Have you guys ever played Catbird
I'm telling you it's the best platformer mobilegame ever, it's so cute and it's actually not that difficult to complete, I just love it so much I had to draw the three different skins in my artstyle

Catbird
by Mary Oliver
He picks his pond, and the soft thicket of his world. He bids his lady come, and she does, flirting with her tail. He begins early, and makes up his song as he goes. He does not enter a house at night, or when it rains. He is not afraid of the wind, though he is cautious. He watches the snake, that stripe of black fire, until it flows away. He watches the hawk with her sharpest shins, aloft in the high tree. He keeps his prayer under his tongue. In his whole life he has never missed the rising of the sun. He dislikes snow. But a few raisins give him the greatest delight. He sits in the forelock of the lilac, or he struts in its shadow. He is neither the rare plover or the brilliant bunting, but as common as the grass. His black cap gives him a jaunty look, for which we humans have learned to tilt our caps, in envy. When he is not singing, he is listening. Neither have I ever seen him with his eyes closed. Though he may be looking at nothing more than a cloud it brings to his mind several dozen new remarks. From one branch to another, or across the path, he dazzles with flight. Since I see him every morning, I have rewarded myself the pleasure of thinking that he knows me. Yet never once has he answered my nod. He seems, in fact, to find in me a kind of humor, I am so vast, uncertain and strange. I am the one who comes and goes, and who knows why. Will I ever understand him? Certainly he will never understand me, or the world I come from. For he will never sing for the kingdom of dollars. For he will never grow pockets in his gray wings.

This Gray Catbird looks concerned for the environment. But on the plus side, this Pier 1 marsh at Brooklyn Bridge Park "traps" a lot of trash, removing it from the East River. 😃

A Not Very PC Feathursday
Author William Edgar Thompson’s use of Southern Black dialect in his self-published book Aunt Chloe and Her Birds, printed for the author by Kingsport Press in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1927, is extremely cringe-worthy, but apparently it was all the rage when it was published. A review of the 1928 second edition observes,
There is something about the negro dialect that fascinates children . . . nor do the children tire of them after they have ceased to be children. Mr. Thompson has taken this method of presenting his bird stories and has done so most successfully. . . . Mr. Thompson's excellent book should have a wide sale. It is not only interesting reading but educational as well and should do much good in spreading an interest in birds and their protection.
Yikes!
However, the book also includes eight excellent color bird illustrations supplied by the National Association of Audubon Societies, two by naturalist and artist Edmund Joseph Sawyer (1880-1971) and the rest by noted wildlife illustrator Robert Bruce Horsfall (1869 –1948). We could find nothing on Thompson except that he authored this book, and we would be curious to learn how the Audubon Society came to supply the illustrations. Each of the images is sub-captioned with one of Aunt Chloe’s folksy observations. We considered editing them out because we just find them uncomfortable, but instead of censoring, we decided to present them as they appear in their historical context. These quotes are quite tame compared to the dialogue in the book, some of which is unapologetically racist.

*crawling through the vents and offering treats * umm. Pls pls pls need some Sofia crumbs this is your space to just talk about her or doodle her or anything I just love her so much
Eats out of your hand gently like a horse
On it boss !! I'll give you some fun facts
-Sofia is originally from Italy, but she moved to Britain with her family when she was pretty young. She can speak Italian fluently though, along with a couple other languages !! It helps when you're trying to run a criminal empire to be able to make threats in a variety of languages
-I think you already realized this, but Sofia is Black Mask in my AU !! I don't know how that idea came about but I knew I wanted to include her somehow, so now she gets an actual title instead of just being "Carmine Falcone's daughter". Instead of her mask just being a regular skull, she's got a falcon skull, like her last name :]
-Sofia also has like. MAJOR MAJOR beef with Oz. When Oz was living in Britain, he was actually working under Carmine, and was actively working against him without Carmine's awareness. Sofia figured it out and ratted him out, which led to Oz nearly getting killed and having to run to Gotham. And now Sofia is also in Gotham. What can I say she's a woman with a goal
-As "Sofia", she pretends to be a clean, wealthy socialite who gives to the community and invests in a lot of business. With the mask, she can have her hands both in the clean and dirty sides of Gotham. It gives her a leg up on Oz, who is basically shunned from the elites after the whole mayor debacle
-Her and Selina have a relationship VERY similar to a batcat dynamic. Selina steals from or messes with Sofia, and Sofia halfheartedly tries to capture/kill her. They beat each other up but that's foreplay for them
I love women's wrongs <3 here's a catbird doodle
