From Wednesday onwards, it was crazy. She had never worked so fast nor so busy. Her work back at home she was a full-time sales assistant in a lingerie store, and it wasn't as busy like how she worked here.

To be honest, she wasn't sure if she was cut out for this type of stressful work. She was exhausted by the afternoon, and she hadn't been able to meet with Cillian much as filming became more intense and scenes had to be adjusted or changed.

Lunchtime began to be whenever you had the chance to stop and eat, so she had alway's prepared herself the morning coming in. Though Logan managed to catch her during her breaks and they hung out a lot, even after when the day was over she had invited him into her apartment and started on watching Supernatural.

It was quite nice, being with Logan. They watched well into the night, and both had fallen asleep on the couch with empty bowls from the chips or popcorn she had made for them. Gabrijela felt comfortable around the man, and they didn't shy away from talking about their desires and their life achievements.

They both had the same issues of trying to impress their strict as hell parents and their decisions on what to do with their life would be a forever damnation, according to Logan's mother and father.

She giggled at that, and he as well.

Came Friday evening, Gabrijela was allowed to go home early. But she wanted to find Cillian before she left to see how he was going.

He was walking off set and she caught his arm gently, "Hi!" She smiled.

"Hey, Gab. Long-time no sees," They moved out of the way.

"Indeed." She laughed softly, "I wanted to see how you were going." She asked.

"Good! Good, never better. But a tad little tired but I'm used to this." He said, pulling off his cap and tucking it into his coat's pocket.

Another reason why she hadn't seen him much was that they had moved to another city at some point during the week, and then it wasn't any time to talk to him.

"I see. But you're doing a fantastic job, Cillian." She nodded, eyes shining with admiration.

"Thank you. You seem like you are going somewhere?" He asked noticing the bag. Cillian had also felt sad he hadn't been able to catch up with her much nor see her, her presence always made him feel good and happy.

"Yeah. Allison let me off early today, said I deserved a bit of an early mark." She giggled. "I wanted to tell you that in case you got worried if I wasn't around later."

"Oh thank you for telling me that. Appreciate it." He also appreciated her kindness and her genuine self. She had always brought him coffee in the morning, or his favourite sandwich for later in the day. It was the little things she did for him that made him like her even more.

"But call me later, okay?" She gripped his gloved hand.

"Always. Hey, before you go, did you want to go to dinner tomorrow maybe? Or we could go to a gig or..." He offered as he trailed off.

She pouted, "I'd love to but I'm going to Logan's birthday tomorrow night. How about Sunday?" She asked.

"Party? Huh, okay. Yeah, we can do Sunday then. I'll call you tomorrow again for the details." He said, "Where are you going for the party?"

"Uh, it's somewhere near Trafalgar Square it seems. I forgot the exact place." She shrugged.

"You be safe, hm? Don't want you getting into any trouble." He pulled her into a hug and she wrapped her arms around him.

He was so warm and smelled so fucking good. She couldn't help but bury her face into his neck a little. "I will, I promise." She murmured, he squeezed her gently.

They pulled away and she kissed his cheek lightly and turned to walk away.

Cillian placed a hand on his cheek, his smile growing. This girl was rubbing off on him and he couldn't help but become worried about her. He remembered what happened last time he took her out and he wasn't to close with the Logan boy she talked about. Or did he know about his circle.

But Cillian couldn't fret over her too much or it would seem like he was overpowering her. But he would keep an eye out on her.

Cillian headed off to get ready for the next scene.

Saturday Night...

Gabrijela had her hair in a high ponytail. Her chosen outfit for tonight was a black mini skirt with a black long sleeve mesh top with golden stars. She had a simple bra for it.

She was putting make-up on when her phone rang, she pressed the answer button without looking, "Hello?"

"Hey Gabrijela," Cillian replied.

"Oh hi, Cilly." She felt her heart jump. It always did when she talked to him.

"How are you?" He asked it sounded like he was driving somewhere.

"I'm alright. Getting ready." She said as she applied her eyeliner on.

