand. He simply pulled you after him, down one of the storage hallways and into an empty conference room.
It is dark, but you can see the warmth glimmering in his eyes. All coldness melted away as he took the checklist from your hand and tossed it aside on the long table. Then, both his hands were holding yours, pinning them against the wall at your back.
His lips were on yours soon after. Warm, like his eyes. Something like rage heated his touch, but with a softness you were sure was so far from it.
“Cassian,” you said his name in a rush as his mouth pressed against the sensitive skin of your neck. “We can do this later.”
He pulled away then, panting softly. His breath fanned out across your face until you were breathing him in. “Do you want to?”
“Want to?” You were still recovering from his touch.
“Do this later?”
Later. When would that be? Before his next mission or after yours? Yours eyes flicked to the glowing screen of hte post-flight checklist. You couldn’t recall the last time you had Cassian fill one out. Each time you tried, it always ended like this, like you and him asking about time. There was no time.
So much of it had been wasted already.
“No,” you replied at last, meeting his eyes with the same warmth he wore, “now.”
He grinned and looked young and kissed you again.

★★★★★★★★
You were surprised when you woke to find Cassian gone, a note on the counter to let you know he had to go off-world for something unexpected. But that he’d be home tonight, tomorrow at the latest.
“This doesn’t sound good,” you say to yourself before the patio door opens behind you and you find that Cassian has left Kay behind.
“You’re awake,” Kay says. “Arseven and I were tending to the garden. The berries along the fence should be ripe soon—”
You cut the droid off “Where is he?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Can’t or won’t?”
“He doesn’t want you involved.”
“And he left you home, what, to take care of me?”
Arseven comes through the patio door carrying a basket of fresh vegetables, which she hands to Kay before tapping your leg with one of her little arms, whistling and beeping: I take care of you.
Your heart is beating faster now and you pour yourself a glass of water if only to have something to do with your hands.
“Cassian said I wouldn’t be welcome where he’s going,” Kay says in his usual dry tone. “But I’m not particularly welcome on this planet either, am I?”
Like most days, Kay is wearing a scarf. This one is woven cotton, red and black—something you’d picked up at a local market. You’d given Kay his first scarf not long after you’d started dating Cassian. It was a way for him to signal his independence to the galaxy. To let folks know he wasn’t a danger to them.
“Where is he?” you ask again. “Do I need to be worried?”
You realize Cassian’s jacket—the one with the Rebellion starbird on the shoulder—is hanging on the hook by the door. Where it’s supposed to be. But he never hangs it there. It’s always slung over a chair or the back of the couch. You reach into the pockets of the jacket and pull out his com device.
You hold it up for Kay to see. “What the hell is going on?” you ask.
Arseven chirps at Kay, whistles low. Share why.
“You, too, Seven?”
“She only knows what I’m going to tell you,” Kay says. “A childhood friend of his asked for help. He didn’t know this person was even alive and is worried that it may be a trap. But he felt he had to try.”
“And you let him go?”
“I told him it was a bad idea.”
You feel tears in your eyes. Cassian has told you so many times that he’s not a soldier anymore. Not a spy. Recently you’ve realized he doesn’t even carry a blaster anymore—not most of the time. You go to the garage and punch in the code on the weapons locker, finding it nearly empty. Where could he be that he can’t bring Kay or his com but needs to be heavily armed? Cassian has seen some of the most lawless places in the galaxy, and your heart hurts to think that that’s the kind of place where he might be right now.
“Do you need a hug?” Kay asks.
You turn to the droid, almost as if to check that this is the same K-X droid you’ve been sharing your life with for the past several years. He’s holding his arms out, and it seems so unusual, this posture.
“Since when do you do hugging?”
“Cassian said I had to.”
But you do need a hug, so you let Kay wrap his metal arms around you.
“Can you contact him?”
“Cassian is currently out of range.”
You take a deep breath in, slowly let it out.
Arseven lets out a series of whistles and beeps. Need an activity.
“You’re right,” you say. “There’s something I need to finish, and today is a better day than most to get it done.”
Seven is already rolling into your office—a room that you and Cassian had recently transformed into a space that could almost also serve as something of a studio. Your sewing machine is out on one of the tables, and when you get to it, Seven is already pulling the pieces of your project from a drawer.
“When he does get home,” you tell Seven, “I’m going to be so angry with him. I’m already angry. But it will be worse for him, won’t it? Whatever he’s doing…it sounds overwhelming. Maybe it will be nice for him to have something soft, something that brings back good memories.”
Seven projects the photo of the stuffed bantha, one exactly like the one his mother had given him when he was young, a toy he kept into his adulthood, before things got…complicated. The events that transpired between when he left home and when he joined the rebellion weren’t something he ever really talked about with you. But a few months back, after a few glasses of wine, Cassian saw the toy in an old holofilm, his breath hitching slightly as he said he’d had the same one, that he kept it on a shelf in his room even after he outgrew plush toys.
Arseven pats one of her tiny arms on your materials and chirps: Perfect replica.
“I don’t know about that, Seven,” you said, holding the yet-to-be stuffed toy in you hands, your fingers aching to know if this was the right fabric to choose. Is it too soft? Not soft enough? “It’s not perfect. But it might be close.”
*
You were startled awake by the sound of someone pounding on your door, your heart already racing when you sat straight up on the sofa. You’d been reading a book last you remembered, maybe resting your eyes a little. And now it sounded like there was a tornado in the hallway outside your apartment.
“I’m coming,” you yelled, easing yourself off the couch as quickly as you could despite the stiff ache in your joints.
When you opened the door, you found Cassian looking disheveled in a hoodie and jeans. He swept you into his arms, kissed your forehead, squeezing you tight as he said, “Thank kriff, I was so worried.”
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“Last night you told me you were feeling strange,” he said. “So when you weren’t answering your com—it’s not like you. I couldn’t stop thinking that maybe you were hurt…or that maybe something—”
“Slow down,” you told him. He released his grip, perhaps just now realizing how tightly he was holding you, giving you the space to take his face in your hands. You swept his messy hair out from out of his eyes. “Look at me. I’m okay. My com link has just been acting up, remember?”
“I remember now.” He pressed his forehead to yours and sighed.
It had only been nine months or so since you’d met Cassian, and there were times when this kind of intensity was a lot for you. But today you didn’t mind. And you lead him to the sofa where you wrapped a blanket around the both of you, cuddling into his chest.
“I just need a new com device,” you said. “And I’m going to get one after I finish work tomorrow.
You sat in the quiet for a while, the sound of children playing outside your building the only thing you could hear other than his heartbeat.
“You get dizzy when you panic,” he said. “When I was on Coruscant for work last month—”
Your anxiety had spiraled after a difficult doctor’s visit followed by a bumpy cab ride home and you’d ended up fainting in your kitchen. It had only been for a second but the way you’d crashed into a chair had left a nasty bruise on your hip.
“I can’t control it. When my body starts in that direction, I just have to try not to fall.”
“I know it’s not your fault,” he said. “I know what it’s like. But I have Kay.” He closed his eyes and sighed. “My heart, I never want you to be hurt and alone ever again.”
