Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am also going to explain everything here LOL So!
For the backdrop I am using a 1982 vinyl of the original London cast recording!
The music box was made to celebrate the 7000th performance of the Shiki production from 2008 I believe! It plays Skimbleshanks!
The Victoria statue is from Shiki production specifically the Tokyo run and I forgot to check but she’s from sometime between 2004-2009.
The stuffed animal I got at a show a few years ago!
The two dolls in the front are unofficial but I thought they were super cute!
The moon and little cats were just for fun and to fill space
And you might notice something out of place here…. The carousel horse!!! It is in no way actual cats merch but it’s a music box I found in a thrift store that happened to play memory! So I thought I’d add it just for fun! :3

Darren Criss and Cat Cohen Will Lend Voices to GWYNETH GOES SKIING in Edinburgh and Utah
Gwyneth Goes Skiing is headed to Edinburgh Fringe this August, and will also make its international premiere in Utah.
Darren Criss will provide the singing voice of Terry Sanderson alongisde Edinburgh Comedy Award Winning comedian, actress and singer Cat Cohen, who will lend her voice  as Gwyneth Paltrow on the vocal track with hits including I Wish You Well and See You In Court.
Darren Criss is best known for playing the role of Blaine Anderson in Glee (alongside the real  Gwyneth Paltrow!). In 2018, he was awarded Emmy and Golden Globe acting awards for his  leading role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Criss has also starred  on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Hedwig and the Angry  Inch.
Edinburgh Comedy Award-winner Cat Cohen’s live comedy performances combine stand-up  comedy with cabaret-style songs. The comedian, actress, and singer’s first Netflix comedy  special, The Twist...? She's Gorgeous, was released in 2022. As an actress, she has appeared on  comedy series such as High Maintenance, Broad City, Search Party, and What We Do in the  Shadows.
Criss and Cohen digitally join Trixie Mattel who makes a special on-screen appearance as  Gwyneth Paltrow’s mother, Blythe Danner. They are seen alongside the original Gwyneth Goes  Skiing cast - Linus Karp as the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously uncoupling Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow and Joseph Martin as her nemesis, Terry  Sanderson, a retired Optometrist from Utah.
The world debut of Darren and Cat’s voices will be back where it all began, Park City, Utah. The  now-infamous location of Terry Sanderson and Gwyneth Paltrow’s collision in 2016 will play  host to the US transfer of Awkward Productions and Pleasance Theatre’s runaway hit. Gwyneth  Goes Skiing’s transfer to The Egyptian Theatre marks the first international transfer for Awkward  Productions’ work.
Gwyneth Goes Skiing, which is a co-production between Awkward Productions  and the Pleasance Theatre, returns to the slopes after two sold-out and critically-acclaimed runs  in London. This silly play-with-music marks Awkward Productions’ return to the Fringe  after Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story had a sold-out run in 2023.
Gwyneth Goes Skiing recounts the collision in 2016 on the slopes of Deer Valley and the court  case seven years later that enthralled the world. This very silly story of justice, betrayal and  optometry makes the audience the jury, asking them to decide who's guilty and who's gooped.  Gwyneth Goes Skiing features a whole lot of fiction, a sprinkling of verbatim lines from court  transcripts and delightfully catchy original music by Leland (RuPaul’s Drag Race; Cher’s  Christmas; Troye Sivan’s Something To Give Each Other).
Performance Information The Egyptian Theatre, Utah  Thursday 16th – Sunday 26th May 2024  328 Main Street, Park City, Utah 84060 https://parkcityshows.com

Drawing sketches Gus from Cats, original London and original Broadway casting.
Original London Gus gives off a more sickly, fragile look of an elder. The lack of facial hair to me contributes to it, at least going by photos use for references (thanks Cats fandom wiki). Stephen Tate's narrow face shape (unless it's the photo angles) helps also.
