The incredibly witty @nny11writes commissioned me to draw this scene based on their fic, “What’s in a (legal) name?”
You are formally invited to the wedding of:
Glimmer Moon and Elizabeth* Catra D’riluth
Please let us know if you can attend, and if you will be bringing a guest. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
RSVP
Yes I will Attend __
I will be unable to Attend __
I will bring __ guest(s)
*Yes, that is her first name. Do not use it unless you want to be shot with a nerf gun during the ceremony. We have modified the darts to include glitter. ❤
I was meant to draw one thing but then I took it too far and drew five things and I worked myself up into a month-long procrastination on whether I was going to add an additional closeup of WHAT I WAS ACTUALLY ASKED FOR (security guard entrapta) as a sixth panel, ruining the pacing in the process. Pacing is important!!! Anyway apparenty I overthink into a stupor where commissions are involved, but this time I was paid back very fucking generously, so it worked out in the end.
The comic is based on some chaos Nunny and their friend suggested. In my head, Glimmer and Catra swapped each other’s nerf guns as their wedding gift.
Kyle didn’t read the invitation. He never stood a chance. Rest in peace 😔

Catra x Reader (Gender-Neutral )
Request - Catra and R are combat partners. Catra is into R and R is trying to hide the fact they are casually sleeping with Entrapta. However, one time Catra smells arousal pheromones on R and questions them. R ties to deny it, but Catra get really close and sniffs their neck, flustering them. She smells Entrapta and runs off. R finds her and she adamant nothing is wrong. After some prodding, Catra breaks and tells them to go to Entrapta. R says that they love her, not Entrapt. Fluffy pls😁
Tumblr media
Y/n is training with Catra while using weapons. They are on the training battlefield and Catra is quick and Y/n is trying to catch up. Catra just smirked and she is standing on a high cliff and looking down at Y/n.
“Tired already, Y/n?” Catra asked.
“I’m not tired,” Y/n said.
“Then why are you breathing hard?” Catra asked.
“You are asking many questions instead of training,” Y/n said.
She jumps off the cliff and Y/n blocked her attack with the sword. But she was stronger and made Y/n fall.
“That's what happens when you are too busy being with Entrapta, that you can't even beat me in a simple training combat,” Catra said.
She glares at Y/n then Y/n stood up.
“I dont know what you are talking about, Catra” Y/n said.
“Dont lie to me, Y/n. I can smell Entrapta on you” Catra said.
Catra got closer to Y/n and she starts to smell Y/n’s neck. Now, Y/n is feeling very nervous and their body starts to feel hotter. Catra did smell Entrapta but she knows that Y/n will deny it again. Then Catra runs away and Y/n is confused about what happened.
---
For the last few days, Catra has been ignoring Y/n. But Y/n has tried to talk with Catra but she doesn't want to talk. Y/n is giving Catra space for now.
“What’s wrong?” Adora asked.
“Nothing. I can't stare at the ocean?” Catra said.
“Y/n has been looking for you. What happened?” Adora said.
“Y/n is with Entrapta and I lost my chance” Catra mumbled.
“Oh. That's rough and it hurts. But you still have to tell Y/n the truth” Adora said.
“That’s a dumb idea,” Catra said.
Adora gently rubbed Catra’s back. They sit together in silence and watch the ocean.
✬ ✯ ✬ ✫
All day, Y/n has been looking for Catra, because they usually train together. But Scorpia told Y/n that Catra is her training partner and Kyle is the new partner for Y/n.
“Catra, why you're not my training partner anymore? I had to find out from Scorpia” Y/n said.
“Whatever, Y/n. It's not like you care who is your partner” Catra said.
“What are you talking about?” Y/n asked.
“Get over it. Kyle is your new partner!” Catra yelled.
“Why?!” Y/n yelled.
“Go be with Entrapta!” Catra yelled.
She starts to walk away and Y/n followed Catra.
“Catra please talk to me,” Y/n said.
“I know you are dating Entrapta. I always liked you even when you are annoying when you hang out with Bow. But I know won't be with you because you are with someone else” Catra said.
“Oh... But Catra I’m in love with you. I only dated Entrapta because you had a crush on Adora. And I thought I never had a chance” Y/n said.
“Really, Y/n?” Catra asked.
“Yeah, I mean it. And I still like you” Y/n said.
“I like you too, Y/n,” Catra said.
Y/n leans in and kissed Catra on the lips. They start to smile at each other and Catra kissed Y/n back.
-----
Y/n and Catra have been dating in secret. Now Catra and Y/n are kissing each other... But Scorpia and Adora walked into Catra’s room and they caught them kissing.
“I can't believe my eyes!” Adora yelled.
Y/n and Catra moved away from each other.
“I was helping Y/n looking for something,” Catra said.
“Lies!” Adora said
Scorpia hugged Catra and Y/n very tight.
“My two best friends are dating! This is great!” Scorpia smiled.
“You are crushing my bones,” Y/n said
Scorpia let them go.
“Since when you two started to date,” Adora said.
“About a few weeks, we started to date in secret,” Y/n said
“I’m still in shock,” Adora said.
“I can't believe we got caught” Catra sighed.
Catra and Y/n want to spend time alone and away from their friends. They go to the woods and lie on the grass and hold hands. Then Y/n lies on Catra’s chest and she has her arms around Y/n.

Kinktober 2023 Day 13-Size Difference
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power-Catradora
After being dragged off onto a camping trip by Adora, Catra tries to get some alone time but She-Ra has other plans.
written for @kinktober2023
requested by anon
This story is rated E for explicit. It is for mature audiences only. All characters are over 18. NSFW under the cut.
Catra always had issues with baths and showers. Most likely in her nature as a cat. She always prepared to clean herself the natural way, licking herself all over. Which was fine as a kitten, but as she got older and bigger, it became impractical. It was harder to lick herself in a timely manner; not to mention that certain places were far harder to reach now. Not to mention she’d be coughing up hairballs at the worst times.
So reluctantly, Catra turned to showers. Not the best but still better than the nightmares of baths. Of course showers were absolutely hard to come by when camping in some hick ass woods in Bright Moon. Okay hick was harsh. These were the royal woods. But while the trees were nice, Catra and Adora were still sleeping on the ground with nowhere to wash other than a nasty pond.
As for why the pair was doing this, the other princesses told Adora that this was fun and good for couples. Ugh. So here Catra was in the magic of nature. At least she got a chance to watch Adora swim naked. Her tone ass breaking the surface of the water like a shark's fin. But that didn't leave Catra with a lot of options though.
So on their third day camping, Catra wandered off, hopping from branch to branch between the trees. Her ears twitched. She heard something familiar. The roar of water. Normally she would high tail it out of there. But as much Catra hated grooming, she needed a bath. And she made a big deal about not getting into the pond. So another source of water was just what the doctor ordered. As she got closer to the source, the noise got louder.
Catra was greeted by a cliff with a waterfall pouring down it. The water at the floor only made it to Catra's ankles. She recalled it rained last week, this must be from that. She stripped off her leotard and hung it from a tree. Her brown fur covered her from head to toe. Brown nipples poked through her fur. Only two! And a slight bit of pink could be seen from her pussy. She gingerly walked underneath the torrent of water.
The cold water blasted her. She flinched for half a second while she adjusted to the temperature. While it never got comfortable, it was nice to blast away all the dirt that was in her matted fur.
"Must feel nice, huh."
"Adora!" Catra nearly jumped. Sure enough, her girlfriend was standing there with a taunt on her face. Much like Catra she was naked. Unlike Catra her clothes weren't hanging anywhere so she just hiked through the woods buck ass naked. Adora's body was toned but lithe. Pink nipples covered her modest breasts and a small patch of dirty blonde hair covered her crotch.
"Must feel good; getting clean."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Catra mumbled. She was sticking out her ass to wash it so she was a bit embarrassed.
"Aw, don't feel bad Catra. I'm just happy you're finally taking the initiative."
"Okay, thank you Adora. Please leave me alone."
"Alright, alright. But you didn't say anything about She-Ra."
"Wait what?" Catra turned around.
"For the honor of grayskull!" Adora was enveloped by a bright light. "I am She-Ra!" In Adora's place stood She-Ra. She stood 8-feet tall, full of beefy muscles, and her bush a golden blonde. She towered over poor Catra.
“That’s..that’s cheating,” Catra pouted.
“Yeah, I know.” She-Ra ran her hands over Catra’s breasts. She purred but was too horny to be embarrassed by it. She-Ra’s huge hands made their way to Catra’s pussy. Catra let all the tension she’d been feeling this camping trip just melt away. Her legs buckled, so she leaned back against her giant girlfriend for support. She came and squirted; orgasms shaking the cat to her core.
“Feeling good Kitty?” Catra mumbled some nonsense. “Yeah you are.” She-Ra carried Catra back to their camp, leaving her clothes hanging on the tree.

Princess Glimmer and the Day of Many Choices: Perfuma's evil mentorship with Shadow Weaver (30/?)
"TO THE INNER SANCTUM!" Glimmer yelled and pointed dramatically. Shadow Weaver, Perfuma, Adora and Catra followed her.
