So assuming you have watch all of them, do you have any list / ranking of best Chenford related episodes? Or can you give us your ranking of best Chenford related episodes? Really want to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you!

Hi @xiaozhen16! First off thank you for your lovely comment on my reviews. Means a lot I'm so glad you enjoy them. :) Also appreciate you wanting my thoughts on this. Let's see I have been with The Rookie since day one, actually pre-green light. I followed Nathan after Castle and his next project and saw The Rookie get its green light. So i've been with since the literal jump. Seen all eps for sure more than once haha Think I've rewatched it least 5 times since it started. Thank you for being patient while I took the time to answer this. Life is hard to fit stuff in so thank you. It'll be a long reply lol In order to answer this properly I'm going to do top 5 with an honorable mentions that could span up to 5 cause this is hard LOL Those will be in no particular order. I'll do it for each season. Except S5. I just can't choose S5 down to a top ten.

I love that entire season. But I can do 1-4. Someday I can rank S5 on its own ranking the entire season if you like but for now it'll be this. Let me know if you'd like me to do that in the comments. But for this one Each season has something different to offer for them. So it'll be easier to break it down by season but only going up to S4. Hopefully you enjoy this detailed reply. Anyone is welcome to comment and such too.

Season 1.

1x14 Plain Clothes Day

Hands down this is my favorite episode of S1 for them. It's a very telling episode for them both. Lots of growth as well. Lucy is hell bent to prove herself to Tim. She is nervous but driven to prove to Tim she is worth investing his time in. Her day is a plethora of jitters and mistakes. Tim consistently getting under her skin and rattling her cage. Then at the last minute like a phoenix rising from the ashes Lucy makes the right call. Such a clutch moment that impresses Tim more than he'll ever let on. Doesn't hesitate for one moment checking that man's garage out.

This is a huge step towards her growth as a cop and a person really. Its seminal episode for Lucy. A stepping stone to her confidence and learning to trust her instincts and not second guess herself. For Tim it's realizing as much as he loves to mess with Lucy he wants her to succeed more. He states in the very beginning of the episode how he's had 11 rookies wash out on this day. ELEVEN. He hasn't cared if his rookies have washed out 11 times. Then Lucy Chen walked into his life. Disrupted his life in the best way.

With her incredibly driven sunshine ways he REFUSES to let her be his 12th. Does everything in his ability to keep her from being fired. They have a lot of lovely moments in this episode ranging from messing with her to fiercely protecting her from that tool-bag trying to take her job. The scene outside the captain's office where he has to re-write her eval gah so very good. Overall just an amazing episode of moments and growth for them as characters and as a ship. Another step towards their rock-solid bond.

2. 1x20 Free Fall

What's not to love about this finale? It's the culmination of everything they've been through to this point in the season. We watch how Tim instantly protects Lucy from being infected. At first he's in control of the situation (or so he thinks..) Trying to keep Lucy calm while on the inside he is panicking. Attempting to keep up his tough T.O. act with her. Determined to show Lucy he's bulletproof no matter the situation. That quickly begins the devolve the longer he is in that room.

The more he has to deal with this disease alone the worse it gets. We get a front row seat into protective Lucy. The way she is losing it for Tim on the outside. Doing anything and everything to get him out of there. This is the first time we get to see Tim trust Lucy emotionally and not hesitate. Not only that but so openly. She has been knocking on the door of this all season.

The scene above is her reward for all that work. The role reversal that happens here is wonderful. Where Lucy becomes the rock. The one to comfort him while Tim is battling with his dark thoughts of suicide if this goes sideways. Trusting her enough to tell her such deep thoughts. Lucy guiding him through those emotions best she can. It's a fantastic way to end the season for them. Lots of earned moments in this one.

3. 1x11 Redwood

Our first Iconic OTP Line Episode. This is where we start to see Tim soften for Lucy. Those sharp edges dulling a bit. We get to watch how he knows exactly how to calm her when she is in a panic. Tim commands this entire episode for her. Distracting her from the moment that needle goes in to chewing out the nurse for not prioritizing her. It was our first glimpse into protective Tim and I was here for it. Excellent introduction to this side of him regarding Lucy. Does the Tim Bradford special where he tells her like it is while showing empathy.

The first time we get to see him care truly care and let her know that he's there. Has her back in a way no one really has before. Lucy is watching her career go down the drain in her eyes. Changing her life forever and is in panic city. Tim doesn't let her be a resident there for very long. This ep showcases how amazing he is at his job and how good Tim is with Lucy. Knows exactly what to do in order to keep her sane.

He spends his entire day distracting her and showing empathy in the process. Ultimately stopping her from going off the razor's edge. It's these moments she has with Tim that shift her POV of him. Why she fights for him like she does. Lucy knows the good heart this man has. That he cares about her as person. That she is more than just his rookie. It's so very good. Producing the line above. *sigh*

4. 1x07 The Ride Along

These early episode are what I like to call building block eps. The foundation that is laid in these are so important. It's Lucy showing up for Tim when he needs it most. Their relationship is in its infancy in these episodes. Being molded into what we see in the finale and honestly the future. Lucy noticing a serious wrong (Isabel taking advantage of Tim's deep loyalty) Not only noticing but not letting him throw his life/career away for it. The line above is EVERYTHING. She refuses to let Tim cross an ocean and compromise his soul for someone who wouldn't cross a puddle for him. The bravery it took for her take a stand I'll always commend her for. How scary it must've been for her to confront him like this. When he was still in his radioactive insanely damaged phase. Tim already meant more to her at this point than she expected. She couldn't stand back and watch him self-destruct for someone who didn't deserve it. Tim is not even close to being used to someone showing up for him like this at this point. It's so very foreign to him.

Not only that but someone putting him in place and knocking sense back into him. Something he comes to learn and love about Lucy. Becomes the fabric of their dynamic really. In the moment he's so angry with her but long term forever grateful she stepped in like she did. That crack in his wall starting to grow a little more. A defining moment for them early on in this season. They had me hook line and sinker after this. I was already low-key shipping them but this added to it.

5. 1x03 The Good The Bad and the Ugly

Another building block episode. A crucial one for them really. I love how their early episodes set them up beautifully for the rest of the season. If not for these episodes you wouldn't see how wonderful the growth is for them both. The episodes that'll be in my honorable mentions are the fruit of these. Because without seeing where they came from how could we deeply appreciate how far they've come? Tim is imploding at a high velocity in this episode. Doesn't care about the collateral damage either. At this point that damage radius includes Lucy.

We truly see Tim as his very worst in the beginning. The beautiful thing is Lucy see's past his hurt into who he is as a person. He is worth getting through to. Also she also see's he is a god damn dumpster fire. One that if she doesn't put him out he's going to take her down with him. You know Tim respects the hell out of her for the scene above. (Not in the moment but in the long term of it all.)

For standing up to him and showing him how selfish he was being. It's what earns her that wonderful scene in the shop afterwards. Where he opens up and tells her about Isabel and a little bit of their history. His way of thanking her for getting his head on straight. Their early stuff is so raw but so good. They're learning how to function together. Usually one of them leading the other more depending on the situation. Start of their wonderful dynamic.

Honorable mentions-Ones I wanted to include cause they're amazing but can only gif the top 5 and one mention ha So it'll be my top ten for each season. They have so many good eps.

1x18 Home Front

So much to love about this one. Lucy busting his chops the entire ep. Get our first glimpse into their playful work flirts. Her challenging him on his personal life and not work for the first time. Standing her ground in that opinion. Like she does best with him. Telling Tim he needs something other than work. Naturally is defensive at first and eventually caves in. It results in the cute paintball moment above we all know and love.

1x19-Checklist-We get another glimpse into what Tim is willing to do to keep Lucy from washing out. I love this episode and how we start to see Tim trust in her decision making skills. Like the woman with the swapped plates. She lets her go and it ends up working out for her. The final scene is the best where he logs OT for her to continue on in the program. Lucy feeling so supported with this gesture. *heart clutch* So good.

1x16 Green light- Our first look into how protective Lucy can be about Tim. Their rank be damned in her opinion. The way she protects and defends him to Detective Murphy is glorious. Not caring she's her superior officer. She is kicking him when he is already down and Lucy won't stand for it. Then Tim returns the favor when she's upset about catching Cole. ‘Grief is grief. It’s a hole that can’t be filled. But over time, it’ll shrink enough so that you won’t fall in every time you take a step.’ His growth in this line is amazing to watch unfold. How he has grown since his whole debacle with Isabel.

1x15-Man Hunt.- We see some more fruit of Lucy's impact on Tim. Him wanting to do more with his career. He decides to go for Sergeant and we all know she is part of that reason. Also we get a glimpse into Tim and his rookie days through Deacon and his 54 connection. Lucy is delighted to get a birds eye view to his past. It's the scene where they're defending the escaped prisoner that's the best. Saying how he refuses to do something he will be ashamed in the light of day. This moment being proof Lucy's impact on him from 1x07. Its beautifully full circle.

1x01 Pilot-Gotta include the pilot. It's what set the table for them. "Officer Bradford gets our hot shot." He sure does. Getting a look into them as characters and where they start off from. It's what hooked me to this show to begin with. Other than just my love for Eric and Nathan at the time lol I saw deep characters with so much potential and I've been hooked ever since.

Season 2. Has an unreal amount of good eps for them did my best to keep it to ten.

2x11 Day of Death

Naturally this iconic episode is my favorite of S2. How could it not be? This is a massively seminal moment in their history. It's where they go from border-line friends to bonded in a way no one else will ever understand. We watch Lucy fight tooth and nail to stay alive. She is so resilient because she knows Tim is on his way. He won't let her die. Won't Let Caleb win. Her immense amount of faith is beautiful. Knowing that he will get to her in time. Not a doubt in her mind.

We watch Tim race against the clock to rescue her. The pressure and anxiety mounting through out the entire episode for him. Like a weight on his soul he refuses to put down until she is back. We get to witness how much Tim has come to care about Lucy. See the depth's he will go to get her back safely. Also get to see a darker side to him. Which I wasn't totally opposed to seeing in order to get to her. (and wouldn't mind seeing again. tbh) 'Today is your day of reckoning. I am responsible for a life that is in jeopardy, and I will do whatever I have to, to save her.' *fans self* That man is on edge from the moment she goes missing till she is in his arms above.

First actual relaxing breath he takes the entire ep. You see how his body slumps against her in relief as he holds her. How deeply worried he was and won't let her out of his sight afterwards. We all know that man slept at the hospital all night and didn't take his eyes off her until she woke up. To make sure he was the first face she saw. That final scene in the hospital a beautiful look into the deep bond they've formed at this point. I love them sfm. Where we get our next Iconic OTP Line. 'You know me so well. Too Well.' Amongst a flurry of heart eyes and emotions.

