random thought i had in the shower tonight: what if reonagi ends up like rin and sae

also another long post sorry i have a lot to say LMAO

FIRST OFF, we have the reason why each respective duo starting playing soccer together 

rin pulled off some wild ass trick, catching sae’s attention.

and of course, every bllk duo’s famous last words “play soccer with me”

i know its football IM AMERICAN FUCK OFF

and reo and nagi started for scarily similar reasons. nagi did some wild ass trick and it caught reo’s attention, and now they started soccer as a duo. and those motherfucking famous last words LETS PLAY SOCCER ???? MFS PLAYING WITH MY FEELINGS INSTEAD

rin and sae were INCREDIBLE, just like reo and nagi. they made headlines, they were THE duos to fuck with in their respective times together. they had a whole future ahead of them. and their playstyles are kinda similar too

rin relied on instinct, trusting his brother to send passes his way. nagi simply follows reo’s orders and follows his lead, trusting that reo will send him passes. 

rin and sae are very tactical and smart players. they position players where they’re needed and execute perfect passes suited to their styles. they’re both smart and resourceful. recently, reo’s been gaining the physical strength to help himself too, just how sae is agile and quick. and reo can copy sae’s playstyle now too.

now onto the juicy stuff, the good shit, the pussy of this post

sae was presented with an opportunity for growth. real madrid. spain. we know the drill with sae and (s)pain. he moved away to become a better player, leaving rin behind in japan. 

nagi was presented with the same thing. except instead of spain- it was the goat himself isagi yoichi. and he left reo behind in the second selection

AND THEY BASICALLY SAID THE SAME THING

reo and rin obviously started using sae and nagi as motivation to get stronger. reo in the second selection and on and rin just in general. they had the hopes that once they met again, they’d be able to play beside each other again. 

but oh boy

backs turned to them and everything man what the fuck

but rin and reo NEEDED this. they were too dependant on their partners to properly use their full potential. reo relied too much on nagi’s skill to focus on his own talents. rin was so ready to be in sae’s shadow even though he was so talented at the game. they were too dependant. they needed this to grow as individuals. 

rin obviously 💀 developed a grudge against sae. reo developed resentment as well, but he wasn’t so intense about it as rin (which is fair considering rin started soccer because of watching sae play all this time)

reo and rin were also lowkey selfish about this as well (again, understandable i’d be sick as fuck if any of this happened to me) in the second selection, much to chigiri and kunigami’s dismay, he was ready to NOT pick nagi just so nagi could feel the same pain he felt. rin joined blue lock just to win and join the u20 team to play against his brother. rin was only focused on his endgame, he clearly didn’t care about who he had to step on to get there. 

i know yall see it too and im not fucking crazy

rin, becoming the selfish player that he is, was able to fight on his own. reo was also slowly able to become an independent player as well. it’s been an UPHILL battle for him tho (i mean this respectfully i love u reo mwah)

and both of them were able to notice the growing gap between their respective partners when they meet again

like i mentioned earlier, the two of them NEEDED this. badly. reo was too dependant on nagi and vise versa, rin was too attached to sae. he was willing to stay behind sae, in his shadow. reo and rin couldn’t advance and develop properly while staying with sae and nagi. neither of them had the proper HUNGER to be the best like nagi and sae and it bit them in the ass hard.

when the duos met AGAIN, u20 and manshine v bastard, it severed the rift permanently. sae widened the gap between him and rin (personally, not in the context of soccer), further pushing him away and (indirectly ??? directly ??? who knows) motivating rin further. 

the way rin’s eyes lit up here :(

rin developed that urge to MURDER on the field while reo is still willing to stay behind nagi. 

meanwhile, nagi didn’t widen the gap like sae did. nagi went back to reo, and reo took him back (me too bby)

the itoshi bros HAD this bond. they truly did share the dream of becoming the best strikers in japan. 

rin and sae WERE equals to each other. until time apart and skill level created such a gap between them. sae had matured, grown as a player, and his outlook had changed. (look at my sae n rin post if you wanna hear more of my thoughts about that) anyway, rin was still young, naive, and inexperienced (in terms of the world) and still believed in him and sae’s dream. somewhere in spain, sae discarded that dream. SERIOUSLY WTF HAPPENED IN SPAIN

the reason why i think this might end badly for reonagi is because the itoshi brothers were able to grow independently, at the cost of their bond, and strive to become the best in the world.

reo doesn’t quite have that drive yet. yes he wants to be the best, but he wants to be the best WITH NAGI. rin wants to stand alone on that stage, crushing his brother and getting his revenge in the process. reo is perfectly fine than sharing the stage.

which is NOT what blue lock is about 😭

look at the difference in their ‘dream’ and the reasons rin and reo call blue lock a stepping stone

back then, rin was like reo. he was content with staying in sae’s shadow the same way reo is content with being in nagi’s. rin was able to overcome that because of sae’s cruelty and harshness in their fallout. now, rin wants to be the best ON HIS OWN.

in comparison, nagi wasn’t as tough on reo as sae was rin, which i think was nagi’s mistake. like i mentioned in my itoshi brothers rant post, i think sae chose to be harsh and cold like that because he knew it would motivate rin to make his own name. as much as reo says he wants to be independant and not rely on nagi, the fact nagi CAME BACK and reo TOOK HIM BACK which could ironically hurt reo (and nagi)

it might not end well for reonagi again if they keep this up. especially since reo disregarded his new ‘independant’ ideal so fast after getting back together with nagi. 