Tumblr media
"I'll catch up with you, OK?" Scorpia said and dodged another lighting bolt. "Wow, mom, that's so cool," she said to her scowling parent. "You have to teach me how you do that."
"SUBMIT TO MY PARENTAL AUTHOROTHY, DISSAPOINTMENT OF A SPWAN," Scorptra shouted.
Tumblr media
"Awwwwww, it's so heartwarming to see mom and daughter bond," Shadow Weaver lied as she ooozed up to Perfuma.
"Go away," Perfuma primly said. They stopped and waited as Adora tore a locked door open.
Tumblr media
"You wound me with your hostility, flower princess (who I totally remember the name of)," Shadow Weaver said and placed a hand over the place where people usually have hearts. "I'm picking up quite a bit of negative vibes here".
Tumblr media
"Do not mock me, Shadow Weaver," Perfuma said. "I've head quite enough of that already."
"Oh?" Shadow Weaver said, pouncing at the display of weakness. "People do not take you serious (I have no idea why they wouldn't)."
"Everyone think that because I'm willing to listen to people, to give them a second chance, I'm weak," Perfuma muttered.
"Yeeeeees," Shadow Weaver nodded agree, then suddenly remembered herself and hurridly added "What? That's crazy."
"As if you would know," Perfuma scornfully said. "You have never given anyone a second chance in your life."
"Why would you say that?" Shadow Weaver asked. "I'm always willing to take a wayward child under my wings."
"Like Catra?" Perfuma said and raised an eyebrow.
"Of course not that worthless brat," Shadow Weaver scoffed. "I'm talking about children with potential."
She glanced at Adora who struggled to move the wreckage, no longer fueled by the Heart of Etheria.
"Children you can manipulate, you mean," Perfuma nastily said. "Well, don't try that with me. I know about your tricks."
"Of course I'm not talking about you," Shadow Weaver smarmed and put an arm over Perfuma's shoulder. "Manipulation is for the weak willed, those with a hunger for power or uncertainity to exploit. You are in tune with yourself and have no weaknesses for me to use against you."
Tumblr media
"Well, yes, I do work on my mindfullness," Perfuma said and shrugged off Shadow Weaver's arm.
Tumblr media
"Exactly," Shadow Weaver oozed and stepped closer. "So therefor I am quite powerless against you." She leaned down and hissed as in confidence. "The power of love always win, you know."
"That is quite right," Perfuma said and stood up straighter.
Shadow Weaver hid a smirk behind her mask and pretended to sigh dramatically.
"Shame on Scorpia, though…."
"What do you mean?" Perfuma quickly asked, worridly looking at the corridor from where they came, where lighting still played over the metal.
"Scorptra will kill her," Shadow Weaver said without preamble. "I know you only know the royal family of Archnidia from the pathetic… I mean gentle Scorpia. Her mothers were something different. Vicious killers. Brutal beats. Quite frankly horrible mothers. They would hurt their own child if she didn't match up to their expectations, could you imagine?"
Tumblr media
"We have to save her!" Perfuma gasped.
"Nothing we can do," Shadow Weaver sighed. "We can't hope to match powers with an etherian princess, attuned to her rune stone at her seat of power. Scorpia is as good as dead…" she glanced at Perfuma. "…unless…."
"Unless what?" Perfuma demanded.
"Give me your hand," Shadow Weaver said. "Lend me your strength and I can forge a link for us… for you to the Heart of Etheria."
Tumblr media
Perfuma gave her a suspicious look.
"This is just a bid for you to get power for yourself," she flatly stated.
"Shoot, you saw through my evil plan," Shadow Weaver sighed. "I suppose there is no corrupting those who are pure of heart."
"There sure isn't," Perfuma sniffed.
"You have convinced me," Shadow Weaver said. "Give me your hand and I will lend YOU the power of the Heart of Etheria."
"M-me?" Perfuma gasped, suddenly paling in the prospect of responsibility.
Tumblr media
"Who better?" Shadow Weaver asked. "If you don't wield it, surely someone like me will."
"I don't know…" Perfuma hesitated.
"What good is love, if hate has free reign," Shadow Weaver pressed. "What good is harmony, if negativity gets to ruin it. What good if a world where a parent can abuse her child, just because she doesn't measure up, without anyone doing anything about it."
"Shut up and let me think," Perfuma snarled.
"Oh, sure," Shadow Weaver said. "Let's just hope Scorpia isn't brutally killed while you waiver. "
"SHUT UP!" Perfuma snarled, and thorns errupted from vines all around her.
"Goooooood," Shadow Weaver smirked. "Now take my hand."
"I only do it, because in an unbalanced universe, someone has to even the scales," Perfuma firmly said.
She took Shadow Weaver's hand.
Tumblr media
"Say goodbye to Perfuma. Say hello to Tara"

Where Do We Go Now?
A She-ra: Princess of Power 2018 fanfiction
The war is finally over. Prime is dead, the hive mind is broken, and everyone is reunited with their loved ones. However, there are some questions left unanswered. What will be the fate of Catra and Hordak? What are these new memories Wrong Hordak has? What is Etheria's place in the wider universe? Where do we go now?

Chapter 19. I finally get to write some self-indulgent angst. Suffering is afoot.
TW: Child abuse, blood

Chapter 19: Welcome Home
Hordak, Entrapta, and Emily stood outside the gates of the Crypto Castle waiting for the Alliance to pick them up. Imp was being watched by Lonnie, Kyle, and Rohelio, and TD and the rest of Hordak’s brothers were spending the day with each other. Hordak wished he could be with his brothers. He felt bad for leaving them so abruptly last night and then leaving them the next day, but Entrapta may not have another opportunity to enter The Velvet Glove.
Entrapta was talking with Emily and going over the supplies they were bringing while Hordak watched. That day Hordak had decided to wear the overalls Entrapta had given him and a black turtle neck he found stuffed in a closet. Hordak found he quite liked the overalls. They were more secure than what he wore as a warlord and less restricting than the attire Prime issued. Sure, it was slightly tight around his hips and thighs, but Entrapta’s were like that, so he did not think much of it.
The trio then heard the humming of Darla. When the ship landed Entrapta hugged her as the doors opened to Bow and Adora there to meet them.
“Hey, you too. Glad you guys came, we needed more tech experts.” Bow shouted as he waved.
“Thanks for letting us come. I never had a chance to study their technology in-depth so this will be the perfect opportunity. Just think of all the fascinating this we could learn!” Entrapta, Bow, and Emily walked further into the ship.
“How have you been holding up?”
“As good as I can.”
“Me too. Where did you get the overalls?”
“Entrapta gave them to me. She thought I would need them.”
“That’s nice of her. Come on, we better catch up with the others.”
The two entered the cockpit of Darla to meet up with the rest of the Alliance, or some of them at least.
“Where are the others?”
“They elected to stay behind in case anything happened, and Catra didn’t wanna come for… reasons. ”
“Ah.”
When the two sat with their respective groups Glimmer rose from her seat.
“Alright everyone, now that we are all here I’d like to go over all of our objectives. Adora, Frosta, and I will search the lower parts of the ship for clones while Mermista, Perfuma, and Sea Hawk search the upper parts. Bow, Hordak, and Entrapta will search through Prime’s database for info about the wider universe. Any questions?”
Frosta raised her hand.
“Yes, Frosta.”
“Can we keep whatever we find?”
“You know what, sure. Bow take us up!”
Darla lifted off from the ground toward the ship. When Hordak sat down his anxiety started to set in. He had tried to ignore the dread he felt by burying it deep within his subconscious, but it is determined to intrude upon his day. He did not know why it bothered him so much since he lived there for 68% of his life.
It will be fine. Entrapta deserves time to see the ship. Just suck it up. He thought, balling his fists.
____________________________________
Darla landed in the docking bay of The Velvet Glove as the airtight doors closed behind them. Entrapta was the first to exit Darla rushing over to the door. The only problem was that she couldn’t open it.
“Hordak, can you help me with this?”
“Certainly, princess.”
Hordak held out his hand to the door causing the lime-green barrier to dissolve. The door opened to a hall covered in foliage from the tree She-Ra grew.
“It seems the tree can’t get past the green barriers so unless the doors were opened to begin with, the other rooms should be completely intact,”
“Wait,” Bow stepped forward, “what about the other doors, Hordak can’t be everywhere to open them.”
“Why not bypass the mainframe of the ship’s code and disable all of the doors.”
“Great idea Hordak, but I tried that last time and it didn’t work.”
“May I try?”
“Sure.”
Hordak cracked his knuckles and took the pad from Entrapta. Since he had much more experience with how the Galactic Horde coded their tech it was no problem for him to quickly disable all the doors.
“Thank you Hordak.” Glimmer stepped in front of the group. “Alright everybody, we all know what to do and where to go. If there is any trouble just call someone and they will help. Let’s go.”
Everyone began to file into their respective groups, and before Bow could join his group he was stopped.
“Bow, keep an eye on Hordak for me in case he tries anything, ok.”