“You know, I’ve been alone for a long time, Cass.”
“Not anymore,” he whispered.
He kissed you softly, cradling your jaw in his hand. Something unwound in you as you threaded your fingers through his soft hair, a letting go of trepidation, somehow knowing that if there had ever been any turning back from falling hard for this man, that offramp was no longer an option.
“I never thought I’d let myself get this close to someone again.” Cassian said.
“I’m glad you did,” you replied.
“I should explain.”
“You don’t have to.”
“I want to,” he said, stroking your cheek. “There were a lot of times that I should have been there for people. People who cared about me even when I was at my worst.” His voice was low and he took a deep breath as he almost unconsciously began to caress your sore back. And then he laughed—a familiar laugh not of joy but discomfort. “I think sometimes about how my mother wouldn’t even turn the heat on unless I was home to make sure she did. And there were a lot of times when I wasn’t home.”
You laid your head back down on his chest and he wrapped both arms around you. Neither of you was particularly good at this kind of conversation. So you listened to the steady beat of his heart as he kissed the top of your head.
“It’s terrifying, isn’t it?” you asked.
“What is?”
“This closeness. How you’ve allowed me to really know you, and to have you. But I know some of the things you did during the war. I try not to think about it but there are definitely beings out there who wish you harm. You might have Kay, but every time you go off-planet I worry that something—”
“Listen to me, my heart” he said. “There is no one in this galaxy that could keep me from coming home to you. Do you understand me?”
“It’s not that simple.”
“I will make it that simple.”
When you saw the look in his eyes, you believed him.
*
It’s after dark when you hear Cassian’s landspeeder pull into the garage, the back door clicking shut, a bag dropping with some weight to the floor. You’re in your office cleaning up, but Cassian is apologizing while he’s still in the kitchen, an ache in his voice apparent as he calls your name.
“I know you’re upset with me,” he says, “but I’m ready to make it up to you, if you’ll allow it.”
You’re standing in the hallway when he sees you, stopping abruptly, beginning his nervous habit of running a hand through his hair only to find he’s tied it back. Even in the dim evening light, you spot an oil stain on the henley he’s wearing, a tear on the sleeve near his elbow that, upon further scrutiny, looks like a blaster burn.
“You were shot at today,” you say.
He rolls up the sleeve and peels back a bacta patch to reveal a small wound that’s mostly healed. “Just a graze,” he says. “My heart, I promise, it’s over.”
“Don’t,” you say. “Not tonight.”
Cassian nods, averting his eyes, eventually saying softly, “I understand.”
“No,” you say, shaking your head. “Come here.”
He sweeps you into his arms, kissing your hair, your cheek, your neck as he cradles your head against his shoulder. “If there had been any other way.”
“I know.” It’s hard to be angry when you’ve also spent your whole day afraid for him, and now he’s here, holding you tight, an injury perhaps his own natural consequence.
“Where’s Kay?”
“You know how he gets when he has to keep secrets from me—I sent him and Seven on an errand. He’ll be back soon, but you should let him know you’re home if you haven’t already.”
“Right,” he says. “Let me go get my com.”
You settle into the sofa, doing your best to hold back tears. As hard as this is for you, you don’t know what it’s like to have everyone you love taken away from you over and over and over again. To feel like you are responsible for this loss. Cassian has done so much work to heal over the last ten years. But he’s still a man. Whatever he did today, he is carrying it and so much more with him right now.
When he sits next to you on the sofa, he has a blanket with him—it looks like the one he usually keeps for you on his U-Wing.
“You took your own ship today?”
“No,” he says. “But I know how much you love that blanket, I thought you might like one for the house. So I made a stop on the way back, found that artist’s stall.”
He’s pulling you toward him, the blanket wrapped around the both of you when he sees what you’ve set on the living room table for him to find.
“Where did you get that?” he asks, almost panicked for a split second before remembering where he is
“The toy?” you ask, “I made it. It’s not exactly the same, but—”
He reaches for it, taking it in both hands, his fingers running carefully over the different fabrics, the little button eyes.
“Thought you might need a nice memory tonight,” you said. “Even if I’m angry. I know this probably wasn’t an easy day for you.”
“You made this today?” He asks, not taking his eyes off of the plush bantha in his hands.
“I started it a while back,” you said. “But I needed a project today, so I finished it.”
He has tears in his eyes when he looks at you and asks, “I know today was hell for you. Why are you so good to me?”
“Cassian,” you say, “even on our worst days, you’re still everything to me.”
“This is…so much,” he says, struggling for words. “This means…just so much.”
“We’ll talk about today when you’re ready. Right now—”
“Right now I hope you’ll just let me take care of you,” he says, kissing your forehead. “Have you eaten?”
“I thought we could order something when you got home.”
“Okay,” he says, putting the little bantha back on the table. “I’m here. And I don’t care if you want dumplings from Tatooine. You will have them.”
*
Cassian had come to know your kitchen as well as he knew his in the last few months and was now sautéing vegetables on your stove, having insisted on making you dinner. You’d been a bit surprised the first time he’d cooked for you—he hadn’t seemed like the kind of man who would know how to follow a recipe, let alone work without one. He’d made a quick trip to the local grocer and come back with ingredients for one of your favorite comfort meals.
“Are you sure you don’t need my help?” you called from your cozy spot on the couch. “I don’t think I’ve even done dishes this week.”
“It’s taken care of,” he said. “After scaring you like that it’s the least I can do. Your neighbors probably think I’m a maniac.”
“They can think what they want. I know who you are.”
He added the vegetables to a large pan, which he then placed in the oven before joining you on the sofa.
“You do, don’t you?” he said.
You took Cassian’s jaw in your hand, caressing his short beard. And he leaned in, resting his forehead against yours for just a moment before kissing you, delicately at first, his lips capturing yours like a promise, before the kiss deepened with a hunger you felt as well, a need to be as physically close as possible to this man.
You ran your hands along the hem of Cassian’s shirt, soon letting your fingers wander over the warm skin of his stomach.
“Right now?” he asked.
“If you want to,” you said. “How long do we have before dinner?”
“Long enough.”
He stood, then pulled his shirt over his head, tossing it to the sofa and you threw your arms around his neck as you both started down the hall, discarding items of clothing as you went, finally in you bedroom, throwing back the covers and sliding into the sheets together.
“My heart,” Cassian said, his warm brown eyes almost sparkling as he looked at you, almost like he could see your every desire. “I love you so much. And it does frighten me. But I need you to know that there is nothing I wouldn’t do for you.”
“I know,” you said, lacing your fingers through his hair. “I love you, too, Cassian. More than anything.”
*
When you wake, for a split second you’re on the edge of panic, sitting straight up as you come out of a nightmare with the gut feeling that you’ve found yourself in an empty bed again, Cassian gone, perhaps never coming back.
But then he’s there, his hand gentle on your shoulder as he eases you back into bed. “I’m right here,” he says.
“What?” you ask, still foggy from sleep.
“You were calling my name,” Cassian says, his sleepy eyes looking straight into yours. He pulls you close. “You feel feverish. Were you having a nightmare?”
