i have finally seen Every Single Godzilla movie ever made. ask me anything

#i watched godzilla vs kong 2021 today #my first thought is: why is the american trilogy so inconsistent with its hollow earth theory. #is it a bunch of huge deep caves? is it a big gap where the core should be? #is the earth a matryoshka doll and the gap between outer and inner earth is hollow earth #and for some reason BOTH sides of the gap have their own gravities #even tho you could keep the direction of gravity the same and jsut make the “floor” of hollow earth the surface of the inner matryoshka? #WHERES THE LIGHT COMING FROM ?? #why can kaiju easily handle an 'entire planets gravity' when most state-of-the-art helicopters cant #you can chuck a bug out a window and it's fine. you can chuck an elephant out a window and it's dead. but a huge ape falling miles? #thats fiiiine #also why is kong an ape and godzilla a marine reptile but all kaiju have a 'lineage' that lets em sense each other and fight #they barely have the same niche why are they territorial #god i wish i was related to godzilla. and if kong is then i definitely am! #but idk. i didn't watch the kong movie. i only watch godzilla movies #shitpost

A Southern Washington Lava Tube, July 2023.

This cave is possibly the second-longest lava tube in North America. It's somewhat known by locals, so unfortunately bears the scars of visitation by an unknowing, uncaring public. Lava caves cannot clean themselves out, nor can they regenerate.

It's a more complex lava tube than most - it has at least three branching passages above the main channel. Two are meanders from when the flowing lava river was at a higher level, and another is a channel that branches off downstream. I cannot find a modern survey of it, so the true length of these branches and the cave itself is unknown to me. The entrance of the cave is steep, and the opening is small. The setting allows a moss and fern garden to grow green in the misty daylight until it is choked out by the dark.

This cave surprised me with how tall and narrow it is - ceilings are often in excess of 40 feet (~11 m), carving a winding void into the earth. The floor is very rugged, and made of breakdown (collapse debris) for most of its length. We never reached the end, unprepared for how long it would take to finish the remaining third of the cave. A return is in order after the thaw.

What would Bowser and Luigi's rel- body guarding life be like one a day to day basis?

You know that one dude that just seems to have a job at every store. Like you just see that one dude everywhere no matter where you go. That's him, he mainly helps out with the paperwork and acts as a glorified nanny to the koopalings, along with a few other things.

He does help out in fights but he is very much a glass cannon. So negotiations and spying are his specialty. In relation to Bowser majority of his job is like this:

what would horror do if dust were to be injured by another fairy?

It doesn’t bode well to speak of the horrors of the night.

“Bunny…”

“Hey,” speaking softly, as if to not agitate his mate any further, Dust tenderly kissed the shimmering tears that trickled so softly down Horror’s cheeks, his gentle giant just barely keeping his composure up. “I’m okay, Horror. I’m not going to die.”

Horror released a broken whine and a short sob, and he cradled the smaller fairy closer to himself as he quietly cried. “I was scared.”

“I know.”

“I thought they… they were…” his words were muddled, and his mind felt confused. His tongue felt swollen. Had he bitten it? “I thought they were going to… to take you away… to somewhere I couldn’t follow.”

“Shh, Horror,” Dust soothed, his hands stroking over Horror’s skull, his cheeks, his tense shoulders. “I’m here. I won’t leave you alone.”

Shedding more tears as softer whimpers left him, Horror desperately clung to his mate, feeling so ashamed and frightened all at the same time. He didn’t want to hurt anyone. He didn’t want to be alone. “Stay with me… please. I love you, Dust… I love you.”

With his joints growing stiffer by the minute, Dust forced himself to stay calm as he kissed Horror’s forehead, his mind filling with scribbles of the near future. “I love you, too, Horror. I won’t ever leave you. I promise.”

It doesn’t bode well to speak of the stardust that blows in the wind of the night, nor of the petite fairy who, without interrupting his lover’s restless sleep, snuck away during the cover of darkness to fill the silent hours with screams and begs for mercy. Heading neither plea nor cry, the little fairy plunged into a pool of icy water to rid himself of glittering stardust, for once taking care to clean himself properly.

Without as much of a creak of wood or a silent hush, Dust crept into Horror’s arms once more, leaving a soft kiss atop his chest before cuddling in against his pleasant warmth.

“I promise I’ll protect you forever, Horror. I won’t ever leave you alone. Never.”