“Don’t worry, Glimmer. I’ll make sure he’s in line.”
_______________________________________________
Hordak walked down the hallway he had been down hundreds of times, but this time was different. He was not a servant of Prime anymore, nor was the hall as sterile. The familiar smell of bleach had been replaced by the scent of blooming flowers and pollen. Leaves and sticks littered the floor when only a week ago any sort of dust was hunted down and swiftly disposed of.
Hordak then walked by Prime’s throne room, a familiar place to Hordak. If it weren’t for his near impeccable memory, he would have lost count of the times he had been in there. Mostly for… unpleasant reasons.
_____________________________________________
As the green barrier dissolved, HK1324778 entered the throne room of his Lord Horde Prime. The god sat on his throne with his trademark air of regality with a wine glass in hand. Behind him on his monitors were visuals of HK1324778’s most recent battle.
Ah, he must have called me to congratulate me.
“Lord Prime, sir.” HK1324778 gave a bow.
“Little brother, am I a joke to you?”
“Never sir!”
“Then why have you blatantly disregarded my authority?” He began to descend the stairs. “You have disregarded my direct orders to use the battle tactics I have given you. Instead of winning the battle for me, you have won it for yourself.”
“If I were to use your tactics half of the battalion would have died.”
“So you say my tactics are inferior?”
“No, my lord. I am only saying it was not the right time for-” HK1324778 was stopped by a backhanded slap causing him to fall onto one knee. The edges of Prime’s jewelry made cuts on his face; lime-green blood oozed from HK1324778’s face.
“Excuses! I should have you reconditioned for this flagrant breach of conduct, but” Prime knelt to HK1324778 and cradled his face in one palm, wiping away the blood on his cheek “ I am nothing but a merciful god. I will let you off with a warning.” Prime grabbed HK1324778’s face, “Just remember the last person who disregarded my authority, boy.”

If I Could Turn Back Time
by calciphoney
Book 1 of Save the Princess, Save the World
[Ao3]
[Beginning] [Previous chapter]
Chapter 4: Should I Stay or Should I Go
Trigger warnings: Swearing/Language
Adora fell asleep at some point. Catra hadn’t really been paying attention when it happened — she had, uh, nodded off for a few moments. The fire was still burning, though. The perfume of the sweet wood lulling her into compliance.
It wasn’t often that she got to smell wood burning. She always found it so pleasant. It made her want to curl up in Adora’s lap and purr.
That wouldn’t bode well if Bow and Glimmer were going to appear at a moment’s notice. Actually, she never got the chance to ask Adora how she had actually met the pair. She knew it was from when she’d come back to the woods for an explanation, but she really wasn’t sure —
“… let me lead the way, okay?”
Catra’s heart skittered to a stop at the familiar voice breaking through the muffling of the greenery around their little camp. When it started up again, it thudded in her ears. Her fur stood up on the back of her neck.
“The light came from the edge of the forest.”
“Yes, you saw the light. It’s this way.”
She…
She wasn’t ready to see them, was she?
“The trackerpad says otherwise.”
“It’s this way —”
Glimmer stumbled to a stop at the edge of the clearing. When her eyes landed on Catra and Adora, they grew wide. Her mouth formed a little ‘o’. And then she was pointing to them.
“Horde soldiers!”
Well, shit.
“Hm?” Adora said, rubbing her eyes as she sat up and looked around. “What…?”
“I see her!” Bow said, gaping at them as well.
Glimmer gave a cry, Bow joined in, and they charged.
Adora quickly got to her feet, readying her fists. Catra leapt to her side, ready to keep the three of them from hurting one another — although she doubted Adora would actually hurt either of them.
Not that Catra would either. But Adora? Hurting other people without a good cause was never her thing. Catra couldn’t recall any memory — outside the war — when Adora would purposefully hurt anyone else. Which was completely evident as she took on Glimmer with only her fists.
That left Catra and Bow to go head to head.
“What are you doing in the Whispering Woods?” Bow said, throwing a punch. She managed to block it, but the blow made her arms sting and tingle where it hit.
“We’re looking for a little adventure,” she said. “Pretty sure you two are too. Why else would you be wandering around out here without a bodyguard for the princess?”
She saw Bow’s muscles tense at that.
“How do you know I’m not a bodyguard?”
“You? You’re barely out of your nappies.”
He swung at her again. She easily dodged it.
“You’re not much older than me.”
He move to kick, but she managed to jab his side. It was a little more sharp than she intended — though that it would bruise in a few hours — but it did the trick.
It gave her enough time to see Glimmer and Adora pulling one another’s hair, both of them grunting and trying to slap the other’s hand away. Why was it that the pair of them, no matter what they were doing, always managed to be the most ridiculous people in the room? Well, forest.
“They’re so dumb,” she said, mostly to herself.
“Glimmer’s a lot smarter than you’ll ever give her credit for,” Bow said, stomping on her toes.
She let out a yelp and leapt back. Her eyes welled up with tears. She clambered up a tree and curled into herself to examine her toes.
How did he know?
Bow moved to help Glimmer untangle herself from Adora. They’d finally managed to let go of one another and were mostly focused on trying to make one another trip and fall.
Together, Bow and Glimmer managed to get Adora onto her stomach and tie her wrists together.
“Aren’t you going to help your friend?” Glimmer said, hands on her hips when she saw Catra up in the tree. “Or are you Horde soldiers all the same? Cowards who only protect themselves?”
“Catra!” Adora cried, kicking Bow from her prone spot on the ground. “Get out of here. Go back to the Fight Zone. Tell… tell everyone I’m sorry.”
Catra curled further into the tree. What should she do?
She’d thought, originally, just meet with Bow and Glimmer and things would work themselves out. But what if… what if she returned to the Fright Zone and protected Adora as she joined the Rebellion? She would succeed there — whether she was She-Ra or not. That felt like it was something in Adora’s destiny.
But was that the reason she was sent back for?
No. She was sent back to protect Adora.
She would stick with her until the end, if she had to.
After a beat, she leapt deftly to the ground. She paused at the bottom of the tree and slowly stood, holding her wrists out.
“If I go with you,” she said licking her lips. “If I go with you, you have to promise not to hurt her.”
Bow and Glimmer looked between themselves. A silent conversation passed between their flickering gazing — intense and knowing and everything she probably would have wordlessly said to Adora had it been them.
“Alright, Horde soldier,” Glimmer said, her eyes focusing on Bow one final time before flicking back over to Catra. “We accept your surrender.”
“Catra!” Adora said, sitting up. Bow placed a firm hand on her shoulder to keep her from getting up any further. “Get out of here!”
Catra gulped and refused to look at Adora. She lifted her chin and held out her wrists further for Glimmer.
The glittering princess watched her with glaring eyes and thin pressed lips.
“You better not be up to anything,” Glimmer said quietly.
“I won’t do anything unless you hurt her.”
“Do you promise?”
“I swear on my life.”
And, before Catra had even realized what Glimmer had done, there were purple stars dancing across her vision as everything went dark.
Well, shit.
From the darkness, as form appeared. It glitched into existence, adding an eerie blue and purple glow to the newfound world Catra found herself in.
* * *
“Hello, Catra,” the form said. “I am Light Hope. I’ve been waiting for you.”
“You sure about that?” Catra said, looking her up and down. “Were you waiting for me or for someone else?”
The form of Light Hope tilted their head.
“I do not understand.”
“Was it me you chose or someone else? I was just conveniently there.”
Light Hope frowned and studied her for a moment.
“You may not be who I was waiting for,” Light Hope said, “but you will be an admirable warrior. Tell me, will you fight for the honor of Grayskull?”
“If it keeps Adora safe, I will.”
Light Hope opened their mouth to say something else, however their connection was interrupted.
Catra was taken to… she wasn’t sure what it was, but the place radiated warmth and familiarity. It was pink and yellow and blue — like a sunrise on a pleasant summer morning.
“Hello, Catra,” a voice said.
“Uh, hi.”
A laugh sung through her bones and her ears.
“I brought you back to the beginning and that is all you have to say?”

Taking Control Rewatch/Analysis
After a lot of discussion, I've decided it's time to rewatch Taking Control, because it really does highlight Adora's and Catra's separate issues with each other, and shows that Adora, frankly, has very shitty habits when it comes to dealing with Catra.
NOTE: I am not, at any point, saying that Adora is abusive. She's not, but her approach to Catra in this episode just sort of sucks for a good amount of time, and it's all a result of how they were raised.
Let's just jump right in - Catra is clearly traumatized. We come off the theme song right into her having a nightmare:
Tumblr media
And not just any nightmare - she's dreaming about Prime, and everything that happened.
Tumblr media
So... off to a good start for her.
And then Adora comes in, and god help her she just wants to do whatever she can for Catra, but at that moment, even Catra doesn't know what she needs, and she's spent years dealing with Adora's "we can fix it" savior complex, so of course she does the one thing she knows how to do - gets angry and lashes out.
(It's also really important to remember that Catra specifically told Adora not to go to Prime's ship. "Don't come here, no matter what." She was ready to die on that ship, ready to die for the only thing that still mattered to her - Adora.)