"Oh that's right, you're going out tonight." He mused. "Excited?"

"I guess so. It's not my first time clubbing, but a first in London." She smiled as she concentrated on putting on her fake eyelashes.

"You sure you don't want me to come?" He kidded.

She let out a heavy sigh, "Cillian, I'm gonna punch you when I see you next."

"Joking! God, don't get so antsy." He mocked, but she could hear the smile in his voice.

"It's up to you if you want to come, it doesn't bother me. But I don't know about Logan." She said casually. She kinda hoped he would come.

"Nah. I'm gonna have a night into myself, have some red wine, listen to music and have some cheese." He said with relief. "Been a long week."

"It has. And you deserve it. Besides, we'll have tomorrow together. I can't wait to see Bath." She said with clear enthusiasm.

"Good. It's a beautiful town." He said, "You'll definitely love it."

She saw a message said that Logan was walking down, "Hey I gotta go. I have to get dressed." She said as she added finishing touches to her face.

"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow, have fun." He said and hung up.

Gabrijela changed into her outfit, sprayed on her favourite Tommy Girl perfume and pulled up her thigh high heeled boots.

She grabbed her jacket and her sparkly bag and headed down when Logan called her he was here.

Logan was dressed in a casual but nice outfit, black jeans and a tucked-in blue with a mixture of a green, red and white floral patterned shirt. His black hair was combed back and curled at the nape of his neck.

He whistled when he saw Gabrijela, "Wow." He said as they embraced, "You are so fucking gorgeous."

She laughed, "Thanks man, you look dashing as well." She nodded as she checked him out as he did a little turn with wide arms.

"One sexy Scottish boy on the menu. Ready to mingle." He flashed a perfect smile.

She blushed and he called an Uber, a couple of minutes later they piled in and off they went to the club.

The club was underground and the music was electric, pumping a hard beat. People danced, some grinding against each other no matter who it was.

Just like home, she thought with a slight shake of her head. She was used to this type of things, as the majority of the young people in clubs, they're looking for a quick fuck.

Tonight was good, she agreed, no one seemed to brush up against her or pester her. Everyone was in their own world and in their own groups, having the time of their life.

More drinks, shots, anything.

Then it was time to move on, the rules here were not as strict as in Australia so by midnight they had gone to four different pubs. Gabrijela had taken easy on the drinks but she could feel the alcohol messing with her head a little.

Logan had watched her all night and wouldn't leave her side. In their last pub of the night, they were all over each other. Their lips in a heated lock of tongue and teeth.

Cillian had been in the same club with a few of his mates, drinking and chatting about home. He had seen Gabrijela enter with the group, and had to watch her suck face with the damn Set Designer. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealously wash through him. He thought back to when he had his fingers inside her, the way her lips felt on his and the sounds he managed to drag out.

Now Logan would have to hear those very sounds, and Cillian did not like that.

But what could he do about it? He wasn't going to go there and break them up, for what? Because he was annoyed that Gabrijela may end up in bed with the boy and not him?

Explaining the 4 Legs of Revenue

I’ve been thinking about strategic planning and I may have mentioned that last week, but this week I want to take you towards my area of expertise: business growth and revenue.

For a long time, I was unable to create a simple enough framework to build up the idea of a process for revenue that applied to small businesses and large, non-profits and other types of firms, but I think I have a 4 pronged focus that any business can use to rethink their revenue strategy.

Like most things, this is the basics and there are layers within this, but here itis, 4 steps:

1. You come up with a product or service of value that you can offer your market. 2. You identify your customers. 3. You market to them. 4. You close the sale.

Obviously, there is a ton of complexity that fits into each of those areas, but I want to kick start the back of the year by hitting a few keynotes on the basic ideas that support each of these concepts.

Start with value:

This is simple, but in too many cases we forget that the value we provide our customers is essential to them buying from us.

Let’s look at me: I help businesses grow, fast.

I focus on a business outcome and one that is pretty clear.

This is obviously valuable to a lot of businesses.

Start with your value and make it easy to understand.