“It’s a blur,” you say, “but…you were gone again.”
“I’m so sorry, my heart.” He kisses your forehead. “Yesterday…it won’t ever happen again.”
“Can you promise that?”
“I think so.”
“Okay,” You say. “That’s good enough for now.”
When Cassian kisses you, sweet and soft, a calm washes over you and you let yourself melt into him, snuggling back under the sheets as he holds you close.
“Did you find your friend, Cassian?”
“Yes,” he says. “I did.”
“Is he safe now?”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
“But I’d rather focus on you now,” Cassian says, pressing another gentle kiss to your lips. “I am yours. All day. Whatever you want to do.”
This, of course, is a hint that he’s not ready to tell you about his friend, or what happened the day before. Your tuck his hair behind his ear, smoothing out his bedhead, caressing his face before running your fingertips over his shoulders and along his bicep. Recently he’d had a feather tattooed along the inside of his left arm, covering an old injury. It was a feather from a bird native to Kenari—a bird that was likely extinct now along with most creatures from the planet where your husband was born. He is a survivor, and with that, you know, comes a heavy burden.
“I'm just so glad you’re here,” you say.
“So am I, my heart,” He says, easing your head onto his shoulder, kissing your forehead. “The weather has been so nice lately. Do you want to take a picnic to the park? Maybe see what’s going on downtown? I think the waffle cart is open on weekends now.”
“That sounds perfect,” you say, even though a part of you wants to stay in bed with Cassian all day, your bodies close and unshared with the rest of the world.
But soon you’ve found the same grassy spot where Cassian proposed to you all those years ago. It’s early fall in your quadrant of Ralltiir, and it’s hard not to notice the butterflies that are everywhere, stopping in your city briefly on their journey south for the winter. One has perched on Cassian’s knee, and he’s frozen in place so as not to disturb it as it flexes its wings open and closed. You offer the butterfly your finger and it quickly climbs on. You bring it closer to your face so you can better see its colors.
“Is there a creature in the world that doesn’t trust you?” Cassian asks.
“You should have met the tooka-cat when I first took him in,” you tell him as the butterfly takes off into the wind. “He hid in the cupboard under the sink for two weeks. Wanted nothing to do with me.”
“But he came around,” he says.
“So did you.”
You lean into Cassian’s embrace as he tips your chin toward him, kissing you like you’re not in a crowded park. Like it’s the first night he kissed you, just inside the doorway of your old apartment, already perhaps knowing this would be the first kiss of so, so many down the years. With your arms around his neck you run your thumb along your wedding ring, thinking only of how complete your life feels with this man in it, even on the days when he exhausts you.
When he rests his forehead against yours, whisps of his hair tickling your cheeks, he says, “My heart, from the moment you let me in, there was no turning back from you.”
“You’re an extraordinary man, Cassian Andor,” you say. “And you owe me a dessert waffle.”
“I owe you so much more,” he says, rising to his feet and then helping you up off the ground. “But if what you want right now is a waffle, I can make that happen.”
With his arm around your waist, you make your way to your favorite waffle cart, parked just down the street. As you’re about to get in line, Cassian kisses your temple, whispers in your ear, “Thank you for being my home.”
And before you can reply, he captures your lips with his, the smile in his eyes also present in his kiss, and you throw your arms around his neck laughing, the smell of sugar in the air, knowing that whatever unfinished business Cassian is dealing with, whatever lead him to take off without warning yesterday—it will be all right. It might take some time to sort out, but you’ve both seen each other through hard things before. One more hard thing won’t break you.
★★★★★★★★
Thank you so much for reading! I really wanted to write something that somehow incorporated some of the elements we have from the first 5 episodes of Andor. I’m sure episode 6 will break my headcanon again, but that’s fine.I’ll just…edit. I hope this fic makes you feel seen and loved!
I have a taglist now! Sign up here if you want to be tagged in future fics. (And choose if you only want to be tagged for certain characters.) In the meantime, I’m tagging my taglist as well as some folks who have been reblogging my fics. Love y’all!

The first night he saw you, he knew nothing was going to stop you. The first time you walked into the room, he could tell you decided that he were going to be yours. He saw it in your eyes, the way you looked him up and down, a twinkle in your eyes. And, he didn’t mind. He didn’t mind, because it was you. There was a warmth to you, a sort of kindness, that he hadn’t experienced in so long. Cassian Andor had become accustomed to coldness and distance and being kept at arm’s length. It was the nature of his profession. One doesn’t become a spy for the Rebellion by cozying up to people. Though, he mused, it had worked well enough for you.
He remembered you tripping over your feet as you walked by the booth he was sat at. He remembered practically jumping out of his seat, reaching out, steadying you, stopping you from falling flat on your face. He remembered your quiet gasp at the feeling of his hands on your waist. (He remembered wanting you to make that sound again and again and again.) He remembered offering you a seat at his booth, the way you smiled appreciatively at him.
“Do I get to know the name of the kind gentleman who’s helped me?” you asked as you settled in your seat, your eyes practically twinkling as you peered over at him.
“I don’t know how much of a gentleman I am,” he said. That much was true. He had seen too many things, done too many things, to be called a gentleman. That part of him wanted to run the other way, if only to preserve you. You didn’t deserve to be tainted by him.
“Perhaps because you don’t see yourself the way others see you.”
“Perhaps because I know how others see me,” he said.
“Let me convince you otherwise,” you practically purred, leaning in closer to him.
He swallowed hard, realizing how close you were to him. He had been sitting alone in a booth before you came over, his arm slung over the back of it, his legs spread out, taking up more room than perhaps was necessary. He had resumed that position after he helped you, finding it more comfortable than any other way he could have sat. Now, you were mere inches away, practically tucked under his arm. You were close enough that he could smell the soap you used. He could smell how you were clean and fresh. Did you really want to be dirtied by him?
“Cassian,” he said. Would he regret this? Perhaps. But, Maker, he wanted to feel something good for once. “My name is Cassian.”
“Well, Cassian, I think you and I are going to have a lot of fun together.”
He wanted to laugh at the thought. Fun? During times like these? It seemed more like a far flung hope than anything that could become reality. But as he looked at you, he wanted to believe it. He wanted to have a life that was simple, carefree, fun. He wanted it all.
“Then lead the way.”
You became a near permanent fixture in his life after that. It wasn’t uncommon for you to appear when he was least expecting it, presenting him with a gift you’d found for him on a mission, or telling him a story about a mistake a rookie made, or struggling to tell a joke to him because you can’t stop giggling your way through it. It made him wonder where you had been before. It made him wonder what life had been like before you.
Being around you was nice. Cassian was used to slipping into the background. He was used to going unnoticed. He used to prefer it. But then you came around. And you saw him. You heard him. You remembered him. When he mentioned that he was going on a mission with someone he hated, you always offered him something nice when he got back. When he could barely keep his eyes open but still needed to work, you would bring him caf with cream because you knew he couldn’t stand the bitter taste of the drink but still enjoyed the energy it would bring him. When the nights were quiet and he found himself in your bunk, desperately seeking comfort, you would let him lay on your chest, card your fingers through his hair, and let him talk about the life he used to have, the life he long since left behind.
