i would get attacked for saying this but i honestly don't understand why people love casspunzel so much. it honestly seems wrong because rapunzel says multiple times that they are like sisters. not only that, but from what ive seen the creator based their relationship off of his two daughters. i don't like it, if they weren't meant to be a sibling-like relationship i could at least see it being one-sided but it just seems wrong. i think it kinda feels weird to even ship a character who is in a healthy and happy relationship. they act like sisters, they talk to each other like sisters, rapunzel at least sees them both as sisters.

anyways new dream is the best new dream is better than any other disney ship i love new dream so much

You know, what’s one thing that bothered me about Tangled? It was how the fandom glorified Rapunzel & Cassandra and their relationship. Why do people today glorify toxic characters and their relationships?

There's a couple of reasons

1. They're ignoring canon in favor of their personal headcanon.

There's nothing wrong with this, so long as you don't insist that everyone else treats your personal headcanon as canon.

2. All humans have a basic need for validation. If you have little experience with relationships, then the idea of someone unconditionally accepting you no matter what, no matter how much you personally don't like yourself, no matter how much you've felt rejected in the past, then the concept of enemies to lovers, where you're automatically accepted no matter how much you push someone away can be a comforting fantasy.

However, it's just a fantasy. That's not how real relationships work. So long as you can make the distinction between the two then the fantasy itself is not a problem. Sadly though, there are a lot of emotionally immature people who can't detach the ideal from actual reality, and such people are in for a very difficult time in real life until they can learn the difference.

3. Projection

Some people get so attached to a character in a ship that they see any criticism as a personal attack against themselves.

Never mind that there are better written characters out there. Nevermind that better examples of the enemies to lovers trope. No, this character is them, and this ship only exists to validate them personally.

No one else matters. No one's opinions or views matter. It's their perspective alone that matters and if you don't agree, or spend time feeding their poor egos then you're the enemy.

Such people have far deeper issues than just obsessing over a silly cartoon. Best to place them on ignore and go about your business because, I promise you, you won't ever reach these people with things like "reason".

So in short, much like with any large group of people you have varying levels of chill and creepy shit you need to avoid.

I've met some Casspunzel shippers who are pretty cool and some that very much weren't. It however doesn't help matters that the show runner himself falls in the third category and so validates this unhealthy mindset within canon itself.

i was wondering if u know of/like any new dream and/or casspunzel s3 fix-it fics? sorry if this has been asked before

Just to be clear, I never have and will never ever read anything that ships Rapunzel with Cassandra. That is a NoTP for me. I have the ship tag(s) blocked so that I won't be exposed to anything about it. You can ship whatever you like, but I'm not going to be able to help you find fanfiction for it. I just feel that it's important that you, and everyone, understand this about me so that I don't get asked about it on any kind of a regular basis.

As for S3 fix-it fics in general, I'm sure they exist, but I honestly don't read a lot of fanfiction, as my FAQ says, so I don't know what they are.

If anyone else out there can recommend any, that would be appreciated.