Know your customers:

How often do I hear people say that everyone is their customer?

Far too often.

You know what, if everyone is your customer, no one is your customer.

Here’s the thing, even if you have a product that is focused on the mass market, everyone isn’t your market.

Why?

Because you still are focusing on some specific segment in everything you do.

Let’s say you are looking to buy a ticket to a baseball game for the holiday weekend here in the States, if you are marketing there might be a number of different segments of the market for you to communicate with:

Families

Business folks

Groups

Long-time supporters

Casual supporters

The list can go on and on.

The key is that each of those groups has a specific button you can hit to get them to buy.

And, you need to make sure that your value proposition is pointed at those folks in a way that is meaningful.

Remember, even if you sell to multiple markets everyone needs a tweak on their message.

You aren’t going to talk to the law firm client the same way you are to the family.

You aren’t going to sell to a group the same way you are to a casual fan.

Market to folks:

This is the fun stuff for a lot of people.

But marketing is important and it is about 3 things at its core:

Message

Targeting

Consistency

I could write a book on this, but I’ll give you the Clif Notes this morning:

As I mentioned above with your customers, every segment of your audience is going to need a message that presents your value proposition in a way that is meaningful to the people you are trying to reach.

You need to target your message because everyone is going to be reached in a different manner. You might advertise, you may send direct mail, you might speak, but the key is to know your customer, the important message to share, and where the person is most likely to receive the message in a way that they will engage with it.

Finally, be consistent.

You have to deliver your message consistently.

A Hail Mary isn’t a great marketing strategy. So make a plan and stick with it by delivering your message consistently.

This will vary depending on what you are up to, but set parameters from the start that you can live with and measure results against.

Close the sale:

I’m of the Peter Drucker mindset that if you do a good enough job marketing, you don’t need to sell…but let’s be honest, salespeople aren’t going away.

The final step to generate more revenue is to close the sale.

The art of closing the sale needs its very own series and newsletter, but let’s just say that you have to ask for the business.

There are tons of books on this topic, but I will point you towards my favorite: The Lost Art of Closing by Anthony Iannarino. In lieu of me writing something about closing that is incomplete, check out Anthony’s book.

“You did not.” You quickly commented once you came into your office.

The roof had been covered in different kinds of colors and balloons, a little sign with ‘It’s a girl’ was hanging right next to it and almost identical to the one back in Sydney.

“What?” Nicole grinned and popped up from behind your desk.

“This is your last day before you start your maternity! Of course we’re going to make it the best one so you won’t forget about us the next couple of months.”

You stood frozen trying to take everything in at once. When you woke up this morning you wouldn’t have expected any of this. It was so simple yet so perfect and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Right in the middle of your desk was served everything that could come close to a breakfast. You had the Danish pastry, the bread that was fresh and could almost be heard with crunches as Nicole started to cut them in half.

Next to it were cut fruit pieces and two smoothies made personally for the both of you. Not to mention that there were four different kind of juices along with Cocio in case that was giving any lust to your stomach.

“I got everything from the cafeteria.” She grinned and sat down on the chair she had rolled in next to yours.

“You would believe that for once they finally gave something in return for all the work I have done for the past couple of months.”

You smiled softly and took a seat next to her. It was such a nice thought and it was quite lucky because you didn’t eat breakfast this morning. Call it destiny but you were so insanely happy to see all this food at once.

“You really planned all of this for me?” You asked and turned on your computer. Even if it was your last day you still had to make your last bit of work before everything would stop.

“Of course I did.” She laughed and placed a plate in front of you, “This is your last day. I want it to be special even though you kind of hated this job.”

You nodded your head and made wide eyes in agreement. It had kind of sucked at times but you always tried to see the light by the end of it.

“I’ve been trying to get it through.” You giggled and looked up as the door opened to your office.

“Sometimes it’s been better than other days.” You said more quietly and watched as Luke made a waving motion with his hand and placed his folders under his arm to close the door.

“Morning girls.” He greeted, acting like it wasn’t surprising that all the food was served right in front of you.