Now that you were a part of his life, Cassian wasn’t quite sure he could ever live without you. He didn’t want to.
Sometimes, he wondered what he should call what he had with you. Was it a relationship? Were the two of you just friends? It certainly felt like something more. Should he ask you for clarification? Or should he let it be? Why kick a gift horse in the mouth, after all?
The answer became clear, however, when after months of dancing through his feelings, the two of you were assigned to a mission together. As excited as Cassian was to have a reason to spend time with you, he nevertheless dreaded the mission. It was relatively simple. An Imperial ball was to be held. You would go in as the entertainment, he would go in as a member of the waitstaff. If you remained as the entertainment, it wouldn’t be so bad. But Cassian knew that you would have to sidle up to an Imperial officer, look at the bastard with the sweet eyes you reserved for him, so you could retrieve invaluable information.
Worse, perhaps, was how much you seemed to be enjoying yourself. You giggled and laughed and smiled at the officer. You leaned into his side, ran your fingers along his jaw. You leaned in close, whispered into his ear. Worse, you climbed onto the officer’s lap, locking eyes with Cassian, It took everything in him not to blow his cover right then and there.
That night, you didn’t leave his bunk as he told you over and over and over again that he was yours, that you were his.
In the morning, he woke before you. You had stolen the sheets in the middle of the night, leaving Cassian with only a corner of the blanket covering him below the waist. He didn’t mind. He would give anything for you. He shuffled closer to you, pulling your body against his. You let a contented noise, smiling in your sleep. Oh. He liked that.
Cassian lifted his hand, caressing your face. He ran his thumb over the swell of your cheek. A rare smile, a smile that became more common in your presence, settled on his face. He liked how soft you were. He liked knowing that you trusted him with that softness. It made him feel like he was a good man.
As he admired you, you slowly opened your eyes, your smile growing as you realized he was still there. “Good morning, handsome,” you said, your voice thick with tiredness.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked, leaning his forehead against yours.
“Mhm,” you hummed. You nuzzled your face into the spot where his neck met his shoulder. His breath hitched at the feeling of your breath tickling him. “Can I tell you something?”
“Of course,” he said without missing a beat. “You can tell me anything.”
“When we first met…none of it was accidental.” You lifted your head, watching closely for his reaction. “When I first saw you, I decided that nothing was going to stop me until you were mine. Everything from that point forward was a carefully laid plan.”
Cassian huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. A smirk settled on his face as he said, “You think I don’t know? You had my heart at the first step in your plan. Or, perhaps, at the first trip in your plan.”
“You knew? And…you didn’t mind?” you asked.
“I’ve known this entire time you were a mastermind,” he confirmed. “And I love that most about you.”
A smile stretched across your face. “You know, I recall saying that you and I were going to have a lot of fun.”
“Oh? I think you should live up to that promise, don’t you?”
And, Maker, you did. Because you were a mastermind, and he was happily yours.

hello !! how are u? if you're still taking headcanon requests, could you please write some for cassian andor? maybe something domestic and fluffy since the poor man has gone through enough
thank you !!!!!!
i am very well thank u and even better now that i wrote these because i adore cassian
when cassian finally settles down after the war (which he survives btw and no i won't negotiate) it feels surreal to him
he's so used to always being on the move; prepping for his next mission, making plans in case the worst happens, constantly wondering where he's going to sleep the next night
tbh to him, home is literally wherever you are but when you find your little apartment in downtown coruscant, he loves it straight away
cassian's entire life can be fit into a suitcase so the place is a little bare for a few weeks
but then you buy some nice furniture and photo frames and cushions and the place starts to fill up
you fall into a nice routine; you naturally work around each other anyways but having your lives intertwine so easily in a constant space is everything
he likes to wake up at the crack of dawn, as always, and makes caff
cass' cooking skills aren't up to par just yet so he'll wait for you to wake up and make breakfast lol
but he can manage...maybe cereal and toast. so if that's what you like, then he's golden
he's very tidy too; probably a product of sharing space in the rebellion for such a long time, but the place is always spotless when he's around
filling the space with personal, meaningful items is essential to him
mostly photos of the two of you, but other random things too - ticket stubs from when you went to the cinema, receipts from your first proper dinner date, little notes he's written you
the place is just like a physical manifestation of your relationship
cozy and warm and filled with love

never leave
pairing: Cassian Andor x reader
warnings: none
summary: angsty fluff or fluffy angst. after one too many secrets, you try to leave Cassian. ends happy.
word count: 1,200
Tumblr media
It wasn’t a big secret, but it was one secret too many. You were used to Cassian having secrets. He was a spy and a complicated man. You didn’t want him differently, but you wanted his trust and you just didn’t feel like he trusted you anymore. You had been packing up your things when Cassian came back to your place. You had been hoping you’d be packed by the time he got home. You knew he wouldn’t let you leave without a fight.
“What’s all this?” Cassian asked as he walked into the room. You were standing at the side of the bed with a pile of clothes and a duffle bag sitting on the mattress in front of you.
“I’m going to stay with Bix,” you said.
“Why?” He questioned. You paused, unsure exactly what the simplest way to explain would be.
“I found out about your last deal,” you said as you folded a sweater and put it into your duffle bag. Cassian’s expression dropped and he gulped. His heart was racing, but it still felt heavy. He was searching for the right thing to say.
“I’m sorry—”
“I don’t care,” you snapped.
“Let me explain, please, my love,” Cassian pleaded. He crossed the room to approach you.
“I don’t want an explanation, Cass,” you said. Cassian took the sweater in your hands out of them and dropped it on the bed. He took your hands in his and pulled you to face him. He was rubbing his thumbs back and forth over the backs of your hands. You refused to meet his eyes, knowing it would make you crumble in the comforting warmth they provided you with.
“Please look at me, darling,” Cassian called to you. You shook your head. “Please?” He begged.
“No, Cass,” you said. “I can’t.”
“Why not?” He asked. He reached up with one hand and ran his fingertips over your cheek. He didn’t try and turn your head though.
“Because I have to go,” you said. A tear escaped your eye. Cassian quickly wiped it away.
“You don’t, my love,” he cooed. “You can stay right here.”
“I can’t do this anymore, Cass!” You cried. You tugged your hands away from him and turned away, wrapping your arms around yourself. “I can’t keep learning things about you from other people! I feel like I barely know you!”
“That’s not true, baby,” Cassian said softly. “You know me better than anyone.”
“Then why do other people tell me things I don’t know about you so often?” You sniffled. Cassian was quiet for a moment. You felt his arms wrap around you as he pressed his chest to your back. His hands settled over your own, still wrapped around your own body. He tucked his chin into the crook of your neck.
“I know I don’t tell you as much as you want me to, but I’m trying to keep you safe,” he said. “I don’t want anything to happen to you because of me.” He kissed your chin tenderly. You could feel the gentle scratch of his mustache against your jaw.
“Cassian, stop,” you muttered and pulled yourself out of his arms. You grabbed your backpack from the floor and started shoving a few essentials into it. You needed to leave immediately.