2. 2x12 Now and Then

What I love the most about this episode is how Tim steps back. Let's her get taken care of by someone other than himself. Control Freak Tim Bradford hands the reins over. Because her recovering is more important than his ego. The growth I can not. He see's a blind spot within himself that he can not help out with. So he heeds Nyla's words when she approaches him about taking her on. He watches anxiously from afar wanting not to over step the entire episode.

Lucy is hurt he doesn't let her ride with him right away. She is confused and her emotions are all over the place in this episode. Rightfully so. We get to see once again how much Tim cares about her. The way he's asking everyone around her how she is. Even asks Nolan how she is really doing. You know that was hard for him to do. We get to the end of the episode and this glorious scene above. Tim sharing a piece of his past to heal her present.

You can tell he so desperately wants to take on some of her pain. That if he could he would. Still shouldering the weight of her being taken being on him. Trying to give her some hard won perspective. This is his way of saying he's so proud of her, he misses her, hoping him sharing his past brings her back to him. Brings Lucy back to being his sunshine human. Not the angry resentful one he see's in front of him. It's a beautiful scene for the both of them. The sweet smiles when he tosses back the ring. My damn heart.

3. 2x13 Follow Up Day

Another Iconic moment in S2. This season is full of them. Ground breaking moments that drive them forward as a ship. He's passed his Sergeants exam. Hooray. Lucy is SO DAMN PROUD when they get the news. It's the thing he's been working toward since the beginning of S2. He's offered a Hollywood post. One that he can have quickly. A prominent position for him right out the gate and yet he hesitates. Why you ask? Well he's a little too attached to his current rookie that he pretends he isn't attached to. (While dating her best friend might I add. Something I would forget regularly in this season)

Lucy reminds him why he wants to stay around and not leave yet. She challenges him, supports him and believes in Tim in a way he's never had before. Has unwavering faith in him. He says he's not done training her yet. When really he's not ready to let go of the influence she's had on his life. Heart eyes galore. She is more important than moving up atm. I love it.

4. 2x02 The Night General

The beginning of Tim's quest to study for being a Sergeant. It starts off as Tim torturing Lucy with reading his out of print book to him. What starts out as him enjoying making her read it turns into so much more. Lucy quickly turns it around on him. Because well Lucy. Decides on specific segments to have him recite back. Quickly annoying him and he loses this game fairly quickly. It's during this studying we find out Tim learns a certain way. That he must be in motion to absorb the material. (Me too love) He doesn't take this news in stride very well because it's Tim.

Lucy goes above and beyond to apologize for upsetting him. She spends what I assume is any free time between shifts recording the book for him. Not only does she do this she reassures him that it's ok to learn this way. There is no shame in it even compliments him because of it. Telling him its why he excels at being a cop. I

I just adore this moment so much because she builds him up and encourages him. Never once letting him feel shame for how he learns. Lucy taking care of him in ways Tim can't even comprehend atm. He is overwhelmed by her support and empathy. Can only muster a really loaded 'Thanks.' Such a lovely building block for them. Also welcome to the sweaty gun show above *fans self*

5. 2x08 Clean Cut

Ahh the protective Lucy episode. We get to see how far Tim will go for Lucy in this season. The audience also gets to see how far Lucy is willing to go to protect and defend Tim. Just like in 1x16 she charges head long at a superior to defend Tim. Refusing to let anyone sully his name or character. From the moment their shop hits that woman's car she goes into 'Protect Tim mode.' at all costs.

Hell raining down on anyone who gets in the way of her clearing his name. Eating anyone trying to stop her from righting this wrong she KNOWS is a wrong against him. Tim is so defeated and resigned after it happens. He's not going to defend himself so Lucy takes it on herself to do this. The ferocity is noticed by Tim. Why he lets her lead the questioning against the shady BF.

Lucy breathes life back into him that they could overturn this. That unshakeable faith she has in him. Refusing to let him give up on himself. It's the way she builds him up and won't let him think any less of himself I adore so much. After it's reversed and he gets his award she's a proud wifey. Even throwing back his own words at him when he thanks her. Eyes full of love. It's fantastic full circle moment for them.

Honorable Mentions

2x19-Q Word

As I've said earlier S2 is chock full of goodies. Tim learning the place he still holds in Lucy's life. He is her GO TO. A place he thought he had lost in 2x11. He gave up having that spot in her life because he no longer felt worthy of it. That he was given his shot and he blew it. Lucy not for one damn second thought he forfeited that. She was more upset he wasn't engaging with her about this than anything else.

Lucy does her best to relieve him of his burden. Of the guilt he continues to feel. To let him know it was NOT his fault. That his opinion is one of most value to her. The very opposite of what Tim thought of his place in her world. It's a good episode. One of the best parts above. Lucy applying some salve to his guilty soul.

2x06 Fallout

Lots to love in this ep. Tim trying and failing at 'being nice' to Lucy while she goes through her emotions about her ex. To him tapping into his actual soft side for her. The genuine side. Them facing a bomb threat and Lucy getting to unleash all her anger about her ex's wedding Such a good scene.. With a little of Lucy throwing his words back like no one else can. Lastly ending with them deciding to spend their last moments on earth together drinking booze. Damn good ep.

2x10-The Dark Side

Ahhh the pre-DOD episode. Where Tim spends the entire episode being over protective of Lucy and not sure why he is. All he knows is he doesn't like this guy sniffing around her. His cop gut screaming at him with a mixture of jealously and actual worry. The whole episode is one giant foreshadowing for the following episode.

2x14 Casualties

Tim background eps are always my jam. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this man and learning of his history. Getting a little look into his life in the service with Mitch. Also the intro of their fur-baby Kojo and how very unready Lucy is to care for him. We get our next Iconic OTP line 'Some things matter more.' A moment which is such a prominent scene for them. Good precursor to the moment they share in 2x19 as well.

2x01 impact

The premiere got some real good stuff. We see how Tim reacts so very poorly to Lucy protecting him. Regressing them both with his flour bomb moment. HIs anger coming out in everything he does with her in this episode. Lucy taking it at first then reaches her boiling point towards the end. Basically hands him his ass in a way only Lucy Chen can. It's glorious. Turns him around so much he brags on her to Grey later on about her jump after a suspect. 'Of course she did. I trained her.'

Season 3

3x09 Amber

Ahh my fav ep of the season. This episode has so many good moments. Lucy with her list for a 'healthy parting.' How she is determined to make her last day a big deal with Tim. Where as Tim is also determined, just in the opposite direction. Because if he talks about it he's going to have to face her leaving. Which we all know he does not want to do. Fights her on it most of the episode. Until something serious happens. Then Tim finally gives in to distract Lucy from the stressful baby scenario they're currently in.

Takes care of her by letting her do the bloody list he's trying to avoid. They have a lovely moment of reminiscing over Plain Clothes Day. How far Lucy has come since that moment. The amount of confidence she had gained. Learning to trust her instincts fully. Something Tim saw in her day one and wanted her to hone in on. Lucy then brings up UC and Tim saying she doesn't have what it takes. it leads into the most iconic moment of the episode. Where she "pretends" to have feelings for Tim.

Sending Tim into an ABSOLUTE panic till she can't take it anymore and breaks into pure laughter. Wounding his pride severely in the process of proving her point. We get two epic moments in this episode. The parking garage scene is lovely. A culmination of the last year of so. How far they've both come. His last eval being one that brings them full circle. Lucy's flour bomb finishing off the nostalgia. The heart eyes galore in this scene and its topped off with them calling each other by their first names. Starting a new chapter with this wonderful moment.

2. 3x14 Threshold

I LOVE this episode so much. It's why it's number 2. This episode is the culmination of Lucy's fast track UC training with Harper. Lucy chomping at the bit to prove herself. A VERY anxious Tim observing from the outside. The flirty flirt we get in the car makes me squee every time. Little bit of Tim and Lucy truly coming out in that moment. The touching is everything as she communicates silently with him about what's going on.

Then we get this moment above. Where they are blatantly flirting and checking each other out. Especially Tim. Man could not be more transparent in his attraction to Lucy at this point. The elevator gaze before they even talk. *fans self* Shameless flirting, praise from Tim and to top it off Tim is the one to ask Lucy to save him a dance. I remember going out of my mind with excitement when I saw this episode. Look at them above. My god the UST in immense and I love it so very much.

3. 3x06 Revelations

The episode where Lucy begins her interest in UC. It's a ROUGH episode for Tim for a lot of reasons. From his PTSD about Isabel with Mack showing up to seeing Lucy put in harms way. We see the protective side come out fiercely in this one. He doesn't even try to tamp it down. Especially in front of others. i.e. the entire OP room LOL Tim battling past demons and losing terribly. Seeing his favorite human put at risk isn't sitting well with him. His panic at losing her or possibly getting hurt making him lose his mind.

Lucy just wanting him to be proud of her. For showing an interest outside of patrol. To be excited she got put on an OP because she kicked ass on the fly. Impressed Harper enough to green light her. His approval and opinion meaning the entire world to her. When he doesn't she is so very discouraged. That's what makes the moment above so important and amazing. Tim putting aside those demons and letting her have that approval and praise she earned ten times over. Because at the end of the day this OP was about her and not him. So he puts her first with the lovely moment above.

4. 3x11 New Blood

Where we see Lucy be utterly CONSUMED by jealously and insecurities. Tim gets his new rookie and Lucy is excited at first. Then see's Tim isn't treating her anywhere near how she was treated in the beginning. He's being nice, letting her drive, buying her coffee, being soft and empathetic. All things she had to drag out of him kicking and screaming. I've said this before but Tim was her first real 'puppy' with massive success. It was a lot of work though for her to have the relationship she has with him now.

Then this Katie Barnes comes in and gets it all in one shift. Lucy is losing her damn mind most of the ep. Watching from afar with massive jealously. Poor Jackson has to listen to it most of his shift LOL Comes with the bestie territory though. By the end of the episode she see's Tim filling out her paperwork and lets Tim have it. What I love is he doesn't get mad at her for it.

Doesn't reprimand her just quell's her insecurities. Explaining why he was training Barnes the way he was. Then seals the scene with the lovely line above. Lucy is absolutely beaming when he walks away. Full of so much joy and happiness she can't contain herself. He thinks she is one of the best rookie's he's trained and lets her know it. Saying maybe one day Katie could be as good as her. *sigh* So good.

