Genuine curiosity: why would you expect to see Trump et al names with ACD's?
Oh, just thinking in terms of what kinds of shitty people wind up in which breed communities? Cattle dogs have a big old "rural, blue-collar, masculine, Western" association in the US, and one that tends to skew white at that: in some ways, they otherwise occupy a similar niche to pit bulls, but one that is pretty white-coded. This is a comforting kind of image for shitty right-wing people to pick up, especially if they want to be perceived as super masculine. Right-wingers often adopt the mythos of working-class rural people even if they're actually much more urban and affluent than that, partly to cloak how much they suck billionaire dick. They're the kind of dog I could see a Texas GOP politician on a campaign trail picking up if he wanted to engage in a particularly cynical kind of ploy.
It's not that this kind of stuff is everywhere in ACDs, but it's always worth keeping in mind what kinds of people are drawn to the "image" any given breed puts out, including the shittier kinds. (Honestly, implicit in that comment's context, talking to @doberbutts who has frequently discussed the tendency for Nazis to be drawn to Dobes, was the comparison to his breed communities' own brand of shitty people.)

Stitch GoFundMe
Hi, I’m Chelsea. My baby Chihuahua Stitch was accidentally scratched by my [blind] dog and now he has to have his eye removed.
I’m raising funds to help with the cost of surgery and aftercare.
Stitch was the runt of his litter that was abandoned under the neighbor’s trailer. I successfully rehomed all pups and kept him. He’s 5 years old and has a lot of life left!
Anything helps! We appreciate you!

For the ask game, Australian Cattle Dog?
So, here's how a cattle dog would happen. I would have a nice respectable puppy from a nice respectable breeder all lined up. The pros-cons ratio would be perfectly calculated. Then I would see some random cattle dog on Facebook with a temperament description I can't get out of my head. Within a matter of days, I would chuck my ten year plan out the window and drive an embarrassing amount of time to go pick the dog up.
I was raised by a corgi, which has conditioned me to like dogs that are smug assholes. It is what it is. They would be a huge pain in my ass but also my soulmate, probably. Intensity, devotion, and intense devotion are surefire ways to win me over. Not to mention that my hyperactivity would sync with their hyperactivity in perfect ADHD harmony.
It would open up my world to have a dog that helped me feel safe. I'd like to think that we'd go on so many adventures that aren't possible now. Night time walks. Camping without other humans around. Maybe even sleeping in the car on road trips. I would definitely try my hand at herding with them, and a variety of other sports. We would have a lot of fun together, no doubt about that.

I don't think I ever posted the news here, but we rescued a third dog in February! Rockwell the red heeler (on the right). =) Maverick *left) and Zephyr (middle) like him, but Rockwell was abused and neglected upon being rescued and the first rescue home he went to took in problem dogs and their German Shepherd beat Rockwell up all the time. He was there for a year before they finally decided they had to rehome him for his sake. We adopted him and he's very skittish and if Zeph or Mav bump into him or come up behind him fast and Rockwell doesn't notice, Rockwell lashes out and starts a fight. He's very defensive and Zeph and Mav don't understand why he acts that way. He's getting better though and has already come a long way. I knew rehabilitating him would be a long road, but I give him a good year or two and I think he'll be a calmer and happier pup.

quietly screaming at the number of people on the ACD reddit who are like "well I want a cattle dog but I work so the dog would be home alone 6-8h per day, is there any hope?"
Y'all. Y'ALL. They're DOGS. They sleep 16h a day. Are you gonna dedicate a chunk of your 8h a day you're not working or sleeping to doing something interactive with the dog? Yeah? Great, you'll probably be fine then.
The pissing contests are my least favorite part of that sub by a long, long shot.

"Happily your Caradhras has forgotten that you have Dogs with you," said Doctor, who came up at that moment. "And doughty Dogs too, if I may say it; though men with spades might have served you better. Still, we have thrust a lane through the drift; and for that all here may be grateful who cannot run as light as Elves."

I Always Know How to Get a Treat.
If there is one think I know I have done well, it is that I have trained one of my dads to know when I need, or more correctly, want a treat. When my dads are eating their meal at the kitchen table and they have finished without giving me taste of their meal, I gently lay my head on my dad’s lap (this is the dad I have trained the best) and look up at him. With a little whining, in a very few…
