I love the idea of leafling scars!! Such a cool idea but I’ve never seen anyone draw anything life that! Maybe I’m biased because I like Bernard.

Had this idea brewing since the game came out and there are SO many ways it could be applied to imply extra stories for Bernard and the castaways! I have no idea when else I'll be able to talk about this in length so thank you for sending this I can finally ramble!!!

To summarize:

Cured castaways are left with vine stitches that protect and keep together any internal or external injuries (may or may not disappear once the injury is fully healed)

The pikmin parasite potencially focuses on the head to control the host

The longer they're a leafling the more vibrant the hue left on the skin is. (I wasn't sure how much of a tomato Olimar would be)

Flowers can bloom in their leafy coats

Despite being brought into the same Onion they have different types of leaves/vines/flowers

I left it ambiguous whether or not castaways are still being healed after they've been turned into leaflings

Other info and ideas I didn't include:

A lot of times the plant grown will be poisonous ie. a yellow leafling grows buttercups. This is to protect them from predators.

Marks resembiling their leafling eyes might be visible on their corneas

Drinking nectar gives them a similar effect to the pikmin; blooming flower, faster speed (maybe strength? forgot if that's boosted), they also get "extra lives" but their pain receptors are more sensitive than the pikmin so they get temporarilly incapacitated for longer

Keeping it ambiguous if castaways are straight up revived from the dead or need to be brought in while they're still hanging on (there's so much story potential if theres a time limit tho!)

They might be able to use the vines as a second limb (I accidentally drew Olimar's vine too low so he probably has a vine tail now)

Dunno if I did Yonny's speech pattern justice here (still experimenting) but-

I REALLY wished we could've gotten notes from Yonny about this since he got to see them up close. And dang it I'm really curious about how the leaflings work, I get that they're all dandori n stuff but what if the pink ones can fly or the purple ones are stronger. Maybe all of them except blue leaflings get hurt by water.

So many questions and no answers, and so much design and story potential!!!

This was a pretty fun way to start drawing the castaways too. Now I'm really tempted to draw everyone's leafling forms (I may have already picked flowers for the rescue corps team based on their symbolism)

1st February 1709 saw Alexander Selkirk, from Lower Largo in Fife rescued from his self imposed isolation.

Born in 1676, the seventh son of a cobbler, Alexander Selkirk grew up in Lower Largo, Fife. At the age of 19 he found himself in trouble with the Kirk Session after his brother’s trick of making him drink sea water resulted in a family fight. Before his case was heard, Selkirk fled to sea hoping to make his fortune through privateering (effectively legalised piracy on the King’s enemies) against Spanish vessels off the coast of South America.

Within a few years his skill at navigation led to his appointment as Sailing Master on the ‘Cinque Ports’, a sixteen gun, ninety ton privateer. The expedition was a disaster. The captain of the ship was a tyrant and after a few sea battles with the Spanish, Selkirk feared the ship would sink. So, in an attempt to save his own life he demanded to be put ashore on the next island they encountered. In September 1704, Selkirk was castaway on the uninhabited island of Más a Tierra (today known as Robinson Crusoe Island), over 400 miles off the West Coast of Chile. He took with him a little clothing, bedding, a musket and powder, some tools, a Bible and tobacco.

At first Selkirk simply read his Bible awaiting rescue, but it soon became apparent that the rescue wasn’t imminent. He resigned himself to a long stay and began to make island life habitable with only rats, goats and cats for company in his lonely vigil.

After several years of isolation, two ships drew into the island’s bay. Selkirk rushed to the shore, realising a little late that they were Spanish. Their landing party fired, forcing him to flee for his life although he managed to evade capture and the Spaniards eventually departed.

Finally On 1st of February 1709, two British privateers dropped anchor offshore. Alexander lit his signal fire to alert the ships, who dispatched a rather astonished landing party to find a ‘wildman’ dressed in goat skins. Remarkably the privateers’ pilot was William Dampier, who had led the Selkirk’s original expedition and was able to vouch for the ‘wildman’.

Selkirk had spent four years and four months of isolation on the island, yet seemed stable when he was found. The experience had, in fact, saved his life. From William Dampier he learnt that he had been right to leave the ‘Cinque Ports’, which had sunk off the coast of Peru with all of its crew drowned except the captain and another seven men, who had survived only to be captured and left to rot in a Peruvian jail.

Selkirk re-embarked on his career as a privateer and within a year he was master of the ship that rescued him. In 1712 he returned to Scotland £800 richer, and surprised his family as they worshipped at the Kirk in Largo. They had long given him up for dead and were astonished that he was alive, let alone alive in his fine, gold and lace clothes. In 1713 he published an account of his adventures which were fictionalised six years later by Daniel Defoe in his now famous novel: ‘Robinson Crusoe’.

Selkirk, however, could never really readjust to life on the land, and, in 1720, a year after he was immortalised by Defoe, he joined the Royal Navy only to die of fever off the coast of Africa.

A long post about Castaway stories

I wanted to play Sims the other day, but I'm already tired of the usual Sims, like the Sims Medieval. And I remembered the existence of Sims Stories.

This game turned out to be so pleasant and bright for a cold and cloudy winter! It's so warm!

But in order to play it fully, like in Sims 2, you need to set it up first. And it's not that everything is difficult, but I suffered.

1.To begin with, as in the case of Sims 2 - Graphic Rules Maker

In the drop-down menu, select Castaway or find it manually.

In general, the setup is similar to Sims 2 and there are many guides on this topic, but I want to clarify that if you are going to use the reshade, then you need to check the box next to the "Disable Dirty Rectangle".

2.Then, as in the case of Sims 2, you need to patch the game to avoid crashes.

3.I haven't checked if the RPC launcher works for this part. But if you don't have it, then here are the instructions for installing the ReShade.

4.Next, install mods and cc.

Just like in Sims 2, create a "Downloads" folder in the documents.

And don't be like me - don't forget to enable this option. I've broken my whole head why only floors and CAS items work, but buy mode and hacks don't…

On the MTS website, it is recommended not to install mods until you complete the main plot, otherwise it may break. I haven't experimented with this, but cc for CAS and for buy mode don't break the game.

5. My must have list of mods:

1)Garden Crop and Ultimate Fruit Collection - An absolute musthave, because in any survival there should be gardening as a constant source of food. I moved all the plants to the "general" section in the simpe, which corresponds to the "Nature" section. Otherwise, they will simply have nowhere to appear.

2) Woodworking bench - That was the first thing I thought about when I started playing this game. It works great, but! Do not try to make a guitar, a violin and a shelf, otherwise the table will freeze. I cut out all these functions from my desk and put it in the "Survival" section (corresponds to the "Sitting-rest" section), which I advise you, otherwise it will appear in the mirrors by default.

3)A workaround for the broken MoveObjects cheat - Required for the previous mod.

Be careful with the mods for autonomy! Many of them disable the entire autonomy of the game