5. 3x01 Consequences

Their first marriage episode of the season. Where Lucy is on Tim like white on rice. Her confidence and self esteem shines through out this season and this is the starter episode of it all. The way they go through Nolan's house together is fantastic. She challenges Tim the entire time with her own cop gut. It's so fun to watch the back and forth.

They go from cute banter to Tim being a fierce protector when they have to go see Rosalind. Tim tries to prevent her from going in. Wanting to shield her from this monster. Lucy refuses says she can handle it. Rosalind just see's someone she can play with. Tim attempts to hold back. Not interfere and tries to keep Lucy steady. Then loses it when she taunts Lucy with her barrel song. The official title of 'Fierce protector.' is born in this moment. Such a good episode for them beginning to end.

Honorable Mentions

3x02 In-Justice

I adore this ep because it is one giant flirting session. The scene above alone is proof of that. Tim just sitting back and enjoying the Lucy show. Setting up a game he knows she is going to absolutely crush. (and does) They're legit flirting in front of their call for like two minutes before they disengage and Lucy works her magic. Also we get to see how soft Tim is for Lucy and gone for her with her car. Telling her to get over until Caleb PTSD in brought into the picture. It's then he caves instantly. Also the introduction of their pseudo daughter Tamara. Lucy's 'puppy.'

3x04-Sabotage

The fruit of the last couple eps coming to fruition. Lucy having Tim revisit something he did on her first shift. Confronting him about how he treated those gardeners. Not only that but the impact he had on them through his actions. This brings Tim's defenses immediately up and he snaps at her. Trying to defend his actions because he is feeling defensive. He does a poor job of it and shuts down completely. Reason being he's ashamed of who he was then and Lucy bringing it up hurts in a way he wasn't expecting.

We get to see our boy go through some serious growth. MASSIVE growth really. I could not be prouder of him for it. For not shutting down for the rest of the day. Letting Lucy know he was wrong and what he can do so it never happens again. Love this ep for the Tim growth, Lucy calling him out and letting him know how proud she is of him. It's such a good moment/ep for them.

3x07 True Crime

I personally LOVE the documentary episodes so much. The reason being their banter is the best part. Their chemistry is on full display for all to see. Lucy owns Tim's ass in this one. Shoots down all his cocky comments. He is also all heart eyes whenever she isn't crushing him with her words ahha. Light hearted fun ep for them.

3x08 Bad Blood

Good ep for Tim telling her like it is when he's trying to avoid it like the plague haha Emmett breaking up with her over text. Lucy doesn't handle it well. She self destructs till Tim does what he does best and gives her some solid perspective. Helping her finally solve the 'Why' behind her break up.

3x05 Lockdown

Tim and Lucy being a united front against Doug is the absolute best. How Tim comes tearing into the station after Stanton and Lucy has to stop him. Then Stanton is an extra ass and Tim then has to prevent Lucy from hurting him. The way they have each other's backs always gets to me. They spend the entire episode this kick ass duo determined to protect Jackson. I love it sfm.

Season 4 another super hard one for me but top ten helped.

4x09 Breakdown

I'm sure some of you thought I would choose 4x22. It follows this one pretty closely but I ADORE this episode. It's my favorite for so many reasons. Lucy has a day off and how does she spend it? With Tim and his sister redoing his childhood home. Totally normal 'Friend' status there. Nothing soulmate level about that at all....Then they spend the episode chasing down his father's sordid past. This is due to a gun they find in the wall. Not only that but how heavily Tim leans on Lucy during the process.

Let's her take the lead and trusts her to handle portions of it for him. Like interrogating his dad's former mistress. Then we get this GLORIOUS scene above. Hands down my favorite hug of their's. Tim confronting his father and walking out feeling nuclear in his emotions. He is radioactive from that interaction and so very hurt. He explains what his father did to Lucy. He's so disgusted and hurt.

Then he is NEEDING Lucy to know he isn't his father. That the Tim tests don't make him like his dad. He is on the verge of tears as he says this to her. The most vulnerable we have ever seen Tim in general but especially with her. Lucy jumping into action and gathering him up in her arms. Comforting him, letting him know he is NOTHING like him. Tim sinks into the hug. Wraps himself entirely around her. Letting her hold him up emotionally. It's here we see the last of his wall crumble to the ground never to be rebuilt again. This was the ep I knew we were headed towards them getting together. All time fav ep.

2. 4x22 Day in The Hole

So much to love in this episode. From their daughter getting her ‘first’ car to finding Tim's bizzaro world double 'Dim' LOL Also the introduction of Juicy aha It's so good I can not. Lucy getting beyond excited to get Tim all dressed up for his UC mission. Especially with the tattoo's. Then when Juicy gets involved so does Lucy. It's AU Tim and Lucy and I was dying. Lucy breaks his brain in more ways than one above. The way she stuns him with her UC background for their characters LMAO He stumbles on his words and shifts like his pants are getting little tight for him heh. They haven't even kissed yet.

It will forever crack me up his reaction. Also the hilarious lead up to the kiss. How nervous and awkward they are. 'Well that's romantic....I wasn't trying to be romantic.' LMFAO. Clearly Timothy.... Eric and Melissa's chemistry on full display in this moment. Then the way Lucy just grabs his face and the kiss above happens. How they instantly melt into each other. Like why haven't we been doing this the entire time? You can see Tim ready to seriously deepen the kiss above. The pre-tongue action going on. Hot damn. I remember having to rewind it making sure what I was seeing was real.

The hilarity that ensures when Tamara walks in is so so funny. Never not cackle at this. Lucy's 'Oh!' and Tim is stumbling over himself to get out of there. Makes me laugh just writing it. The awkward 'Good jobs' and pointing. I'm dying. Tim's epiphany in the hallway is the best. Can no longer run from how he feels anymore. That kiss unlocking why he's felt the way he does. The awkward way they interact at the station. Both hiding in their vehicles waiting to find the courage to come out. Gah such a good finale leading to an incredible season 5.

3. 4x12 The Knock

Another episode on the road to them ending up together. They are at soulmate level territory in the scene above alone. The entire episode is fantastic. 'Personal space I don't know her' is the theme of this episode for them. From this 'date' to their case. Where Tim lets her take the lead. They're right on top of each other in that hallway scene when Tim is asking her POV on what they should do.

The beach date is one of the best parts. I don't know how both Ashley and Chris didn't just get up and leave. It's so obvious Tim and Lucy are the ones on a date. Chris and Ashley just happen to be there. The way they flirt the entire time, the inside jokes, the way they know each other so deeply. Their intimate connection on full display.

It's the lack of space I adore so much. That magnetic pull of their's. Never be over Gerald the goat. The way they lovingly stare at each other after he's told the story. The only ones laughing are them. To think either of them (Chris and Ashley) actually thought they had a chance against their bond. Such fools. I would've been highly threatened after that display. Something so intimate about knowing someone on an emotional level like they do. Height of their soulmate moments in this one.

4. 4x18-Backstabbers

Gah this episode be still my damn shipper heart. Lucy getting annoyed she isn't getting any recognition as Tim's aide. Naturally at first Tim pushes against it. Gives her crap for asking for it. Little bit of Old school Tim coming out in this scenario. But we see by the end of the episode him cracking for her. Like he always does. Tim cashing in on the dance he owed her from 3x14. How these two don't know they're in love at this point I couldn't tell you. Blows my damn mind.

The fact that he gives up recognition for her to have it. To further her career and telling her he wants her to be successful? Gah not to mention the heart eyes in this moment. Lucy is beaming brightly like a Christmas tree at this gesture. Tim is so so gone for her by this point it's oozing out of him. If you watched these two above with no context you'd think they were together. Everything about them says how in love they are. The entire scene is one giant I love you/in love with you moment. Tim I don't do weddings Bradford tearing up the dance floor with his girl. Gah I can not.

5. 4x01-Life and Death

The premiere is so very very good. Tim offering her a safe space the moment they get some time alone. Especially after hearing how heartbroken she is. How she can't go back to her apt without Jackson right now. The way he gives her a safe place to crash land into. I love it sfm. Then we get the gloriously intimate and beautiful hug above. The one that sparks the flame between them. One they've been trying to keep at a low flame roaring into an inferno. Their emotions and closeness ramping it up to a level neither is ready for.

The chemistry in this moment is out of this world good. Both being smacked in the face with the growing UST between them. Lucy going for it but it being shot down by Wesley's call. Gah such a good way to start an amazing season. Then Lucy spends the rest of the episode worrying about him from the other side of the world. Letting him know that worry until he makes it back. Such a good premiere.

Honorable Mentions

4x07 Fire Fight

This scene alone is why it's my first honorable mention. Phew lord. The fiery UST in this scene. HOT DAMN. The brazen way they're both looking at each other. This is totally platonic friendship right here....The intense gaze gets me in my shipper feels. Then Tim gets his wits about him a bit before sassing her. Telling her the mic is too high. Her ripping it right off and his face LOL They're so married it kills me. I do love the way she bosses him around in this scene and afterwards when he's in the car. She's projecting jealously entire time.

4x06 Poetic Justice

Oh you know just another episode where all they do is compete and flirt. Not caring about anyone else around them while they do so. Because they can't handle their emotions yet. So they intensely channel it into flirting and competitive things instead. I love these idiots so much.

4x08 -Hit and Run

I LOVE this episode for the Tim background alone. We get the introduction of his sister Genny. Who I love sfm. Lucy of course eats up her being there. She THRIVES on any morsel of info she can get on his background. Lucy is enjoying herself till his dark childhood is brought up. His sister is there to sell their childhood home and he doesn't want to be apart of it. ""Wha-what do you want? Some other family to just cuddle up under the broken plaster where dad slammed my head against the wall?" Ugh my heart. My boy. But it's such a good episode in full for Tim. Also for Lucy getting to meet his sister.

4x14-The Long Shot

This is a great episode for Lucy. We get to see more about her background as well. Finally finding out why her mother is the way she is with her. Her deep digging revealing her father isn't her real father. How much she struggles in this episode emotionally. We get to see how natural it is for Tim to be there for her. Not an ounce of fight left in him to stay out of her personal life. This is just part of who they are now and it's such growth I can not stand it.

4x16-Real Crime

Another gem for the documentary series. If you think they were married in this last one they double down on this one. The amount of cuteness, sass and marriage moments is primo in this one. 'Can I be interviewed alone?' LMAO The epitome of Grumpy x Sunshine. Lucy having the time of her life while Tim is a grumpsaurous. Their dynamic gives me life haha I adore this entire episode for them.