“Try the chocolate one. They are my favorite.” He smiled and grabbed one of the chocolate pastries on the plate and wiggled his eyebrows in excitement.

You rolled your eyes by his casual acting and leaned down in your chair after looking at the computer screen. The picture was something so old on the background and the files that were literally covering it all always illustrated stress. But somehow, you would actually miss looking at it.

“Eat everything you can before some of it is cold. I tried my utter best to take everything from the cafeteria before the morning eaters came and took it all. They are all such eaters I’m allowed to have the rest with me home but it never seems to be that way.”

You smiled brightly by her explanation and grabbed a knife and the box with butter.

“I think it’s so sweet like it’s not even that big of a deal.” You shrugged but inside you were buzzing with many emotions at once.

“It is! Can you believe this weeks from now you will have a baby in your arms.” She exclaimed she almost sounded more excited than you did.

“Think about it! It will be the biggest change of your life so far and you are nearly close to the finish line! I just can’t believe I’m going to be a godmother it’s going to be the most honored thing ever.”

“Who says you’re going to be the godmother?” You asked all of the sudden and silence fell upon the office.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” You quickly said when her face fell and her eyes widened.

“You ass!” She laughed and puffed you in the arm.

“No but seriously.” You said and tried to cross one leg over the other.

“Seriously what?” Nicole asked and focused on picking a few fruit pieces to her plate. She was a huge addict of pineapple so there was enough of it on the white plate.

“Do you want to?” You asked carefully but when she didn’t seem to understand you added the word. “Become her godmother.”

Silence fell upon the room again but this time it was something different. Nicole looked at you with half wide eyes and her lips parted because it had never actually been discussed.

Sure it had been talked about before but not something seriously. It had always been something best friend would joke about. That the second one of them would get a child the title godmother would be taken.

“You’re serious?” She asked just to be sure and held for hands intertwined in front of her face.

“Of course I am.” You nodded your head and leaned forward to grab her hand.

“I wouldn’t ask someone else to take care of my daughter with all the love and beating heart you have inside of you. That way I always know she will be safe.”

Nicole didn’t say anything but nodded her head repeatedly as she stood up from her chair. You knew what the answer was by the way she was smiling from top to toe and you stood up from your chair as well.

“I feel so honored.” She repeated her words and wrapped her arms around you as much as the belly allowed it to.

“You really should. She’s kicking violently right now.” You said muffled into the hug and moved away because otherwise you would end up peeing in your pants. Too much pressure in the bladder.

“It’s so amazing to feel.” She whispered and ran a hand down your belly before you decided to go back to the desk and continue your breakfast.

“Have you thought about what she looks like when she comes out?” She asked once you were back in front of your plates and put a piece of fruit in your mouth.

“Pretty bloody and slimy I must say.” You explained and leaned back in your chair, “I saw these birth videos with Luke and I must say I’m not looking forward to it at all.”

“Not when she comes out, literally!” Nicole laughed and stopped you right away, “I’m talking about who she is going to look like when it comes to you and Luke. Like are we talking about a mini one with blond hair and baby blue eyes?”

“Oh…” You managed to comment and looked down a little bit embarrassed by your mistake.

“Well if so, Luke is going to have a problem.” You laughed and tried to avoid the redness on his cheeks, “Because if she is identical to him he’s going to have her wrapped around his little finger.”

“You think he’s that whipped?” She asked back and you nodded your head in agreement.

“There’s no doubt. The way he’s been treating me the last couple of weeks I’m sure he will do the same to her. Just much heightened than with me because it’s going to be something way different.”

“Of course he’s close to you.” Nicole shrugged and took a piece of bread in her mouth, “You’re his daughter’s mother. At some point he needed to figure out his shit and treat you better.”

You nodded your head and hummed into your plate. It was right about what she was saying and for once you didn’t feel the least uncomfortable around Luke. On the contrary it was completely reversed.

“How’s it going with you two?”

The question seemed to put a pause on everything and you looked up from your food to look at her.