Then, just like Catra, Adora falls back on old, Horde-learned habits - she gets angry.
Tumblr media
An Not at a great move considering everything Catra just went through, and blatantly ignoring Catra's admittedly ridiculous request to just be dropped off on some planet. ("I said I'm going to take you home and that's exactly what I'm going to do.") Is it something Adora should indulge? No, of course not. Is the correct response flipping the mattress and throwing Catra on the floor? No.
And then...
"Why are you acting like this? We saved your life!"
Tumblr media
Catra told Adora not to come back. She sent Glimmer away specifically to keep Adora from going to Prime's ship. She had already accepted her fate and planned to die or spend the rest of her life as Prime's mini-me, and she was at peace with it. The implied "we saved you, you should be grateful", is very Shadow Weaver-esque, while also saying Catra should be grateful for something she did not want.
Again, is Catra being reasonable? Of course not. She should've known Adora would come back for her, whether it was to save her friend or to be a hero. So of course she gets mad and yells back because she never asked to be saved, or given another chance at a life she didn't want.
"I thought things could be different this time but clearly nothing has changed."
Tumblr media
And Adora is very, very wrong. A lot has changed. Catra has changed. But Adora's way of arguing with her hasn't adapted to catch up with all that yet.
And the kitchen scene. Oh the kitchen scene.
Tumblr media
"I thought we actually stood a chance at fixing things this time, but after everything we've been through, she's still a stubborn brat!"
Well, Adora... you haven't actually tried to fix anything. You went in, tried to force her to talk when she clearly didn't want to, then yelled at her and walked out. You want her to be grateful that you saved her even though she had absolutely zero desire to live, and you kind of threw her out of bed.
"We all risked our lives to save her, and she can't even say thank you?"
How long has it actually been since they got away from Prime? I can't imagine more than twelve hours, since Darla is still in pretty rough shape and Entrapta is running around like crazy to fix things. That's less than a day to recover from being chipped, dying, being brought back to life, and adjusting to now having to live a life you'd given up. Catra's still trying to catch up with everything, and Adora is already harping on her about changing and being grateful.
And again, let me be clear - I do not think Adora is abusive or malicious. Frustrated, yes, because Catra is being stubborn, but not for the reasons Adora thinks. She's used to Catra acting this way, but the feelings are coming from a completely different place, something Adora hasn't taken time yet to understand. She's not just being stubborn, she's scared.
We also get Glimmer being the voice of reason in this scene, and that's so important:
"This is Catra we're talking about. Did you think she was instantly going to become a totally different person?"
Two things to note here: Glimmer, by this point, has spent a lot of time with Catra. Catra, who kept coming back to her cell to taunt her, but also stayed when Glimmer asked. Catra, who laughed when they talked about Adora and told her about being cadets in the Horde. Catra who saved her life. Glimmer knows Catra hides behind a hard exterior, and from the way Adora's acting, she can probably guess that she sent Catra right back into that after some very painful vulnerability.
Second thing - Glimmer says different person. Not better, not good, different. Catra's already proven she can be good, and Glimmer knows that'll come out when Catra is ready. But Catra's processing method doesn't run on Adora's schedule.
"I thought she'd at least try."
Again, Adora, you haven't given her a chance. Old coping mechanisms just aren't going to work here, no matter how hard Adora tries.
She also just really unintentionally has the worst timing.
Tumblr media
This is the second time she's walked in right on the heels of a flash, and it's obviously not her fault, she doesn't know. It just terrible, terrible timing.
And this is where we get into some really dicey territory.
Catra had complete control of her body just ripped away from her. She's been violated in one of the worst possible ways. She's had almost no time to recover mentally. And now here Adora is, with someone Catra does not want to see, ordering Catra around and making demands.
Again, Adora isn't wrong per se. The chip needs to go. But Catra is in full defense mode, and Adora isn't helping. She's making it worse. She literally backs Catra into a corner and yells at her. It's really not a good look.
Tumblr media
She's scared. Scared of the situation, of the fact that she has to face Entrapta, of the idea of living a life she had no intention of continuing. And she's scared of Adora. Because Adora is still acting the way she would have before Horde Prime, but Catra's not the same person anymore, and Adora hasn't seen that yet. She doesn't see it until Catra finally takes the hardest step and reaches out to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Stay."
And finally, finally Adora sees. She sees Catra being vulnerable, asking for her. She realizes that maybe she's been doing this wrong. Maybe her old approach isn't right. Maybe Catra doesn't need the old Adora and her way of dealing with things. She needs comfort. She needs to know she's not making a mistake by letting Adora see her weakness.
Catra, meanwhile, has at least started to come to terms with things. She has this life, even if she didn't want it, and she's so tired of self-sabotaging. And when faced with the possibility of never seeing Adora again... she realizes she doesn't want it. She doesn't want to be alone anymore.
And they proceed with this new, tentative, weird dynamic. Catra forces herself to face the flashes the chip's been causing and use them for something good, and Adora supports her through it instead of arguing. It's new, and it's strange, but it works.
Rounding out to the end of the episode, it's really significant that Adora goes to Bow and Entrapta after the fight rather than back to Catra. She's finally recognizing that she needs to give Catra space, and that if Catra wants her, she'll come to her. It's a gamble that pays off.
The Point:
There's a lot going around about how Catra is abusive and cruel to Adora, but not a lot about how it goes both ways. Adora is the hero, she's supposed to be perfect, but she's not, and we see that as early as the first episode when she all but blames Catra for the way Shadow Weaver treats her. ("You are kinda disrespectful.")
It's a terrible consequence of the way they were raised, and it's really showcased in Taking Control, where Adora immediately reverts back to old habits and ways of dealing with Catra that don't fit anymore. It's only when she learns how much things have changed - when she truly sees how vulnerable Catra is - that she tries to adjust her own behavior accordingly.
Catra, in much the same way, learns that she can't just slip back into her old skin - her old habits, her old way of acting. It's not who she is anymore. So she takes a chance. She lets herself be vulnerable. And Adora responds positively. It's a huge step for both of them, and a turning point in their relationship. Now they really do have a chance to fix things, because they're finally on the same page.

u think catra knew super huge buff ladies were adora’s type? how fucking funny would it be if catra thought she never stood a chance with adora not because of the internalized homophobia shadow weaver instilled in them but simply because she thought she was not tall and buff enough for adora’s taste. “adora doesn’t want me!!!!! not like i want her..... because i’m not swole😔”

glimmer and catra...... glimmer and catra. on the surface you’d think if there were any characters in the show that were polar opposites itd be these two, catra was the face of the people who killed glimmers father and glimmer stole adora from catra and was also born with privilege and power while catra had to fight tooth and nail for survival. but as we get to know glimmer we see they have a lot of the same issues. both of them just wanted respect, and they were two kids stuck in terrible situations just waiting for the day they could take power for themselves and make the world a safer place. glimmer’s world was all of etheria but catra’s world was just the fright zone and you can see how they approach things differently because of that.
its not until they see each other at their lowest points that you start to think like.. they really are two sides of the same coin. when glimmer outsmarted her catra allowed glimmer to see her at her weakest basically suicidal (not even adora ever saw her like that, just completely surrendered.. it was different from 3x05), and right after that catra saw glimmer make the same mistake she did with the portal, wanting to defeat her enemies at any cost and nearly destroying the world in the process. catra came to respect glimmer in season 4 and see something of herself in her so she steps up and tries to protect her from horde prime. ultimately her love for adora was what inspired her to change but that FIRST step? that first selfless act? it was for GLIMMER!!! her worst enemy, even worse than adora because there was never any love there, she absolutely hated glimmer and everything she stood for. thats how you know her redemption was real.
AND THEN!!! catra was all ready to sell adora out to horde prime in this one final act of revenge and self destruction but glimmer of all people was able to get through to her and help change her mind?? like yeah in that moment glimmer was out of options but still, it was clear that she SAW something in catra. after spending days/weeks getting to know her she saw something in her that was good and didnt give up on her even after all the horrifying shit catra did to her.. even after she tried to destroy Bright Moon her home and the whole world that she felt responsible to protect, and caused angella’s sacrifice..... now with prime catra had the chance to destroy the world again and had already proven herself capable of it so what reason would glimmer have to put faith in her? except for the fact that she had come to see herself in catra as well... so in 5x03 she takes her hand and begs her to do something good and its such a beautiful moment (especially when catra proves to be worthy of her trust). once again the memory of adora is what ultimately inspires her sacrifice but it was glimmer who put it in her head, who showed her trust when she thought she was worthless.. and you cant tell me catra saving glimmer was just for adora’s sake bc it wasn’t. it wasn’t.
then in the next episode glimmer is completely on catra’s side, defending her to adora “she said she was doing it for you” and immediately jumping on board with a plan to risk everything to save her because against all odds glimmer had come to care about catra too. glimmer who used to say things like “i wont risk the whole alliance for one princess who betrayed us” and “evil people don’t change” now smiling telling adora “did you think she was going to just instantly become a totally different person?”