S5 I adore all it's own. If you want a ranking from 1-22 I can do that but I can not choose. Hurts me too much to do that LOL but here are my picks for 1-4. Once again thank you for being so patient on my reply. This was a hefty ask to answer thank you for asking me :) I hope you enjoy the answer.

in Mike's mind there's a dnd game, Lucas's mind is a fantasy about being with Max at their date watching a movie together and they are watching Lucas memory where they play dnd... Will's mind starts as him in castle byers very sad and depressed but then he moves until he reaches his memory with his friends and Mike and goes back to reality... Dustin's mind is him watching the TV and in the TV there's the same memory, Dustin has the robot from s3 that gets animated by eleven as a defence that makes Vecna get out and Lucas has a series of slingshots that throw rocks at Vecna!!

and Vecna can't take on their minds because they are optimistic and this is also because they met El and she showed them that they weren't powerless basically, and also they have each other because they are all connected by the happy memory of them playing d&d together!!!

Vecna gets annoyed because he can't find a way to control their minds yet... he's trying to break into Will's mind so that he can find a way to go in all of their minds to find Eleven during season 2

as we know he eventually can partly take over Will's mind but Mike and Will's family free him and Vecna doesn't win...

VERY probable that something similar happens in season 5, he will use not Will's feelings of isolation from friendship but his feelings of thinking he's gonna be alone for the rest of his life and will never be loved by Mike... the problem Vecna will have is that Mike Wheeler is queer too ☺️

Idk…ordering the invasion of a sellsword kingdom on another continent due to generational paranoia; ruling for three years; demanding your kids wed because of a prophecy (Jaehaerys II)

Unjustly executing noblemen by burning them alive; calling for the executions of their families just for their blood relation, causing most of the realm to turn against you; planning to blow up the Smelly City before your teenage body guard shanked you, thus finally bringing your failure dynasty’s rulership to an end (Aerys II)

…measured against the other Targ kings, Jaehaerys’ legacy of building a six-kingdoms long road looks pretty good, considering most of the Targs’ own building projects were for themselves (Summerhall, Maegor’s Holdfast, the f—king Maidenvault) or localized in the Smelly City (Great Sept). Then Septon Barth and Alysanne had some good ideas about cleaning up the city water supply, helping fund the Night’s Watch, some laws allegedly protecting women, and then Florence Fossoway kept the kingdoms financially profitable, which I guess adds to J1’s prestige. Tbh I consider J1’s 2 wars against Dorne to also be a mark against him, and I’m annoyed that F&B added the detail that the Dornish allegedly mourned the guy who along with his sons burned hundreds of them alive on dragon back. Same with the Doctrine of Exceptionalism, and basically turning the High Septon into a rubber stamp when before the Faith had been a reliable anti-Targ faction that demonstrated some care for the smallfolk. In addition to mistreating his daughters, in a way that goes beyond politics and escalates into spite (though he’s hardly alone in that, with how Alysanne treated Viserra).

Really, I don’t see why GRRM can call Robert Baratheon “a terrible king”, when compared to the Targs he’s above average, and actually better than some of their best kings in some regards (when he pardoned those who rebelled against him with few exceptions).

Give me a character and I will answer:

Why I like them:

Daniela is the baby of the family and it shows because she's such a brat who doesn't listen to anything or anyone she has no problems arguing with Bela right in front of their mother because she knows that Alcina is not going to say anything about it. She's also different from her sisters and I think this is really what gives her that distinctive personality and you can't just not love that, you know? Like, the girls are vicious hunters and Daniela especially has little impulse control (slashing that maid's face with a knife just because) but she's actually more tame and the weakest hunter out of the three. She has her own hobbies, she'd much rather be reading or looking after her flowers (she takes that very seriously) than go out and hunt. It made her weaker, which is why Alcina locked her up in the library to protect her because while she dotes on her youngest, she knows when things are about to get serious and that's when mama gets all protective. Cassandra- I love how fucking dramatic she is???? Waving that handkerchief is what did it for me I just knew this one is different and I was right. She's a brat, but unlike Daniela she doesn't keep to herself. Bela is appalled by the mess Cassandra caused in the cellars because this is just her brand. Chasing Ethan around going all "rawr" and literally just messing with him? Pure gold. I also live how her dramatic ass makes her flies scream when her mother is nearby just so that Alcina can make an entrance. You can easily tell she's a handful and the fact that their mother chose her to team up with tells you a lot. Alcina literally just lets her play and have fun, but she gets all serious and scolds her when it's needed. Idk but honestly Cassandra is the one who's closest to Alcina and she lives for the drama.

Why I don’t:

Doesn't apply. They're adorable cinnamon rolls who did nothing wrong their whole lives.

Favorite episode (scene if movie):

I loved Daniela arguing with Bela the most because yes this is obviously the baby and she's not afraid to run her mouth.

My favorite is how excited Cassandra gets when her mother is around like girlie is just beaming and literally just bouncing in excitement???? So precious.

Daniela:

1- She loves her sisters!! She argues with them a lot, and she always feels like they don't take her seriously but she cannot imagine living without them. 2- Despite her personality, she actually doesn't like anything related to horror and gets scared easily. 3- She has an innocent mindset. She doesn't always assume the worst about people, often taking their word at face value which can end her in bad situations because she does fall for these things (its also because she's eager to help) 4- She admires her mother greatly, hoping that one day she can grow up and be just as pretty. 5- She loves pranks and practical jokes! She pulls them on anybody, doesn't matter if its a family member or a staff member. Bored Daniela is going to have her fun one way or another.

Cassandra:

1- She loves souvenirs! Like whether in game or any AU, she's the one who just loves to have a reminder. In the game she literally says that, and she often keeps hair and nails of her victims because hey why not, you know? I think she'd be the same in modern AU like any place they visit Cass is the one raiding these souvenir shops buying heaps of things she doesn't really need. 2- Cassandra is sensitive! And ironically, she's the one who is more guarded (esp with her feelings) so it's not easy to tell. But those who really know her know exactly her fragile her emotions are. 3- She is possessive. What's hers is hers and girlie doesn't like to share anything. 4- She gives off left-handed energy so I will confidently say that she's left handed. 5- She is a big introvert!! She prefers keeping to herself and recharging her social battery at home as opposed to being out all the time. Despite her wild chaotic energy, Cassandra needs her quiet time to find her balance again.

Unpopular opinion:

Daniela actually has more self preservation instincts than her sisters. She's the only sister who runs into hiding when the window is open because she knows she can't fight like that. So she does the right thing (unlike her sisters who just charge in not caring that they're freezing to death) So I really think she's the more sensible one who actually thinks before acting. Cassandra: She-- How do I say this, she enjoys being part of a family? With her especially, she's never alone. Alcina is literally with her, and she talks about calling Bela and she even call out to her sisters. I think this goes back to her being more sensitive which means she's more emotional than the others and really holds her family dear. She's always talking about them and being with them. She literally was never alone during the castle section like Alcina knows which daughter constantly needs her presence and we can all see that. It's just that Cassandra is actually a huge family person but she's good at hiding so only her mom and sisters know about it.

During this time, he also prevented the timeline from collapsing in Detention.

And of course, he became our Boy with the Bread in The Hunger Games who unintentionally started a rebellion because he loved a girl and he saved thousands of people with his words.

After, he starts TRYING to save the world by playing a game in Future Man.

Then he's saving the world again in Ultraman.

I have to say I completely understand he had to take a break for a few years, because he must've been exhausted from saving the world so many times.

Anyway, he's now back! Can't wait to see him save the world's children again by stopping the serial children killer in Five Nights at Freddy's!

So I found an interesting worldgen… (Icemourn Pt. 1)

Last night I got the itch to play some Dwarf Fortress (the Steam version because I love me some pretty graphics and menus) so I loaded it up and generated a world.

Much to my surprise, one of the options for a starting civilization (a nation of origin from which my dwarves can be from) was this:

What you're looking at is a civilization of one (1). The king of this entire nation is also its only member, and he spends all his time sitting in his castle alone at the edge of the known world surrounded by ice and frozen peaks. There ain't anybody else other than my seven starting dwarves.

I thought to myself "oh this is gonna suck, there's no way I can't do this", and decided to go for it. I was gonna raise this nation out of the dirt as if my life depended on it.

I chose a spot in the frigid coniferous forests off the landmass's southern coast. No close neighbors, just me and the bears and whoever decided to pass through.

For my preparations, I loaded up on the bare essentials until I ran out of points, gave my dwarves the standard spread of jack-of-all-trades skills and took a few animals for emergency food and protection. The water buffalo are hard to take down and although they eat a lot of grass in pasture, they yield lots of useful resources if I have to Do The Deed. War dogs would take up the task of saving my hide from any potentially dangerous wildlife.

I named the fortress "Icemourn" or Ushilleshal in the dwarven tongue. I thought it appropriate, given that the land remains frozen and blanketed with snow 9 months out of the year.

My embark location was rather auspicious, sporting a wide range of towering trees and plenty of fruit during the admittedly brief surface growing season. The presence of a small river and a natural (if shallow) cliffside did not go unappreciated.

My first task was to carve out a chunk of the hill into something more useful (and aesthetically pleasing). It was there that I would set up my home base, digging out soft and heavy earth to make room for rudimentary bedrooms and the first two workshop areas. The room to the north would be my first dining room, something I planned to convert to a tavern's main floor later.

Initial setup complete, I set about securing my dwarves' safety with some log walls around the entrance. A drawbridge would block all but the biggest and meanest of hostiles from entering in times of emergency. Thankfully, trees were so plentiful in this location that I almost certainly would never run out of usable wood (though that might spell trouble if elves decide to visit later).

That done, my next task was to start carving out the uppermost workshop and stockpile rooms to ensure that my dwarves could carry out essential tasks without being forced to venture into the harsh winter. Dirt walls are ugly and unpleasant, but they get the job done. Beautification would have to come later.

The bare essentials on their way, I had time to order my dwarves to dig deeper, down about 8 z-levels (units of height, estimated to be about 2 meters) until we struck rock. To my delight, the substance proved to be shiny black obsidian. An aesthetically pleasing material, and one I could make basic weaponry out of without having to go to the effort of setting up forges. And as a bonus, fire opal gemstones! Right at my fingertips!

By this time the year's thaw had come, right on schedule in the middle of the summer. Pretty! Warm! Hospitable!

This brought to mind the fact that sooner or later, I would need a water source, so I set my dwarves to tunnel out some of the loam towards the river, forming a subterranean channel that would pipe fresh water into a cavity beneath my entrance's "courtyard". A covered well would allow the dwarves access to drinkable water year round, without concern for it freezing easily.