“You know, not that I’m supposed to question everything and put my nose into the wrong business but… I was just really wondering.” She leaned her elbow on the desk and rested her chin in her hand.

You nodded your head again and chewed the last bit on your mouth. It felt harder to swallow than before and you shrugged your shoulder again not really knowing what to answer.

After all, it was a good question.

“I mean, even if Holly is still in the picture it shouldn’t be affecting how you’re feeling for each other.” She said casually and grabbed her smoothie to take a sip.

You furrowed her eyebrows at her words not really getting along where she was hinting at.

“Come on, Y/N.” She sighed heavily and put down on drink, “Even Holly should have noticed by now that something’s going on between the two of you.”

“Yeah…” You agreed but not in the way she was hinting, “We’re kind of having a baby together. I would say that brings a pair closer together with such a life changing thing.”

Nicole rolled her eyes by your words and leaned back in her chair with yet another sigh.

“Are you really that unaware Y/N?” She asked, putting extra pressure on your name.

“I’m not sure what you’re talking about?” You asked back, not trying to sound stupid but to be honest you weren’t catching up. It felt like you were dumber than ever because she was speaking like it was obvious and you should know.

“You won’t let yourself feel, is that the thing?” Nicole was trying her best to analyze what was going on. She didn’t want to give up where the conversation was leading you.

“Feel what?” You were blinking more than usual showing your bit of discomfort. Maybe it was just because of the kicking that hit your bladder but you felt it wasn’t the time to escape to the bathroom.

“Love.” Nicole said like it was the most obvious thing, “You won’t feel and realize your love for him.”

You almost wanted to roll your eyes and stand up by her words. It was nothing close to what you were feeling and you almost wanted to tell she was stupid for having that thought.

“And no, Y/N. Don’t give me that look already or the pre-made speech in your head. Even you know deep inside that there’s something holding you back and it’s keeping you down from what you’re really feeling. I’m not saying you’re in love with him and I’m not saying you have to just because he’s the father. The only thing I’m saying is you’re making the situation much harder when you don’t allow yourself to feel in fear of being hurt.”

You looked at her carefully as she continued to speak. All the things she seemed to say hit you harder than your expected but you still remained quiet.

“You will figure it out. You will have that moment and when you do, it will hit you hard. I’m not saying anything because I’m not the one who controls your thoughts and feelings.” She leaned over the table to get closer to you.

“It’s all up to yourself.”

She fell back in the chair and you took a heavy breathing. It wasn’t supposed to put tension in the room but it was something that seemed like Nicole felt relieved to get out of her chest.

“Smoothie?” She asked, scanning your face and you nodded your head in agreement.

“It’s made special for you.” She hummed afterwards just to put the lights back up and you smiled carefully again with the straw in your mouth.

The conversations went back to being a little more normal and quiet as you continued to eat your breakfast. It always didn’t come to your mind you also had to work meanwhile because it was so comfortable just sitting with Nicole and talking.

It wasn’t until Luke stumbled into the room from his office with a tie fumbled in his hands you were a bit startled.

“Where is it burning Ken?” Nicole asked and you couldn’t help but laughing a little bit.

“You’re lucky you’re cute.” Luke commented back in warning and pointed at her with his finger.

Nicole shrugged her shoulder teasingly and you stood up from your chair to help him with his tie. He had apparently been too busy in the morning to fix it and now it had to be done.

“We’ve got a slight problem.” Luke announced like it wasn’t obvious on the redness on his cheeks.

“What’s going on?” You asked and stopped his shaking hands from fixing the tie.

“I totally forgot about this but we’ve got a meeting in five minutes with Peter and the guys. Holly including. It was apparently very important but it had slipped into the back of my mind and it didn’t spread in my thoughts until now.”

Your eyes widened in surprise and you almost wanted to hit him with the tie.

“Luke are you kidding me! This is my last day and you seriously want me to be a part of one of your lame ass meetings again? I thought I was over with this!”

“Hormones.” Nicole whispered more likely to Luke than you and you rolled your eyes again.

