Request: Hi! I'm new to your page, but I've fallen down a rabbit hole! I love your writing style, and I, too, have been obsessed with CSI lately and Nick along with it. I was wondering if you might write a story about just a simple, fluffy meeting between the reader and Nick? I know I haven't given much, but I feel like the task would be in capable hands! Letting out a sigh you leant back in your seat and closed the file in front of you. Some of the seemingly small cases could drag out a hell of a lot longer than anyone would expect.

“What’s up?” Nick's familiar voice made you turn towards him instinctively. “Did you close the case yet?”

You nodded “Just about. I’m totally ready to start working on something else.”

The man smiled and leant against the doorframe with his arms crossed “Well good news for you is that we’re all being pulled into the Sturley case from tomorrow. It’ll give you something a bit more substantial to sink your teeth into.

“You’ll fill me in?”

“Of course I will but I think it can wait. Is your car still in the garage?”

“Yeah, Catherine gave me a lift in today but I think she left early.”

“I don’t mind driving you home again.” he stood up properly and made a slight gesture for you to leave.

“You don’t have to. I can get a taxi or wait until Greg goes home since we live in the same direction.”

The man waved it off “Y/N, if I’d just worked the case you've worked I’d be running for the door.” he took a step towards you “Really, I don’t mind taking you home. It’s nice to have the company and it’s not really out of the way.”

“It’s in the completely opposite direction.” you laughed as you picked up the file and shoved it into the nearby cabinet.

“Oh shush.” he laughed “Just let me alright?” “Alright alright. What would I ever do without you?” you said sarcastically.

“Not have anyone to watch movies on days off with.”

You rolled your eyes playfully and began to leave the room, leading the man towards the locker room. “Good point but I’m sure Greg would do it.”

“Awww Y/N, how could you be so cruel? I didn’t know you had it in you. Do you want to also ask Greg to drive you home?”

“What’s this about me?” Greg’s voice joined from the locker room.

You laughed as you moved to your locker to grab your things. “Nothing Greg it’s alright.”

“She wants you to watch movies with her instead of me.”

“I’m honoured, but I think Nick may kill me if I do that.”

The man put his hands up “Hey, hey, if you want to watch movies with Y/N go ahead.”

There was a brief moment between the two men, Greg knew Nick liked you a lot. “How about the three of us watch movies instead?”

“The point was to get rid of me Greg.” Nick deadpanned as he grabbed his own things.

“I don’t actually want to get rid of you Nick.” you laughed as you closed your locker door.

"I’ll leave the two of you to it.” with that Greg practically dashed from the room, giving Nick a subtle wink as he left.

Smiling to himself Nick closed his locker door and turned to you. “Ready to go?”

“I suppose” you shrugged but you couldn’t fight the smile that was trying to form on your lips. “Can we grab something to eat on the way back though. We can eat it at mine.”

“Sure as long as I get to pick. The place you chose last time-”

“I know. Don’t remind me. It clearly wasn’t as good as people were saying.”

“I’d do a lot for you Y/N but I’m not getting food poisoning again if I can help it.”

Hi there!

I know many here are waiting for a version of Endgame to read, but I also recommend downloading the audiobook version to hear the way he reads the Kate chapter(s). I’ve never felt less guilty for pirating. To be honest, I don't really do audiobooks -- But, here, you can actually HEAR the condescension during the Kate sections.

I’m seeing mentions in the reviews about William being the villain, but — and this could be because I’m skipping around the audio — I think the cruelty is really directed at Kate. NOTHING you haven’t already read elsewhere, but it’s like he took every unhinged point from Twitter — like, Carole practically pimped Kate out, Kate copies Meghan’s style, Kate only upped her workload after Meghan came on the scene, Kate did Hold Still only because Meghan did the cookbook first, Kate took elocution lessons and her accent is now fancier than William’s, yada yada yada — and wrote a book around those points, adding passive-aggressive commentary AND using his voice to read that commentary with a few doses of sarcasm and condescension. There’s one part where he’s talking about Kate’s elocution lessons and how she’s improved her public speaking skills, and he ends the paragraph by SUPER sarcastically saying something like, “But progress is progress.” I was so thrown by how he said it, I actually did a double take in my bedroom.

I’m not a monarchist. I’m not a stan of any of these people outside of general entertainment/reading material. I’m a stan of Kate’s closet and the goodies inside the Palace vaults. [And I also stan your Tumblr archive, which I continue to steadily work my way through and thanked the Heavens when you published my Anon request ages ago asking you to open it back up ;-)] I say that to emphasize that, usually, the intense opinions people have of the Royal Family usually roll right off of me.