As autumn approached, the first traders arrived from somewhere far away. I hastily set up a trade depot for them and dumped my sole bin of wooden crafts onto the offering table. By the time the deal was done, we had procured several barrels of alcohol (and the trader had procured a nearly 60% profit, absurdly) and had lightened our load a bit. Unfortunately, our three months of sunlight was over and the snow once again began to fall as the traders packed their things and hastily left.

the velvet comforters were smooth as you lay half-dressed on the Darkling's bed. you couldn't remember a time you weren't sharing a room with him. like a lot of girls who lived and trained in Little Rock. you found the Darkling attractive, Seductively. Very VERY Seductive. and you were the Lucky one to capture his heart. being a Geisha you trained to protect and to grow your powers your powers were of Fire. the Darkling called you he's magnetifying Phoenix. Also getting that nickname because when you were attacked in the Fold. you Died and burned up in ashes. and once out of it. you raised. and the Darkling was relieved and thankful for your safety. but also couldn't help but be amazed by your abilities

Work hard, Play hard. that was your life, Motto. in the castle. The Darkling was Everything you thought you wanted. and you adored him. Until Alina showed up. the Light bringer. As a personal favor from the Darkling, you were requested to train her and over time you became friends. you heard him talk about the Light bringer and all the plans he had for her. and how she was the Key to Everything. you were slightly Jealous at first at how he talked about her. as if she was Everything he's been waiting centuries for. and how you were just a Side piece. that Jealously only grew when he started requesting More and more time apart. but you didn't blame Alina. She had no idea and honestly. without help her abilities weren't "Mind blowing" while the Darkling grew distant you became friends with her. she was Kind and completely far too innocent to realize. what sort of Honey trap she fell into. it wasn't until you saw Genya deliver a letter to the Darkling. you were On his bed playing with the tassel at the end of the bedding did you notice the writing. It was female, and it wrote "Mal" on the envelope. Genya was shy and didn't say anything as he told her to put it on the table he kissed her shoulder it was a rare time you had "Alone" time with him. since Alina arrived.

that "Alone time" used to be passionate, you would literally Break the bed with your lovemaking Now it was just. satisficing an Itch. it was still good. but your heart wasn't in it. Nor was his. Throughout the entire time, you wondered about the Letter.

when you were getting up to go to your room you slipped the letter into your pocket as you walked off.

Realizing it was from Alina. to her best friend. you felt Pity. you don't remember life outside the castle walls. you were born a town over from the castle and you arrive shortly after. Alina was very delayed in her training and she had a life. A Mal. you could feel the sadness and longing in her letter. she missed her friend. and the Darkling. for whatever reason wasn't going to let her stuff that Itch of knowing if he was alright. you would look back on Everything and try to pinpoint when you realized you would Betray your lover. and everything you know. it was that Letter. a Letter meant for someone else. Meant for a friend. you couldn't think of a single friend in the castle you would Write to if you were homesick. and that made you feel incredible. Sad.

after the letter, you kept a closer Eye on Everything. Politics and the Darkling's plans never interested you. you were just a soldier you always trusted him to lead you to the right battle So he never thought about you leaving the room when he discussed anything private. and you were his Phoenix he always wanted you by his side during battle. so it wasn't like it was secretive. you realized his plans. by pure accident. the idea of controlling Alina. who became a close friend. Horrified you. so much that you basically Dragged her out of Little Rock. telling her what the Darkling had planned and you both ran.

Somehow you ran into a Gang called the "Crow". when you first met them you wanted to instantly just cover them in fire and Run. and you did try. you fought three to one. since Alina couldn't fight. Kaz. the leader of the group. tripped you with his Cane as Alina convinced them to help. you Hated the idea of lowering your standers to ask for help from simple Gang members. but they agreed. for a high price which Alina paid with gold pins, she had in her hair from the ball you stole her from.

at first, you saw a lot of the Darkling in Kaz he was untrustworthy and demanded trust and respect from others. and was cunning and brilliant. your opinion only changed about him when you realized his complaints Jasper and Enji were completely opposite of the company the Darkling keeps. Jasper was uplifting and charming- a gambler but he was adorable and A way of light that you didn't think existed.

weeks on A Ship. shielding Alina and getting closer to Jasper and enji you weren't getting any sort of human emotions from Kaz, minus rude remarks, backhanded compliments, and the fact he didn't like a human contract. you wanted to question it. but you wore a chocker necklace given to you by the Darkling of a Phoenix. even after abandoning him and Stealing away his beloved Alina you couldn't help but grieve the life you had. so you couldn't judge. he had his secrets and you had yours.

it happened out of the blue. one day a bit of an issue accord in town and you all fought. you have to Not use your powers but just your brut strength. Kaz saved you with his Cane which he smirked grinning ear to ear. he knew it would drive you crazy for the rest of the battle you were saved by him! before you could complain another fight broke out before you all retreated. you got spilt up from the group and you and Kaz were in an old freezing basement. Winter hit early this year and you were carrying a blanket on your black in a pack. the town was being rioted and you knew you couldn't escape until dark. so you put the blanket over you as Kaz told you to put it away.

"We can’t escape unseen until nightfall and I’ll freeze to death."

he rolled his eyes holding his cane tightly. scanning the small crack in the door you both just shield up.

"Kaz.. you'll freeze.. come sit beside me. and share the blanket."

"No."

he was stubborn you give him that. he waited three hours before he came over sitting down. it was quite up top but it wouldn't be safe for hours. you wrapped the blanket around him as you spoke, "it is better if we undress. skin to skin. warms up the body faster."

you weren't sure if he got the joking tone in your voice. but he just ruffled softly to himself saying, "in your dream ." you chuckled softly as you slide closer trying to steal some body heat."

"you have a blanket in your bag.. don't you?" Kaz sighed heavily realizing he did. he took it off as you told him to take his jacket off. he did as you requested as you laid it on the floor as you laid down on it as he looked down at you stunned.

"you want to be the big spoon or the little spoon?' Kaz was annoyed the last thing he wanted was to wrap his arms around you but he hated the idea of you doing that to him so he laid down as he spoke, "this is ridiculous it’s not that cold."

"then you stand in the corner, and watch me warm up with both blankets."

he started getting down as you turned to grab his arm which stunned him as you helped him down. he laid down as he spoke, "No Jokes."

"About what?" you put the blankets over you both as you lay down. he followed suit.

"Nothing." he laid his arm over you as you lay there. he kept a good distance from you as you looked up. wishing it was anyone else but Kaz. he confused you. he made you rethink everything. "Can't you start a fire? you’re the great Phoenix.'

"I thought about that.. but the smoke doesn't have anywhere to go.." he cursed softly to himself not realizing that. as you rested your head on your arm. you both were quiet for a spell as you spoke, "Can I ask you something."

"What?" Kaz asked frankly as you turned to him as he's arm moved from your waist to your stomach now laying on your back. he was stunned that his first intent wasn't to pull away he stayed still. which surprised you as much as him.

"what's your big adventure after this one?"

"Whatever the big payout is next. what about you?" you shook your head, "I have no idea,. I had never been this far from the palace before. I never had freedom. I never even bought any clothes for myself before. I’ve never been this free."

"if you wanted. you can join Me. I could use a Geisha."

after that invite, you both got more at ease and the distance between you both disappeared as he was holding you tight as you were on your side again. now warm from the heat and blankets you asked about the gloves. he replied reaching up and grabbing your block choker. he didn't go the safe route. over your shoulder to touch it. he slides his arm up between your chest to grab it. which left you completely breathless as he asked about the chocker.

"It’s the Darkling’s color."

"how do you know that?"

"Everyone knows the stories about you two. why are you still wearing it."

you reach up touching it as you touch his hand holding the pendent. 'you aren't his anymore."

turning to look at Kaz your body felt Hot as you spoke, "why do you wear your stupid gloves?"

he pulled you into a kiss and you kissed back stunned. the kisses were completely different from the Darkling. these were passionate and unexpected. it made your entire body feel like it was on fire as he pulled back as you pulled back over kissing him. after that you both tried to hide your underlining attraction to each other. Not wanting Jasper to make jokes. or anything to be different. Kaz was still in control of the group as you spent a lot of time trying to convince Alina that everything was fine.

in the beginning, you and Kaz would both sneak away from everyone at night. to spend some time together. one night you were stuck talking to Alina and Mal. when you finally sneaked off. Kaz was right at the door about to use an awful excuse to get you. you were stunned seeing him. the Darkling Never went to your door it was always you going to him. your heart swelled up seeing him and you kissed him instantly. he smiled into it asking what was that for. "nothing.. let’s go."

that night you took off your chocker and tossed it overboard. Kaz noticed your bare neck in the morning and took all his strength not to kiss you then.

It was late as you were playing Poker with Jasper, Mal, enji, Alina, and Matt. Kav was looking forward to scanning the area. it was safe. the Crewmen typically kept to themselves as you laughed at something. kaz looked over seeing your bright smile. he was stunned Matt, Nor Mal noticed you. those Jesper noticed you were Pretty he commented on it the first day they met. and Kaz realized. Mal was completely enchanted with Alina but Matt. Matt was more of your Type.. strong. Buffer. and easy for compliments. he wasn't shielded like Kaz. but you just saw him as a friend. the only real competition for your affection would be Jesper who even those was Gay still loved teasing and flirting. but you didn't have exactly the equipment he desired. and you never looked at him like you do Kaz. with bewilderment and happiness. Kaz noticed your eyes sparkle when looking at him. other he was imagining it or you were truly happy. either way, it scared them and made him Happy.

after losing Jesper suggested making it strip poker which you bowed out, you sucked at Poker and always have. the other complained and said to just play as you said you were going to stretch your legs. as Kaz insisted on joining as you both got up above deck as you felt the cold air instantly you were getting closer to your location. as he spoke, "have you thought about you what you will do after Alina is safe?"

shaking your head you spoke, "I’ll start a new life I guess.. get enough money to live.. buy a new outfit. that isn't so stiff." he chuckled softly as you shook your head, "Mal wants to completely disappear with Alina. which is smart. but not using your gifts. It's- painful. I feel like I’m starving...I can easily use my powers and not bring attention to them. fire is common. I Don’t know how Alina will survive Not using them."

he nodded his head as he spoke, "Join me. I can teach you to pick locks. the others will be happy to have you."

"And what about you?" you asked turning to him as you walked backward as he held his cane tightly, "I Don’t want you to leave." you smiled as he closed the gap kissing you.