ANYWAYS thats pretty much it i hope i didnt miss anything cause i jumped on here to make this post as soon as i got out of the shower i blew my own mind fr LMFAOOO

Never been more glad im asian and spend most time on this side of the fandom. Things here are so wack, i would never expect to hear them if i dont use tumblr, twitter or reddit. And lmao, if they are butthurt about copaganda, they should never watch meitantei conan. That show is full of detectives and police officers as the core cast, you don't even remember dirty ones because there are so few of them. And its been going for 20 years and is one of japans biggest franchise (defeated even

Avengers endgame in japans domestic box office). And its huge in other neighbor countries too. Now it even has a spin off with the police academy setting and the main cast are police officers in training. Like, yall, they dont have that much against their police force. Im curious what conan fans reaction would be if the series get noticed by crazy woke culture and made into sth like "a prime example of how copaganda has brainwashed japanese views on reality". Imma laugh my head off.

Man, the Asian side sounds a lot cooler then the Western one... though I have only heard about the good and I’m pretty sure it’ll have it’s downsides too, just not as insane as the fandom on tumblr.

God, I love Detective Conan. I sadly fell behind but I watched up to around episode 700 before life caught up to me and I couldn’t find the time to watch anymore. But yeah, the BNHA fandom would hate it because of how it portrays cops in a positive light. They would probably even ignore how Conan is working alongside a former criminal (technically) too and just try to paint the cops and Conan in a bad light.

It just shows that issues faced by the western fandom aren’t always faced by others. What I think other people fail to remember too is that people who create shows about cops and add a more positive spin on them aren’t doing it because they want to brainwash people, They most likely just think cops are cool which is why some of the bigger issues we see in real life police aren’t written about, because they’re not what the author thinks the police should be. Police in these types of media usually portray what an ideal cop should look like usually. So while it can be great when shows/anime/manga adress the actual issues in the system, it shouldn’t be a manditory thing, especially if they don’t plan to adress them. The only time I would draw an issue personally was if they tried to make the issues sound like they’re something good.

heyo ive decided its time for me to catch up on the one piece manga finally!! i last read it uhhh sometime late 2018?? MAYBE early 2019....anyways ill be liveblogging it, basically for myself but if anyone is interested then enjoy lol

so w.out further ado hers 927-931 hya 

uh ok i left off kinda in the middle of the wano arc, so im scanning thru some stuff to see what i remember.....i dont really remember what the deal is with that ginger (?) pompadour guy lmao. theres a lot of new characters and intricate politics in this arc from what i remember. 

i havent really gotten spoiled for anything....i know that something bad happens to kid & killer, somethins up w/sabo (but we dont know what), luffy fights kaido (more than once i think?) uhhhhh we get roger flashbacks and hear the yonkous bounties....thats abt all i really know. so im hype to find out what else has gone on....

im gonna start around 927, i defs read this but i want a refresher

That’s so sad- he must have thought his quirk was just life taunting him for being “disposable” hence the tape quirk :( but heck yeah, once he meets the students of UA he definitely begins to see that he wasn’t the problem in the past, but rather those that he was “friends” with!

Kirishima and Sero are the first to find out about both the frying brain and the abusive household, and Sero asks Kaminari if he wants to go try something. Kaminari says sure and Sero reserves a training ground for them, and Sero swings around with Kaminari and he hopes it works for Kami the same way it does for him. Sero is smiling because he doesn’t know what else to do, but swinging through the air helps him feel better and free. It helps. But there’s always, always the anxiety (¾)  

the anxiety of ‘Maybe today is the day I fall’, but he doesn’t realize that Kaminari is helping him stay grounded. He won’t fall. Not when he gets to see Kaminari fuller of life than he’s ever been. They land on one of the buildings in ground Beta, and laugh like idiots as it starts to rain. Kaminari’s dying, Sero is a mess, and they just sit there for hours, past the end of their reservation, talking through their anxieties. Kaminari is scared to die. Sero is scared to lose him. Sero promises Kaminari he’ll be there, he’ll do everything he can to help keep him alive as long as possible, and he asks Kaminari how long he has from his last estimate. Kaminari laughs, starting to cry. Six years. Sero tells the Bakusquad, and they promise him that they’ll be there when the time comes. Not villains or Dadzawa could stop them, and finally it does. For only being a hero for three years, he’s made history for kids who have terminal illnesses (ranoutofspacedammit)      