But.

This book is really messed up. It should be called out. It was absolutely misogynistic. Everything, EVERYTHING ties back to the Sussexes. In the Endgame universe, ANYTHING Kate does right is because she’s copying Meghan. The Sussexes do NO wrong.

And while, technically, slightly better written than Finding Freedom in terms of writing skill, this is now the second time I’ve wondered what the editors at his publishing company do. He goes *out of his way* to tie things back to Meghan/Harry even in sections about other people. It doesn’t even make sense considering he claims the book ISN’T all about them. So, he goes around circles just to be able to bring it back to Meghan/Harry. And he accuses multiple people of behavior that Meghan/Harry are exemplars for. It’s beyond hypocritical. He’s like, playing dumb??

I wonder if he might be done with the book writing at least since it is clear he burned all bridges with this.

I think most sensible people agree that William and Harry are done, but IF there was any doubt before this, there should be no doubt now: there is no way William forgives this. I think that maybeeee when Charles dies, there’s a chance William HAS to speak to Harry, but he is DONE with Harry.

Whoa — Okay, this was much longer than I’d intended! Sorry!

Ahhh you are that Anon!!!! Holaaaa! Anon, don't make me listen to the audiobook please don't. I have the file aajaajajaj, in fact, I had it before the book but my stomach knew I couldn't take that but maybe I should, even if it's just that part of the book. And yes, I agree that the worst portrayed in the book is Catherine. About William there is nothing but criticism about his character, that he wants to be King and that he doesn't respect his father's power basically but with Catherine, it's another thing. The word misogynist doesn't fit here. is not enough. I also said that it seems like the sources Omid talked to were people in the Squad, because a lot of the things he mentions in the book, nicknames and all, are things that group has been saying for years.

He's not playing dumb, he is.

And yes, this book is written to defend the Sussexes but in the weirdest way in the world. However, if you ask me, this book was written to channel the anger, frustration and above all the envy Meghan feels towards Catherine.

I realize that not every piece of media created within a fandom has to appeal to me, and that is especially true within The Addams Family fandom. Say, imho the '77s Halloween with the New Addams Family is atrocious, I just ignore its existence and the same goes for the 90s TV show for which I managed maybe half an episode. Or the Addams Family Reunion. I never watched the musical and I don't intend to.

And this is fine. There's no requirement to interact with every piece of media just because you're in the fandom. I stick with 60s TV show and 90's movies, The Addams Family and Addams Family Values because this is what I enjoy.

When it comes to Netflix's Wednesday, I didn't hate it but I completely didn't vibe with it. Still, I don't mind if other people enjoy it. Except, I can't get over how they've completely missed their mark with Morticia because I think Catherine Zeta-Jones could have been a perfect Morticia.

They had the perfect actress.

She is an ideal Morticia, she's got the look and the vibe and everything. That woman is Morticia but the writers on that show absolutely killed that amazing opportunity to explore that character through such a brilliant actress. There was nothing CZJ could do with that atrocious writing. Nothing. She had nothing to work with. ( I'm not even going to go into that scene with the policeman, where she tells him he doesn't know what it feels like not to be believed - I have no words to express how stupid it was. )

No, Morticia is not just the goth vibes and the rest you can just make up as you please. No. For all its inconsistencies within the fandom as to what's canon, Morticia has one very vivid character trait and that's she's incredibly supportive towards her children. She's just incredibly kind and supportive in general.

What they've done with her in Netflix Wednesday could be perfectly filed under: Morticia Would Never. They've used her as the agency for a cheap teenage trope mother / daughter conflict and this such a huge huge disservice to this character who for so many years exemplified the healthiest, emotionally intelligent and supportive parenting style in the history of television, and they just ruined it.

They had Catherine Zeta-Jones on board as Morticia. Catherine Zeta-Jones. And all they gave her to work with was that shit writing.

Eek, this one is hard! I'm gonna go with Cyjon's Bigger Families. Your girl likes to have as many sims as I feel like having.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

The Sims: Livin' Large. I've been playing since the TS1 release and used to buy every pack.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

LIVing. But I can see the debate for both.

This version of Catherine Howard - I just think I nailed her look!

Multiple times, but I never actually use them.

Genius, Gloomy, Bookworm, Geek, Animal Enthusiast.

Honestly? TS2 Red.

The short one with shaggy bangs from TS2, surprisingly.

Gameplay, but I do love building.

I mean I have mutuals and people I talk to, but I'm an awkward person in general so squad might be a bit much.

TS1 in general, TS2 for gameplay, TS3 for the pets, TS4 for ease of play.

