I just thought this was a good, temporary catio option for people in apartments or without a good space to build a more permanent structure.
You can check it out here.

Catio, Day Mode + Night Mode
Added more faux flowers to the catio. Because apparently I didn't have enough.

catio progress
As a renter I can't just Build a catio, it has to be portable. So I bought one of these things, and set it up on our back porch. It's relatively flimsy (my budget for this project is low) so I reinforced the panel connections with zip-ties, and will also be securing the whole kennel to the porch railing so it can't move. It doesn't have a real roof, just a frame and the tarp, which I actually think will be fine; Ruth isn't a crazed beast obsessed with escape, she's a 7 pound little fluffy thing who is scared of loud noises and just wants to watch birds in peace. So I secured the tarp with zip-ties as well and called it a day.
Next step: I've ordered an outdoor rug that looks like turf grass, which will go underneath the kennel. I'm also adding a new scratching post and a couple of pieces of found-object cat furniture for elevated perches. When I have it set up the way I want it, I will add the cat and see if she approves. Once it's finalized, I will then install a panel with a cat flap into the sliding window of the living room, and cut a hole in the side of the catio to make a secure entrance. The idea is to leave it accessible to her 24/7 if possible.