“Baby, please. I love you,” Cassian said. You stopped and looked at Cassian, meeting his eyes for the first time since he’d gotten home.
“I love you too, Cass. But I need you to trust me and you don’t and it hurts,” you confessed. Cassian’s heart turned to lead and sank through the floor at the thought that he had ever hurt you.
“I trust you, y/n. You’re the only person I really trust,” Cassian called. He took a deep breath. “Everyone else…they know things about me that I need them to know. But you know things about me that I want you to know.”
“Why don’t you want me to know everything?” You asked as you zipped up the backpack.
“I told you. I want to keep you safe. I don’t want to tell you too much,” Cassian said.
“I don’t want to be safe, Cass, I want to be with you!” You shouted. You started for the door, but Cassian threw himself in front of you.
“Don’t go. Stay, my love. Just stay,” Cassian begged. He fell to his knees in front of you, hands wrapping around the backs of your legs to hold you close.
“If I stay now, I’ll never leave,” you said.
“And what’s so wrong about that?” You shook your head.
“Cass, don’t do that,” you said.
“Why? We could have a life together, baby. It could be me and you forever.”
“Cass. Please don’t do this to me,” you begged.
“I need you, my love. And you need me too,” Cassian said. You didn’t respond but you stopped resisting his attempts to hold you back. “I won’t keep secrets anymore. I promise,” Cassian said. Your eyes flicked to meet his own. Cassian had never broken a promise to you. Whenever he promised you something you knew it was a big deal. Cassian saw that he was winning you back and he pressed on.
“You’ll know everything, my love,” he assured you.
“Everything?” You asked quietly. Cassian nodded.
“Everything,” he repeated. “I promise,” he said. Cassian was pleading and begging you not to leave him with the promise that you’d have his trust. He’d give you what you wanted from him. He’d give you anything because the thought of you leaving him was crushing him like a ton of bricks on his chest.
“I promise,” Cassian said again in desperation. You knew that you shouldn’t give in but when he said that you needed him, he was right. You reached down, your hands going to pull his head against your stomach.
“I’ll stay,” you told him. Cassian exhaled in relief. You combed your hands affectionately through his hair.
“I’m so sorry, my love. For everything,” he said.
“I know,” you replied. Cassian rose to his feet, taking your jaw in his hands as he rose and pulling your lips to his. You both had tears on your cheeks as you kissed. His lips were forceful against yours, like he was trying to push his love physically into the kiss. He pulled away just a bit.
“I’m sorry,” he muttered against your lips. His hands were still cupping your jaw, thumbs rubbing back and forth against your cheeks gently. He pressed a few more short chaste pecks to your lips before tipping your forehead to lean against his. “I’m sorry,” he repeated.
“I know,” you assured him. “It’s okay. I’m going to stay.”
“I love you,” he murmured.
“I love you too, Cass,” you said.
“Get in bed with me,” Cassian requested. “I want to hold you.” You released him to crawl under your covers with him. Cassian pulled you against him chest to chest. You tucked your head in the space between Cassian’s shoulder and neck, his cheek pressing against your forehead. His arms were wrapped around you, tracing random shapes onto your back.
“Please never leave me,” Cassian whispered. You ran your fingers along his chest. You trusted Cassian to keep his promises to you. You didn’t imagine you’d ever want to leave again, but as you were laying in Cassian’s arms you were sure of one thing.
“I couldn’t even if I tried.”

~
You heard the showers running when you stepped into the communal fresher, and since it was late into the night you knew there was only one person that could be in there. It had become somewhat of a routine for you and Cassian to have these late night rendezvous in the showers. Although all true feelings remained unspoken, there was still the trust between the two of you to go to each other for a release when you needed it.
After quickly and quietly turning around to lock the fresher door, you stripped yourself of your clothes and tip-toed your way over to where Cassian stood under the running water. You paused for a moment to marvel at his toned back, and the way his dampened skin glistened in the pale light. He was a sight to behold, but you knew the feelings would only complicate things, so you never spoke aloud how much you actually cared for him.
“Are you just going to stand there and gawk,” Cassis’s playful tone caught you off guard as he turned over his shoulder to meet your gaze, “Or are you planning on joining?”
All your breath escaped your lungs when you saw the way he looked at you. But you quickly regained your composure and gave him a low tone right back, “Joining, of course.”
Cassian let out a short laugh before he turned his back to you once more. Even from a distance, you saw the tension in his shoulders, and you knew without words that he needed you tonight. You cleared your throat and stepped into the shower with him, closing the distance between your naked bodies.
It was something the two of you had done many times before, yet tonight you felt nervous for some reason. But you swallowed your nerves and reached out for his toned figure. Cassian hissed at the first contact, but quickly relaxed as you ran your hands along his back and around to his front.
When he tried to turn around to face you, you tightened your grip on him, “No,” you whispered, “Let me tonight.”
He breathed your name, almost as if in protest at first, but as you ran your hands across his chest and gave his pecs a firm squeeze, his resolve broke. Cassian hummed and turned around so that his back was to you once more and let out a hushed groan as you massaged his pecs more.
You leaned yourself against his back as you ran your hands down his stomach. A flash of a frown came across your face when you felt new scars on his skin and it made your heart sink. Perhaps the thought that you could possibly lose him is what made your nerves spike, but you quickly pushed that out of your head. He was here now, and you just wanted to savor the time you had.
Cassian let out a low groan when you reached his cock, already half hard from the way you caressed his body. The water hit both of you as you wrapped your hands around his length and lazily stroked him. You kissed along the tense muscles in his back as you felt him harden more in your hand.
He whispered your name as he reached out and braced his arms on the wall. Water from the shower soaked his hair, but Cassian didn’t care. Even the cold from the water didn’t bother him when you worked his cock like that. You always took such care of him, and Cassian couldn’t help the growing fondness for you in his heart. Yet, he knew how dangerous it was when emotions got involved, so, much like you did, he kept his true feelings to himself.
You hummed as you nibbled on Cassian’s skin and pumped him faster. The moans he let out for you compared to nothing, and you would fight the entire Empire in order to hear him just one more time. You squeezed his cock tighter as you wrapped your free arm around his body and jerked him off harder.
Cassian groaned your name as he rocked his hips in time with your hand. His hands balled into fists as he swam in the pleasure that you gave him. His skin tingled from the warmth of your body in contrast with the cold water that hit his front. A string of curses flowed from Cassian’s lips as you bit down harder on his shoulder and pumped him even faster.
“Cassian,” you breathed his name as you held him tighter.
The groans he let out sent waves of arousal through you, but you did your best to ignore them. You wanted to focus on him tonight, you wanted to make him feel good. You let out a soft whimper as your feelings bubbled up to the surface despite your attempts to bury them, and you pumped his cock harder and faster in response.
Cassian hissed your name and let out a sinful cry as his climax quickly approached. He threw his head back, the water splashing everywhere as he did so. As you squeezed him and jerked him more, his orgasm hit him without warning. With a cry of your name, Cassian spilled himself onto the shower wall in front of him, and his body shook as his climax crashed through him.