Original Broadway Gus has a fuller, wider face. So to me, he appears more of an elder whose old age is getting to him slowly with each passing day. Stephen Hanan having facial hair (unless this Gus has it for his costume design) I think contributes to said thinking.

The Cast of Hamlet (1964) in Musicals: Part 1
This is a series of posts I've been meaning to make for a while. Despite the amusing backstage contrast with the cast of Little Me, many Gielgud-Burton Hamlet cast members either had or would go on to have experience in musicals. And I like musicals, so, here we go!
Richard Burton, of course, starred as King Arthur in Camelot. He won a Tony for the original production, and reprised his role twenty years later. There's a decent amount of video footage of him in the show:
youtube
This video, of the title song, is part of a project reconstructing Julie Andrews's scenes with video, photos, and a bootleg audio. The video starts at 2:21.
youtube
In this one, Burton dances!
youtube
This tribute to Lerner and Loewe was filmed after Burton left Camelot, but had him recreate his monologue at the end of Act 1. The Camelot segment starts at 14:59. At 33:10 Burton talks about how actors deal with nerves and does a bit of The Tempest, and at 45:25 he talk-sings the title song from Gigi and then goes right into a tiny bit of "I Could Have Danced All Night" with Julie Andrews.
youtube
And this is the final scene from the 1980 revival.
As far as I know, Camelot was the only musical Burton did in full, but he recorded one of Watson's songs from Baker Street, the Sherlock Holmes musical:
youtube
It's not even talk-singing, it's just talking over music. Burton could sing, he was no Robert Goulet but he certainly got by in Camelot, so dunno what happened there.
Speaking of not singing, John Gielgud! I don't think he was ever in a musical, but he did co-narrate an audiobook of the poems that became Cats:
youtube
It was recorded in 1983 and Cats had opened in London in 1981, so maybe it was an attempt to capitalize on the show's success? Anyway, enjoy hearing John Gielgud saying Jellicle names!

Moon Knight Mystery Swap
This is my gift for @belablue222!
This is a bit of an experimental piece, it's been a while since I last wrote prose in English and it's also the first time writing a proper reader insert fic. There are actually a handful of first-times in it, I had fun challenging myself to craft this little story and I hope you like it!
Thank you @tiptapricot for this opportunity!!
The Little Gift
Word count: 1785
Rating: G
Original prompt: any one of the boys trying to find a gift for one of they’re family members (can b their child, a s/o, a friend they consider family)
Notes: subtle argentinian!Jake, platonic, fluff, some spanish
----
A choir of high-pitched meows filled the silence of the early morning as mommy cat stood up from her wooden basket and walked softly towards her water bowl. The kittens tried to climb the edges and follow her, especially a daring tabby that even walked over its siblings to be the first to venture into the still largely unknown world.
Upon entering the living room, you noticed only the last of the four kittens was still struggling to get out of its bed. As soon as the entire exploration party gathered around the mama cat, she softly purred and gently licked their heads and muzzles.
This was the first time they had all ventured out of the basket on their own. Your cat raised her head towards you, and in her yellow eyes you could see she was proud of them. Her little curious furballs, ready to get a larger taste of the world around them.
Ready to meet a new family to love each one of them, you hoped, as you knew you wouldn't be able to provide the care and attention five cats deserve. You had posted an adoption notice a few days before, but you hadn't heard any news about potential adoptees yet.
As you moved to the kitchen to prepare a cup of tea, the doorbell rang, igniting a spark of hope in your heart that might have been someone looking for a kitten rather than yet another door-to-door salesman. You opened the door to find a man in his late thirties, who greeted you by raising his flat cap with his gloved right hand
“Hola” he said with a smile, his moustache adding to the warmth. “Busco un gatito. A kitten”
Even while speaking English, the stranger retained a distinct Spanish accent. Although familiar with the language from your extended family, you couldn’t exactly pin those few words to a specific dialect for now. Latino, certainly, which wasn’t the most common sight in this part of London.