“I’m so so so sorry but we have to do this Y/N. It’s the last thing I’m asking from you afterwards you can just go home and relax.” He literally begged and pressed his hands together.

You sighed through your nose but you still nodded your head in agreement. If he really needed your help to get through this then so be it.

Luke was ready to thank you endlessly but it couldn’t be done as the door opened to the room and inside came Holly. But she wasn’t alone and of course she had Peter behind her with the rest of his business managers.

“Dear lord.” Nicole quickly by the bleach blond hair pulled completely back and you almost wanted to nudge her in the shoulder.

“Thank you for the breakfast.” You grabbed her hand before she could disappear out of the door and she nodded her head with a smile.

“Good luck with… Whatever that is going to be.” She scrunched her nose after glancing over at Peter and headed out of the door quickly.

You nodded your head by her words and took an extra look before being the polite person to shake his hand like the good assistant you were.

“Woah, something happened here.” Peter was quick to notice, like it wasn’t obvious already.

“So are we talking about a boy or an abortion?”

You almost wanted to attack him by the question but Luke hooked his arm around yours before you would be able to do anything.

“I’m gonna choke that man with his own hair gel honestly.” You spat and loosened yourself from Luke’s grip.

“Y/N-,”

“Yes, Luke I know!” You widened your eyes again and spoke sarcastically, “Behave!”

Luke’s mouth twisted into a straight line by your words and you managed to walk past him with your nose in the air. There was no point of commenting more on this, you were having different meanings on what was nice to say to others and not.

If you could you would have just kicked his ass by now.

“Thank you all for coming on such notice.” Luke announced once he had made sure everything was inside and sat on the chairs.

You pressed your pencil hard into your chin and watched him take the walk to the end of the table. It was like you were pissed at him but at the same time you felt so sorry for him. He really seemed like he didn’t want to be here but he had to.

“So let’s talk about, how’s the movie going? Everything well?” Peter asked at first just to get the conversation going.

“It sure is. Recordings are about to end and we will soon focus on the electronic stuff like editing and making the music. I have all the tapes I need so I only need to finish the last scene and come up with a name.” Luke explained and it satisfied Peter’s ears.

“Oh that’s great!” He clapped his hands together and pointed at Holly, “And the communication is going well? No problems on the recordings or anything I should be worried about.”

“Everything has been so insanely perfect.” Holly giggled and smiled brightly at Peter, “I was the perfect role for Julia there was no doubt at all. She could almost have been written for me personally.”

You almost wanted to scoff but settled with rolling your eyes. The countless of times Holly had failed to achieve the persona of the role had been unbelievable.

Even Nicole could have done it better.

“Amazing. I’m looking so forward to see it in the movies I have so many expectations for it.” Peter nodded his head and looked through his papers to settle with what he had to say.

You crossed your arms on the top of your bump and leaned back in the chair with a roll in your eyes. Was this really how you were going to finish off your last day by being at a boring meeting.

“Believe me when I say I want to get out of this as much as you do.” A voice said from your side and you looked over at Luke to meet his eyes.

“I thought meetings were your favorite thing?” You sarcastically commented but with a blink in the eye.

Luke rolled his eyes by your words and shook his head but he still laughed quietly. It was a good thing you were sitting by the end of the table because it made you more secluded from the rest of the meeting people.

“It is when it’s not about something so ridiculous like this.” He shrugged and tapped his feet up and down on the floor out of habit.

“These are the ones that makes me want to rip out my curls.”

You laughed quietly by his words and leaned over to run your fingers through some of them. They were living their own life honestly and pointed in every direction they preferred.

“You don’t have a hair tie right, right?” He asked and you shook your head with a small apologizing face.

“It’s okay…” He softly said but furrowed his eyebrows when you leaned over with your arm wrapped around your stomach.

“It still hurts?” He asked worried and you nodded your head.

It wasn’t much that it did, it had quite stopped since you had the incident at the airport but you could feel that it wouldn’t be the end of it. Sooner than later it would turn into something way different and the pain wouldn’t stop until you had the baby in your arms.

