The Misty Night - Castle Ravenloft painted in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. 🏰🧛 18 x 24" acrylic paint on canvas.
I finished this painting at the beginning of December in 2022. Ever since I joined tumblr a few days ago, I have been eager to share this one here.

From my Curse of Strahd handout pack on Etsy. Here is the Durst family crest! I probably could have made it a little more interesting, but I figured i could keep it simple with these mcmansion owning tiny lords

Sturm is that forgotten middle child of the von Zarovich's SO left behind that even fifth addition doesn't remember him.

Our combat map setup for the finale of our Curse of Strahd campaign, @alcanter-draws handmade these room tiles and multi level setup to help us all visualize the space and it was such a stunning and efficient way to handle running all over the castle combat

So Rhil might have "wandered" a bit too deep into Ravenloft, and she might have some regrets.
She's alive! But boy, she almost wasn't. Her back got singed pretty badly while she ran for her life.
I hope Strahd didn't hear that dragon roar 👍

Ezra leapt from Ravenloft's tallest tower.
It's been a while since this happened, but it's still one of my favorite moments. I literally jumped out of my chair. The adrenaline was on.
We went to dinner with Strahd. It went fine. (Another story. The point is that we were in the castle on amicable terms.) And after dinner, we explored the castle with Strahd's permission (he probably figured we'd naturally get ourselves killed).
We explored the crypts, we took Sergei's armor (also another story), slipped Emil a set of thieves' tools (I think he was being actively monitored), and retrieved the skull of Argynvost. We found Strahd's teleportation hub and figured out how it worked.
And we were about to leave.
But then we figured, well, we're already here - let's push our luck. When will we have this opportunity again? Probably never?
So we check out one more staircase. But, as we round the corner, Strahd is there. And he is livid. We have worn out our welcome.
Ezra throws Silence at him and we book it for the teleportation circle. No one looks back. We know what we've done, and we're not about to get into a fight we know we can't win.
We use the skull to target Argynvostholt with the teleportation circle. But we know Strahd could be hot on our heels and might just follow us through to wherever we went, killing us dead, because the revenants can't help us until we light the beacon. We're so close.
So Ezra has an Idea. As he steps into the circle, he throws another object into the air - one of the preprogrammed targets for the circle - hoping it will land and change the circle's destination after he's gone through.
The party makes it to Argynvostholt.
Ezra doesn't.
He ends up in a tiny room in the tallest tower of Castle Ravenloft. Strahd will be there any second, so he doesn't spare it a single glance; just climbs.
Out on the roof, he sees red. It knows. A headless suit of bulky red armor comes charging toward him.
Ezra runs, feet pounding on the aged tiles. He makes it to the outer wall.
Dark clouds overhead twist into a horrifying visage of Strahd von Zarovich, a thick swarm of bats pouring out of its maw.
Ezra never stops. He runs harder than he ever has in his life.
And he jumps.
For a moment, in the air between the deadly rooftops of the castle and the swirling white mists below, he can almost see her, falling with her arms outstretched, in perfect parallel.
He casts Feather Fall.
. . .
And then our DM gave us the horrible little epilogue reveal:
Strahd is still in the stairwell. He stops his tirade and straightens, looking satisfied with himself. He laughs. And then... the image fades. It was only an illusion.

Flight, in Castle Ravenloft.
Pea had some very important wild shapes and polymorph moments in our most recent session in Curse of Strahd. Had to draw her as a giant eagle (Pea colours)!

Alright! As a strange sort of announcement, I am in the works of starting a new endeavor that I like to call...
Project Ravenloft!
As someone who plays a lot (and I mean a LOT) of D&D, I've always wanted to play through Curse of Strahd. Of course, being as extra with tabletop as I am, I was always disappointed that there was no Castle Ravenloft set I could spend ludicrous amounts of money on to play in. So, without further ado, I have decided to just build the monstrosity myself! If you're interested in the project, I'll post occasional updates here. I have also made a tiktok for the project as linked below (Introduction Video is Out! :D )
Happy Adventuring!!!

Here's the intro to a silly Curse of Strahd one-shot I'm doing cause 2 of my players are gonna be absent next session. The players will be 3 skeletons and it's called Bones & Nobles.
The year is 14 BSR (Before Strahd's Reign). Count Strahd von Zarovich is sitting in his study, surrounded by bookshelves, with a pen and quill in hand, writing away on a notebook illuminated by candlelight. Through the window behind him, there is a heavy downpour, dark, clouded skies, and the occasional flash of lightning.
Heavy footsteps echo from down the hall and a beefy, grizzled dwarf with a raging look in his eyes makes his way into the room, pointing his greataxe at Strahd, bellowing, “YOU!” Strahd barely looks up, pretending like he doesn't even notice, but you can see a slight smirk come across his face.
KACHUNK!
An invisible bear trap makes its appearance clamping down on the barbarian’s right leg. He winces but powers through, taking another step.
KACHUNK!
A second, comically-placed invisible bear trap makes its way onto the barbarian's left leg.
Strahd turns to you. “You would think they would stop and reconsider their decisions or, at the very least, check for more traps, after the first one but no, they fall for it every time.”
The barbarian lets out a roar, absolutely fuming. He drags his legs across the floor but doesn't make it far before falling to his knees. Just before he does though, he heaves his greataxe straight at the dark lord himself. The axe goes flying through the air but stops just short of Strahd, like an invisible barrier had been in place all along. “YOU TOOK THEM AWAY FROM ME. YOU TOOK EVERYONE AWAY FROM ME. YOU'RE GONNA PAY YOU SICK SON OF A—”.
You look over at the dwarf as his words fall short and realize what stopped him: he no longer has a mouth. Strahd chuckles to himself, lifts a hand up into the air, causing the bear of a dwarf to float upwards as he flails about. The body floats over a third comically-placed invisible bear trap, past Strahd’s desk, and out the window. As the body disappears, the castle reforms itself, mending the broken window.
Strahd turns back to each of you and says, “Now, where were we? Ah, yes, retrieve my very cool sword from the depths of the dungeon, it should be in my brother's tomb. I'm sure I'll come up with a cool name for it in the next 314 years. And, feel free to take your time because I, have… business to attend to.”
Just then, Rahadin steps out of the shadows in a red, silk bathrobe, revealing a good bit of chest hair, and says, “It's me, I'm business.”

From my Curse of Strahd handout pack on Etsy. I made 2 church crests for this handout pack. All churches in Barovia seem to be that of the Morninglord so I figured each one whould just be a sun, with a different color and feild.
So there's Vallaki, a sanguine all-wiggle sun on a Argent(white, or in this case transparent) field, and Krezk which is a Or(Gold) spike and wiggle sun on a Azure(blue) field.