You moaned as you bucked your hips against his body as you pumped him through his high, and you only wished you saw his face when he lost control of himself. Cassian was always so composed, except when it came to you, and you loved to watch him let go when the two of you were alone.
Heavy breaths filled the room as you slowed your rhythm down and carefully let go of Cassian’s cock. You rested your head against his back as he caught his breath, but you kept your arms tightly wrapped around his waist.
Cassian moved his hand to cover yours on his hip and he gave your wrist a small squeeze. As much as you were content to stay like that with him in your arms, Cassian seemed to have another idea. He tugged at your arm to force you to let go so that he could turn around and face you. Water dripped down his face as the shower now hit his back, but that was the last thing on his mind.
He leaned forward and without a word, Cassian took your lips with his in a heated kiss. You moaned into the kiss as you clung to his shoulders and he wrapped his arms around your wait and spun you around so that your back was to the wall.
His tone was low and a fire burned in his eyes when he groaned, “Now it’s your turn…”

BURN IT DOWN
030; EPILOGUE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
previous chapter | masterlist
summary: the one where harlow kaz realised that the world was going to end but she decided to try and save it with the people that she cared about, no matter what it takes
wordcount: 1.4k
a/n: this is an alternate ending cassian and Harlow died last chapter but this is imagining what would've happened.
Tumblr media
Harlow looked in the mirror as she finished her makeup, a hand reaching for the necklaces on the table.
She had stacks of them now. So many memories that needed to be remembered, so many tragedies that needed to be told.
One from her parents, one from Nemik, one from marrying Cassian, one from surviving Scarif, one from the end of the war and one for their son.
When the war had ended and they were both free to do whatever they wanted, so they moved to Coruscant, to a nice apartment.
She had gotten a job as one of the coruscnt senators, she specialised in the outer rim and improving their conditions - just like Nemik would have wanted.
Cassian was working at a school, teaching the soldiers to fight and how to look after themselves because even though the war was won, there were still imperialists everywhere.
After they were married officially and had settled in, Cassian had been the one to convince her to have a child.
He had always wanted a family and she was scared but the second that she held him in her arms, she knew that there was no need to be scared anymore.
They had named him Jyron Karis Andor, after his grand father, Jyn, and her best friend. He was a small child, with his father's face and his mother's spirit.
At only six months old, the two shared turns in looking after him while the other was at work but they both cherished the time they spent with each other.
She finished her look, pulling her coat on over herself to get ready to leave and she left their bedroom, ready to find Cassian.
She looked at a collage of pictures of their little family on the main wall as she walked back, a smile on her face as she was reminded of everythinf they had won.
It was nice to be a normal family for once seeing as they both grew up in turmoil. Jyron was going to have everything they never had.
Harlow walked through the halls when she heard a noise in Jyrons room. She would always be paranoid after everything she's been through, alway worried, always vigilant.
With a hand on her knife which was always concealed in her senators outfit, she approached the room. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that it was just Cassian hovering over the baby, a smile on his face.
She leant against the doorframe, his back turned to her as he reached a hand into the bassinet.
He whispered something in his native language before shaking his head, lifting him out and placing him in his arms, bouncing him up and down slightly.
"Don't you cry, nothing gonna hurt you here," he said, voice quiet as he probably believed Harlow to still be asleep, "Daddy's always gonna protect you, always,"
She smiled to herself, trying not to cry as she looked at the scene but the second she moved, her foot squeaking on the floorboards, Cassian whipped around, one hand going to hide blaster.
But when he realised it was just his wife, he calmed down, hand coming back up to support Jyron.
He smiled, looking her up and down in her white senators outfit. It was always weird seeing her like that, like she would have been if she had never joined the rebellion.
"Was he crying?" She asked, taking a few steps forward so she could gently rub her hand over her sons back.
"A little, I thought you weren't meant to go in for a few more hours," he questioned and she sighed.
"Yeah, I know," Harlow said, shaking her head, "Leia needed me in, there's been a dispute over the new anti slavery laws in the outer rim, that's my duty so I'm going in early,"
He nodded his head, beckoning his wife into the room. She walked in and he handed the little boy off to her.
He would never be tired of the sight of her rocking their son back and forth, a smile on her face as she brushed the pad of her thumb over his skin.
"You're gonna be good for daddy till I get back aren't you?" She said, voice quiet as she pressed a kiss to his forehead.
When she looked up at the clock, he cursed her job for making her leave and she placed the baby back back in the bassinet.
She walked out of the room with Cassian as they listened to the little boy fall back into his slumber and as soon as the doors closed, Cassian reached for his wife, pulling her to his chest.
With one hand he reached up and touched the necklaces around her neck. The more you had, the more you had suffered in life and he couldn't imagine the heavy weight she carried.
"Thank you," he said, letting his hand drop back to her hips.
"For what?" Harlow questioned, her brows furrowed but a smile still present on her face.
"For this life, for him, you've given me everything I've ever wanted," he said.
Harlow shook her head, a sad smile on her face, "You saved us on Scarif, if it wasn't for you we never would've gotten off. You gave us this life," she said, a hand coming up to rest on his cheek.
They had both grown with the war, having been born into it and having won it. It showed on their faces, the exhaustion, the scars, the occasional vacant look in their eyes, the tears.
But they were both able to stand here and know that they had given everything to save this world.
There were people they wished could be here, Maarva, Nemik, Clem, Jyn, Melshi. But everyone played their part in saving the galaxy.
"I think we both won this life Cass," she said, leaning in to kiss him.
No matter how many times she kissed him, she'd always cherish it because she knew that any moment this could be taken away.
She pulled away and he just pulled her right back into the kiss, pulling her closer to him.
"Easy Andor, you don't want to end up with another baby," she joked, pulling away again, her hands on his chest.
He smiled at her, forehead pressing against hers, "Would that be so bad?" He teased.
"I think so, we both had siblings and we saw how that turned out," she joked, "You don't know where yours is and mine tried to kill me multiple times,"
He shook his head, pulling away to look at her, "Maybe in the future," he said and she pushed away from him, looking in the mirror to see if her makeup was smudged.
In the mirror, she saw Cassian wiping lipstick from his lips and she smiled, heat rushing to her cheeks, "In your dreams Cassian," she said, eyes meting through the mirror.
He smiled to her, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the exposed skin on her neck, "You're always in my dreams Senator Andor," he said.
She chuckled, turning around and pushing him away slightly. She started to walk away and he followed her, closing their sons bedroom door behind him.
"Remember Brasso is coming round for dinner tonight," Cassian said, handing her an umbrella.
"Of course, tell the mayor of Ferrix that I would love to talk to him about the positive changes our bill has made on the planet," she said, a smile on her face.
After all these years, 6 years after they blew up the death star, they had never lost touch with the people who had gotten them there or the people who weren't able to be there.
"I never thought I'd see you like this," he said, a smile on his face.
Her brows were furrowed as she looked at him, "Like what?" She questioned.
"A politician," he said. She chuckled and shook her head.
"I was always very political when we were in the rebellion," She said, a smile on her face, "And anyway, once I've got this sorted out, hopefully in 3 years, we can move somewhere nice where we don't have to worry about this,"
"I know, I know," he said before pressing a kiss to her cheek,"Be safe yeah,"
"When have i not been?" She joked, pulling her coat over her shoulders, "I love you Cass,"
"Love you too Harlow, don't be late," he said, watching as she walked out of the door.