Luke nodded his head again but the worried expression wouldn’t leave his face. He was in a constant fear that it would always turn out into something worse and he would have to drive you to the hospital.

But as time has passed by and you had gotten more used to it, it wasn’t as bad as it was in the first place.

“I just think I need some water.” You mumbled and without hesitation he stood up from his chair.

You watched him head towards the water machine and made sure to grab a cup before he filled it and gave it back to you. He didn’t care what they were talking about at the meeting his only focus was on you.

“Thank you…” You sighed and took the cup when it was in your reach and took a sip.

“No problem. Just say if it’s too uncomfortable and I’ll cancel the meeting right away.” He said with no hesitation in his voice. You could tell how serious he was about what he was suggesting by the way he was looking into your eyes.

You nodded your head and fell back in the chair again to focus back on the work that was performed from Peter. You were trying to block out the pain by breathing carefully but your attention was drawn to something else when Luke placed his hand carefully on his stomach.

It was close but still carefully. His hand was warm and even if it wasn’t doing much to sooth the pain it still helped.

You couldn’t help but feeling a blush appear on your cheeks and you mouthed a small thank you before focusing back on Peter and his rambling.

“So, I think we can all agree that recently the two of you have been very quiet. Not much PR, not much being seen together in general and to be honest it’s been a while since I’ve seen your name been mentioned in the magazines.”

Luke and Holly nodded their heads in agreement because it was in fact true. It had been very quiet.

“And after that little incident where you somehow didn’t get to the date I requested I had to start thinking into new lanes…” Peter raised his hands in the air to not speak much about the subject but Holly was quick to comment.

“Well that definitely wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for you and your dramatic entry.” She scolded and looked sharply at you.

“Couldn’t you have called the dad for once instead of bringing Luke into the mess once again?”

Your mouth twisted into a circle by her words but no words escaped from your lips.

Normally Luke would have shifted uncomfortably in his position but this time it didn’t. He stared at Holly like he was really trying to understand how she could be such a selfish person in this situation.

She obviously had no clue what she was speaking about.

“Well…” Peter coughed to get everyone’s attention and wanted to change the subject back to where he started.

“Whatever happened something new has to.”

Luke furrowed his eyebrows by Peter’s words and leaned his elbows on the top of the table. You did the same but on your lap instead and leaned your chin in your palm.

“What did you have in mind?” Holly asked, you all knew it had to be something way different to get everyone’s attention.

“What I had in mind was or more like what is going to happen is…” Peter made a pause just to add up the excitement he had on his face but you wouldn’t have any of it.

“Luke is going to propose to Holly.”

Silence fell upon the room for just a split second but it was replaced with three large sounds of the word what.

Holly’s one was high pitched and just as excited as Peter’s face was. She was shining from top to toe in her eyes and she almost wanted to clap her hands together that was how happy she was.

Luke’s one was harsh and at the same time in confusion. He didn’t understand a single thing that was going on in Peter’s mind and even if he tried he wasn’t sure he ever would.

Yours was in disbelief. You couldn’t believe a single thing of it.

“Wait what are you saying?” Luke asked and licked his lips even though he wanted to fold them together in a straight line.

“You know what I’m saying big boy.” Peter commented with wiggled eyebrows and clapped his hands together.

“We will be planning the biggest proposal ever seen in the media and national TV before. Holly, prepare the fake tears already.”

“I can already feel them coming. I can’t believe we’re going to get married.” Holly waved her hands in front of her face as if it was getting too much but maybe you were the one that needed air the most.

You weren’t sure how pale you were but it was obvious once you rushed up from your chair.

There was no way you would be continuing to sit at this meeting. Hell there was no way you wanted to be a part of this anymore, it was all just air to you. Or you wanted to because your pounding heart was telling something else.

Luke was about to grab your hand before you could leave but you were so quick to rush out of the door with a hand in front of your face he wasn’t able to do anything.

That was the feeling of having a hole in your heart that you had been trying to stop digging for days.
