Help me find this Castle Fanfic

I'm rereading One of Us, and another fanfic's plot jumped into my brain. In the fic I'm looking for, Rick and Kate are married and have kids. Rick buys the apartment next door & remodels it to connect to the loft's upper floor & provide a gym area for him & Kate. The lower floor of that apartment is turned into a separate apartment for Martha. There's also a trip to Europe for a book tour. Anyone know what story this is? It might be a series of stories. (I hate getting old and not being able to remember stuff)

I did this because I wanted to use this image for a Caskett graphic I was making for @castleficpromoter, and I needed to get rid of the pesky text. And after I finished, I figured I'd share it with all my fellow Castle/Caskett fans, so posting here in case any Caskett fans would like it.

Looking for an “M” rated Castle fic with an author’s note about the quality of Castle’s shirts making it unrealistic for Beckett to rip them open as often as she does. It might have taken place in the Hamptons and could involve escaping from the rain and a quickie against the wall. Any thoughts?

Okay Tumblr friends, I'm looking for a Castle fic. I can remember a very specific scene where Kate (I think) has a dream about a little girl with curly hair and eyes like her daddy. The little girl and Castle are playing on the beach and that scene becomes the epilogue of the story. I know it's a multi-chapter and might be a shooting recovery fic, but that's all I've got. Can anyone help me out?

Helps! I'm looking for a Castle fic that I read a while ago, and I remember bits and pieces but I can’t forking find it again! (Maybe I imagined it?) So uh, it’s AU and Castle’s got Kate’s mom’s number after she died and Kate texts it every so often and then she stops. He gets worried because she hasn’t texted in a while and thinks something happened to her and calls her… so uh, yeah…. Does this ring a bell for anyone?? Thank you in advance!

I just checked it out. It's fantastic! I kinda wish for an entire AU before loksat and the disappearance but hell, I'll take a fix-it for the ending we do have and see how it could be resolved. Cheers for the tip!

Fandoms: The X-Files (1994-2001); Castle (since I wrote a tumblr thing just this year, I guess that’s still current)

Tropes: My favorite thing to do with a trope is twist it up and make it work in a way you don’t see coming. So I wrote a bunch of stuff to see if I could do it: character has amnesia, first date interrupted by a murder, classic bad guys return, stuck in an elevator, etc.

Number of fics: jeez, Idk, let me go find out. 300 as RocketMan, 273 as chez on ffnet 

Fic I spent the most time on: uh... I can’t think of... I guess the Spy Castle series? Because that has morphed into a thousand different kinds of things.

Fic I spent the least time on: three words prompts on tumblr usually took about three to five minutes (and shoutout to @castleficpromoter for collecting those in one place)

Longest Fic: ung let me check. it says Dash It All at 268,088 words.

Shortest Fic: the Next Moment at 490 words. (But these tumblr prompts would be shorter).

Most hits/kudos/comment threads/bookmarks: 100 Days of Summer, cowritten with Sandiane Carter. :D

Favorite fic I wrote: I think Advent is my favorite, though it’s tied with Dash. Those two created whole worlds not just for me but for the people who replied to me about them. Advent was a chapter a day during the Christmas season, back before that was a thing, and it had an associated playlist. The challenge of writing/posting every day was fun for me. With Dash, that was my first attempt to write 100 chapters in one story, just to see if it could be done. And then I did it three more times in that series.

Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: Yeah no. None of them. I can’t go back. I did rewrite Dash, the first 100 chapter one, in an attempt to create an original work, which I put up on Amazon. That was a BEAST and I will never do that again. So hard. Lol.

“Yeah,” he answered. Let the breath fill his lungs again and release, giving space for her next answer, space for her to be.

He never waited. He always filled the silence, like it was necessary to have words, sounds, noise. He never seemed able to wait.

If he waited long enough, she would answer.

Her fingers twitched in his. “I feel your heart beating.”

He pressed his thumb to her wrist’s pulse point, reinforcing the thump.

She was doing the breathing; he could feel her chest rise and fall in the deep breaths he’d taught her.

Maybe she was right; maybe this wasn’t much more than the meditation training Dr King kept trying to get her to do. Maybe the things he’d been taught were akin to therapy, but twisted, as his father had twisted everything.

“I feel… like crying,” she whispered.

CastleFicPromoter’s Castle Ficathon 2024

Greetings!

This “contest” isn’t a competition against others, merely a fun way for the Castle fandom and its talented fanfiction writers to generation some awesome stories over the summer season.

Participating stories should be posted on Fanfiction.net (or Archive of Our Own). Stories posted on FFnet will be included in the “favorites” list on the CFPromoter FFnet account. Links will also be tweeted through CFPromoter’s twitter account and blogged/reblogged on tumblr.

Word Count Goals:

Mini-Ficathon – 25,000 words

Ficathon – 50,000 words

Maxi-Ficathon – 75,000 words

Ultra-Ficathon – 100,000 words

Submissions will be accepted starting Monday, May 6, 2024 and ending at midnight on Friday, September 6, 2024. You can start writing at any time, but only fanfics posted within the timeframe will be accepted as part of the Summer Ficathon challenge.

Anyone can join, experienced and new fanfiction writers alike. Everyone is welcomed. The main point is to have fun!

Stories are to be posted on your own FFnet account, but should have “Castle Ficathon 2024” somewhere in the summary, so that readers know the story is a participant. Stories posted on AO3 are also acceptable this year and, just as with stories posted on FFnet, should have “Castle Ficathon 2024” somewhere in the summary. (sidenote: If you are posting your ficathon story only on AO3, let me know, otherwise I might miss it - Thanks!)

If you post a link to the story on Twitter, feel free to tag @CFPromoter in your tweet, so I’m aware your story is posted. I’ll be using the hashtag “CastleFicathon2024” and “CF2024” on Twitter (and tumblr) when I do tweet promotions.

Every participant will receive an individualized digital badge of participation at the end of the challenge. Participants will receive an additional badge for the word count level achieved at the end of Ficathon. Those who break 75k will also receive a personalized wallpaper based off the Castle Ficathon 2024 key art.

Remember the manip you're talking about. It was on tumblr but the account is now gone. There is a fanfic on AO3 that was inspired by it. Espo and Ryan call Beckett and she doesn't realise she hasn't hung up the phone.

Yes, I've read that! There's also one where Lanie's on the other end of the call, but I can't remember if it's inspired by the pics or not. Those are some good fics.

OMG! Just saw the car picture. Hope everyone is okay.

Thanks! Everyone’s okay in mi casa, thankfully none of us were parked there (though I feel bad for the person whose car was directly under the branches). It happened a street over from my house and the tree managed to fall right onto the important parts of the power lines/pole, knocking out the power for the entire block and yanking some of the wires down to almost ground level (we were actually told to go back home when we were exploring because the cops weren’t sure if the wires were live or not). I went to bed before power was restored, but apparently they managed to get it back up at 4-something this morning.

Kudos to the crew who worked all night for us.