Neither of you noticed jesper, Enji, Alina, Matt, and Mal all sneaked up to see you. you both thought you were being so careful hiding and sneaking around. but they all noticed. Jesper whistled loudly breaking the silence as you both jolted Jesper spoke up "you better join us. I prefer a happy Kaz." you laughed as Kaz started screaming at them for spying as you called out, "run-off children.. the adults are busy!' they chuckled as you turned Kaz back to you as you smiled 'guess you’re stuck with me." he smiled brightly kissing you again..

Hopefully the Darkling wont find you

The mandalorian stood still staring at the living waters for a while before he started to remove his cloak.

Chapter 2: Take what you need and be on your way

He didn't even need to consciously reach out through the force this time in order to find Din. The moment Luke jumped inside his cockpit he could feel a sense of a déjà vu, everything was unfolding before him smoothly, it felt like a string pulling him towards Din Djarin, effortlessly.

He pressed the child against his chest staring at the N-1 starfighter grounded by the entrance of a cave system, only occupied by a R5-series astromech droid that looked suspiciously familiar. He climbed down the X-Wing carefully placing the child inside the hovering pram. He looked around and then he looked down at Grogu beside him "You know how to use this." He rested his gloved hand on the pram "Just, stay close to me." The baby cooed. "Always."

Inside the intricate multilevel destroyed capital city, once known as Sundari, the darkness engulfed them completely until Grogu turned on the hovering pram's flashlight, Luke breathed in admiring the ruins surrounding them, he walked through the destruction guided by that recognizable pull that, apparently, still connected him with the mandalorian. All of a sudden, a tall creature jumped from a rock landing on its feet before them, armed with a heavy stick with a thick end, Luke craned his neck to look at it, he narrowed his eyes, the creature's skin was gray, matching the colour of its hair and it had four eyes and tusks. The moment three other creatures joined the first one, Luke sent a message to Grogu through the force and the baby closed his pram, securing himself inside it. The darkness was surrounding Luke once again until he ignited his lightsaber, only illuminating his own face, painting it in a green shade, when two of the creatures tried to come close to him Luke outstretched his right arm wielding his saber and made a spin cutting the two of them in half. He could feel the other two large creatures approaching him, and he ducked his head to dodge the creature's attack, he frowned curling his free hand into a tight fist and when he unfurled his hand, the creature's body fell lifeless on the floor while his saber was buried deep inside the chest of the remaining creature. The light of Grogu's pram bathing him again, he extinguished his saber letting the attacker fell into the abyss surrounding them. He looked at Grogu nodding and they continued their journey.

After descending several levels they finally came to a halt, Luke touched the pram letting Grogu know that he should stay behind him, the child was clutching the edge of his pram, Luke could feel his distress through the force, they were hiding in the shadows, watching. Din was trapped inside a cage while a cyborg, that Luke could tell it was a little creature inside a spider tank, was walking around him. Luke heard a pained grunt coming from Din and he squinted to see what was that creepy creature doing to him, his eyebrows rose when he could see that it was draining Din's blood with a tubing, making his hair stand on end.

Enough.

Luke walked towards them as he heard Din gasping the moment he held his hand up and the cyborg froze, Luke scowled discovering that an organic eye was staring at him from inside the mechanic structure "So there you are." He said piercing the only organic part of the creature with his saber. When the cyborg unit shut down, Luke ran towards Din, carefully unhooking the tubing from him "Din, please, hold on." Din didn't answer. "Din?"

He opened the cage and tried to find Din's pulse pressing his digits against his neck, just like that time when he found Din on the verge of death in the Western Dune Sea many years ago, and he sighed relieved when he realized that Din passed out but his heartbeat was strong and steady.

Luke was sitting on a rock with his elbows propped on his knees, hunching forward, when he heard Din groaning as he started stirring on the ground, Grogu was standing next to his helmet pressing his little hand on the visor and Luke shook his head slightly, he frowned staring at the floor remembering Ahsoka's words "This is a mistake." Indeed, he needed to work really hard if he wanted to provide Grogu with the means to find the way to balance his feelings. He finally looked up when the mandalorian placed the kid inside his pram and he swallowed hard as Din stood in front of him, he rose to his feet staring at his visor. "You saved my life, Skywalker, I'm in your debt. Thank you." Luke pressed his lips together, widening his eyes, Din sounded so distant and polite, his reaction was so different from the last time Luke went to his aid. "How did you find me?" Din inquired, Luke's answer died in his lips when he could only pulled a face and before he could find the words Din tilted his head "Was it the force?"

Luke sighed, talking about the force with Din was hard for him since it was a stark reminder of his biggest mistake "Yes." He said quietly.

The mandalorian shifted his weight from one foot to the other "Did you find me on Tatooine using the force too?" Luke's eyes went round and he nodded, Din huffed "You shouldn't be here." He added walking away. "Take Grogu with you and leave."

Although Din had every reason to be maddened by Luke's actions in the past, and he knew Din should be mad, the Jedi couldn't help but feel desperate, he followed Din grabbing him by his upper arm, when Din stopped in his tracks, the blonde hissed, his fingers twitching around Din's biceps before he withdrew his hand "Sorry, I didn't, I didn't mean it." He said staring down.

Din turned around "Why are you even here? It's obvious that you don't care about me." He said closing the space between them.

Luke was gaping, he blinking "I do care." He whispered.

Din remained silent and then he walked towards the child "It's dangerous, take the kid with you." Grogu was staring at him with pleading eyes, his big ears lowering a little.

"He's worried about you, we're not leaving." Luke stated standing beside him.

Din sighed as his shoulders slumped, visible defeated. The child chirped.

"Bo-Katan said that the living waters are located under the civic center." Din said as Grogu was holding his forefinger in his little hand.

Who's Bo-Katan? Luke thought "Alright." He said instead "Let's go."

"I, I'm not sure where the civic center is." The mandalorian stated staring at him over his shoulder.

Luke narrowed his eyes "I feel something, it's weak, but still, I can tell that the source is powerful. It could be the living waters."

Din nodded "Take us there."

The living waters were in front of them, Luke could tell the way Din's breath was going faster. The mandalorian stood still staring at the waters for a while before he started to remove his cloak.

"Din?" The Jedi said but the man in beskar didn't pay attention to him, Luke's heartbeat sped up the moment he realized that Din was taking the pieces of his armour off. Luke's heart leapt in his chest when his former lover's fingers were dexterously loosening the straps of his chest plate. He was holding his breath while Din was removing his armour piece by piece until he finally unzipped his flight suit, he stopped when he reached his waist, exposing his upper body. Luke knew every inch of his skin, every freckle, every scar, but seeing him for the first time, really seeing him with his own eyes, even when they were in semi-darkness, was something else entirely. Luke's skin prickled with something that resembled want when the mandalorian put his hands on his helmet, finally taking it off. Luke stared astonished as his eyes roamed Din Djarin's dark curls, and his mind went back to the times he stroked that silky hair in the past, and the sheer thrill that that memory triggered had tension rapidly coiling hot in his gut. He tried to compose himself when Din looked back at them over his shoulder, standing by the shore. Luke parted his lips as his heart skipped a beat when Din's soft brown eyes met his own. You're as beautiful as the day I saw you for the first time, my love. Luke was gaping at him, not believing that he was actually seeing the love of his life's face. The love of his life. Yes. Din was gorgeous in every way, inside and out, and seeing his face, even with all that darkness surrounding him, stirred something inside Luke. Din's eyes were not only humble but also full of kindness and Luke felt lost in them, deeply, hopelessly, lost in them. Din turned his head towards the waters and Luke was taken aback by him.

Din walked down the stairs finally stepping into the water "I swear on my name. And the name of the ancestors."

Luke was listening to him with curious eyes, and a thumping heart, while Din kept walking.

"That I shall walk the way of the Mand'alor." Din said as his knees were now covered by the living waters, holding his helmet against his bare chest with one hand and playing with the water with the fingers of his free hand "And the words of the Creed shall be forever forged in my heart."

Luke could feel his heart running impossible fast, he was so proud of Din, so proud. Grogu tilted his little head, both of them expectant, until Din finally said "This is the way." And he held his helmet with both hands in front of his face, he made a pause, Luke frowned. Was Din hesitating? He blinked not able to move, still holding his breath until Din finally put his helmet back on and he sighed lowering his gaze finding Grogu's big brown eyes. Luke couldn't believe that Din gave him a gift that he was going to treasure forever, allowing him to see his face, even when it was for a brief moment.

Din walked in their direction to finally joined them, Luke's eyes roaming all over his helmet "I'm redeemed." He said making Luke's heart flutter.

"Yes, you are." He said half smiling. Din was now staring at the child, Luke walked away from them, trying not to intrude into their special moment.

He contemplated the way Din put every beskar piece on from afar, still he was watchful, ready to protect Din and Grogu. He flinched slightly when he saw Din hunching down by the shore, he could realize that he was filling a small flask with water. Realization hit him, it was obvious that Din needed to prove he bathed in the living waters to someone. But who was this person?

They walked in silence until they reached the point where they needed to go up, Din looked at Luke tilting his helmet "How did you manage to reach this level?"

"Grogu can pilot his pram." Luke said staring at his visor, Din hummed.

"And what about you?" He insisted.

Luke clicked his tongue "I climbed down." He clenched his left hand wondering if Din could notice the scratches all over his skin, he shook his head realizing that he couldn't have seen them in that darkness. "You two go first, it's gonna take a while, just-" He shrugged "Please, just wait for me up there."

The mandalorian looked at the child and then he looked at Luke again "No way." He said under his breath closing the space between Luke and him, he encircled the blonde's waist with one arm, Luke froze staring at his visor. "Is this okay?" He asked sheepishly as their bodies were pressed flush against each other, from thighs to chest and Luke couldn't help but feel a familiar tingling warmth in the pit of his stomach as his heart was pounding against his ribs.

"Yes." He said not breaking eye contact with Din. He squeezed his eyes shut when he heard the jetpack's turbines burst and his stomach flipped when he didn't feel the ground under his feet anymore, he opened his eyes as the wind started messing with his hair, dirty blonde locks brushing against his eyelashes, he blinked staring up. He felt Din's fingers twitching against his ribs, then he was digging them into Luke's flesh making him look at Din again, he was boring into his visor, relishing in the way the man in beskar was staring at him behind his helmet, so painfully close.

They landed on the high level smoothly, Din withdrew his arm from Luke leaving the Jedi missing his warmth, a cold wave invading him as he tried to ignore the way Din was making him feel, so vulnerable but at the same time so shamelessly eager to press his face against Din's chest and stay there for hours.