ITS LIKE!! they were mortal enemies who BOTH tried to kill each other multiple times AND NOW THEY’RE OUT HERE SAVING EACH OTHER!!!!!! THIS POST IS PURE INCOHERENT RAMBLING IM SORRY BUT GLITRA SIMPLY TRANSCENDS THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Catra tried her damned hardest to make Hordak "get over" Entrapta, but it wasn't working, even when they burned down the Rebellion,
and OF COURSE it wasn't working, because Catra was trying to convince herself the same thing, to get over Adora, which had NEVER worked,
......and Light Hope had been trying all this time to make Adora get over CATRA, make her see her as her enemy, but that had never worked either....
and that's absolutely no surprise, when you realise, Light Hope was never able to erase her feelings for Mara.

Karaoke
I promise I can write something that’s pure fluff. See?!
In the newly renovated Fright Zone, the gang is having a party. Catra and Glimmer duet Shaggy. Catra has a surprise. --- AJ Michalka has a phenomenal voice and covers "Warriors" on the SheRa soundtrack. She does this in character as Catra and even says "Hey Adora," at the end, what else did you expect me to do with that except come up with an excuse for Catra to sing this for Adora? I'm sure this has been done before this is just my take. Also whenever I hear "Wasn't Me," or "Angel," by Shaggy I imagine Glimmer and Catra getting drunk and singing it.
Adora brought a hand to her nose, trying to cover her snorting laughter. Besider her Bow swayed in time to the music. Light flashed from above blue and pink.
“HA!!”
Adora couldn’t stop herself, exploding into a fit of giggles, nearly toppling the cocktail in her hand. Nearly sending pink liquid all over her white pants and halter top.
On the stage, her girlfriend and her best friend sang like they hadn’t a care in the world.
“How could I forget that I had given her an extra key? All this time she was standing there she never took her eyes off me!”
Glimmer sang into the mic, her purple leather skirt sparkling in the stage lights.
“Wooow! Yeah Glimmer!” Bow cheered, he took another sip of his beer. More delicately then anyone else around them and probably the only one with a modicum of sobriety left. All around them people sang along, swaying and trying to dance.
“To be a true player you have to know how to play!” Catra sang, winking at Adora from her place on the stage. Her hair had grown out again in the year after the war. Already falling just beyond her shoulders. Adora took a sip of her drink to conceal the blush rising in her cheeks.
“ To be a true player you have to know how to play, if she stay a night, convince her stay a day, Never admit to a word when she say. And if she claim, ah, you tell her, "Baby, no way"
“But she caught me on the counter!” Glimmer’s voice cracked but she kept going,
“It wasn’t me!” Catra leaned forward into the mic.
“Saw me banging on the sofa!” Glimmer laughed, leaning in to meet Catra halfway.
“It wasn’t me!”
“I even had her in the shower!”
“They’re not bad,” Bow admitted whispering in Adora’s ear. The blonde nodded, pulling a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. Catra had convinced her to wear it down for once.
“Saw the marks on my shoulder!” Glimmer and Catra sang in unison. Catra unsheathed her claws in flash, winking again, this time a little more suggestively at her girlfriend in the audience. Cheers erupted throughout the bar, an eager welcome Adora thought, her chest warming. To have Catra greeted with rounds of applause rather than boos and hisses and threats.
“ Honey came in and she caught me red-handed, creeping with the girl next door, picture this, we were both butt-naked, banging on the bathroom floor. I had tried to keep her from what she was about to see, why should she believe me when I told her it wasn't me.”
Glimmer and Catra belted through the mic. It was all Adora could do not to transform into Shera. Just the sight of seeing Catra in the limelight, black pants held up by suspenders, her white shirt open just a tad too loose. She took a swig of her whisky mid chorus and continued to sing.
“I have to hand it to Scorpia and Perfuma; they've really done wonders with the Fright Zone,” Bow mused. He clapped along to the music and finished his drink.
“They sure have!” Adora answered, finally turning her attention from the stage. “Glad they were able to renovate the place into a karaoke bar. Somewhere in the distance Mermista’s groan could be heard, Adora turned. Seahawk and the water princess sat at one of the tables, the pirate’s eyes wide with amazement at the flaming martini set down before him.
“Should I….?” Adora made a b-line towards their table. Mermista flunk out her hand, a spray of water dousing the flames.
“Just drink it,” she groaned to Seahawk’s evident dismay. Adora bit back a grin. It had been awhile since they’d been able to just kickback and relax, indulge even. Post-war meant bringing magic to all the galaxy. Which meant traveling around, squashing the last of Prime’s brotherhood. Plus meetings after meetings and much needed reconciliation between Catra, Entrapta, Wrong Hordak, Scorpia and everyone else. It had been trying and difficult and the work was far from finished. But tonight, tonight was a chance to simply let loose.
“Honey came in and she caught me red-handed, creeping with the girl next door, picture this, we were both butt-naked, banging on the bathroom floor. How could I forget that I had, given her an extra key, All this time she was standing there, she never took her eyes off me!!” Glimmer and Catra finished in unison. Again cheers lifted from the crowd. Glimmer bowed, losing her balance until Catra caught her by the arm to steady her and they made their way down the stage.
“Wow, that was...wow,” Scorpia’s face nearly matched the color of her claws. “That was..I don’t think I understood half those words! But uhh next, next...we have...Perfuma! Who I’ve been told is going to do an...an interpretive dance called Ode to Rain, so that will be….uhh….fantastic.” Scorpia laughed nervously but clapped all the same while Perfuma seemingly floated up the stage.
“Hey!” Glimmer greeted Adora with a hug and Bow with a kiss.
“You were great!” Bow put his arm around her waist. “Who knew you and Catra could duet so well together!”
Glimmer laughed, full and hearty, accepting a glass of sparkling wine from Bow.
“Where is Catra?” Adora looked around the crowd. “I thought she came down with you?”
“She said she had to get ready for something,” Glimmer shrugged.
Adora nodded, trying to quell the bubble of anxiety that threatened to rise.
Catra would be fine, she can be left alone. She’s not a child. She’s perfectly capable.
Bodies pressed against Adora in the maylay of the crowd. Talking and drinking and laughing. The lights flashed all around them. Dizzying.
There’s so many people here….what if...there could be….threats. Some clone we forgot?
Someone wanting to take Catra down?
Adora forced herself to breathe, gripping her glass tight.
“Adora, you alright?” Glimmer touched her arm.
“Yes!” She smiled automatically, “I’m great!” She took a breath, eyes flicking upward as Perfuma left the stage.
Still no sign of Catra.
“It’s just...I worry sometimes...I worry about leaving Catra alone sometimes...what if there’s…”
Glimmer opened her mouth to respond when a cool light drifted across the crowd from above to the stage.
“Adora….you might want to…” Glimmer pointed. Adora followed her gaze, jaw nearly dropping to the floor. Silhouetted against the limelight a lone figure stood before the mic. The outline of someone wearing a tight fitting black dress that fanned out toward the bottom. Catra’s tail swished nervously behind her, ears flicking. She stepped forward, the high slit of her dress revealing one leg as she moved. The light illuminating her freckled face, mismatched eyes gleaming.
“Oh my….” Adora took the last sip of her drink. Beside her bow gasped. Even Glimmer’s eyes stared wide with shock. The hub-bub of the crowd died instantly, everyone holding their breath. Even Emily and Entrapta, who were observing in the corner, fell silent.
Catra’s shaky inhale of breath sounded through the mic throughout the bar. Adora waited, stunned. Taking in her girlfriend, the deep V of her dress, the way she shifted her weight. Then finally, after a mini-eternity, Catra’s eyes slipped close and her voice drifted out:
“We're warriors, unstoppable. We feel the evil coming, and shadows all around.”
She sang low and haunting, each word a melodic whisper. Goosebumps rose on Adora’s skin.
“Danger surrounds us, but won't bring us down. We're on the edge of greatness, turning darkness to liiightt,”
Her voice undulated and moved like the waves, the crowd beginning to hum. She opened her eyes, gold and blue sparkling in the light. Catra’s gaze looked through the throngs of people finally meeting Adora’s. The blonde felt her knees shake, she passed her glass to Glimmer without looking away. Catra smiled,
“We're right beside you, ready to fight. We must be strong! And we must be brave! We gotta find every bit of strength that we have and never let it go!”
“Wooo!! Yaaaah!!!” People exclaimed, clapping. Catra’s smile widened, she took the mic from it’s stand, now walking across the stage, tall and proud and brimming with pride. Adora’s cheeks ached, beaming with a smile. She too clapped along.
“We're bound to this struggle, with mighty sword and flame, we'll never fail you, when you call our name.”
She turned, again meeting Adora’s radiant face across the audience. Their eyes met, though Adora could hardly see her through a fog of tears pressing against her eyes. Her heart expanded so fast and full she thought it would explode. Catra too grinned with confidence, revealing pointed fangs. Her eyes dazzled, shoulders lifting as she sang, not once looking away from Adora.
“Together we'll be heroes, joining forces as one. Strong as the steel we carry, we rise like a su...uu...uu...un!”
