What do you get when you mix a touch-starved, neurodivergent, career academic on a journey of self-discovery, a recently-disabled former soldier doing his best to save every last soul he meets (who refuses to admit that his injury has changed his life in the slightest), a dystopian road trip, coping skills that require safe words, and the persistent hold of a society that was irretrievably broken long before it finally collapsed?
The apocalypse hasn't seen anything, yet.
Or: The post-apocalyptic, reconstruction-era story about loving yourself first, featuring autistic adoptee Castiel trying to unravel his identity in a world that's already ended, and former soldier, current social worker, newly-disabled Dean who's built an entire new world for everyone else and still badly needs to redefine himself so that he can live in it.

SUMMARY:
It’s doubtful that today’s Summoner is any sort of threat. Natural enemies aren’t something that Castiel is even aware of having at the current moment, and Hunters are rare in this day and age. The ones who persist and are privy to his existence should equally understand that challenging such a creature wouldn’t be productive (for them). No, Castiel suspects that the being on the other end of this spell wants what most beings want from him—a granted wish.
“My dad was a hunter,” Dean declares plainly. “Ain’t a single solitary soul on this planet hating what I do more than him. That man raised me to be his soldier, to kill creatures, not bend over for ‘em.” He pauses and winks, clicking his tongue against his teeth. “Big part of why I do it.” Somewhat nonchalantly, he stretches, reaching both arms high over his head and thus causing his t-shirt to ride up and expose a tantalizing bit of belly.
For once, Castiel’s hunger isn’t for blood or souls.

4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
Well it WAS Hunter's Caress and Dreaming in Digital. Both of those sat in my head for about 6 years until I wrote them. HC was a liiiiittle bit longer than DiD, but I got them both done before I collapsed into burnout. The next in line is based on the original dirtybadwrong unhappy version of Addicted to You. It's been haunting me since 2016ish, and I poke at it now and then, but I can't seem to get past a certain point. I think it's partially related to burnout, and partially related to darkfic being much harder to write than it is to read lol
No existential dread about it though... I definitely want to finish it someday. But if it never happens, at least I know that I have AtY which still has the kernals of that original darkfic lurking in its chapters :)
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
The only fic I ever really researched for was Satin and Sawdust. It's not so much that I learned something neat as it made me want to remodel my bathroom lol... I haven't done it yet. But I saved all the how to videos in case I ever change my mind!
I'm not huge into research. I might find someone who knows more about a subject than I do and ask them questions, but I'm happy glossing things over. I have leveled up in the the school of handwavery magic ;D

Hello, I’m somewhat new to the fandom and absolutely in love with your artwork! Do you write fic for any of your art or draw for any fic writers out there?

Yes, I've written a few stories over the years, some of which have artwork included and some that don't. I don't tend to write a story to go with my art, it kinda goes the other way around for me (write the fic and then make the art to include with it.)