You greeted the stranger back with a smile, introducing yourself as your hand met his strong grip.
“Jake” he said “Jake Lockley.” He didn’t seem like a man of many words, but there was this calm and gentle vibe around his demeanour casting a stark contrast to his somewhat gruff appearance.
You invited him inside for a cuppa. He gently brushed his shoes on the doormat before entering as you headed back to the kitchen to put some more water into the kettle.
The adventurous tabby scurried toward the newcomer while its mother wasn’t looking and let out a cute little “miii”, attempting to sound threatening despite its small size. Jake smiled and removed one of his gloves, crouching down as close to the kitten’s height as he could, allowing it take a good sniff of his hand.
The mother cat immediately rushed forward, calling the tabby back. She licked it twice on the head and then cautiously sniffed the newcomer herself. Jake did the same gesture with the hand so the mother could know his scent too, before she sat a few cat-sized steps back and stared intensely at him while the kitten rejoined the rest of the litter. She accepted him but remained watchful.
You observed the scene from the corner of your eye while pouring hot water into the cups, remarking on how Tabitha must have taken a liking to him, considering she typically hisses at strangers at least twice before calming down—especially now that she had a litter.
“I have a way with people. And not” he joked, engaging in a playful staring contest with the mommy cat.
As you finished brewing your tea and began pouring it into the cups, Jake approached the table opposite to where you stood and sprawled comfortably on the chair, gently pulling the tea cup towards himself. You asked him if he had seen the adoption flyer– it was somewhat rhetorical, as he must have known about it from somewhere, but you were curious about which location worked best.
“Mi amigo Crawley did” he replied, softly blowing on his tea “It’s a gift for a child. I thought it was a way to teach them how to be responsable, you know? Caring for an animalito”
His expression seemed to soften up as he spoke, with a certain spark in his eyes that you often saw in enthusiastic parents, guardians or close relatives. You smiled and acknowledged his sweet gesture, prompting a wide smile to spread across Jake’s face. The validation seemed to bolster his confidence in choosing the right gift.
You continued the conversation, informing Jake that the kittens had already been to the vet for their proper check-ups. As the cups were drained and the conversation drew to a close, it was finally time to get to know the kittens.
Both of you rose from the table and made your way to the living room, where the kittens were playing with each other or with their mom’s tail, despite her not being extremely impressed by it and looking like she was barely tolerating their constant nibbles and paw slaps for the sake of her litter.
The tabby that approached him earlier was the first one to turn its head towards Jake, followed by the white one, while the tortoiseshell and the black kitten stopped chasing their mom’s tail and ran inside the safety of their basket.
“Hey” Jake softly said, extending his hand towards the white kitten so it could get to know him too. However, it appeared notably shyer than the tabby and immediately leaped away, tail up and back curved as if he was ready to retreat to safety at the slightest movement from the stranger. Sensing the kitten's uneasiness, the mother cat approached with a low-pitched purr, comforting the kitten with a couple of licks before fixing a direct gaze on Jake.
Jake turned to you, his lips curved in a silent ‘oops!’, but you assured him he had done nothing wrong as the white kitten was not the shyest of the litter but neither the bravest one. You also mentioned you haven’t named any of the kitten yet, at first you were just running dry of cool names and no one you could find in online lists fit them, then you decided it’d have been better to let the honour to the future adopters.
Jake nodded twice. He was trying to voice his agreement with you when a sudden feeling akin to piercing needles on his left leg distracted him from finishing his sentence – courtesy of the tabby cat attempting to climb onto him.
“Oye, boludo!” he exclaimed in surprise, gently grasping the kitten with his hands and lifting it to eye level. “You truly are a fearless one, aren't you?” Jake remarked, to which the kitten responded with a screeching “miiiii” almost immediately.
However, you observed that the mama cat was nervously twitching her tail and she seemed to be ready to jump at Jake for touching one of the kittens, probably hesitating before attacking him just because she saw you were still in good terms with him. It was probably best not to unsettle her further by handling the kittens so freely in front of her.