 And the drawbacks of quirks come more into light. Kaminari may not be a great student or hero, but he brought hope to a lot of people, and everyone will miss him. They can’t hear thunder crack without thinking of him, can’t see the golden sunrise without thinking of his smile. Can’t even bear to look at the classic lit section in a bookstore. He saved people and raised awareness, but he wrecked their hearts as well. (Somehow this turned into a near-fic I’m so sorry Hope you’re doing well(Done))

when I started shipping it if I did: i can’t really pinpoint the exact moment, since back when i first started watching and then reading one piece i was too busy trying to catch up as fast as possible to pay attention to shipping, and then one day i saw a fanart somewhere on tumblr and it just instantly clicked.

my thoughts: YALL. LISTEN. OKAY SO REMEMBER WAY BACK WHEN THEY FIRST MET AND ZORO TOLD LUFFY (paraphrasing here) “if you get in the way of my ambition i’ll cut you down” OR SOMETHING EDGY LIKE THAT, THIS MAN WENT FROM THAT TO “if you get in the way of my ambition that’s totally fine lmao lemme die for you real quick, xoxo” IN A FUCKING DAY AND A HALF. LIKE???? LIKE????? YOU GUYS????????? THIS RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT??????????????and okay so it’s been Established™ that zoro is Very Gay for luffy (i will fite u if you argue this with me) but yall. zoro was literally the actual beginning of luffy’s crew, he was the start of luffy’s journey and if you don’t think that’s beautiful there’s something wrong with you, zoro is the first part of the foundation to luffy being able to achieve his dream, he’s the first pillar, im sobbing yall, im getting so emotional, this ship is so good.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: assuming we’re talking hypothetically if gay ships could ever become canon… luffy obviously with law. zoro also with law. but ideally they’re all very gay and very poly.

My happily ever after for them: luffy becomes the pirate king and doesn’t die, zoro becomes the greatest swordsman and doesn’t die, they keep sailing the seas in search for adventure together with their friends and NO ONE DIES, ODA.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: i figure luffy is so all over the place when he sleeps that it switches around a lot throughout the night, i don’t think either would really have a preference. 

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: partying together with friends!!!! drinking and eating!! being competitive for fun (why hasn’t there been a sports AU yet i’m so disappointed)

when I started shipping it if I did: it was definitely punk hazard. like with ZoLu it wasn’t until i was fully caught up that i started paying attention to ships, and by that time we just about hit punk hazard in manga and i couldn’t resist.

my thoughts: as i mentioned in an earlier post, the way law’s impressions in regards to luffy develop from the first time they meet all the way to dressrosa is just so good, like law fought it every step of the goddamn way but luffy was like “nah we’re married now” and that’s fucking that, they’re stuck with each other forever. it’s so weird because when i started this series i was so convinced i would never ship luffy with anyone but he just has to go and attract all these edgy softies with his absurd willingness to LITERALLY DIE FOR THEM, you tell this kid you want an alliance and if he likes you enough he will fight the whole world for you, i’m so. ugh.

What makes me happy about them: grumpy tol and sunny smol. law being dragged kicking and screaming into falling in love. luffy giving exactly 0 shits for his inhibitions and shattering his Edgelord image with brutal honesty. i can already see them 10 years later, you know that meme of a married couple that goes “aww you had a crush on me? that’s so embarrassing”, except the LawLu version would be:“tell me again how you had a crush on me when we were younger” “I HAD NO SUCH THING” “law, we’ve been married for ten years” “IT’S A PIRATE ALLIANCE–” “WE HAD A FUCKING WEDDING”

What makes me sad about them: THEY ARE PERFECT.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: g e n d e r   r o l e s. making law some sort of sadistic sociopath. making luffy as dumb as a bag of hammers without it being played for laughs or as a gag like in canon. i get he isn’t the brightest but come on yall, tone it down. 

things I look for in fanfic: same as with ZoLu.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: as you can probably guess, both of them with zoro. there’s literally no one else, yall can go home, it’s been decided.

My happily ever after for them: luffy becomes the pirate king and doesn’t die, LAW DOES NOT DIE AT ANY POINT, and while i can’t really see law sailing with luffy i can see him settling down somewhere later on and opening a clinic or a hospital. luffy would visit him lots

who is the big spoon/little spoon: law doesn’t strike me as the cuddling type so i feel like he’d be the grudging little spoon who secretly loves the cuddles but he has too much Edge to admit it. luffy does not care. will cuddle whenever wherever. 

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: canonverse wise, i’d say dragging law into adventures and making him have fun. that’s like, a huge part of their relationship. otherwise cuddling also seems like a big contender, god knows law needs affection.
