The British Big Cat phenomenon is so funny, like
Yeah, I don't think there's a native population of big cats in England. Even a breeding population of released or escaped ones, while possible, would need some proving. But there provably were a couple of the things running around for a while, most recently thanks to exotic pets being released after they changed the laws back in the 70's.
And yeah, maybe they're all gone now, I wouldn't be surprised if modern sightings are just the folklore taking on a life of its own. But there are people who genuinely argue that none of them ever existed, coming up wirth elaborate theories about how they were all misidentified house cats or a variant on the Black Dog myth or whatever.
Except,
like there genuinely were a few
Yeah most of them were exaggerated by folk tales and the media and frankly there's a lot of difference between a jungle cat in the distance and a goddamn puma, but come on now
all you have to say is "there was a public craze based on a few real sightings of released animals which was fuelled by media attention and mistaken identity", you don't need to tie it to mass hallucinations or cultural memories of the fucking Cath Palug

Why do you think humans are "tastier" than fae to Fou?
Because human culture is original while faerie culture is more often of the not imitations that didn't understand the original.

Re playing fgo has made me look at all this again and....the way Fou describs this makes me nervous for Mash.
It's not a resurrection mash still had three days until her existence gave out but her body was gone, bringing her back to life alone would have benn pointless.
It's "transferring Fous future" a Beasts future.
It means Fou had to modify Mash's existence from the ground up.
I'm just wondering how different Mash is after this.

A monstrous cat that lived near or in water. Said to have fought armies led by either Sir Kay or King Arthur, battles in which the beast had slaughtered many knights leading up to the conclusion.
While Cath Palug's preceding two siblings were detrimental to the land, prior to them Henwen had left bees and wheat grains in Gwent, barley grain and either wheat, a bee, or a piglet in Dyfed, and at Lleyn in Arvon she had left a grain of rye. Unlike the eagle, wolf, and cat, each of these was beneficial to the land she left them.