Recognizing the cue, Jake nodded and gently placed the tabby back down. The mother cat promptly seized the tabby by the back of the neck and pulled it closer to the basket before positioning herself nearby, keeping a vigilant watch over the situation between the two of you.
You reassured Jake not to take it personally, explaining that Tabitha was simply being protective of her kittens. You noted that if she truly perceived him as a threat, she would have reacted more severely than just moving the kitten a few steps away.
“I liked that guy” Jake remarked, his accent oddly shifting to sound more American than before. You assumed accents might sound funny from time to time when someone’s bilingual and didn’t put further thought on the matter. Instead, you asked if the tabby was his final answer, casually quoting an old quiz show on the telly.
“It’s funny” he chuckled “I came here to choose a kitten, but el gatito o gatita chose me first”
You smiled and took it for a yes, then asked Jake if he had a carrier with him or needed a box for the journey, you were pretty sure you still had a spare one you could lend him in case.
“have one in my tacho” he replied, standing up and stretching his legs a bit “I’ll be right back”
As Jake went outside, you swiftly grabbed a plate and a little can of Tabitha’s favourite wet food from the kitchen counter and called her to your bedroom, so to not get her too stressed while handling the tabby cat for Jake. She seemed to have recognised the can in your hand and eagerly followed you, nearly leaping at the meaty bites before you even began to take them out of the can. You then stepped outside, taking a peek through the crack of the door so to check she wasn’t suddenly following you out. Seeing Tabitha calm and happily purring over her food, you left her to enjoy it as you returned to the living room.
Jake stood at the door with a black and green carrier laid open beside him, waiting for you. You approached the basket and gently picked up the kitten as you’ve did a thousand times – but this once, you were feeling a bit emotional. Giving the tabby one last tender look, you wished it the best with its new family, planting a soft kiss on its head before gently guiding it into Jake’s carrier. He fumbled a bit with the closing pins and you stepped in to assist.
“There you are” he said, observing the kitten through the grating “soy a little nervous, we’ve never had a pet other than Steven’s goldfish”
You asked if ‘Steven’ was Jake’s son. He turned to you wearing a puzzled yet mildly amused expression on his face.
“Oh, no, no. He’s my, uh, brother”
You nodded, then reassured him cats weren’t exceedingly difficult pets and once got the hang of it the effort was very well repaid with a ton of fluffy cuddles. You gave Jake a brief on some basics and a bit of kitten-specific pet food.
“Thank you!” he said “I should go now, or we’ll be late to the kid’s party”
You helped him securing the carrier in the cab and then bid farewell, wishing the best to all of them – Jake, the kitten, and the fortunate child who was going to have an amazing surprise later.

Do you know why they didn't record an album with the original Broadway cast of POTO? Cats has one
Well, I suppose for one thing, the London and Broadway casts of Cats are completely different (I think - there's a lot of cast members in Cats) whereas for Phantom, the three leads are all played by the same people in both productions. I can see producers thinking it's just not worth the time or the effort to get the leads back into the recording studio, even if the supporting and ensemble cast are different, nor would it generate that much interest or revenue when released, for the same reason.
But also, there's this interesting rumor that I kept hearing back in the old days and nobody has disputed it, even though I keep saying that I don't even know if it's true, and it's something like... there can be no full English-language cast recording so long as any member of the original trio (Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, and Steve Barton) are alive. Supposedly that's why all the English-language cast recordings are highlights or a single song, with the 2004 movie getting away with it because it's a movie soundtrack and the 25th anniversary scooting by because they're a concert recording. So I don't know, maybe that's a reason!
But I think the first is probably a bigger factor.

@theluckoftheclaws said: How do you determine the right animal [for a character's dæmon] (genuine question)
You have unleashed levels of autism the likes of which the world has never seen, jsyk!