She hit the note perfectly, the whole bar erupting into ecstatic joy.
“Yeah Horde Scum!” Glimmer fist pumped at the air, jumping up and down. Off to the side of the stage, Perfuma pat Scorpia on the shoulder through her tears.
“That’s my wildcat!”
Catra sang through another round of the chorus, parading back and forth. People reached out from below towards her, laughing and whooping.
“Cause we're warriors, we are unstoppable, nothing's gonna get in our way. We're gonna win in the end….”
Catra sang through the last chorus, coming to stand gracefully before the microphone stand once more.
“We're gonna reach inside, still together and fight and never let it go. We must be strong…” She finished with a flourishing whisper. Looking at Adora from her poised position stage, she blinked, slowly, her own voice cracking with emotion.
“Hey Adora.”
Tears streamed down Adora’s face, her heart hammering in her chest. She could feel herself glowing, transforming, this time brought on by pride and admiration for Catra. Catra who only sang in secret, in dark places, until now. Catra who had always deserved every bit of attention and affection and praise but never got it, until now. Catra who was so guarded who never let herself betray emotion or vulnerability, until now.
There was a white flash, people gasped, and Adora didn’t need to look down at herself to know she’d become Shera.
Catra climbed down from the stage with Scorpia’s assistance and made her way Adora, people parting for her instantly, cheering and clapping.
“Catra! Y...you! You’re…”
Catra’s lips cut off the rest of her sentence, pressing in a full deep kiss, nearly melting against Adora, well, Shera’s chest. Adora put her arms around her girlfriend holding her close, one hand to the small of her back. She had to control herself in public after all, though it was hard to do with her girlfriend looking so...so ravishingly gorgeous, so happy and exuberant. A new round of tears spilled down her cheeks.
“I knew you could sing,” she breathed, breaking the kiss only to press her forehead against Catra’s which required her to lean down a little more in this form. “But not...l...like that.”
Catra laughed, holding Adora’s hand to her face and leaning into her touch. The ruckus of people seemingly disappearing. The only thing that mattered, the center of her universe was already right in front of her.
“I love you,” Catra whispered.
“I love you too, so much.” Adora pulled her in for another kiss, the cheers escalating around them.
Catra rolled her eyes only to be shoved by Glimmer’s arms around her waist.
“Catra, where was that voice when we were singing?! I need to up my game!”
“That...that was beautiful Catra!” Bow wiped his eyes with his yellow jacket. “Absolutely beautiful.”
“Alright, alright Sparkles,” she pulled away from Adora’s hold. “Next time we do Angel by Shaggy I’ll be sure to really sing it with pathos, yeah? And take it easy Arrow Boy your gonna get snot all over your jacket.”
Glimmer only rolled her eyes but gave Catra a kiss on the cheek.
“Well next rounds on me Wildcat!” Scorpia announced happily clapping Catra across the back gently. This time Catra didn’t stiffen or bristle at the touch but smirked. A testament to how far she’d come in such a short time. Adora could hardly contain her emotion.
“You may regret that Scorp.”
The night continued on, Catra changed back into more comfortable pants and dress-shirt. Rogeilo sang...well..grunt roared some prolonged ballad that no one but Lonnie understood. Mermista and Seahawk performed no less than seven shanties. A curtin was set on fire by the third one. Frosta entertained with a series of impressive ice sculptures and Double Trouble, dramatic as they were, impressions that left everyone’s sides sore from laughter. Scorpia closed out the evening, singing a rendition of “Beautiful,”  by Christina Aguilera that had everyone, even Catra in tears by the end. Though Catra swore her eyes were she only  irritated by the bright lights.
Adora put her arms around Catra from behind, still having advantage of being in her Shera form. Muscular arms holding her girlfriend close in the dark of the crowd while Scorpia, sang her last few notes. Catra swayed in tandem, tail going around her girlfriend’s leg, she leaned her back against Shera’s broad torso and hummed. Adora planted a kiss on the crown of Catra’s head. The mark of the Heart of Etheria glowing against her chest. In the mass of folks and the company of friends, lights glowing and Catra content in her arms, sniffled happily through tears of joy.
They had indeed won in the end.

For Want of a Skeletor
Entrapta hosts a Princess Alliance meeting at the Crypto Castle and absolutely nothing goes wrong. More Skeletor stories!
*
The lights were on late in Dryl.
Stars shone outside the windows. Entrapta sat hunched over her desk, studying datapads and readouts. A polite cough from the laboratory door caused her to look up from her work.
“Oh! I’m sorry Hordak, did I wake you?”
Her partner stepped softly into the room and shook his head. “Imp did. You know how he gets when either of us take too long to come to bed.”
Hordak crossed the cluttered floor and joined Entrapta at the desk. He was holding Imp in his arms, and the smaller, winged clone whined plaintively when he saw her. Entrapta kept her screens on, but leaned gratefully into Hordak’s side and curled a tendril of hair around his waist. She yawned, despite herself.
“I know. I just want to make sure I get everything right before the other princesses come over tomorrow.” She glanced back at the data, nervously tapping her fingertips together. “I’ve never hosted an Alliance meeting before! And this rescue will be our biggest mission since… well, you know. I don’t want to mess anything up.”
Hordak smiled. “Your diligence is admirable. But I also seem to recall someone telling me that imperfections are beautiful.”
Entrapta stuck out her tongue. “No fair.”
“I’m afraid the science is sound. Come to bed, my dear.”
The scientist scoffed, but she did not protest when Hordak gathered her up in his arms. She wrapped more of her hair around him, and Imp settled sleepily in the resulting nest. Entrapta could already feel herself drifting.
“You will be a shining star tomorrow,” Hordak promised, as he carried his family back to rest.
“Tomorrow,” echoed Imp.
*
The next day saw the Crypto Castle’s largest meeting room filled with princesses, dignitaries, and other honorary Alliance members. While Scorpia and Perfuma admired the tiny refreshments laid out for everyone, Mermista split her time between groaning at Sea Hawk’s boasts and trying every available chair to find the most comfortable one. Glimmer and Bow stepped uneasily around the edges of the room, watching carefully for anything that might be a trap, and Frosta followed their lead. Netossa and Spinnerella tried their best to find a chair Swift Wind could sit in.
Adora and Catra, wearing increasingly baffled expressions, were conversing with two domestic-looking robots who sat at the head of the table next to Entrapta. One was tall and skinny, and the other wore a welded-on handlebar mustache.
“Entrapta has parents?” Catra was asking, her face a galaxy of disbelief.
“Adopted, technically. Or adapted,” the skinnier bot explained. “We’re Entrapta’s parental units. She built us when she was six. You must have seen the painting in the foyer.”
“Yeah, we’ve been here pretty much the whole time,” the mustachioed model added. “You kids sure made a racket during your last few visits. What was that all about?”
“Uh,” Adora faltered.
To her immense relief, Hordak swept into the room at that very moment, flanked by Imp, Emily, and the reprogrammed Horde drone Entrapta had dubbed ‘Skeletor.’
“Welcome, everyone,” Hordak boomed, bringing the gathering to a respectful hush.
“Witless fools! I’m in charge now! And if you know what’s good for you you’ll do as I say!” Skeletor shouted.
Hordak scowled and shooed the fussing robot away from the table. “Pay no mind to that one,” he grumbled once he’d regained the floor. “Now then. Please allow me the honor of introducing the unparalleled mind who has made this operation possible, Princess Entrapta.”
“Thank you all for coming!” Entrapta started, while everyone took their seats. “I know you’re all excited about what we’re planning, but there’s still a lot of preparation to do before we can take off. As the chief science officers for this mission, it’s vital that Hordak and I gather as much data on your abilities as possible! Interdimensional travel is severely unpredictable and —”
“Hold on,” Mermista interrupted. “Exactly how high are the chances of us getting mutated by cosmic space energy or whatever? Because I only want cool mutations, not gross ones.”
“Maybe thirty, thirty-five percent?” Entrapta guessed. She shrugged. “A lot of this is theoretical. You guys will be like my guinea pigs! By which I mean the small robotic animals in the castle I protect and care for. And experiment on, sometimes.”
She laughed heartily. Glimmer and Bow shared a nervous glance. Perfuma turned slightly green.
Entrapta regained her composure and pointed back to the display board. “Ahem. Anyway, the good news is we already know some things about where we’re going! Probably.” She shuffled her notes, gaining confidence as she spoke.
“Before Adora found the Sword of Protection, historians debated ancient records of She-Ra. Some claimed she was called ‘Her-Ra’ and fought for the ‘Power of Grayskull.’ But I theorize that what those archaeologists actually uncovered was evidence of —”
“I have a question!” Frosta yelled. “Will there be hunky guys in the other dimension? I’m asking for a friend.”
“It’s funny you mention that, actually,” Entrapta replied. “Listen, just let me finish and…”
Unfortunately, anxious impatience had already gripped the assembled Alliance members. They clamored with questions, all talking at the same time. Entrapta shrank back in her seat and pulled her welding mask down, seeming to reach for something under the table.
