the very idea of cuddling is so foreign to connor. he understood the logistics behind sleeping, but all the little things humans add to the act didn’t make sense: their ability to doze off on any given surface, take midday naps, even the countless positions available. cuddling was another inexplicable add-on. it could end in sleep, sex, or...nothing. when he attempted to blend in and powered off at night to resemble sleeping, it was still very robotic. he laid flat on the bed, stiff as a board, and if you listened closely you could hear the whir of a fan somewhere in his system.

when you recommended cuddling before bed, connor tried not to make a face. he wasn’t opposed to the idea -- far from it -- but he had no idea where to start. the blue flush across his cheeks only grew more pigmented when you awkwardly instructed him to get comfortable on the couch, snuggling up to his side the moment he settled down. it took him a few moments to figure out how to position himself in a way that accomdated both of you on the sofa, but when he did it....made sense.

there’s more to being a human than experiencing emotions; it’s a bone-deep base of existence that connor will never fully grasp. but in moments like these, with your head on his chest, tucked beneath his chin, and his hand placed gently against your hip -- it hits him; you fit together better than should be logically possible. and he decides in that moment he wants to hold you like that forever - or at the very least, whenever he can.

+ connor’s favorite cuddling position is you on his chest. you can lay down entirely on him if you wish or just rest your head on his chest and listen to his thirium pump working beneath. he also LOVES spooning and is more inclined to be a little spoon. he loves “waking up” (aka rebooting) and feeling the soft kiss you press against his nape in the morning ♡

GAH ok this is like my first game of thrones fanfic post and im so excited. i wrote a jon fic literally like 5 years ago and that was it, so this is pretty new territory, but i hope you enjoy!! >:)

jaime is a bit of a hopeless romantic, so when you show up on his radar, the metaphorical rose-colored glasses immediately impact his view. he wants you, and if all goes well, you’ll want him too -- so what is there to worry about? he’s gotten away with more, and in worse situations, so this should be easy. it’s not until your first run in with his enemies, or worse, cersei/tywin, that he realizes how cautious you both have to be. he's a kingsguard for gods' sake -- and you... what? a handmaiden? squire? fellow knight? royal guest? you spend nearly as much time in the red keep as he does, but he can't get married, and if he could, it most certainly wouldn't be to you. even showing you the slightest affection is akin to a death sentence and any physical traces of his courtship could be used as blackmail against the richest family in the seven kingdoms.

this is when jaime's insecurities set in. what if one day you wish to be married? to have a family? there are many things he can provide you with, gold to drown in until the end of your days, but he knows it's little compared to the weight of a secret relationship. that's why his courting is so perfect, tailored to all of your preferences. he knows you, almost better than you know yourself, and he hopes that is enough to prove his loyalty -- and to secure your own. he knows he will never officially have you, but you're still his, and he will use any power in his reach to remind you of that. clothing of the highest quality, hidden kisses on the shore of the narrow sea, love letters folded and tucked neatly beneath your bedding -- anything he can get away with, jaime will do. he especially loves acts of service and will do little things to make your life easier: scaring away unwanted admirers, hiring others to do your job for you, even sending food to you when he knows you’re too busy and likely to forget. the longer your courtship goes, the more his flirtatious/smug side makes an appearance. an extra bit of caution is lost in these moments, and he feels confident sending you a smirk across the throne room or sneaking into your accommodations in the dead of night to hold you close. no amount of fretting will deter jaime -- he'll make sure to sneak out before dawn, he reassures. until then, let him kiss your hands, embrace you, and imagine what it would be like to experience this every night.