Dæmons are not really "this character is sarcastic and lithe and finnicky so they'd be symbolized with a cat". Dæmons are largely determined by their role and symbolism in *art*, and what art it's drawn from depends on where in the story Lyra is. It also depends on their role in the story as a character somebody invented for a purpose. They say that dæmons are your soul that reveals your inner nature, but that's in-universe conjecture. One widely accepted as fact, but one that the narrator never fully claims is true. It's important to remember that characters are tools in a story, and dæmons are signifiers of that role, much in the same way that medieval paintings depicted animal companions alongside humans, to evoke a cultural, spiritual and historical context. To quote Pullman himself: don't make a metaphor do the work of a fact.
For example, in the medieval Oxford, the dæmons all take the form of animals that would have been known to medieval scholars, and their implications carry their symbolic meanings of the time. Jordan college is full of ravens, moths ermines, cats, hawks, setters, and serpents-- and also there are a few creatures, such as basilisks and small dragons-- that would have been imaginary to us but very real to medieval scholars. The only dæmon not of European origin is Lord Asriel's dæmon Stelmaria, who is in the form of a snow leopard,  evoking Asriel's infatuation with the North and giving us a subtle clue about the fact that he fits poorly in Jordan society. It's not until Lyra meets Mrs. Coulter and goes to London that the variety of dæmons expands, and when it does it expands into the art of the rennaissance and Flemish art. Pugs, parrots, monkeys, and butterflies are found in London. When Lyra travels north, she meets people with wolf and snow goose and snowshoe hare dæmons.
Ermines represent young girls born into nobility and their spiritual purity, so Lyra, who is innocent and nobleborn, often has Pantalaimon in the shape of an ermine. The fact that weasels are considered sneaky liars (as Lyra is) comes secondary to me, in my personal opinion. The servants in The Golden Compass are described as all having dog dæmons, because Lyra's world operates on a strict hierarchy of class, and the Butler and Chamberlain are all servants of a story, not really fully-fleshed characters in their own right. Conversely the characters like Asriel and Coulter have very "noble" animals associated with high class and exoticism: the aforementioned snow leopard and golden monkey. Dæmons are also amoral-- they don't indicate heroism or villainy. If Pullman made every bad guy's dæmon an animal that we have negative association with, loaded them with snakes and bugs, then everyone in the world could immediate clock who a "bad person" is just by the shape of their dæmon, and life just does not work like that.
If you want to choose a dæmon for a character, you have to take into account the genre you're working in. Poetry (The creator of the Dæmorphing series) utilizes a more scientific approach, matching characters' dæmons to observed animal behavior and biology. This works very well for Animorphs fanfiction, which has a huge emphasis on zoology and the natural talents and traits of animals... and very little to do with art and history and fantasy. But if your work is more on the historical or fantasy side, I'd suggest looking into the symbolic meanings of animals in specific cultures and periods of time to inform your choices. This historical and cultural context is why I'd find it ludicrously difficult to make dæmons for, say, the Star Wars cast, because all the animals in that universe are Imaginary, and even the ones based on real-life animals lack the social+historical+cultural context of dæmons. So I could give them earth animals, but is that immersion breaking? Probably. Same goes for Pokémon.
This level of involvement and research and intertext is usually too complicated for your average ao3 chud though, so you open a fic and you're more than likely to see dæmons pulled from a pool of the same 15 or so animals. So many wolves.... so many big cats........
If it's a series and character i'm familiar with, i'm more than willing to offer suggestions for potential forms! I literally possess several bestiaries and books on animal symbolism.