Nothing official, but I have a plumbbob for my headset, I made some voidcritters, and I'm going to make baby cowplants soon.

Yep! For some time now, actually. Probably should look up exactly when I started it...

YES. I've added a lot of detail and ROS files to keep things fresh, and I do a lot more storytelling.

Thank you. That's what I thought. I also thought someone who keeps style files on Catherine could tell us which Sandringham Christmas this was?

It was Christmas 2011, right after Kate married in.

It was suggested at the time that Eugenie bumped/hurried past Kate because she wanted to ride in the car with The Queen.

Thank you. It looked more to me like one of Cinderella's ugly sisters rushing to squeeze her foot in a glass slipper... 😆

48 Hour Film Challenge

On the 13th - 15th of October 2023, I was asked to help out some friends with the Glasgow 48hr film challenge. They were in need of a production designer, and since I had been showing interest and wanted to develop my production design skills further, I agreed.

I was working alongside my friends at Shermer Productions, Alana, Casper and Kushal. The idea of the challenge is to make a film from scratch in only two days, using an assigned genre, character, prop and line. We were assigned:

Genre: Comedy/ Spy

Character: Ali Silver, Life coach

Prop: A lemon

Line: ‘Here’s Tae Us’

The story that the group decided on followed the spy Ali Silver seeking out information on some wanted criminals. My job as production designer was to create a top secret FBI document which contained information on the wanted criminals. As I only had the morning before the shoot to source this, it was a bit of a rush. I had to create 7 pages of document, take photos of my ‘criminals’ (each a member of the crew), and print it out. I am terrible with technology so had a nightmare figuring out the printer at the post office. I did, however manage to find a brown filing envelope which I could use as the folder. I secured the pages together with paper clips, and put a big ‘classified’ sticker on the cover. Once I had finally finished this prop, I dropped it off to them on set, where I found the crew freezing cold at Harrison Park. Then I returned to create the poster!

The poster was really fun to create. I used the software ‘procreate’ which I have been using since 2019. I knew from the start I wanted the poster to have a pop art style, and began playing around with some images I took of lemons. I like experimenting with the features that procreate offers, such as using ‘halftone’ and different blend modes. It really was very experimental, but I liked how it was looking so far. I was messing around with colours, layers, shapes and shadows, but it wasn’t until I was choosing a font when I realised that the lemon was only a really minor part of the film. The two characters meet when a bag of lemons falls to the ground. The crew seemed to be fine with this however, as the lemons indicate their meeting - a butterfly effect kind of thing. The font was tricky to find, I wanted one that was like a newspaper print, but matched the spy theme and the pop art theme. When I finally settled on one, I added the cast and crew names, as well as the title ‘Auld Acquaintance’ and the tagline ‘Read between the lines’.

After being brought in by the Hardy family, Laura and Fenton were quick to get Taylor into proper therapy, and the psychiatrist they chose was one of the best; it was done so that the Hardys could better help Taylor adjust to living in a healthier household.

have they ever been treated / medicated? Well, yeah. Obviously there’s no medication to help with the shit that she deals with, but Taylor got used to seeing a psychiatrist on a regular basis after joining the Network; it was mainly to make sure she was adjusting, as well as keeping an eye on her in case field work had to be taken out of her files.

have they ever been hospitalized or treated on an inpatient basis? Thankfully, no. She’s gone undercover a few times in mental hospitals, but she’s never actually checked herself in as a patient, and the Hardys are confident she’s not an immediate danger to herself or others.

how old were they when they first started experiencing / realizing symptoms? Symptoms started as soon as she was able to talk. After Catherine’s death, Taylor was mute for over a year, before she finally started speaking, but no one took her seriously until the Hardys took her in. Puberty exasperated some of her worsening behavioral issues, so by the time she was sixteen, they already knew something was wrong.

do they have a family history of mental illness? Catherine had CPTSD, and Taylor wonders if perhaps her mother was an undiagnosed bipolar, but she can’t confirm anything.

how was mental health handled / discussed in the family / community? The Hardys were the first people who ever actually helped her. It’s handled very well.

what are their thoughts on mental health / their diagnosis? Taylor finds it extremely important. She wants others to be able to find some semblance of peace the way she has, and it scares her that people can be mentally ill but never receive help; it can lead others down an extremely dark road.

in what ways has their diagnosis shaped their life or experiences? Mainly they’re just an explanation as to why she always felt like her brain was fucked up. But she also tries to make sure they’re not a hindrance; she never uses her diagnosis as a shield if she acts shitty, even by accident. She owns up to her mistakes and works to better herself.
