the age differences in the critical role cast are funny because you have matthew mercer (b. 1982) and marisha ray (b. 1989), both of which are young (comparatively) enough to lived through the fourth and fifth console generations and are fully locked into how how early 2000s and 2010s gaming worked, what the latest consoles are now, and matt even used to be a QA tester on video games.

I know that A LOT™️ happened in e65, but hats off to Ashton at the top for, shortly after hearing Laudna’s angsty and jealous rant, more or less grabbed her by the chin and said “spend some fucking time with your girl” and insisted they all get errand time which honestly directly led to Imogen and Laudna being in that bread aisle in the first place

i literally cannot stop watching the new intro on loop and i just want to say i am so GRATEFUL that they took the time and attention and care to make my man orym "just a little guy" look just as badass and awesome as the rest of the party like he deserves. it is so easy for a pure martial character to feel underpowered or less exciting than the rest of their party and i have SO MUCH appreciation for liam describing orym's actions in such loving, epic detail. orym is a force to be reckoned with both in and out of combat and i'm so glad that mr "just a little guy with a sword" is recognized as the badass that he is <333

just finished catching up on cr3.... even knowing from spoilers that ashton would survive i'm pretty sure i lost 5 years of my life during that whole final sequence.

the worst of it wasn't even watching ashton make this stupid decision and not discuss it with the group and then almost explode (all of which was extremely frustrating) but the way he roped fearne into it. the two moments they had alone, by the clocktower and at the ziggurat, were fucking hard to watch. nauseating even! and yes i cheered when she kicked them in the face! i hope she shuns them for the next 15-20 episodes.

anyway at least this is going to make for delicious conflict going forward

Seeing a lot of posts that seem very sure of how things will play out so casual reminder that the only people who currently know what Marisha wants in regards to Laudna are Marisha, Matt, and perhaps to some degree the other players at the table.

You do not know what she wants. You cannot say that she definitely wants things this way or that way. You have not heard the discussions she’s had with Matt and the table. Assuming you know what she wants or is going to do is parasocial as hell and when things don’t shake out the way you’ve decided she wants them to, you’re gonna feel mad at Matt for “being unfair” despite him saying that his first priority is his players enjoyment and that he talks to them and finds out what they want to do before anything else.

Chill and remember this is their game and their table, I beg of you.