some stuff i read and watched in september:
my brilliant friend (s1-3): had a bit of ferrante fever and rinsed through this, i think it's v well done as an adaptation -- it's been so long since i read the first couple of books that the casting of the lads made them feel much more vivid than i remembered, also i Need to go to florence
foundation (s2): honestly entertainment peaked with deranged space emperor clone lee pace spitting blood in ben daniels' face and snarling i fucking love it, hope to see it back in 2-3 years probably!
the gold: finally got around to this bc they were talking about it on the watch lol, very cool the way it sort of sprawls out from the original heist and just keeps going, classic dcoop sketchiness, still mulling over casting jack lowden as lymond bc what other blonde scottish actors even are there
starstruck (s3): ROSE MATAFEO FOREVER etc. this season pretty much an anti-romcom which i'm on board with, the friendship stuff fucked me up, not to get into but phew re: being single in your thirties while all your friends are having kids etc
passages: really liked this but somehow didn't love it quite as much as i expected to, franz ben adele perfect, whishaw really come full circle since basically playing the franz role in cock at the royal court lol, beautiful knitwear outfits homewares
the best years of our lives: like 3 hours long but doesn't feel it, quietly devastatingly empathetic story of returning ww2 veterans, i need to watch the five come back series on netflix bc william wyler is so so good
a haunting in venice: i would also like to go to venice, kenbran's having fun at least my dutch angle king, i hope they keep letting him make these forever although i also rewatched tenet and nothing here tops the part where he jogs slowly backwards through time
the broken hearts gallery: the best of a bunch of recent-ish romances i watched, geraldine viswanathan is a Star
michael clayton: somehow hadn't seen this before but very satisfying like corporate thriller, tom wilkinson and tilda are great, i want to rewatch andor now
elena ferrante, the story of the lost child: finally finished the neapolitan novels, fuck me up elena. can't think of a comparable series of like adult novels that go this hard for me, maybe st aubyn? yowl
colin walsh, kala: this ripped actually, loved like the irish specificity of the voices
james frankie thomas, idlewild: literally took critical damage every time i had to read the word HoYay but this was great and painful about like being a horrible little queer teenager and codependent friendships and livejournal and annotated fanfiction etc
marilynne robinson, gilead: ow i loved this, i think it's a real skill to make like goodness compelling, looking forward to being devastated by the rest of the series etc
sylvia townsend warner, lolly willowes: 🧙‍♀️🍂🌝
katie kitamura, intimacies: more things should be set at the courts in the hague tbh! made me think about translation a lot and also black earth rising
cat sebastian, we could be so good: sometimes you just want to read a gay romance about being in love with your best friend innit
operation mincemeat: omg i actually went to the theatre, this was silly and very much The British Hamilton but i loved it and i cried and i ordered drinks to my seat, 5 stars etc
the effect: i didn't see the original billie piper staging but i love lucy prebble and i loved this cast, literally paapa essiedu can do anything, kobna holdbrook smith reminded me that i should carry on with the rivers of london audibooks, one in a long list of signs that i should probably talk to someone about my mental health lol

Ok, but can i just take a moment to talk about how amazing Susan Jane Tanner is? She was in the Original London Production of cats in 81 as Jellylorum then she was in the 98 film. She, along with Femi Taylor and Elaine Paige, was part of the OG cast that returned. I don't think she gets nearly enough recognition for that.

Meet the Cast 1:
The Roommates:
Seph lives in a 5-bed apartment with six other tenants, they're able to cobble together enough to the abhorrent Columbus rent with their combined incomes.
Tumblr media
From upper left to lower right: Brynn, Caleb, Seph, Becca, Nicky
Roommate Character Sheets:
Becca Hardy
Allie Stafford
Brynn Malloy
Luke Lehman
Caleb Joyle (no sheet yet)
Nicky Idrissi (no sheet yet)
Tumblr media
Becca is Seph's best friend, and has been since they were assigned roommates in college. She was born in London and has a naturally thick accent that she actively suppresses since she moved to Wisconsin in High School. No one knows she has an accent, not even her step-sister Nicky. She took up burglary from her father, and has been moonlighting as the Black Cat for over almost a decade.
She works as a security guard to help cover rent.