Hordak stood up. Just as it looked like he was about to do something violent, a loud alarm sounded and the lights in the room flashed red.
“Uh-oh.” Entrapta glanced around at the assembled company. “Um, get ready to tuck and roll everybody!”
“Get ready to what?” Mermista cried out, but it was already too late. Multiple trap doors swung open across the meeting room floor, and with flailing limbs and startled shouts the guests were sent tumbling down chutes in every direction. In moments they had all vanished.
“I always feel so much better after doing something bad!” Skeletor cackled. “Now we begin phase two!”
*
Adora and Catra, who had clung to each other as they fell, landed with a bump in a darkened, underground space. As soon as they arrived, bright lights flickered to life and a huge screen lit up against the wall.
Entrapta’s face appeared on the monitor, larger than life. “Oh good! You’re alive,” she chirped when she saw the other two.
Adora clambered to her feet. “Entrapta! What’s going on?”
The scientist glanced away. “Well, I guess Skeletor didn’t like that we were ignoring him. So he stole my map of the castle and activated the security systems! Which means we’re all lost in the labyrinth until I can catch him. Isn’t that great?”
“It’s something,” Catra groaned, rubbing her head.
“Exactly! Now, without my map I can’t come find you. But if you can make it through the traps, the hallway you’re in should take you back to the meeting room. Then you’ll be safe until I can fix things!”
The screen dimmed again before Catra or Adora could protest. Left with few other options, they turned to get a good look at whatever dangers lay ahead.
They were standing at one end of a long corridor. Square blocks floated along its length, suspended in midair with anti-gravitational tech. An interrogative punctuation mark flashed on one, while a squat robot with painted-on angry eyebrows shambled slowly back and forth beneath it.
Catra took it all in. “You have got to be kidding.”
Adora had already drawn her sword and begun to venture forward. Catra was about to follow her, when something made her ears flick. A suspicious frown crossed her face.
“Hey, Adora!” Catra called. “Listen!”
“What?”
Catra pressed her ear to the wall. “There! Do you hear that?”
“Obviously not,” Adora huffed. “Now stop dawdling, the first puzzle looks pretty easy.”
Catra stayed where she was. “Hold on a second. This part of the castle feels familiar. I remember walking through here back when, uh, back when it was still Horde territory.” She coughed awkwardly, and then reached up to tilt the frame of a big-eyed kitten painting. “Look!”
Something clicked and the wall slid open, revealing a new passageway. Distinctive laughter could be heard coming from the other end of it. A purple neon sign reading “Secret Entrance!!!” buzzed to life.
Adora sighed and rolled her eyes.
“One time Entrapta had me and Scorpia over for a life-size Snakemen and Ladders game that got a little out of hand,” Catra explained as they entered the tunnel. At the far end there was a brightly lit office; inside, it was filled with laboratory equipment, video monitors, and a humble but dignified desk.
Hordak was sitting at the desk, in what appeared to be a smaller version of his old Fright Zone throne. It swiveled. Entrapta was sitting on the desk, and she waved as the other couple entered.
“Myaah! Sleep gas and stun-rays only, my evil minions!” muttered Skeletor, who was busy working the video monitors. On closer inspection, Adora realized that each of them showed some of the other princesses as they traversed the castle labyrinth.
“Welcome to mission control!” Entrapta sang, spreading her arms wide. “Hordak didn’t think you’d find us, but I had a hypothesis you might.”
“It was a ruse!” Adora gasped, scandalized. “You’re not lost at all!”
“You really need to hang out with Entrapta more if that still surprises you,” Catra observed. She looked at the monitors. “Ah, are they gonna be okay?”
“Better than!” Entrapta sprang off the desk, hanging by her hair as she showed off multiple datapads. “Everyone was getting a little… distracted upstairs, so I just decided to speed things up a teensy bit! The princesses using their powers to escape the maze will let me get all the readings we need, and then we can have a nice little party! I had the baker make tiny cakes.”
“I made sure Hordak’s doomberry pie was especially tasty!” Skeletor piped up.
“And it’s all perfectly safe!” Entrapta promised. Discreetly, a ribbon of hair reached out to push a blinking button. On the monitors, Mermista and Sea Hawk were rescued from a robot shark attack by a convenient change of the currents.
“This is hilarious,” Catra laughed, looking more closely. On one of the screens, Swift Wind was gleefully running loop-de-loops along a curving racetrack. “I think they’re actually having fun in there. Can we stay and watch?”
“I’m afraid not,” Hordak said. She-Ra’s — and your — assessment is the most important of all. But we’d love to have you over to the castle for dinner soon. Shall we say eight o’clock next week?”
“That sounds nice!” Adora chimed, before Catra could stop her.
“Splendid. I’ll cook,” Hordak concluded. Then he pressed a button on his desk, and a trapdoor sent the younger women plummeting through the floor.
Catra and Adora yelped in surprise, only for their fall to be cut short by an enormous pile of pillows on the level below. They struggled to their feet. Another corridor stretched away in front of them, filled with further challenges. Floating gold coins, each about four feet tall, indicated a pathway.
“Try not to have too much fun,” Hordak called good-naturedly as the trapdoor slid shut.
“Use the warp zone! It’s faster!” Entrapta added.
“Have a nice trip down!” said Skeletor.
*
Hordak settled back in his chair (it had soft armrests, and a cushion for lumbar support) and watched his partner at work. Entrapta flitted from screen to screen, taking notes and making adjustments. On one display, Bow and Glimmer had met up with Netossa and Spinnerella while navigating a cage minefield. On another, Frosta was making an ice bridge to help Perfuma and Scorpia cross a slow-moving spike trap.
“I’m sorry you had to use your backup plan. They really are utter fools if they ever doubted your genius,” Hordak mused.
“Different people have different strengths and weaknesses,” Entrapta replied, without looking up from her work. “And a good scientist collaborates whenever they can! Even if that requires a little creativity sometimes.”
Hordak nodded. “Fair enough. Nevertheless, I would not blame you if you wished to have nothing more to do with the Princess Alliance. Even their attempts to help you can seem… insensitive. You’re not obligated to forgive that.”
Skeletor looked up from his control panel and shook a fist. “Don’t you get awfully tired of being a hero all the time? Don’t you ever feel like doing something evil?”
“They’re trying to be good friends,” Entrapta defended. “And so am I. And if I really did need their help, maybe things would be different. But I’ve got it all under control!”
She vaulted across the room, flipping switches and turning dials along the way. On the monitors, Perfuma’s fall from a tall platform was gently broken by a sudden anti-gravitational field.
“Besides, forgiveness isn’t always about the person being forgiven. It’s also about taking back potential energy that was lost.”
“Did you learn that in my brother’s therapy group?” Hordak asked.
Entrapta smirked. “Actually, he got it from me.”
A pleasant ding sounded and Entrapta clapped her hair. “Hooray, everyone made it back! I’ll calculate the high scores and then we can continue the social experiment!”
“You astonish me every day,” Hordak purred as he rose to follow her. Entrapta put out her hand, and he took it.
“Wait for me!” Skeletor cried out. “You might get lost by yourself!”
*
One week later, a much smaller gathering of royals met in Dryl.
Catra and Adora sat together in one of the Crypto Castle’s least intimidating dining rooms, listening with barely-contained delight as Entrapta’s parental units thoroughly embarrassed their former boss.
“...And so I said to him, ‘I have charging ports Hordak, can you download raw data offa me?’ Ha! Oh, you shoulda seen his face!”
Hordak slouched in his chair. “I do not think we need to bore our guests with the details of this particular story,” he protested, feebly.
“Oh, I’m not bored at all! I want to hear everything,” Catra said. She leaned forward, grinning. “So, was this before or after you hooked him up to the lie detector?”
Entrapta giggled, and gave Hordak a gentle pat on the shoulder as she reached for another helping of his tiny quiche. All things considered, the night was going surprisingly well.
It was exactly what Entrapta wanted.
After dinner, wheeled bots carted away the leftovers and dirty dishes. Hordak poured coffee for himself and Adora, and the parental units retired to wherever it was they lived in the cavernous castle. Entrapta, lost in thought as usual, felt a familiar feline presence approach her.
“Thank you,” Catra said, sincerely. “Not just for this. For everything. For being so nice all the time. For making this mission happen. It means a lot to me.”
Entrapta smiled softly. “To me, too. Everyone makes mistakes. It would be a shame not to learn from them when we can.”
“Did you say something?” Skeletor squawked, suddenly materializing in the doorway.
Entrapta, unbothered, immediately produced a datapad. “Oh we’re just talking about the big rescue mission! Actually, you should probably take a look at my data, Skeletor. I haven’t told you much yet, and we might need you!” She held the blinking screen out happily.
Skeletor looked at the datapad. At first he seemed confused; then he boggled as he registered the information in front of him. “Eternia?” he gasped in disbelief. “Grayskull?”
His voice rose to a fevered pitch. “He-Man!”
For once, Skeletor had no words. He shrieked incomprehensibly instead, fists shaking.
Hordak chuckled. “It’ll be just like the old days!”
Skeletor screamed.