"You sound like your mother," she called back, a huge smile on her face as she looked back at him.

Dance With Me
Pairing: Cassian x Reader
Summary: OK SO I had a request for some Cassian fluff, I'm in the midst of actually replying to that BUT in the mean time I thought I'd share this short fluffy Cassian drabble I wrote.
Word Count: 501
It had been a long night of mingling with slimy high up imperials. You’d never get used to going to high class events like this but luckily for you, you were rarely alone. You and Cassian worked well as a team, often being sent out on missions together.
The resistance received intel that some high up officers were going to be at the event. Retrieving the information had almost been too easy, turns out sleazy officers would tell you anything if you wore a low cut dress and batted your eyelashes at them.
Cassian had whisked the two of you away pretty swiftly after getting what you came for. The two of you retired to the hotel suite you’d been booked into for the night. You’d decided to get some air and had made your way out to the balcony, taking in the city laid out before you.
You heard the door click open behind you as Cassian came to join you outside. ‘Hey,’ you turned to face him as he spoke, watching as his eyes roamed over your body. ‘I feel like you wasted this outfit.’
You tilted your head in wonder, ‘what do you mean?’
He took a step closer to you, ‘you look absolutely beautiful.’ You felt your face flush as he took another step forward, ‘I wish we weren’t on a mission, I would have spent the whole night with you on my arm.’ His eyes bore into your own as he took a third step forward, completely closing the gap between you. ‘I wouldn’t have let any of those vile men look at you the way they were.’
He reached his hand out and gently brushed down your arm, leaving goosebumps in his wake. You were at a complete loss for words, stunned into silence. The sun had started to set leaving the area you were standing in bathed in a golden glow.
Cassian held his hand out for you and you gladly took it, gasping lightly he pulled you into him, his free hand landing softly on your waist. Instinctually you brought your hand up to grasp Cassian’s shoulder.
He swayed you gently to the rhythm of the evening breeze. You completely melted into him as the city noises faded away. You both were lost in the moment, your worlds may have been filled with chaos but in this fleeting moment none of that mattered, it was just the sparks from the bond between the two of you.
Your heart was overflowing as you stared into his eyes and with a soft sigh Cassian leaned in, brushing his lips against yours. A gentle kiss that said more than either of you could ever put into words. You gently rested your head on his shoulder as the two of you continued to sway whilst the sun continued to set.
The galaxy may be at war but here in this private dance none of that mattered, the two of you had each other and that was enough.

For Ferrix's Sake - Cassian Andor
Cassian returns from a ‘job’ to find you married… to a higher purpose.
Tumblr media
You flicked the switch and the display powered off, the green text zipping out into the new darkness. On the shining black surface, your reflection seemed to glow as your form was backlit by the light left on in the yard. Yellowed rays bled through the blinds and into your eyes when you peered out the inner office window. You turned quickly away, shaking your head.
When that failed to clear the glaring dots of light that lingered in your vision, blinked like mad and added ‘shut down the yard lamps’ to your mental list of closing chores. Though, as you switched off the remaining displays, you recalled Bix, in a rush of dark hair and eyes, telling you that she would shut down the lamps. Must’ve forgot, you reasoned, she’s had a lot on her mind.
A lot of worries, and worried thoughts about Cassian Andor. Then, just like that, your mind grew crowded too. How long had it been since you last laid eyes on Cassian? Had Maarva heard from him, somehow? Perhaps the man on the radio…
You shook your head again and watched the light behind the last screen fizzle out. There are bigger things to worry about, and things more immediate. Onto the yard.
A chill greeted you when you stepped outside. Stacks of material did little to break up the winds that whipped against your skin, nipped at your cheeks. The weather had turned since Cassian left Ferrix, at least it seemed that was the case. Psychosomatic or not, you felt the cold and muscled through it as if wading through mud. Your stiff limbs shuffled toward one of the control panels that was wired to the yard lamps. Though, before you could reach the cabinet, the lights switched suddenly off and plunged you into darkness. You gasped and felt the cold tenfold in the new shadows. Dimness from the streetlights eeked over the piles of parts, giving you enough light to see your next few steps but nothing more. With a sigh, you shuffled forward on hesitant feet.
You nearly tripped over your shoes as you moved, but, in a rush of warmth, you were stilled by two hands. One held your waist and the other covered your mouth, turning the warmth to a startling shock.
“It’s me, I gotch you,” came a familiar voice. “Now, I know you want to, but don’t yell at me, yeah?”
Slowly, the hand from your mouth dropped, but, without sparing a second, your own hand shot out. Your fingers wrapped around a familiar wrist and pulled until the man standing behind you was at your side. A pair of brown eyes fell on your face, wide with surprise; yet he smiled at you, with that same old smile.
“It is you,” you breathed, and Cassian’s smile stretched into a gentle grin that poked through his dark beard. The skin by the corner of his eyes crinkled with the expression. He looks older.
“Did you not believe me?” Charm dripped from his tone and shone in the dark of his blown pupils. But he’s still him.
“I couldn’t believe my ears,” you said, a bittersweet laugh following suit. “You’ve been gone.”
“I know.”
“No,” you pressed, “you’ve been gone, Cass.”
“So, you’ve missed me,” he said, voice low and smooth like gear oil. “I’ve missed you.”
As if to prove himself, Cassian’s hand, the one that still lingered on your waist, squeezed at your flesh. His touch sent a bolt a wanting reminder through you and it blazed down your spine. Propelled by the heat, you found yourself leaning in, meeting Cassian’s lips in the middle with your own. To keep you there, his hands roamed up your sides to cup your cheeks and hold you close.
While Cassian held, you pulled, your hands hooking into the stiff fabric of his jacket. Like old times. You pulled until your back was pressed against one of the more stable piles of parts. With you stuck between his body and a hard place, Cassian took the opportunity presented by your limited range of movement to push back. His lips pushed down your neck, soaking your skin with attention. Like old habits.
Then, Cassian leaned back to breathe, “come away with me.”
No, not this one. Not now, not with so much at stake.
“Cassian,” you groaned, tone warning and cold despite the warmth of his intentions. You pushed at him to give yourself room to collect a modicum of resolve.
“You missed me,” he pressed, fingers pressing teasingly into your sides, a reminder of the hold he had on you, your heart. So much for resolve.
“I did miss you, but,” you swallowed hard, struggling to spit out the words. When you finally found your voice, it came out vague, haphazard. “But I moved on.”
“What?” Hurt drove Cassian’s jaw to drop, his brows to furrow. “You moved on?”
“It’s not that, like that. It’s for Ferrix’s sake.” For the galaxy’s sake, more like, but you bit your tongue. You couldn’t say too much without putting everything at risk.
“Ferrix?”
Special people are hard to find, the radio man had said, and Cassian was as special as they came. Like you, he burned with a desire to make things right, which made it all the easier to meet his gaze. You raised a hand to brush a stray strand of dark hair from where it fell in front of his eyes. Cassian leaned away though, dodging your gesture.