[Nicky sheet]
Nicky is Becca's step-sister, ever since their parents got married around the same time they moved to Wisconsin. She is the reason Seph and Becca ended up in Columbus after college, inviting them to join her at a new place she was moving too.
She is a graphic designer for a milk company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Allie is a jovial, charismatic grad student. She is arguably the only "normal" person in the whole apartment. Though, the normalcy of a person willing to do deep ocean dives to take geological surveys should definitely be questioned. She rooms with Brynn, and the two of them are near inseparable. She spends most of her scant free time tending to her hydroponics.
Allie is unemployed, but grows weed and assists with Brynn's scams to make a bit on the side.
Brynn is a stoic, smooth talking twig of a woman. She is the tallest member of the friend group, as her parents were obsessed with the status of having a "designer baby" but could only afford increased height. Brynn is a fashion school graduate, but has struggled to land any jobs.
Brynn is unemployed, but performs various scams such as tarot readings to cover her part. She is very good at it.
Tumblr media
Luke is one of the original tenants of this apartment, having lived with Caleb for several years before the rest of the current motley crew moved in. He spends his time coming up with the most trend-chasingest, tech-broest, stupidest ideas you can imagine and investing everything he currently has into that idea, only inevitably fail. His personal enemy is Seph, mostly because he loves Becca.
He contributes nothing to rent, as Caleb covers for him.
[Caleb Sheet]
Caleb is the longest tenant living in this apartment, despite being the youngest of them. He never went to college, instead he immediately started work in trade and labor jobs out of High School. He would probably have enough to buy a house if he didn't constantly cover for Luke and get suckered into Luke's terrible ideas. He's the only person in the apartment who can afford a car.
Caleb is currently working as an electrician.
The Workplace:
Seph works at Iliad's Reclamation and Fabrication, a salvage shop that turns scrap into various tools and other useful items--notably mobility aids. She models and fabricates using pirated Stark tech.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Old Man, is a renown figure in the local community, and has become someone that people can rely on to help wherever is needed. His daughter, Danna, is more abrasive, but still will always extend a hand to help anyone in need. The two of them plan to surprise Seph with the idea to adopt her at her next birthday.

According to the conversations Piter has been having with his boss hereabouts, he has a job as a cast member at the London Dungeons. His standard of living on an actor's salary is alarmingly below what it was as a high ranking political figure, back home. But he still has... some disposable income. A handful of change. He's still figuring out what to do with it. He could afford gym membership. Going to a gym is one of the things he could afford to do. If he let go of a couple other things he might want to do. Ugh. This is awful.
He walks into a gym he's walked by a few times while exploring the city. He doesn't like the idea of losing his edge just because he's employed as a silly actor now, and not a Mentat assassin. But part of him also doesn't like the idea of staying fighting-fit for... who, exactly? Was it ever for himself? He was shaped into a tool for the Empire, and he deeply resents it. What could life look like if his body and mind meant more than what they could do for people? Does Piter, the individual, want a gym membership?
Well, he doesn't really know. So that's why he walks into the gym.
He's in the middle of preparing his friendliest face for that person at the desk who's going to try and sell him a gym membership whether he wants it or not. Then a Fremen woman casually emerges from the depths of the gym and heads his way, casually on her way out of the gym until she sees him too.
Is he sure she's Fremen? Not completely. But his intuition says it's probably so. She has to be. Spoiled off-world spice gluttons like him are just fundamentally more... pompous and frivolous; also like him. This woman walks like a tiger. He backs away from her like a kitty cat. What must she see, when her total blue eyes meet his? To her, even if she doesn't read him as Harkonnen, he must be a terrible and presumptuous foreigner, soaked in spoils clawed from her world and people! And all of that is true, really!
Tumblr media
"H-hello!" he stammers. "Your eyes are so striking... forgive me if I overstep, but could it be true that we come from the same world of origin? It's the 'spice' that does that, no? How cool! M-my name is Piter, what's yours?"
