5 episodes into Altered Carbon.

-Altered Carbon is peak Joel Kinnaman hotness

-Altered Carbon gives off The Diabolic vibes. Or maybe it’s the other way around. Not a bad thing at all, The Diabolic is one of my favorite books. Things can feel the same or make me feel reminiscent or nostalgic of another media and it can still be a good thing.

-Depending on how I feel, I miiiiiight take a break between seasons 1 and 2 because I know that a good chunk of the cast changes and I kind of want to sit with season 1 for a bit.

-I still have The Killing and both Suicide Squad movies to go through in the mean time.

-Shit on Robocop 2014 all you want, it’s whats gotten me into 3 new fandoms this past year.

4. …why you should choose to check out the world of this story and choose three gifs that should underline my point.

So, in short, this is the series which shows you alternative reality after the first person on the moon becomes the soviet cosmonaut. Which leads to events in the world go a little differently, here and there you will see information about changes and that's fun to catch btw and see what is different compared to real history, such as John Lenon did not die, it's not important to the plot but it's kinda fun to see what changed in the world in 'for all mankind'. So this change is the beginning of the entire new timeline of the world we live in, where everything is mostly the same but different in some ways. The countries continue fight over everything, and this one shows their fight over the space. Which leads NASA to include women in their program back in 70s, and first season shows us the decade of training and going to the moon. The show is so well made, the visuals are great, but the best part of the show for me are characters. You might hate some of them due to them being the typical people of the decade they live in, but they grow and change. So this is the story of NASA and the people who work there, and we follow them through decades and see how they go to the moon, discover ice there and then the race to the mars begins. Every season shows different decade with the same characters. If you love sci fi and dramas and good characters - that show is for you.

You will have fun moments with big boys being idiots, you will have amazing female characters, you will have characters so dedicated to what they do and their dreams they go through hell and back to do it, there will be moments they have to make tough decisions, choose who lives, you will have heroes who won't live anyone behind, you will have corporations included in the race and what comes with it, politics, being lgbtq+ back in that time, if i say some more i will spoiler you, but you will enjoy it.

there are some dramatic moments that are so good, the cast just gives everything they have to make it work and it is absolutely perfect. joel kinnaman and shantel vansanten just grew so much in my eyes with their work in this show, the moment in 2.03 is like *chef's kiss*, you will know when you watch the show :P

The cast is fantastic, they all play so well, I could go miles about how great they are, but you just have to see it yourself.

Btw, there's amazing video of Jessie Gender which is fun and it is about how 'for all mankind' could be the prequel of star trek, yep, you heard me right :D It's actually really great and has a point, obviously it is not the same universe and the shows are not connected, but it's still fun to watch. And if you love star trek I would suggest to watch their videos in general, they are great.

gifs... ah well, we don't have many gifs done for this show, so I will just use mine which i did so far, this show is about working together for a better future, like, whatever gene roddenberry said back then, if we accept each other and our differences only then we deserve to go out in space. And this series shows us that the progress could be here earlier if we actually were not held by stereotypes and prejudice

People are what makes this show great, while there are flaws in this show (well, every show has them) I try to look at the bright side, even if you do not like the character in the show you will admit they are well written and the cast did amazing work to make the character work.

So, it is still my dream for Joel to return as Rick Flag in season 2 of Peacemaker (if that ever actually happens). We got the flashback to his death several times in season one as well as Peacemaker dealing with his guilt of killing him so we know Rick is still very relevant to the show. So it would make so much sense for Rick to appear as a hallucination or vision to Peacemaker much the same way Peacemaker's father appears in the season's last scene. Because of that, I've still not given up hope! 🤞

However, if he were to play a different DC character, I think he could make a good Rip Hunter. Now admittedly all I know about this character comes from the Legions of Tomorrow tv show and some quick Wikipedia searches back when the show was on, but Rip is a time-traveler who leads a team to protect and monitor the Timestream. He is a skilled fighter and master gunman which fits so well with the characters Joel usually plays. And I think it would work age-wise if Joel were to play him now. So, that's my pick. Do you have anyone in mind?

(And OMG!!! Not only is that Holder idea adorable AF, but it's 100% something he would do!!! I absolutely love this idea and you LOVE to cozy up with him in his hoodie! 😍)

You watch alot of films and as someone who dont i wanna ask what you think of these if you’ve watched it!

- Violent Night (2021)

- Silent Night (2023)

- Strange Way of Life (2023)

- the Nice Guys (2016)

I absolutely don't watch a lot of films. That's a common misconception. However.

Violent Night is about exactly what I expect from Tommy Wirkola, which is to say, it's a funny high concept action horror hybrid that could have used a few more rounds of rewrites and a little trimming to live up to its full potential and to pack a stronger punch, but it's a good ride nonetheless. Wildly better use of your David Harbour than in a somewhat similarly-minded Hellboy reboot. Boy did that one suck.

I haven't seen Silent Night, but the reviews make it seem pretty much like what its trailer promises, a competent, but kinda basic and disposable action flick with a cute silent gimmick, also Joel Kinnaman can carry a movie even without dialogue and needs a better agent apparently. And this movie is somehow shorter than the killer Santa one, which is always welcome.

Haven't seen Strange Way of Life either except as gifs here on tumblr, haven't even kept up with critics, so no idea, but I usually like Almodovar, so.

Love The Nice Guys to bits, amazing, funny, impeccably constructed, perfectly cast, clever without being annoying about it, and it takes an especially steady hand to seamlessly blend a buddy movie, a murder mystery, 1970s porn industry, and Detroit automotive lobby facing the oil crisis and its own inevitable demise. Make it a double feature with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