Wake up, Luke. He said to himself when they were approaching their ships, Din stood in front of him "I need to visit my people, please be safe." He tilted his head towards Grogu. "And, thank you, Luke." Luke shrugged giving him a smile. "I'll see you soon, kid." Din said holding Grogu's hand.

They left Mandalore a minute later, Luke stared at Din's N-1 starfighter until it hit hyperspace, he frowned thinking that this was wrong. Feeling the way he was feeling was not only wrong but also selfish, he realized that he wanted Din with every fiber of his being, still he was conscious that he didn't deserve him.

I will never be worthy of his trust again.

Din came back to the Temple after a month, Luke noticed that he was changed. A little. He seemed more relaxed than the last time they met, showing a light-hearted mood. By the second night he stayed with them, Grogu was sleeping peacefully in his pram next to Din. They were sitting around a bonfire, Luke was lying on the grass propping himself up on his elbow, Din came closer to him, sitting down with his legs crossed "Thank you for letting me be here, Luke."

The Jedi looked up at him finally sitting up, mirroring Din "I'm glad you're here." He breathed out, feeling completely relaxed next to him.

"And how is it?" He leaned a hand on the grass, close to Luke's leg "To be a Jedi."

Luke looked up at the night sky "It's a lonely journey." He stayed quiet for a while.

They spent hours talking about the years they were apart, Luke told him about the force, his masters, and even about his father and how he learned Leia was, indeed, his twin sister. He didn't hide any detail from Din, even the painful ones, he blinked back tears more than once and he could feel Din's hand rubbing little circles on his own.

"I wish I could have been there for you." Din said while Luke was holding his breath staring at the stars.

He looked at Din incredulous "Please, Din." He pleaded. Again, guilty was destroying him. How could Din be so humble and pure at heart when Luke himself was the reason why Din couldn't be there with him?

Din withdrew his hand staring down "You're so powerful now." He said and Luke narrowed his eyes understanding that Din was trying to change his mood. "I can't even describe it, you're the most powerful warrior I've ever seen in my life."

That took Luke's breath away. That statement coming from a mandalorian was an honour and made his head spin a little. "Thank you, Din." He managed to say even when his breath was coming out uneven.

"It's a good thing, huh?" He asked "I mean, you don't need a mandalorian around you to scare stalkers away anymore." Din added and Luke's heart gave an extra beat.

Luke thought that maybe this was Din trying to know if he was seeing someone, or maybe he was reading too much into his words. No, actually, he was so desperate for Din to show him affection that he was imagining things.

He chuckled "Yeah, still, since I'm a Jedi no one is trying to make a move on me anymore." He said trying to belittle the subject.

Din tilted his helmet snorting "Yeah, right." He deadpanned.

"I'm serious, people tend to avoid me, I think they feel intimidated by me." He laughed and he was being really honest.

"Get out, Skywalker." He chuckled elbowing Luke "I still remember your squad mates drooling all over you." Din said making Luke think back to their time together and he smiled tenderly, absentmindedly glaring at him. "I hate them." Din added and he sounded serious.

Luke winced "They're all gone, now." He said avoiding Din's gaze.

"I still hate them." Din insisted earning him a chuckle from Luke.

Luke nodded "At least a good thing came out of that." He looked at Din sideways and then pressed his lips together as he was running his hand over the grass, staring down.

Din went silent. When Luke looked at him again he was staring at him, his visor fixed on his face "I didn't know what to expect every time I went to visit you."

"What do you mean?" Luke leaned in closer to him.

"You were too special, I didn't know why a guy like you could be interested in being with a guy like me." Din explained staring down as Luke was astonished now "I always thought that one day, eventually, finally, you would blow me off."

Luke's heart broke into pieces.

"What?" His body was tense all of a sudden and his heart was in his throat.

"And it happened."

Fuck. No. Not this.

Luke put a hand atop Din's thigh and the mandalorian looked at it not able to face the Jedi.

"It didn't, it didn't happen Din." He was feeling a wave of cold sweat spreading down from the nape of his neck to his lower back "I-"

Din met his eyes, shrugging "It's okay."

"No, it's not. I didn't want to let you go, I was trying to protect you." He shook his head "I thought, maybe, well, I knew that you didn't feel the same-"

"The same?" Din cut him off.

"You didn't want to label our relationship so it remained casual that way, and I gladly accepted that. Because it was better than not having you at all." He said under his breath. "Maybe I wanted something more, but I couldn't drag you into my crusade and put a target on the back of your head."

Din groaned "I know what you mean." He shifted a little "And about labels, Luke? I always knew that you were my cyare." Hearing Din saying that pet name again made Luke shiver as warmth began pooling in his belly, those words coming from Din felt like honey on his tongue, soft and sweet, intoxicating him. His lips tingling at the memory that that word prompted, the taste of Din's skin on them, the kisses they shared, the pleasant weight of Din's body against his own. He couldn't even believe it.

Then he realized that he couldn't understand what Din was talking about "What-what is a cyare?" He asked as he felt his cheeks slowly blossoming with a red shade.

Din tilted his helmet and Luke tried to ignore how adorable the man looked every time he did that "You mean you don't know?" Luke shook his head keeping his gaze "What about mesh'la and cyar'ika?" Luke sighed devastated.

Please, stop saying those words. Although Luke didn't know their meaning, every one of them were pulling him back to the memory of Din's arms around him, while he was whispering sweet nothings in his ear after loving him on their blankets in the safety of the Razor Crest, Din's mouth pressing open-mouthed kisses all over him, leaving love marks behind them as Luke was falling apart behind his black blindfold.

"I don't know." He swallowed through the lump in his throat.

Din stared at him for a while and then he rolled one shoulder "Alright." Luke stared at him expectant "Mesh'la means beautiful." The blonde's mouth curved into a smile "Cyar'ika, means sweetheart." He said and Luke's smile slipped "And cyare-" Din cleared his throat "Cyare means beloved." He looked down as Luke's eyes were fixed on him.

"Din." He said almost whispering "Din." He tried to seize his hand but he wasn't sure, not believing what he was hearing, Din was telling him that he was his beloved. And he spoiled everything by being an insecure man.

"I'm sorry Luke, It's getting late and I think, I should-" He gave Grogu a quick glance over his shoulder "Can I take him to his bed?"

Luke pressed his lips together frowning "Yes, sure. Sure. It's late, you're right." It was late, in every sense of the word. Late. It was too late.

Luke kept tossing and turning that night, his mind going back to Din's words "I always knew that you were my cyare." Then he thought about Din telling him that he always expected Luke breaking up with him and his stomach clenched.

"I loved you too, Din." He whispered resting his hand on his stomach "I loved you too."

Next morning Luke found it hard to look at Din directly, he realized he was conflicted, overwhelmed by mixed emotions. The mandalorian stood beside him while Grogu was resting after a training session.

"I need to go to Nevarro, Greef Karga needs help." Din said and Luke stared at his visor. "He's a friend. I need to go now."

Luke nodded "You're going to need a hand." He moved to face Din.

"No, it's okay, I'm taking my people to Nevarro."

Luke couldn't help but remember the first time he went to Nevarro, when he was a naive young man going to an unknown planet to meet Din. Their first date. He smiled fondly.

"I'm coming back soon." The mandalorian said looking at his face, Luke nodded again as his eyes traveled down, he was staring at Din's chest plate now.

"Take care of yourself, Din." He met his visor one last time.

Din was absent for almost a month, and since he came back, Luke started to feel more and more comfortable around him. One night he was inside his room, he let Din with Grogu in the child's bedroom. Lost in thought, he didn't close the door and he peeled off his robes, tossing them aside, he walked around, unclipping his saber and leaving it on the bedside table, he brushed his fingers through his hair and turned around, he froze when he saw Din standing by the door, suddenly conscious of the state he was in, half naked, only wearing his pants and with tousled hair. He swallowed hard pressing his lips together but he didn't cover himself, almost enjoying the way Din's visor was fixed on him.

The mandalorian didn't make a sound as Luke finally put his robe back on walking towards him "Yes, Din?" He tilted his head delicately adjusting the lapels of his rob, a sliver of his soft skin was still on display and Din's visor shifted slightly from his face to his chest and back to his face again.

"I just wanted to say good night."

Luke could feel his skin reacting to the sound of his voice, so mesmerizing, soft and deep. He had to gather every bit of strength in him not to ask Din to stay for a little while, and he could sense Din's reluctance to leave as well, certain that he was feeling the same way.

Sometimes he would catch Din staring at him, some other times he was the one at the other end. And whenever he accidentally touched Din he could feel his skin prickling and his heartbeat going faster.

A bad idea.

He closed the door behind him, leaving his room after talking with Leia via holocom, he knew what to do, and the fact that Din was still on planet was pretty convenient. He walked into the dinner room, Din was sitting at the table, forearms rested on it, he looked up at him, Luke bowed his head and sat down beside him, he blinked staring at his visor.

"I hope you don't mind, I was waiting for you before going to bed."

Luke nodded in silence "It was Leia. I need to ask you something." Din tilted his head, attentive to what he was saying. "I'm leaving tonight." Din shifted in his chair. "The New Republic never said a word about it but someone close to us found out that the ship that was transporting Gideon was attacked, and we're sure that he has escaped." Luke tried to assess Din's reaction, he used to be pretty good at reading Din's moods but years of being apart have taken their toll on that ability, he realized he was rusty since he couldn't figure out what was going inside the man's mind. "I need you to stay here with Grogu, or maybe you should take him with you, I'm tracking Gideon down, I don't know how long it will take."

He could hear Din taking in a sharp inhale as he leaned back in the chair, forearms still on the table "You don't need to."

Luke frowned, his lips twisting almost letting out a weak what? when Din talked again.

"I already tracked him down. You're not gonna hear about him again." He made a pause "I killed him." He added staring at Luke's blue eyes.

The Jedi widened his eyes, perplexed, his lips parting, he was not expecting Din to be a step ahead on this matter. It didn't happen often, but he left him speechless.

"I killed him on Lanz Carpo." He shrugged one arm staring down "Are you disappointed?" He asked giving Luke a quick glance.

Luke opened his mouth and closed it again, he shook his head slowly "No. I was planning to do it myself." He heard Din sighing deeply.

"Wasn't the first time I killed to protect a loved one." Din said tightening his hands into fists over the table, Luke put a hand over Din's gently, making him look at him again.

"I'm proud of you." Luke said staring at him and his eyes carried a mixture of respect and softness. "How did you know about it?" He lifted his shoulder in a half shrug.