“Tell me,” he ordered and you frowned. Sometimes he burned to cinders, to a cold truth better left unsaid.
“Something is coming. Something big, bigger than me, you…”
“Us?” A cold truth.
Your mouth opened and closed, trying to form words that would not come. With your hesitation, Cassian scoffed and stepped back. You reached for him, instinctively.
“Cass-”
“No, no, don’t say it,” he murmured, head falling down to gaze at his dirt-caked shoes. “It’s better if you don’t.”
“So we can keep pretending?” You asked with the slightest of smiles on your lips. “That’s not how you are, how we are.”
Cassian must have been able to hear the accompanying tilt in your voice because he drew his head up. His brown eyes fell on you once more, tracing the little curve of your mouth. He did not return your expression as he stepped back toward you, not even when he raised one of his hands to cup your face. With a tenderness that echoed your slight smile, Cassian brushed his thumb along the peak of your cheek. Slowly, he started to nod.
“If pretending means we can stay like this a little longer.” How sweet that sounded, how easy he eased the worries in your mind. How could you deny yourself this little taste of paradise? “I’m willing to bite my tongue a bit.”
It was a rebellion in its own right.
“This?” Your ask held a more apparent lightness as your hand found Cassian’s jacket and pulled gently.
“This,” he answered, leaning in to kiss you again. You swore you felt the zing of a spark.

The landing gear hissed as it hit the ground, making the ship jump a small bit. A sigh escaped Cassian, happy to be back on Yavin 4 and out of immediate danger. He unbuckled his seatbelt, standing up with a groan and giving K-2 a pat on the shoulder. The droid was uncharacteristically quiet, but seeming how their mission went he could probably guess why. He stepped off the ship, greeted with a soft warm breeze, and began making his way to the meeting room. He could make his briefing as short as possible and then he could return to his room and get the rest he needed. Footsteps rushed behind him and suddenly he lurched forward, to arms pulling him back so he wouldn’t fall. He blinked a couple of times, trying to register what happened until he recognized the pale lavender hands around him.
“Hello to you too, Pointy.” he laughed, fondly squeezing the arms around him. His smile grows wider from the little giggle behind him; the arms retract and he turns to face his lover. Kit grins as his ears flap happily–  almost enough to distract from the dark circles under his eyes.
‘He’s just as tired as I am,’ he thinks, briefly wondering what his mission was like before a pair of lips meet his own. He sighs into the soft kiss, his hands instantly moving to caress his cheek while the other moved to hold his lower back.
“I missed you,” he murmurs and Cassian hums in agreement.
“I missed you too,” he brushes his nose against the Sephi’s; closing his eyes and letting himself their closeness. It’s perfect and he wants nothing more than to stay like this.
“I still need to do my briefing,” he sighs, brows knitting but he remains unmoving.
“How unfortunate,” Kit chuckles, pulling away; his bright blue eyes looking at him cheerfully, “see you after?”
“Always.” he pecks his nose, finally detaching himself from the shorter man before heading inside. He keeps his report as short as possible, leaving before they started plotting their next moves. He could hear about it later; for now, there was only one person he wanted to be with right now.
He walks briskly through the halls, swerving through people until he found his room. He entered, surprised to see it seemingly empty until he heard the bathroom door open. Kit stepped out, a towel around his waist while he dried his hair with another; a grin stretched over his lips upon looking up to see him.
“Left some warm water for you.” he steps forward, his hands finding his hips as he looks over his partner.
“Thank you,” he whispers, brush small half circles enjoying the softness of his skin. He can’t take his eyes off of his exposed self, the few clinging water droplets, and of course his slightly parted lips.
“Cassian.” he warns, already knowing what he was planning but the spy didn’t care. He kissed him passionately, tongue swiping over the inside of his mouth. Kit’s hands claw into his vest, tugging him closer and both of them whine— this affection was long overdue.
“Shower first, baby.” Kit pants quietly; his tongue darting between his lips.
“It takes so long though,” Cassian grumbles,  pressing his forehead against his,“it feels like I haven’t kissed you in forever,” his complaint earns him a chuckle.
“Dramatic much, baby?”
“No,” he pouts, leaning in again, nipping at his lips before stealing another kiss.
“Starshine,” Kit murmurs, pulling away from his face “shower.” he repeats and Cassian lets out a sigh.
“Fine, sweetheart.” he lets go him, giving one last peck on the cheek before heading to the bathroom. The warm water is another treat he missed when away as he scrubs away the dirt and grime from his skin. He feels refreshed as he steps out, hair mostly dry and a towel hugging his hips.
“All done?” Kit asked, bunkered down in the bed, wearing his pale tan shirt and some boxers.
“All done.” he hums, putting on his pair before sliding in on the other side of the bed. He welcomes Kit with open arms, tugging him to his chest as he settles under the covers. He keeps his arms around his waist, while Kit’s hands settle in his chest; the two of them laying face to face, their noses brushing against one another.
“So you had a rough time too?”
“Didn’t get any info, and it went down from there.” he whispers, not wanting to focus on all the trouble he just go through.
“I’m sorry, baby.”
“It’s okay, I’m just happy to be back in your arms, starfire.” he kissing the corner of his lips, as his fingers begin dancing along Kit’s lower back.
“Me too,” he pecks his nose, “maker, it’s been a while since we’ve been away from each other for this long.”
“Mhm, it’s awful.”
“I agree.”
“I wish we could stay like this forever.”
“Me too starshine.” he hums, fingers dancing over his bare skin. They stay like that for a moment, until Cassian gently shifts him into his back, hovering over the smaller man and resting his hand in his cheek. His blue eyes soften as he looks over his face; his lavender hand gently cupping the back of his own.
“Where would you want to go,” he speaks, surprised by the quietness in his own voice but continues, “once this is all over?” he tries to ignore his pounding heart as he peers down at the man below him.
“I don’t know, I never really thought that far.” the Sephi chuckles quietly, a small nervous smile stretching across his lips.
“Me neither, truthfully.” he admits bashfully, his brown eyes falling away from the sky. He had never pondered this question at all since this war began, knowing all too that his future could easily be just a dream. He never envisioned it but after two years of wanting, he had begun to have hope again he’d finally see the end. Though the silence builds his anxiety, thinking that for the first time, he had asked the wrong question.
“Somewhere quiet for sure,” Kit finally answers and he slowly looks back up at his lover, who’s smile is softer than the clouds he’s flown through.
“Where the wind sings softly and the grasses and trees dance all around us.” his other hand reaches up and strokes his cheek; his soft fingers gently scratching over his stubble.
“Our bed would be so much softer than this one and we’d have our own little fireplace.” he expresses with such conviction, he can almost feel the warmth of the fire in their home.
“The soft crashing of ocean waves echoing softly in our little home, as we’re all wrapped in our love.” he finishes and he can’t help but lean down and kiss him.
“I love how that sounds, angel.” he revels, blinking away the tears from his eyes.
“Did it on the fly.” Kit jokes, earning a chuckle from Cassian. He settles back down on the bed, tugging his lover onto his chest.