the post is wrong about adoras motivations. it's when she sees tanks raining down on thaymor, a town she has seen first hand to be full of peaceful civilians, that she decides to stay with the rebellion. i think adora would do this regardless of whether she was she-ra or not.
Context: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/baggebythesea/680689557484732416
The post is about digging a bit below the surface of adora's motivation, so I'd say either conclusion is arguable.
You are completely right adora saw a wrong that needed righting (and that she clung as long as she could to the idea that this was just a single force captain's mistake or something, rather than indicative for how the Horde at large works).
But I think the post is onto something that the decision to jump in front of a tank came after finding the sword and hearing the whisper of a glorious destiny, after starting to befriend Bow and Glimmer (and meeting Horsie), and knowing there was at least a decent chance of both a glorious destiny and camradery beyond the Horde.
Which begs the question exactly how moral adora would have been without those things. I she never found the sword, never met Bow and Glimmer, but was lost in the woods until she was taken into the villagers of Thaymore. I agree with you that she'd probably still have stood up for them (and probably decided on a new glorious destiny for herself on the spot: adora, friend of horses, outlaw and protector of the weak). I'm absolutely sure she herself would want to believe that. But that's the stuff of fanfic and not something we've seen.
Either way, it's a neat comparisson between adora and, say, Lonnie (and Catra, of course), who never had the same ticket out of the Horde.

We need more anti C//A who are Adora stans (like you seem to be) so that people can understand that C///A is bad for Adora. Heck C//A is bad for Catra too, but the shippers don't seem to realize it. If Catra had been able to let Adora go maybe she could have healed instead of her festering and the abuse may have ended instead of escalated.
Hello Dear, welcome on my Blog and a big thank you for your message! Firstly I wanna apologize that this response is reaching you more than three full days, almost four later. Just real life getting into the way of my online presence (at least I got my A-Levels admission!) but I assure you that replying to you was on my To Do List the entire time. And while I could've typed something quick, I thought you deserved a full length response just as much as the person before you received. That goes for anyone really to ask/write me anything in the future.
Adora is a character that has flaws, her own interests, things she struggles with/is insecure about etc. but she also still works on being better (up to Season 5). This makes her relatable, fleshed out and overall three dimensional. Overall for me that makes Adora very likeable. Which is funny because when I first watched the show I thought of her as too goofy and felt like she as a character was overall just flat. Her character design did not speak to me either, the ponytail with the weird hair poof and these pointy shoulders of her jacket just really were not my taste. Isn't it amazing how perceptions can change?
As you can guess from that description I did not always stan Adora and she's probably still not my favorite character but over the almost two years I've been in this fandom I've grown rather fond of her. Other important characters to me are Kyle (a very relatable comfort character of mine, he learned to stand up for himself and others and I support that, f*ck Season 5 for barely acknowledging his existence), Lonnie (apart from treating Kyle badly (which I really do NOT support or excuse) I really love her, man, some women just do me like that, I mean she really stood up to Catra like that), Entrapta (I'm autistic too! It's great to have some representation, seeing the ableism/treatment she experiences in the show is not so much though), Seahawk (I don't even know why, I have some issues with his behavior towards Mermista at times but overall I love this dork), Scorpia (she reminds me of myself so much and I really wanna give her hugs, I'm so glad she chose to no longer let Catra treat her like that even though I will be forever salty she just immediately forgave her), Peekablue (I can explain this even less than Seahawk, especially since it was not even really him in the end but his existence somehow helped me cope with Season 5, without him I probably would've left this fandom ... and also my favorite color is blue) and Double Trouble (now there's enough people already critcizing how they're not exactly great Non-binary representation but this dramatic lizard will forever be in my heart, that reality check they gave Catra, basically slapping her in the face with facts was satisfying as h*ck, also I like lizards overall).
Now there's plenty of characters I like, dislike (or even hate) or am simply indifferent about but after all this is not a tier list but me talking about Adora, Catra and Catradora. Adora started off as this girl that was so sure what she was doing is right but once she was taught differently she was willing to leave everything she knew (except Catra, because she valued her despite everything) behind. And not only that, she broke out of the abuse cycle that Catra tried so hard to keep upright. And that is exactly what makes Adora such a good role model. She teaches children (or people) that:
Your past doesn't define what/who you are or what/who you can become
-> Adora used to be a Horde soldier and did not know where she came from, but nonetheless she found herself a family and became a hero that saved thousands of people
You can always change your mind and start a new life if you feel disappointed in what you are doing/who you are as a person
-> Basically the exact same point, Adora started a new life as she saw what the Horde really was and changed her mind about who to fight for
You deserve love too, be it platonic or romantic (or se*ual???) (If you're aro and/or ace just ignore the part that does not work for you)
-> While Adora for various reasons thought her only use was to please others and meet their needs and expectations (mostly due to Shadow Weaver and Catra) she learned to accept that she too deserves love and validation (if the love aspect would not have been focused on it being romantic love so she could smooch Catra in the finale this would've been a billion times better because she got love from her friends that showed her her real value)
You can walk away from something/someone, that does not make you egoistic/selfish
-> Adora walked away from the Horde, after Catra stubbornly refused to come with her despite many offers (basically Catra broke the promise, not Adora) from her too and that did not make her a "traitor" or "selfish", h*ck, Adora in the end did this for a bigger purpose too, even if part of it was her not wanting to live with such wrong morals
Your opinions, feelings etc. about a person/something can change and that is perfectly fine and valid, being able to change is part of what makes someone human
-> Adora's views on many things changed throughout the show: The Horde and the Rebellion, the First Ones, Catra, being She-Ra, herself, her priorities and so on ... she actually makes use of her brain, which is why Catra saying "Don't you ge it?" or calling her an idiot and dumb never sat right with me, she's a realistic character for shifting with her thoughts, feelings etc. and sometimes just does not fully think things through
You don't have to let other people treat you like sh*t (just because they have some issues they never worked through does not give them any right to let it out on you)
-> This point is obviously centered mostly around Catra and her abusing Adora almost every chance she gets, which is why Adora standing up for herself and not letting Catra blame her for her own decisions and mistakes is so important, "You made your choice, now live with it" is one of the most powerful lines throughout all the five Seasons
Now I'm sure there is still more to Adora's character than what I just listed and unfortunately almost all the points basically got pushed aside, well, Adora as a character got pushed aside in Season 5. All her growth, the things that made me love her, see her as great role model for so many people robbed of their value for the sake of making everything revolve around Catra. That brings me to her and how you are absolutely right that Catradora is harmful to both characters. Of course Adora is affected most by it in the end but Catra too is obviously suffering under the fandoms obsession and just the overall idea of them being romantically involved.
Just like with Adora the stans make almost everything about Catra over her relationship with Adora. She too can barely exist outside of it and if she wasn't the fan favorite she'd most likely would too be mostly in Fanarts that include Adora and not just her (if you google "Catra Fanart" most content is still Catra and Catra only but here and there Catradora still peaks through). But for whatever reason the fandom still views her more as her own person as the other ones? Catrouble and Scorptra Shippers might actually still get less hate than Glimmadora Shippers (I'm not denying they don't get any, they most certaintly do) which is just plain hypocricy and favorism. Kinda like the: A woman needs to be loyal to her husband and her husband only but if the husband wants to be active with other women that is perfectly fine because "that is just how men are" or how i like to call it ... sexism. Now in this case they are both women so it's not sexism but yo do get my point.
But much more importantly, Catra has an unhealthy obsession with Adora. Signs of that are for example:
Constantly talking about Adora, even when said person is not around (to Shadow Weaver, Scorpia etc.)
Obsessing over having control over Adora like in that one Episode "Are you kidding? I finally got control over Adora, I'm not giving that up!"
Building her entire character and her actions around Adora "We need to take Adora down", "Adora left me", "I'd rather see the whole world end than see you win!", also shown in Season 5 where she states she does save Glimmer only for Adora and not for Glimmer or to do the right thing
Getting aggressive or very emotional over Adora like clawing the wall, having nightmares etc. (destructive behavior towards herself and others)
Having no or barely any characteristics outside of her relationship with Adora like, we don't know her interests or likes and dislikes outside of being evil, obsessed with Adora, being abused by Shadow Weaver ...
Trying to force Adora to meet her needs and expectations regardless of Adora's owns
Sacrificing her oppurtunity to be happy in the Crimson Waste for the sake of her Adora obsession and being better than her at all costs
So yes, you were very right with saying that not putting Catra in a relationship with Adora would've benefited both characters. Catra could've learned to exist on her own, develop interests and a life outside of Adora. Learn to accept herself and eventually come to terms with her childhood abuse. She could've been free and not "the abusive cat girl that ended up with the person she unhealthily obsessed over to the point of no return" she kinda is now. Even if we ignore the whole "dating your long term abuser" part from Adora's side and "being rewarded" for horrible behavior, Catra alone is not giving a good example to people watching. As much as I dislike Catra, disdain her even, an ending where she is dependent on Adora, unable to stand on her own two legs after she led armies in war is not what I would wish for her, even with a decent redemption arc (that she did not get).