"My friend Cara contacted me two weeks ago, some blue man told her about it, I think she knew what she was doing by telling me about it." He huffed.

"Can't believe The New Republic doesn't care." Luke said absorbed in thought, completely oblivious of his surroundings until he felt something warm against his arm, he looked down only to find Din's free hand caressing his forearm through the fabric of his robe as he was still holding his other hand, he looked up meeting Din's visor "Then I'm not going anywhere." His words eliciting a soft chuckle from Din.

"Yeah, I figured that out."

The Jedi burst into laughter, curling his hand around Din's, they went silent for a moment and Luke knew, he knew that Din was feeling the same, and if Din has forgiven him, he hasn't forgiven himself.

"There you are, Luke." Din said under his breath, Luke blinked staring at him. "I missed your laugh."

Luke turned his head away, withdrawing his hand from Din, he cleared his throat. This life, the Jedi's life, wilted his soul, he knew it, but he was starting to wonder if the reason behind that dryness was, actually, the loss of Din's love, a consequence of embracing his destiny, and his stomach churned at the mere thought.

Walking away from Din that night felt wrong, still he did it, even against his own desire. When he closed the bedroom's door and leaned his back against it, he pinched the bridge of his nose, screwing his eyes shut. Maybe he was still in love with Din. Maybe he has always been in love with him.

He was staring at Grogu training by the creek, the little force-user was jumping from rock to rock dodging the blasts coming from a training remote drone successfully. Din joined him, Luke looked at him giving him a smile.

"What is that thing?" The mandalorian asked him.

"It's a Marksman-H training remote. Don't worry, it's harmless." He explained, knowing Din, he was definitely thinking that a flying killing ball was trying to obliterate Grogu.

When the training session finished, the child was lying exhausted over a big rock. Luke frowned, hands folded behind his body "I still can't believe that my father is responsible for all of this. The Jedi purge. All this suffering, Grogu's suffering." He made a pause staring at the child, still he was pretty aware of the way Din was pointedly staring at him "And I inflicted him more pain by not telling you I was force-sensitive." He shrugged "I'm a Skywalker after all." He whispered the last part, broken-hearted.

The mandalorian leaned closer "I don't know what that means."

Luke let out a harsh breath "That everything we touch, we break it." He said in a low-pitched voice.

"I don't believe that." Din retorted clutching his forearm.

Luke looked down at his hand on him and then he looked up to meet his visor "I hate myself because I didn't trust you enough. I failed you. You were everything I ever wanted and I didn't tell you about the major part of me, that the force was strong with me. Should I have taken all the time in the world to explain you about it? Yes." He looked at Grogu again "Although I didn't know anything about the force when I first met you, that's not an excuse, Din. Do you know why?" He bored into his visor "Because I didn't tell you that I was staying on Dagobah to train in the ways of the force, and you were so merciful that you didn't even push me, you accepted my silence and left. I didn't deserve you. I know that now." He choked with emotion as his eyes welled up, he looked away trying to hide his tears.

"I've done my part too, Luke." Din's words making him look at him again, as he was wiping tears from his cheeks. "I was hiding many things from you too. I understand, sometimes you need to protect yourself and the ones that you look after. I never told you about my covert's location, never took you there because it was forbidden, never told you that I loved you, even when I was dying to hear you saying that you loved me back."

"What?" Luke froze as his heart skipped a beat and his chest rose and fell with rapid breaths.

"Stop being harsh on yourself, you can't change the past, but you were there when we needed you the most, that's all that matters."

Luke flinched a little when he felt Din's gloved hand on his cheek, so warm and tender against his skin, he closed his eyes reveling in Din's spontaneous outpouring of affection, he leaned into his touch drawing his hand up to place it over Din's, as he started to stroke his cheek "You were there, cyar'ika. And I'm here now."

Luke couldn't hold the tears back anymore, Din brushed his fingers across his forehead before wrapping his arms around Luke's body, holding him tight and Luke hid his face in the crook of his neck, as many times before, as many cicles ago, he hooked his arms around Din's "I'm sorry." His muffled voice giving his sorrow away.

Din kept holding him until the last tears rolled down his cheeks as the sun was setting down kissing the creek.

devil may cry netflix show!?

hi everyone. welcome to my in-depth analysis of the upcoming devil may cry netflix anime. yesterday was the first time we got a look at what to expect visually. it was very short, but there's a lot to talk about. long, image heavy post ahead.

what's old?

firstly, let's briefly go over what we had known about the show before the trailer was shown. it's featuring dante (of course), and lady and vergil were confirmed to also make an appearance. so i had assumed it was a dmc3 adaptation, since it was unlikely to be post-dmc5. the first season would be 8 episodes long, with more seasons to come. the producer and co-writer is adi shankar, and is working with the producer for the original dmc and 2007 anime, hiroyuki kobayashi. (1)

here's a selection of quotes from some interviews with shankar, previously known for work on netflix's yasuke and other shows (something called "castle" "vania"). apparently he's working on a PUBG show too. okay.

"I've acquired these rights myself, so that the jabronies in Hollywood can't fuck this one up too." (2)

"Again, this was developed by a DMC fan for DMC fans, that was the ethos of this project. Production should start at the beginning of next year." (3)

"I feel like I can meaningfully contribute to the lore of the series. Devil May Cry has unique iconography and emotionally engaging lore." (4)

"The characters in DMC have an operatic depth and they experience growth across the series so it’s fun to – in a Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3 kind of way – play with and explore that depth through the lens of psychological realism and dissect the trauma buried below the surface of that depth." (4)

"Devil May Cry.. will join Castlevania in what we're now calling the 'bootleg multiverse'. Let the speculation begin." (6) (i forgot he said this i'm so scared)

"You're a Vergil fan? Are you also a Thanos fan?" (6)

what's new?

with that awesome start out of the way, let's get into the new stuff. with no release date other than "soon", we know it's being animated by studio mir, a studio based in south korea ("anime" feels like a misnomer now but i won't get into that) and previously worked on legend of korra, voltron legendary defender, and star wars visions vol 2, to name a few.

hideaki itsuno, director of the dmc series since dmc2, tweeted that he was "supervising it properly!" (7)

there was also a promo for the netflix stream that showed ebony & ivory.. from the DmC reboot. which hopefully was a mistake. and that the reboot has nothing to do with the show.

here's the tagline for the show: "In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck." aww, dante.

alright, now let's get into the trailer analysis..!! LET'S ROCK!!!!

dante..?

here's everyone's favorite devil hunter- wait. where is he? who is this? checks notes um. well. i guess this is supposed to be dante. white hair, red coat, twin pistols, confident smirk.. it has the key points of dante, but something is off OH GOD IS HE WEARING A SHIRT? (and suspenders??)

1. his shirt? now, in all other iterations of dante he wears a shirt yes. but fans of the series would know in dante's look in devil may cry 3, he very much doesn't wear a shirt. that iconic red jacket is the only thing standing between him and catching a cold in cerberus' icy chambers. not having a shirt tells a lot about dante as a 19 year old living on his own. who's got time for shirts? he just took a shower and a demon crashed into his office. he's only got time to put on his coat in a very cool and dramatic manner. but that's not the only thing different from his dmc3 design.

2. his hair. dmc3 dante's hair is nearing shoulder length, and is pretty flat. his bangs have a tendency to cover his eyes, but in the original game (not hd collection, which fucked with the textures), there was a bit of transparency. (8) of course i would not expect the same level of detail in animation regarding the hair, so some liberties must be taken. going forward acknowledging that when i further discuss his design, netflix dante's hair is totally different when it didn't have to be. his hair is much shorter, and kinda flares up in the back. it's more like lady's hair in that regard. his bangs are also totally different. with the middle part, it looks like much inspiration was taken from dmc5 dante's hair.

3. his coat. or whatever his shoulder pads that connect to the back of his coat (to hold his sword and pistols) are different. personally i feel they take up too much real estate on his coat's striking red. the shoulder straps are there for dmc3, but the back part of it looks inspired by dmc5 (minus the skull, sadly).

4. his amulet. if nothing else, this is what confirms it's an adaptation of dmc3 for me, since we haven't seen the amulet since dmc3, and chronologically, since dmc1. it went into the sparda, after all. i'm actually very happy it's visible on his neck, since in the game, it's only visible when he's coat-less (at the beginning of the game), or when it's relevant. otherwise it's tucked away. so here's the slightly concerning news. the amulet doesn't look like how it appeared in dmc1/3. in fact, it bears a closer resemblance to the reboot, with the brown string and lack of silver encasing. scary! that's scary!

5. his guns..? these don't look like ebony and ivory, seeing as they're the same color. but honestly that's intriguing to me. it's possible the show could cover what the pre dmc3 novel covers—how dante got his iconic twin pistols, and lost a friend in the process (nico's grandma, nell goldstein the gunsmith), which i would actually love to see how that would be done.

6. his sword (OR LACK THEREOF) WHERE IS REBELLION?! maybe he stuck it in a beast. it literally took me this long to realize it's not there. feels intentionally omitted. what happened to it..

7. his voice. he has a different voice actor. which is awesome because reuben langdon sucks shit as a person.

now, there is nothing wrong with a redesign! but i can't help but be disappointed. the art style is not my favorite so far concerning his ..face.. but i think his hair was truly the biggest loss, especially when dmc3 dante is my favorite. it just doesn't look like dante to me. it's always possible he'll change over the course of the show (lose the shirt and suspenders for one).. maybe he gets a haircut.. one can hope. and those pants man. lose the gray pants. dark brown looks better.

miscellaneous musings

the last section of this analysis is on all other visual elements besides dante's design. you might want to turn your brightness up for this part.

here's a shot of some industrial looking area—looks like cement floors, some crates and metal shelves. there's a table? a bench?? and a support pillar, which makes me think it's in some kind of warehouse, lit up with moonlight from windows. also dante disappears for a moment, only to reappear a moment later, which i want to believe is him using air trick. one can believe.

the first picture looks like a tail or something slamming into the wall, which dante was jumping to avoid in the shot. for the second and third pictures, something with a bat wing like appendage swings at dante, and it becomes veiny and much like a blade. there are no dmc3, much less any dmc enemies that this could belong to. i would place my bets on it being a new demon designed for the show, unless they are drawing from some other media (novels, 2007 anime) that i'm less familiar with the demons of. it could look cool, i'm always down to look at new demon designs.

and that's pretty much it! i hope you enjoyed reading this. i will be watching it when it comes out and will definitely have thoughts and strong opinions on it, and probably will more informally discuss any other promotional materials they may share.
